I saw it again 2nite with a group of 5 other people. They all loved it, however we were the only people in the theater (well, it waz a Monday nite). Last time i didn't get 2 sit thru' the credits...but this time i did. There's some funny stuff going on thru' out it...so be sure 2 sit in the theater until it's totally done. Again, i waz amazed by the art in the movie...simply beautiful...the colors are great. I did notice one thing i didn't see the 1st time...where the Octopus in the background pouring a cup of tea/coffee and since they are underwater it just kinda blends b4 it hits the cup, but he still serves it.

There has been a poster or 2 in the past from Australia...but i think they stopped posting cuz i can't remember who it waz.
I know, its a stupid question, bt whats the difference between rapper and mc? is an mc doing more than just rapping or what? i dont get it... :what: :dunno: jjfp rocks the house!
A rapper just raps. Nothing more 2 it. Pretty much anybody can be a rapper. An Emcee / MC is best discribed by Rakim as someone who can "move the crowd." A rapper who can relate 2 their fans and get a reaction from them, that's an emcee. These days rappers don't know how 2 perform, put on a show, and even have a personality. FP, Run, Rakim, KRS put on a show that people love and they draw the fans in. People like Ludacris, Nelly, 50 Cent simply get on stage, scream alot, cuss, and walk around with a posse of like 2-5 no namers. When people like FP, Wyclef, KRS, and so on put on a show, they talk 2 the audience and they put on a quality show. MC Hammer did it with shiny suits and like 100 back up dancers...but people like JJ+FP and Run-DMC did with just microphones and turntables. It didn't matter the level of show...if u can reach people, u are an emcee. Rappers these days just don't know how 2 perform

Will the best perfomer EVER?
JumpinJack AJ replied to the real big willie's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, those who have dissed or underestimated him are the same people who dream of being him or are following a path that he himself paved. -
The 1st installment waz dope and FP waz already featured commenting on that one. I guess we can expect 2 see him in all of the other episodes 2. Thanx 4 posting this!

2 the average old skool head, it's filled with common knowlege. But 4 those of u who are younger and a fan of old skool...CHECK THIS OUT!! It's great!! It's got the legends telling the story. Kool Herc, DJ AJ, Sugarhill Gang's Wonder Mike, DMC, Russel Simmons, Grand Master Flash, Fresh Prince, MC Lyte, Ice-T (and i'm only half way thru'...this is great. FP talks about the early fantasy style of Hip-Hop. His hair is short and he's wearing a smooth red shirt with a colorful tags in the background...slightly like the early JJ+FP videos but with less white.
-
Right now i'm watching VH-1 "And Ya Don't Stop." This is common knowlege 2 me...but 50 fans need 2 watch this now and skool themselves.
-
Right now i'm watching VH-1 Hip-Hop special....looks like i'll be listening 2 alot of my Sugarhill Gang + Kurtis Blow type stuff 2nite...ha ha. Gotta love the early stuff.

I'll keep my eyes open 4 it. THANX!!

I've broken this down b4...but let me do it again. Hip-Hop music is any kinda music coming from Hip-Hop culture. Mary J. Blige makes R-N-B music...but she also makes Hip-Hop music. Listen 2 the lyrics...listen 2 where she's comin' from. Just cuz she isn't rapping (tho' she has), it dosen't mean she isn't a Hip-Hop artist making Hip-Hop music. Rap music is simply music with someone rappin' on it. That's what G-Unit is. Those guys aren't saying anything that has 2 do with Hip-Hop culture. They are simply rapping....not emceeing. Look at the difference. Emcees like FP are rockin' the mic, being themselves (whether it's popular or not), they take life and put it in2 music. They got heart and intellegence. They got real DJing and beatboxing when neccessary. People like Nelly just rap. Do u really get anything out of his music lyrically...dose it really represent the lifestyle of people who buying the albums?!?! Let's be real...there's a difference between people like Fresh Prince, LL Cool J, Rakim, Chuck D, Run-DMC, Talib Kweli, Guru, Heavy D, Treach, 2pac, KRS-One and people like Ja-Rule, Nelly, 50 Cent, Lil' Scrappy, Chingy, and Master P. U can like what u want...but don't u dare mix that up. 2 honestly say people like 50 Cent are Hip-Hop is like spitting on the game. Like what u want, but try 2 fool other people.

Sharktale $300 Million Worldwide... and counting
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Will Smith Movies
That's what i'm talking about!! This will probably also boost the soundtrack sales...which will remind those movie goes that FP still rocks the mic. -
Whether G-Unit makes good music or not is a matter of opinion. THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF OPINION. G-Unit makes rap music, not Hip-Hop. Where's the Hip-Hop in their music?? There isn't any, i've heard some of their stuff...there isn't even any substance. It's like Chinese food...it may satisfy some people 4 a lil' while, but they leave u begging 4 something good shortly after. How can u say u are a Nice & Smooth fan and throw G-Unit in with the same class as them?!? Don't act like their music is anything alike. And it is kinda true that an army of suburban kids are giving G-Unit most of their success. Whenver i'm in a music store it's always the young teens lookin' at G-Unit CDs...i've never seen someone 20 years or older looking at a G-Unit or any of their solo CDs. On top of that, i see lots of young kids walking around in G-Unit clothing and i just wanna crack their ignorant heads 2gether. Not once have i seen a grown person wearing G-Unit shirt. That's the facts from AJ's point of view.

