HEY, DOES WILL KNOW ABOUT THIS SITE?
JumpinJack AJ replied to diehardwill's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Jeff would contact me a few times thru' e-mail but most of the times i've got 2 talk 2 him waz on AIM. He hasn't been on that for a month or 2 tho.' I e-mailed a few of the peeps on the ATOJ who's work i waz familiar with but they havn't gotten back 2 me. Jeff's assistant has in the past but hasn't responded 2 the one i sent 2 weeks ago. -
I didn't see the VMA's yet, but that's what they are for. If u are on an award show, u are basically there 2 promote your next project or keep your name and face out there. I'm heading out early 2 get the new LL album. He's my 2nd fav emcee and he's never disappointed me.

Yeah, JJ+FP's style waz pretty timeless in the mid-90's. Gear like that isn't common, but it still comes off as in-style when u found it. I actually had a very similar style back then when i dressed a lil' mellowed down. Oh yeah, sleeveless shirts are a big no no. 2 wear those u really should have a killer set of muscles...otherwise u just look kinda silly. When i'm out in public, i always clown guys wearing sleeveless shirts cuz none of them earn the right 2 wear them.

Yeah, i love this album. Some of the songs weren't what i wanted from Boyzz II Men when i 1st heard it, so i had 2 adjust. But it only took like 2 more listens of the trax i didn't like as much 2 appriciate them 4 what they are. I'm thinking "Sara Smile" is gonna be my overall favorite. It's the 1st single...so where is the video?!? "Let It Whip" is probably my least favorite track.
-
Opinion, fact, what's the difference? On my Hip-Hop radar, i'm not picking up any sign of Gangsta rap...who's making it these days??
-
Man, why can't they just make things work. I've never read anything by CL that sounded so negative. It seems like him on recrods and him in person is 2 different people...and that's a turn off 2 me.
-
FP supports everyone. 1st off, everyone loves him. He's a Hip-Hop icon and treats everyone with respect. That's why he's cool with everyone. And i'm not surprised he waz gettin' down 2 stuff like "Lean Back"...like i said, he supports everyone. He gave props 2 Nelly in 2002, the said Ja-Rule waz a talented guy...he also waz groovin' 2 50 Cent last year. He always makes a point 2 support others, but we all know his views on Hip-Hop, Rap, the industry, and what quality Hip-Hop is.
-
I like the album. There is 2 or 3 trax that are lacking....but other than that, the trax are no less than good. There chemistry is amazing...however, i think Snoop Dogg gets unbalanced attention on a few songs. However, Snoop waz right when he said that the album brings a sound that is untouched these days. I kinda liked the idea that it took them about 10 years since they all found success. Now that they are grown and Gangsta rap is dead, i have a feeling the subject matter now is much better than it would have been in the early/mid 90's.
-
I missed it 2. I had other things 2 do and know they will re-run the crap outta it. I didn't really expect anything from FP being on it...just him being goofy and presenting. I thought "Miami" waz what they were gonna play when he came...4 obvious reasons.
-
Right now i have a mixtape playing made up of stuff i listened 2 the summer of 1998 feat. Aaliyah + Timbaland, Brandy + Monica, Jermaine Dupri, Mariah Carey + Lord Tariq + Peter Gunz, Ginuwine, Ray J, Changing Faces, Montell Jordan, Pras, ODB, + Mya, Destiny's Child, Jon B, Tatyana Ali, Tamia, Jagged Edge, Xscape, Sugarhill Gang, etc.

Have any of you met Will or Jeff?
JumpinJack AJ replied to rhythm bandit's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I've seen JJ+FP in person twice...but didn't meet them. I later found out that one of my friends talked 2 Jeff when i wazn't around him and he said we could chill with him a lil' bit after he waz done spinning. However, not knowing this, we had 2 leave and he told me on the way back home...i waz so mad and almost smacked the person who had 2 go home early. I have talked 2 Jeff online quite a few times tho.' E-mails also. -

Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince DVD???
JumpinJack AJ replied to mfuqua23's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Hopefully FP's new project will be huge and Jive will re-release JJ+FP "Greatest Hits: The Videos" on DVD and repackage it with some of the things they missed. Columbia is just ignorant for not putting 2gether a Will Smith "Greatest Hits" DVD. The Will Smith Video Collection is great, but it would be nice 2 have "Boy You Knock Me Out, Freakin' It," both versions of "Nod Ya Head," and "1,000 Kisses"...and bonus stuff. Both companies are money hungry so if FP's new project is big, there a chance that could happen. I doubt they'd outdue themselves tho.' -
Ha!! I just wanted 2 say i thought Color Me Badd is the jam!! Those guys were so underrated. I wish R-N-B groups these days could bring the harmonies and lyrics CMB waz bringing. I also think Spice Girls are cool...ha ha...everyonce in awhile i'm in the mood for some fun upbeat pop...Spice Girls are perfect 4 that. Hanson's "Mmmbop" waz a fun track 2.

