  1. Yeah two different Dre's. The other guy hosted Yo! MTV Raps (I think)
  2. Turn it over and STOP PERFORMING THIS SONG :protest: (I said it)
  3. Some thoughts... 1. I personally like Luda. :2thumbs: For the record, Number One Spot is one of my favorite rap tracks on the radio right now, just a wicked fun song, cool sample, funny & well written. Beats the living pants outta Switch... thats right, the LIVING PANTS. And I will always rock out to Area Codes, just because. 2. A Jazzy produced remix would be great, with Luda throwing in a verse. I'd be fine with that. But all this type of speculation isn't my thing. We'll see. :wiggle: 3. Just a random thing: you can be non-commercial/crap rap and not be old school. It's not either or. There are more than two catagories of rap music. :smart: 4. In chess, the horsey moves in the shape of a capital "L". :fly: 5. Regardless of the remix, the original Party Starter is quite goooood. :jazzy: As has been said many times before, we need the single, ASAP. Knock Switch right off the airwaves. :1-say-yes:
  4. Thanks, Tim! Fun track...
  5. I'm gonna be alone on this one I think :fly: but I love the beat on If You Can't Dance. (Swagga was a close second, with honorable mentions for Wave Em Off, Here He Comes, & Party Starter)
  6. :word: The first MIB was a great, fun flick, but MIBII was one of the worst movies I ever went to see in the theatres. It wasn't even remotely funny. I'm still bitter I blew my money on it. :uhh: It's the Born to Reign of Will's movies. (not that I've seen all of Will's flicks...)
  7. New Swedish herring museum creates a stink, literally Fri Jun 3,11:25 AM ET (from Yahoo! news...) STOCKHOLM (AFP) - A new museum dedicated to the smelly Swedish delicacy of fermented Baltic herring opens its doors this weekend in northern Sweden, giving visitors a unique and, well, interesting, olfactory experience. Fermented Baltic herring, or surstroemming as it is called in Swedish, is known for its pungent, some say dreadful, odour and is a specialty from the northern part of the Scandinavian country. "This is the only place in the world where herring is eaten this way. We want to show off our culture," Sten Bylin, the project leader for the Surstroemming Museum, tells AFP as the finishing touches are put on the exhibit. The museum opens on Saturday in Skeppsmaln, a small fishing village just north of the northern town of Oernskoeldsvik, and gives visitors a historical, cultural and culinary overview of the dish as well as an opportunity to taste it -- if they dare. Traditionally eaten in August, even lovers of the dish recommend that the tins be opened outdoors... But only a fraction of Swedes claim to actually enjoy it. So why dedicate an entire museum to the dish? "Because this is part of our culture up here in the north. It's unique to eat herring this way. And there's a whole culture and history surrounding it," Bylin says. Visitors to this small, cosy shrine to herring, built in the shape of a boat, will learn that the dish originated back in the 15th century, when fish was traditionally preserved in salt. The story goes that a cook failed to use enough salt one day. The fish began to ferment, and a new tradition was born. The museum describes the process by which surstroemming is made. The herring is caught in late spring, then placed in a salt mixture in wooden barrels for several days. It is then moved into the sun, which shines almost around the clock this far north in summer, for a few months to ferment. After that it is shipped to stores in small tins. It's only sold in shops as of the third Thursday in August -- in order to allow for the proper fermentation period -- and is usually served with boiled new potatoes and sides of onions, sour cream and tomatoes, all washed down with aquavit or beer. For sceptics, the museum offers a "sniffing box" where the lift of a cork gives you a whiff. For the brave, the museum restaurant will whip up your very own portion. And if you're feeling a little uncertain about how to proceed once the waitress has brought you your food, a movie will tell you what to do. Once that's settled, all you have to do is pick a drinking song from the jukebox to accompany your shot of aquavit, or "snaps" as Swedes would say, and you're ready to go. While those who dislike the dish say it smells putrid and rank, fans of the stuff wax lyrical. In other words, you either love it or hate it. "I think it's delicious! When the tin is opened you get almost hysterical! You just want to start eating it right away. Something strange and psychological happens," gushes Bylin. The museum will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about herring. For example, at the entrance is a large black barrel into which visitors are encouraged to lower their heads to hear how the herring communicate with each other. (Answer? They fart.) Bylin, who is also a parish vicar, said he was excited about giving tourists a reason to stop in the town, until now usually only known by Swedes for its spot on the radio's daily shipping news. "We are hoping to have at least 10,000 visitors a year. And there has been some interest from abroad" for the museum which has been in the planning since 1982. "There's been some interest from Germans, Russians, Finns and even some French people," he said.
