Nah....the Loretta character wouldn't be that crazy if a young FP hooked up with her. That would just make her a slightly crazy woman scorned. That would be him inviting that kinda consiquence whereas the Loretta stuff is totally FP being the victem cuz some crazy individual created their "releationship" and carried it out all on their own. "Afro Angel" isn't supposed 2 be biographical tho.' The stories in that song are just 4 the song, not pulled from his real life. That's why it's told in a very story-based format. "Loretta" is biographical.

Brandy, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige & Others,
JumpinJack AJ replied to Wild_Wild_West's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I can't wait 2 pick up the CD. They really should put "1,000 Kisses" on that CD, it would fit in perfect. Better yet, the version with the old school breakdown in the video. Either way, i'm hyped 2 see FP and TLC in the same video. It's not the way i'd prefer it since Jazzy Jeff wont' be there and Left Eye can't be...but they are all from my 2 favorite groups of all time. -
Yeah, LL has Rock The Bells and in the late 90's he had Illeon. I actually forget the spelling, but it's pronounced 'ill-EEE-on.' He had a cool male R-N-B group Amyth on the roster. For some reason i'm thinking they sung on Willennium. Some check the check the credits cuz i'm 2 lazy 2 run upstairs...ha ha. I think they sung on "No More."

Jeffs scratches on Lost and found
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm still thinkin' FP did the scratches himself or had some in-studio DJ do it. Those trax featuring scratches on them but don't credit Jazzy don't really have Jazzy's style on them. The DJing is used more as an instrument on the songs rather than the way a DJ takes some of the shine as an artist...like Jazzy. -
TRL isn't rigged...that's how a New Kids On The Block video hit number one back in 1999 when Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyer. All these fans came 2gether and voted a New Kids video on TRL. I'm not down with New Kids...but that waz really impressive that fans came 2gether like that.

Well, during Willennium, FP waz concentrating more on music. Overbrooke waz a lil' more active then and he had Tra-Knox and Breeze as new artists, but he also signed MC Lyte. But since Overbrook lost their distribution deal, he let those artists go free and do what they wanted. If Overbrook gets more "hands on" i think he can do that kinda stuff. I don't think Overbrook needs 2 merge with A Touch of Jazz tho.' They are 2 totally different labels, and unless Jazzy wants 2 take things that way, it's just not necessary. ATOJ is a very unique label and Jazzy wants 2 keep it that way, that's why things never worked out Columbia cuz his personal views controdicted with Columbia's.

FABOLOUS feat. LIL' MO + MIKE SHOREY - Can't Let You Go Man, i've always loved this joint. I found the Australia Import CD single 2day and couldn't pass it up.

Ha!! I actually do a work out b4 i do my shows...just 2 keep my body relaxed. I never thought about doing b4 a date. I don't really get nervous when taking a girl out...i haven't for about 10 years. But it's probably a good idea none the less. And 3Cookies revealed an idea i kinda overlooked. COOKING. This is definitly an area i need 2 work on. Other than toast and cereal...i'm pretty lost in the kitchen.

Karyn Parsons movie-Ladies Man
JumpinJack AJ replied to Fresh-Ta-Def's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, i saw it years ago when it waz new. That movie is hilarious. -
Yeah, like i stressed...keep it small. A dozen roses is just crazy. When u are getting to know someone, u gotta make that foundation of friendship b4 taking things further. Going over the top is a bad idea...even when things flow like that, there's a chance u'll later find out that u fell head over heels real fast and now u don't know what 2 do. p.s. Wes, i waz totally ignorant 2 the tissue thing 2. It's one of those things u would never think about until it's 2 late. I know somebody else has 2 have some things they can share here.

Talib Kweli Plans To Sign Rakim To Label!
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
That's dope. It's great seeing artists like that coming 2gether. Rakim would do so much better on that label than he would ever do on Aftermath. -
F2D, i'm tellin' u. Music is I-M-P-O-R-T-A-N-T. U notice how a soundtrack can sometimes make a movie? The music involved will serve as the sountrack 2 your nite. And like a movie, u don't just hear music...u hear it UNDER the talking. Music is for the vibe...4 the mood. A few days after the date, she's gonna hear a song on the radio, and she's gonna think about the nite she spent with u. And i totally disagree with the "poetic" stuff like "i love the way your eyes glisten in the star light" is just mad corny. U say something like that, and most girls will make a face that looks like they just swallowed a bug. Real romance comes later, as the relationship has grown. When u get closer 2 someone, that's why u can start taking risks with what u can say. ps. F2D, don't even try 2 compare numbers when it comes 2 the ladies...ha ha

Yeah, when i think about those people doing it it all 4 money, i think about that line in Hitch "You're selling the stuff but you don't believe in it." These iced out wannabes don't care about Hip-Hop and it's clear that most of them don't even know what it is. They get no respect from me.

I heard a short snippet of it and liked it. Right now waz definitly the time 4 him 2 come back.