I remember that article. The funny thing is, FP knew 2Pac and knew he wazn't a gangsta rapper. His knowlege on 2Pac's music waz more advanced than the singles cuz he's mentioned album music by him. Personally, i don't think Biggie waz gangsta at all. I'm not a big fan of his so maybe someone else can confirm what he classified himself. 2 me, he waz just your average New York rapper.
-
Out of the solo albums, definitly Willennium. After the huge success of Big Willie Style, FP retreated 2 Philly, hooked up with Jazzy Jeff and took his time creating the slightly overlooked album which waz the best of the late 90's. It had the party joints, it had the instrospective trax, it had some evergy that BWS waz lacking. Not 2 mention this album also confirmed that JJ+FP waz still alive and well.

Welcome 2 the board!! Great 2 see so many new people poppin' in.
-
No offense, but these are still really easy. Most of the people who post here are gonna know all these answers. Also, the whole multiple post voting this is gonna end up taking up alot of board space. I think this "quiz" should be done a bit differently.

I think Kanye is good...but i don't really want him 2 rap along side FP. The production i've heard from him is great...lots of his songs are good 2, but i don't care 2 hear them record 2gether that much. There like 50 other artists i'd like 2 hear him record with b4 Kanye. If FP would be performing on TV, i definitly would want him 2 handle the performance himself (or with Jeff). If he waz gonna perform with someone else, i'd want it 2 be and established artist. I think Kanye might cheapen his performance...especially after that recent post about him performing 4 that church.
-
I would probably go 2 see it in B-more 1st...but if it comes 2 Pittsburgh, i have a best friend who lives there and that would give me a reason 2 go visit her...not 2 mention a place 2 stay if i need it. We'll talk about that when/if that times comes.
-
Brandy's new one is great!! If u are a big fan of Brandy, try 2 find the Australian import single of "Talk About Out Love" ...it has the b-side "Like It Was Yesterday" which is an incredible song. No one laff :hsnono: , but right now i'm listening 2 Jessica Simpson.

Hardcore Hip-Hop is Hip-Hop music coming from an artist who came from the streets and puts alot of that in their music. I think Ice-T would be the perfect example of that. There's nothing phoney about Hardcore Hip-Hop. I would considered. Ice Cube, Onyx, etc. Gangsta Rap is just kinda all about style in my opinion. People would call this 213 album gangsta rap, but where on the album is their real gangsta stuff going on? On tracx like "Keep It Gangsta" they are clearly talking about their style, not going out killing people and running with a real gang. Fake Gangsta Rap is what all those other cats were making who weren't the originaters. Those ignorant fools who said they did this and say they did that but didn't really life any of it out. That's just mid-90's phoney trash...but some people called it gangsta rap at the time. G-Funk would personified with Warren G's music. Most of that is just Hip-Hop with that west coast, funk-influenced or funk-sampled sound. Warren G keeps his topic on the down 2 earth level that your basic Hip-Hop group would, but since he's a party of G-Funk, people always toss that in with Gangtsa Rap. p.s. i do remember back in the day, me and my friends used 2 laff that Snoop waz always wearing blue and Suge waz always wearing red. Snoop's past gang involvment i do remember. But Dr. Dre, Warren G, Sam Sneed, Nate Dogg....no way.

Can you still buy old Jazzy Jeff/Fresh Prince
JumpinJack AJ replied to rhythm bandit's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I live in the US. Here it's not common 4 them 2 be in ever music store or every music department but it's not that hard 2 find them either. -
I pretty much put Kid 'N Play right up there with JJ+FP. They are another one of my favorite groups. That interview waz great. Why can't all rappers be as postive, respectable, and intelligent as Play is. U just don't see it in interviews anymore. I think it's cool that he's open 2 doing another movie. I hope something comes up 4 them. Hopefully that chemistry would fix itself and persuade him 2 record again. I doubt it, but i can dream can't i? I think if their fans could unite and let them know how much we miss them, there would be a chance of something musical happening. If "Rise" comes 2 B-more, Philly, or Pittsburg, u can bet i'll check it out. I'm glad 2 hear Dana Dane is a part of it. I heard that he waz killed during 9/11 and haven't heard anything about him since then...so this article waz very soothing 2 read and know he's alive and well.

www.CyberTLCWorld.net is the best unofficial TLC website. It's loaded with newz, articles, inside sources, thousands of pictures, downloads, and so on. The message board however has gotten awful. All TLC fans should check it out, it's pretty much the way this site is but for TLC fans.