  8. Even tho I'm not a big fan of the ridiculously extravagent musical performances that always, for whatever reason, need to accompany big-time sporting events, and even tho I'm not too crazy about the NBA annually picking one song to drill into my head ad naseum during each year's playoffs (last year's Lets Get It Started, as Max said, and  I'm still reeling from the 2002 anthem, Pink's Get the Party Started)... :wiggle: this is still pretty sweet news. I'll add my name to the list of people who hope it's Party Starter :2thumbs: or maybe even a varied old and new school performance :spin: (unlikely, but still...) instead of another Switch rendition. :thatsux:
  9. :1-eek: It's gonna be wicked pissa. (anyone?)
  10. That's why Will Smith needs to sponser it. :chuks:
  11. :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: :fly: That's me-- high school class of '05. (Thanks. :wiggle: )
  12. Took me a solid 5 minutes to find what you were talking about :pharoah: but thats pretty sweet news. :exitstageright: Hopefully I'll see JJFP in NYC next fall? :sinking:
  13. This is just off the top of my head after reading the thread - and there are a ton to choose from - but two songs I really love Jeff's scratches on are "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper" and "So Fresh." I just think all the placement is perfect and adds alot to the flow on those tracks. :jazzy:
  14. Well, it seems like you've done your research, at least. :spin: (I love this new spin... its a vast improvement on the old one... soon I wanna write all my feelings on these new smileys... I have a lot)
  15. When you select a clickable smiley... the animation on all the others stop. What if I wanna use more than one smiley (I usually do) and wanna preview their full effect? It's been bothering me for quite some time. I love all the new smileys but I need to preview them in a more convenient fashion. :wtf: :uhh: :whiteflag: (3rd one fits)
  16. "To write without adequate information is to invite ridicule." :smart: Therefor... I have no idea. :hmm: (and I tend to doubt many ppl here really do, either)
  17. I'd break it down like this, on a scale from 1 to 10... Big Willie Style = 11 Lost & Found = 9 Willenium = 9 Born to Reign = 1.3 Or on a scale of clickable smileys... Big Willie Style = :2thumbs: Lost & Found = :wiggle: Willenium = :wiggle: Born to Reign =
  18. I chose true blue... it's blowing my MIND!!!!!!!!! OMG NEW SMILEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
  19. Incidentally, I read that list too, in Ebert's review of "Kicking and Screaming" (which I was reading after seeing it with a friend-- we were both profoundly dissapointed)... "Will Ferrell is now a major movie star, with nine more new movies in the pipeline. I learn of his status from the industry analyst David Poland, who has crunched the numbers and come up with the "real" list of box office heavyweights. He says top 10 stars in terms of actual ticket sales are, in order: Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and Denzel Washington. The highest-ranking woman on the list is Reese Witherspoon, at No. 12."
  20. Burger King is the one I frequent the most... there's one right next to my high school and me and my friends have been (or were, at this point) known to "hit up the BK Lounge" after hours (a la Dane Cook)... BUT I voted for Arbys, a much-maligned restaurant that I have always defended and loved... they closed the only one close to me a couple yrs ago but whenever I'm near one I make a point to pick up a roast beef sandwich w/ curley fries :wiggle: :wiggle: :wiggle: :wiggle: :wiggle: (I'll throw in FIVE wiggles for that meal...)
  21. Woooooooah, yeah the Vietnamese comments were about as necessary as the hacking itself. :toetap:
