  1. THE CELTICS GOT THE STEALS OF THE DRAFT! GREEN AND GOMEZ WITH THE PICKS WE HAD?? THAT'S INSANE! INSANE ENOUGH TO WARRANT THIS FONT, EVEN. THE CELTICS ARE GOING TO WIN IT ALL BY 2010, I GUARANTEE IT.
  2. When I saw this on Yahoo news earlier in the day, I thought I'd post it here, but you had already beaten me to the punch. SOMEday I'll contribute SOMEthing to this board... but ANYways, in the meantime, thanks for the article, Mimi! :2thumbs: Some good quotes...
  3. I don't think it's maliciously racist in any way. But it is clearly inherantly racist to have a "Black Entertainment" awards ceremony, even if you nominate whites like Justin Timberlake. Because to segregate conceptions of music and culture by color is still a sign of racial barriers and divides. It's not malicious, but its far from utopian. And for the record, I think there would be quite the uproar if the country music awards were re-named the "White Entertainment" awards, or something along those lines. Just my take on it all. :wiggle:
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :wiggle: :whiteflag: :sleep2: :smart: :lolsign:  :metoo: :sigh: :dj: :haha: :hmm: :jazzy:  :i_won_battle: :google:  :ozzie: :fest29: :fly: (not all of these smilies apply, but I hadda top Jonny...)
  5. Arrogant is an understatement. :lolsign: I just read the whole transcript - for whatever reason lol - and I found that I'm not even sure if I agree/disagree with the Scientology viewpoint on psychotic drugs. I did, however, come away with the impression that any "religion" or philosophy would be unfortunate to have Cruise as its spokesman. Actual quote from the interview... "Ok, Matt, Matt, Matt, Ok, listen, you don't understand, Matt. I am an expert on these things, Matt. I have read so much - do you know what reading is, Matt? I will now explain my stance in obscenely general terms. I will, Matt, I will provide no fact-basis that would ever serve as proof of my extensive research. I will also continue to badger you for your ignorance, Matt, in a condescending manner that will overshadow any legitimate points I might be making. By the way, Matt, I love Katie. Check out my movie!" It's not the far off, anyways.
  6. Did people think I cheated last time? If so, glad the record is set straight. I may have no shame whatsoever, but I don't cheat either. Especially in internet rap battles. :wiggle: And thanks for the endorsement, FUQ, I tried. :thumbsup2: A little off topic, but is anyone else just waiting with baited breath for the first usage of the following smiley when voting closes? :i_won_battle:
  7. "Powell was born in New York City and was raised in the South Bronx. His parents, Luther Theophilus and Maud Ariel Powell, emigrated to the United States from Jamaica. Powell was educated in the New York City public schools, graduating from the City College of New York (CCNY), where he earned a bachelor's degree in geology." -Wikipedia.com And good for Kurtis. Basketball is MY favorite sport, too. :wiggle:
  8. We all responded to that eerily quickly :wtf:
  9. Dude, Keenan is on Saturday Night Live! Even tho it sucks now lol And Kel hosts a late-night hip hop dance show on UPN (a US network) called "Dance 360" which is a cult classic among everyone who cannot dance (tag ya man! tag ya man!)
  10. http://rapidshare.de/files/2572017/Polaris..._song_.mp3.html There it is, in all its mid-90's grunge glory. While we're on this nostalgia trip, my favorite Nick Shows were... Pete & Pete, Clarissa (hey, my sister watched it), Hey Dude, Doug (!!!!!), Nick Arcade, GUTS (I wanted to be on that show more than could possibly be healthy), and, of course, Hey Dude Keenen and Kel also rocked my world... I actually have had multiple conversations with multiple people about the "I PUT THE SCREW IN THE TUNA" episode... if you're another person who remembers this specifically, you're my best friend
  11. HA! Got it! Thank you, WinMX. I'll post it up somewhere in a sec.
  12. hahaha I'm actually on a quest for that song as we speak, it's called "Hey Sandy" by Polaris but I can't find it for free or even on iTunes (I really don't wanna buy a whole album to get it lol)... but as for other shows, I read they have plans to actually release a bunch of them, if Pete and Pete and Clarissa Explains it All (also recently released) do well... It's called the "Nick Rewind" collection or something, and I am far more excited than I should be about it. :wiggle:
  13. I don't have much to say here, except... 1. Does anyone remember the early 90's Nickelodeon sitcom Pete and Pete? :hmm: 2. ...Because it was the BEST THING EVER(!) :scared07: It was randomly released on DVD recently and me and a couple of compadres definately watched the whole first disc yesterday, in succession. Yes, it was kind of a kid's show. Yes, we're all 18. But we're all easily amused, and more than a little bit lazy. Artie, the Strongest Man in the World, is my hero. :fly: This topic needed to be brought up. :pony:
  14. The World's Gone Mad by Handsome Boy, Del
  15. Scyhigh has gotta be LOVING this. :1-say-yes: ← No doubt! :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
  16. Wow, I really like this. Thanks :2thumbs:
  17. I just saw this movie tonight, thoroughly entertaining, if ridiculous... and I have SOOOOOOOOOO many thoughts on it but for now, I'll only give two... 1. Katie Holmes did do a pretty bad job acting in this film. :haha: There were a few lines she delivered that made me cringe and laugh simutaniously (spelling!). Oh, Katie, you and your Scientology and your Tom Cruise. :wiggle: 2. HILARIOUS disparity in voice used by Christian Bale as Batman and as Bruce Wayne. :wtf: Why is it that when he puts on the costume, he has to speak like he as emphazema (spelling, again) and he's in one of those anti-smoking commercials. Just a grating, hilariously over-done alter-ego voice. Good times had by all. I highly recommend this film. So enjoyable on so many different levels. Out of 5 stars, I give it 37. :1-say-yes: And I'm not even a comic book movie guy. I've never even seen the other Batmans.
  18. I'll change it up---- :wtf: (is there like a combo of those two?)
  19. I don't even think I have to explain where I stand. :wiggle:
  20. This is completely random, but I'd just like to say that although I loved the Garfield Saturday morning cartoon and me and another kid actually recently bought the DVD of it (yes, we're 18 and 19, respectively), and although the cartoon USED to be good way back when if you've seen the old book collections, the Garfield cartoon now is soooooooooo profoundly UNfunny, at least in my opinion. The same stuff OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. He's lazy and he hates spiders and Jon is a loser. hahahahhahahaha ANYways, if you wanna see a GREAT comic strip with great and consistently original and funny and thoughtful storylines, check out Calvin and Hobbes, even tho it's not around anymore. That strip was quality till the end.