In Hitch, FP talks about "basic principles." Well, this post is 4 those who wanna share experiences they have had on the dating front. Share what things u do when trying 2 impress the oppisite sex. This goes both ways tho.' If i share and idea, and one of u ladies thing it's wack, by all means, share your thoughts. 1st off, i'm gonna talk about the "Hollywood Factor" of 1st dates. I apply this 2 all the 1st few dates with another person. Now, the most important rule is 2 be yourself, but i think it's important 2 kick up your game a notch. DA RIDE: B4 every 1st date, i make sure the car is washed and cleaned out inside. If i honey can't be comfortable in your car, then u are in trouble. Make sure the gastank is full. U don't know if u'll end up going 4 a long drive, and stoppingt 2 fill up on gas is a waste of time. It totally messes up the flow of things and leaves her with an akward moment alone in your car. I also make sure i got CDs for every mood and 4 every taste in there. I got at least 5 really current popular CDs in the car, 1 R-N-B mix, 1 pop mix, and so on. If she's in2 something that i don't have, i roll up with the radio on and tell her 2 put on whatever she wants. Those songs u listen 2 on that 1st date may play an important part...so make sure they are something she dosen't mind listening 2. One thing that really impresses the ladies is if u have stuff like tissues in the glove compartment. As a guy, i NEVER think about having tissues in the car, but one time i waz taking a girl out and she waz kinda sick (cuz it waz winter) and she really needed tissues...ha ha. So the next time that happened, i had them and it amazing how impressed the girl waz...ha ha. Basically, just be prepared 4 that kinda stuff. It is NOT sexy 2 have unclean windows or a strong oder in your car...ha ha. Keep your stuff right. Oh yeah, safe sex is an important thing if u are getting down like that. But lets be real, any girl worth impressing is not gonan be giving it up anytime soon...WHICH MEANS DON'T HAVE ANY CONDOMS IN YOUR CAR. U wanna see a girl make up her mind that she dosent' wanna be with u...then have a condom in your glove compartment. DA GEAR: Don't be showing up 2 meet some girl looking all average. I'm not saying overdo it. But just make sure your gear is straight (not wrinkled, faded, stained, tasteless). If u have clean cut, make sure u are shaved. Make it look like u made a lil' effort 2 look good 4 her. She may not wanna get any closer in front of other people if u aren't taking car or yourself. Check those finger nails and all the stuff alotta guys like 2 overlook. If this girl is a girly girl...don't show up thugged out. That may be u, but u dont' wanna give her an image of yourself that isnt' totally true which could make her make up her mind about u b4 she gets 2 know u. And lastly, there is no excuse 2 ever wear a sleevless shirt. DA ATTITUDE: It's all about respect. If she wants 2 talk your ear off, let her do it. Don't cut her off or run your mouth. If she wants 2 get 2 know u, she'll ask. Most ladies love 2 talk...so let her do it. Also, it's can't hurt 2 actually listen. While u are talking, it's good 2 steer away from really deep talk on a 1st date. Don't talk about politics, religion or anything like that. Unless she gets in2 that stuff on her own. Lastly, watch your mouth. Don't hit her with non-stop cussing. It's just tasteless and disrespectful. As somebody who dosen't cuss, i can't stress how much less attractive a honey has gotten after she cusses alot. DA AFTERMATH: When the nite is over, u want 2 leave that girl with a bubbly, happy, positive feeling that will make her anticipate the next time u see each other. One top of that, it's a good idea 2 leave her with something from the date as a gift. Even if it's small, if she has something that she can keep as a visual, it'll make her think about the good time she had with u. Don't be stubborn and think my advice is trash. U should see it as a privilage 2 be with that girl...so it's worth putting in that work. First dates are about impressions. After all, that's all the girl is going 2 go on when it come 2 if she wants 2 see u again. From there on, u get 2 know each other more and more.

SWV + LOST BOYZ - You're The One ('96 Anthem - Allstar Remix)

Anybody who worships money and talks about it nonstop is clearly not an artist 2 me. They are just a heartless, greedy puppet. U can't get any further from Hip-Hop than that. Listen 2 FP's flow...he puts his heart in2 his music. Everything about what he dose personifies what an artist is. 50 isn't artistic....Ja-Rule isn't artistic...it's just crappy music. I listened 2 Mobb Deep a lil' bit back in the day cuz my best friend liked them alot. They didn't bug me then. Since then, i just thought they made crappy music. And the last few years, i've thought they were a joke. Them moving 2 G-Unit is just them hitting rock bottom 2 me. Look at all the commerical artists who make label changes 2 label who have a strong image, established artists sell out 2 fit in with that label almost everytime.

Oh lawd...this stuff is garbage. Whatever happened 2 going out and getting a job?!?

Bigted, JJ+FP and LL are straight from the suburbs. I have articles that talk about JJ+FP middle class West Philly upbringing. I actually drove thru' alot of West Philly when i saw them in Feb 2002. I'm from the suburbs 2. I don't think it takes any credibility away from any artists where they come from...unless they pretend 2 be from a place they aren't, which i the case in a lot of chart topping rappers. I live in the suburbs and i consider it a blessing. My home away from home is very 'hood. I learned ALOT there but i waz always happy knowing i could go back home whenever i needed 2 get away from that enviornment. Some of my closest friends were drug dealers and i even used 2 be cool with people who had commited murder or attempted it. When i used 2 write and rap alot, hardly any of it had 2 do with that dark kinda stuff. MC Hammer came out of straight poverty, but he never made the kinda music 2 make u feel like crap. When u live that kinda lifestyle, u don't wanna talk about it. That's why there's alot of rappers trying 2 be "street" and they just take all of their stories out of the newspaper and movies. Bottom line, i think it's wack 2 label somebody "suburban." That dosen't say what someone has been thru' or what kinda person they are. JJ+FP and LL make some of the best music in the world....so anybody who lables them that and dosen't make music half as good as their's has no reason 2 open their mouth.

Party Starter 554 Spins #47 so far
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
When i think of "Switch"...i think of the little single that could. It just climbed and climbed 2 the top. I expect "Party Starter" 2 do big things, but time is being wasted. The hype 4 a new single has died 4 the people who listen 2 top 40 radio.