This isn't a matter of opinion. G-Unit makes rap music...not Hip-Hop. Where's the aspects of Hip-Hop in their music....THERE ISN'T ANY!! I've heard some of their stuff...there's no Hip-Hop in there...or substance 4 that matter. Saying G-Unit is Hip-Hop is just as silly as saying Guns + Roses is Hip-Hop.

De La Soul "De La Mixtape: Remixes, Rarities, & Classics" Wanya Morris (of Boyz II Men) Presents "Millennium Renaissance" Wyclef feat. Refugee Allstars "The Carnival" Warren G "This DJ" single
-
U missed it...it's "Got To Be Real" Mary J. Blige feat. Will Smith...track 6.
-
I think i picked up on pretty much everything the 1st time...but i could tell that the audience didn't cuz there were a few times where i waz almost the only person laughing out loud.
-
I think that if these new skool fans were properly educated on real Hip-Hop music, u wouldn't see people like Nelly, Ja-Rule, Lil' Scrappy, G-Unit, D12 selling so many records. If they knew what Hip-Hop music waz really about and how could it could be, people wouldn't waste their time and money on the trash they do. It's like the industry is built 2 hold down the real artists.

Will the best perfomer EVER?
JumpinJack AJ replied to the real big willie's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I think FP is one of the best performers ever. Musically, he's creative and his himself in his music. He stands up 4 his own believes even tho' it makes him somewhat of an outcast. He's a great live performer...he draws his audience in and puts on a top quality show...something almost nobody in Hip-Hop can do. As and actor he's versitile very talented. The man under the hype is also incredibly funny, intellegent, kind, and articulate. FP is one of the best performers ever seen and he's very underrated. -
That movie is so good!! I'm so happy with it...i'm gonna start making plans 2 see it again already.
-
All those pop artists he attacked in 2000...i enjoy all of their music more than his these days.
-
Eminem ain't no player...he just gets played like a game. One of my friend's friends waz actually one of the girls at the VMA's from 2003 who waz right next 2 50 Cent during his performance (in the beginning). She said that at an after party Eminem kept trying 2 talk 2 her and followed her around 4 awhile. He didn't get any tho'....she said he's like 4 feet tall and kinda weird.
-
I wazn't trying 2 say FP wouldn't wanna collaborate with old skool artists. In fact, i think of all the successful artists out there, old skool talent has a better chance of making music with FP then they do with anyone else. FP give props 2 the old skool all the time. The news lately seems 2 lean towards him only working with new skool artists on the charts (Petey Pablo and Ludacris). I think the track with Mary J. Blige waz good 4 a soundtrack and i expect good things from his work with Timbaland...but i'm dreading hearing the stuff with Luda + Petey. The track/remix with Elephant Man could be alright...i guess we'll see.

cheack it and just vote plz :-|
JumpinJack AJ replied to jedi2002jaime@hotmail.com's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't think the fact the single is delayed has anything 2 do with the voting options...but i'm just happy 2 have a new song on the way. Since the album isn't slated until January, we may not hear anything 4 another month or so. ENUFF TALKING ABOUT "SWITCH" UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING NEW 2 SAY!! -
I like the logo...i would wear that if it waz top quality. Personally i'd like 2 see a white logo on a short sleeve shirt. Sometimes when u make shirts like that thru' companies, they put the same size logo on different size shirts. For instance, the logo on a small or mediem size shirt would be the same size on an XL shirt. I like my stuff kinda baggy and wouldn't wear anything smaller than extra large...and wouldn't want the size 2 be considerably smaller than the shirt itself. Just another thing 2 consider. I love the logo tho.'

latifah has a rap album ready to go..
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Caught in the Middle
I just cant' bring myself 2 buy this album...but as a long time Latifah fan, i'll have 2 get it sometime. It would feel right putting it in my Hip-Hop CD section...but how am i gonna seperate it from her other albums...that's like getting a divorce and making the kids live in different houses. When i find it real cheap online, i'll get it. TAXI comes out this week...i can't wait 2 see that. I hate Jimmy Fallen, but if anyone can make one of his movies barable, it would be her. I waz just looking at the album (again) 2nite. My friends were like "what r u lookin' at" and i'm like "Queen Latifah's new album...i can't get it tho'...it's some weird Jazz/Soul/Pop cover album." None of them knew it came out. One of them is a Hip-Hop fan, and the other 2 are Top 40 fans so she's not really reaching anyone with this album at all.
