JumpinJack AJ replied to fresh_from_sofia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, i'e been meaning 2 get the B2K video collection on DVD so i can finally own this. -
And In This Corner... is easily the funniest album.

This post isn't necessarily about who your favorite singer or group is...or who u think is the best. It's really all about who's voice u love hearing on a song. Here's a few people i love hearing sing... Brian McKnight Montell Jordan Marvin Gaye Nick Lachey Boyz II Men Alicia Keys Luther Vandross Whitney Houston Jon B Aaliyah Babyface Christina Aguilera Amy Lee (or whoever the singer in that group Evanescence is)

Yeah, u just gotta know u made the right decision. It hurts, but that's how life is sometime. When i'm going thru' a loss, i just toss myself in2 alot of other things in life and surround myself with friends.

what did fat joe do to fifty cent
JumpinJack AJ replied to cristigolo's topic in Caught in the Middle
Let's remember that there is Rap music and that there is Hip-Hop music and they they aren't the same thing. Opinions can very who has skillz and who dosen't...but who is Rap and who is Hip-Hop is fact. G-Unit is not Hip-Hop. When it comes 2 G-Unit, Fat Joe, Ja-Rule, Jadakiss...it has nothing 2 do with Hip-Hop. It's just an immature, uninteresting Rap beef. A Hip-Hop battle of words is better summed up with LL Cool J and Canibus. -
lost and found bonus tracks
JumpinJack AJ replied to cristigolo's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
The US gets what i like 2 call the artist's version of the album. Of course label's have a hand in how the album turns out, but the US versions are "the album" the way the artist wanted it for the most part. All those import versions have the bonus stuff for marketing. The aritst pretty much never has any say in the bonus trax that end up on the album. -

A day at the willsmith.com forum...
JumpinJack AJ replied to rawad_m's topic in Caught in the Middle
Ugh, don't remind me. I check that board twice a day hoping there will be a topic worth replying 2. -
Congratz!! It's hard 4 me 2 imagin someone listening 2 Code Red now. Taking in consideration where FP is now, and how the album sums up JJ+FP in 1993. It makes me wonder who much of that magic holds up over the years.

Nick Cannon Goes 'Wild' With Kanye, Common, etc...
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Be sure 2 catch the new episode. The beautiful Christina Milian is a guest on the show. Of course there's tons of battle of the sexes stuff going on since she's romantically tied 2 Nick. Common Sense dose his current single "Go!" at the end of the show. A new episode airs Thursday...so check the reruns b4 then. -
I used 2 think Ja-Rule's music waz trash at it's worst. But now 50 Cent has reached a new low in my opinion. 50 Cent even makes Ja-Rule look good.

When is the first time u hear and like ...
JumpinJack AJ replied to fresh_from_sofia's topic in Caught in the Middle
I can't pin point it. I just remember hearing Hip-Hop in the mid 80's. JJ+FP, LL Cool J, MC Hammer, Run-DMC, Young MC. I did hear it on the radio, but 4 the most part, i heard mixtapes my older cousin used 2 make...aka, tapes filled with Hip-Hop and R-N-B off the radio. I also had friends with older brothers and sisters who had stuff by MC Lyte, Public Enemy, Father MC, and so on. It waz just different, it waz fresh, and it seemed like it waz 4 me. I had no idea it would be where it is 2day. As in how huge it would be...and how crappy it's commerical image is. -
The Public Enemy live CD and DVD (from 1987) has just been released. Get that 2 hold yourself over in the mean time. They also just released their Greatest Hits album.

98 DEGREES - Invisible Man

Not his best album...but one of my favs of the past year or 2. DEFinitly worth getting.

Those pix don't look that impressive at all. It looks like he did the animation himself instead of leaving it 2 the professionals. Is there anything this man dosen't suck at?
-
It might be the best album...but not without a fight. It might be the greatest Hip-Hop album of all time if they kept "Boom!..." off it and tossed on "From Da South" and "Get Hyped."

LFO - Summergirls (Live - Arista's 25 Years of #1 Hits)
-
Man, i'm all about tying songs 2 certain times and places. ROCK THE HOUSE (album) - i just remember listening 2 this album late nite at my cousin crib in da basement. Old skool Hip-Hop at it's best. Just crazy DJing and rapping. SUMMERTIME - Man, the monumental moment when i heard this song waz at my cousin's crib. We were watching a late nite TV show that aired music videos. It waz summertime and we were already JJ+FP fans...so when they aired it, history waz made. But this song represents every single summer after it dropped. I'm so sensative about the summertime and this song has always been playing. HOMEBASE - Man, this album just represents the early 90's 2 perfection. Hip-Hop meets dancable club beats. Homebase waz just what life waz all about. CODE RED - This is just a dope autumn/winter album. It takes me back 2 late middle skool. I played it for YEARS in heavy rotation. MEN IN BLACK - I remember the 1st time i heard this song. It waz years after FP said he waz retiring from recording. All of a sudden it came on the radio when i waz driving thru' downtown. I lost my freakin' mind!! I also think about the soundtrack and the entire summer, cuz i couldn't stop playing the song. And when i did, it waz on the radio. BIG WILLIE STYLE (album) - This entire album just represents my senior year in high skool. I think about the other music at the time, i think about high skool life, i think about the girl i dated and the people i hung out with. It also represents the following year 4 me. YES YES Y'ALL - This waz one of the BWS songs i heard on the radio b4 the album dropped. But it waz also the song playing in the background when i shared my 1st kiss with my last girlfriend (in 2001). BOY YOU KNOCK ME OUT - I think about my 1st semester at college, the way i got really involved with theater and the way life waz back then. Freedom, friends, new enviornment. WILLENNIUM - Man, i got this album just b4 some hard times hit me. I just remember how the sound of the album catered 2 me perfectly. I also had people like Tim established as real online friends at the time so it waz a very mixed kinda time. THE MAGNIFICENT - Summertime, quality music that just didn't get old. I got a promo copy of the album 4 months b4 it dropped so it waz also crazy exciting 2 have my hands on 4 so long. BORN TO REIGN (album) - It waz just a crazy, fun, laidback summer. While the music waz a big surprise, that's the same reason i tie it in with that summer. LOST + FOUND (album) - Another album at the right time. This album dropped at a very hard time 4 me. So just putting it in kinda distracted me from the gritty reality that i waz going thru.' I might post more songs l8er.

MC HAMMER - Sunshine Brakes, is that an unathorized remix? Cuz Lauryn Hill isn't on that track?!?
-
I don't know if Big Tigger is on that video game. But he waz a huge radio personality in MD for the 90's. Then he started doing BET's Rapcity and lots of other things. He was supposed 2 release an album somewhere in the 2003/2004 area, but i haven't heard any news on it in a long time. He's got skillz on the mic. I just love Big Tigger. He's just one of the coolest cats in the business. Free's album waz actually supposed 2 come out last March or something like that. I haven't heard any news on her album in a long time. The only commerical song i think she is on is the opening track on The Fighting Temptations soundtrack with Beyonce, Missy, and MC Lyte.
-
I didn't click that link...but i read a week or 2 ago from one of the people in his crew saying that it's most likely over and that we can expect a DVD 2 be released with the skits that they taped so far. I liked the show alot, but i had a feeling it waz ending soon 4 some reason. It waz a struggle 2 get him 2 do the 3rd season in the 1st place.
