  1. I like VH-1 "And You Don't Stop" series. I think they've done a better job than MTV and even BET would have done. I think they do a fair job of being honest about each era but i agree that they spent 2 much time on the East Coast / West Coast Feud and overlooked a some artists and albums of the 90's. It's funny 2 see your grades 4 the episodes. I don't think it waz really VH-1 fault. Look were the music went. They had no choice but 2 downgrade what they were focusing. While they space out who is interviewed 4 each era, the artists of certain eras seem 2 dominate the episodes. None of the really old skool artists stuck around 4 the later episodes. Most likely cuz they didn't have anything nice 2 say about the commerical trash of recent years. Only the fellaz who seemed 2 stay busy and in the public eye like FP, DMC, and Hammer got some shine in the later episodes. It's also sad that only a few of the newer guys had something 2 say about the old skool Some of them clearly aren't even skooled on old skool...very sad.
  2. VH-1 aired "TV Moments: Eminem." I watched the 1st half of it and it reminded me how much i used 2 love Eminem's music. He waz so creative and funny...AND HIP-HOP. It makes me il 2 think about how dope he waz and how much he sux now.
  3. Grandmaster Caz is a old skool DJ. He waz actually in the VH-1 episodes "And You Don't Stop." Melle Mel is a lyrical legend. He's a part of Grandmaster Flash + The Furious Five. He's one of the illest emcees Hip-Hop has ever seen. He has the strongest verse on legendary track "The Message."
  4. Hey rappers!! Follow FP's example. Maybe if u stop callin' the ladies B!+ches + Ho's, maybe u'd get a real lady by your side. Props 2 FP!!
  5. Oh yeah...and Brandy ain't on the track. Where'd u come up with that?
  6. Jamie...no offense...but what's up with the stupid ?uestions. Everytime u post, u make a poll or ask a ?uestion and it's usually something u already asked or it a ?uestion that has a very well-known answer. Please contribute 2 the board and stop spamming it with silly stuff.
  7. I havn't gotten that far down in my collection...here's a list of others i came across. FP - Candy BOW WOW + JAGGED EDGE - Hey Little Momma FOXY BROWN - If I... FOXY BROWN - No Ones PEP LOVE - The Birds & The Bees NICK CANNON + MARY J BLIGE - Whenever You Need Me NICK CANNON - My Rib NICK CANNON - If U Need Me PUFF DADDY + R. KELLY - Satisfy You QUEEN PEN - All My Love
  8. Nah, i think the stuff should keep comin.' With The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air just hitting Nick At Nite, i think the timing is perfect. 100s of people want 2 see the series on DVD but the interest has sparked more since it hit Nick At Nite. Look at the success of I, Robot and Sharktale. They are both great films and they are totally different...and big succeses. And the music...well, that's where it's at. He serves as an alternative 2 the trash on the charts. He's making music 4 himself and 4 people in general. Most cats are making music for the money and fame...and that's why they have or will fall flat on their face. Besides, with all the hype behind him, the music is the only way 2 meet the man himself. Movies certainly can't do it. It's been a huge year for FP...i sugest he keep it comin.'
  9. What's with all these simple polls?? They're gettin' a lil' played out.
  10. I wanted 2 come up with a list of Hip-Hop love songs. I'm not talking about songs about girls and sex tho'...i'm about songs with some decent subject matter. For example... LL COOL J "I Need Love" JJ+FP "The Things U Do" Kid N' Play "Gotta Good Thing Goin' On" TLC "Somethin' U Wanna Know" JJ+FP "Can't Wait To Be With You" Heavy D + The Boyz "Got Me Waiting" LL Cool J + Boyz II Men "Hey Lover" A+ "All I Need" Fresh Prince "Candy" Fresh Prince "Chasing Forever" Marky Mark "Best of My Love" LL Cool J + New Edition "Candy Girl" Fresh Prince, Jada, + Tra-Knox "1,000 Kisses" Bow Wow + Jagged Edge "My Baby" Brand Nubian "Always Mine" There's alot i didn't list but will soon. Please add any trax that come 2 mind. I wouldn't want them 2 be anymore light weight than "Candy" and no rawer than Method Man + Mary J. Bliges "All I Need." Feel free 2 also list R-N-B trax featuring emcees like Jon B + 2Pac "Are You Still Down" Carl Thomas + LL Cool J "She Is"
  11. I feel u on that. 2Pac is one of the most versital emcees (as opposed 2 what many commercial fans have been exposed 2. Jon B is one of those smooth artists who can do it all from the commercial R-N-B 2 neosoul styled R-N-B. No offense 2 R. Kelly and Jay-Z, but i got their Best of Both Worlds album and it dosen't have much 2 offer (and i'm a pretty big R. Kelly fan). Jon B + 2Pac would have come up with an amazing album!!
  12. I wazn't tryna come across that way but i see what u mean. Forgive me 4 that. Just speakin' my mind.
  13. I hate shifty DJ's who don't play what's requested. I used 2 go 2 these clubs for teens when i waz younger. I'd always request old skool and true skool Hip-Hop but they'd always ignore me. I used 2 go around with petitions 2 get my songs played. It waz also a great way 2 start talking 2 girls in the club.
  14. Yeah, i hope they air all of them back 2 back one nite. VH-1 is airing tons of related things they've done in the past. They were airing ULTIMATE ALBUM feat. Run-DMC "Raising Hell," Behind The Music:Aaliyah, and so on...so check it. VH-1 Hip-Hop Honors airs this upcomeing Tuesday. I've seen the commercials and it looks dope.
  15. I never even heard of that track u just mentioned. Fill me in!!
  16. Very cool. That makes me wanna hear the song even more...just when i waz being patient. Thanx 4 sharing that!! Sounds like something creative is on the way!! If FP did more than 1 track with him...i trust Kwame has some real skillz on the boards.
  17. Man, i waz just watching the 4th episode where most of it is focused on the East Coast / West Coast feud. Nealry all of it is focused on 2Pac and Biggie. Like the other episodes, it just took me back 2 certain places in my life. I saw most of it and but didn't see any Fresh Prince on this episode. One thing that really stuck me as interesting waz where MC Hammer waz talking about 2Pac's shooting. MC Hammer and 2Pac were friends, and we have yet 2 hear the songs they recorded 2gether, but this is what showed me that they had 2 be pretty close. I knew MC Hammer visisted 2Pac at the hostpital but Hammer said that when he heard rumors of the people coming back 2 finish him off while in the hospital, he said he would repeatedly drive around the hospital checking 4 suspicious activity. That's crazy...that's love. How many emcees or rappers come 2 mind that would look out 4 somebody like that and even put themselves in danger.
  18. Some of u might remember the 1997 hit by Jon B. + 2Pac "Are You Still Down" (no confusion with his track "R U Still Down (Remember Me)" off the album of the same title). 2 me, it waz crazy seeing an unlikely combo like that come 2gether and create one of the best songs of the late 90's. On Jon B's new album "Stronger Everyday" there is a song called "Part 2" which is a sequel 2 the 2Pac track "Happy Home." Johnny J produces the all new beat 4 the song AND IT'S DOPE. Even tho' 2Pac wazn't their 2 create the song, the chemistry of "Are You Still Down" is still there. Unlike the new doctored stuff with Eminem and 50 Cent...this track is perfect and it dosen't come across as a cut and paste project. They take adlibs from other 2Pac trax and put 'em in the mix so that it feels like they are playing off each other. My ?uestion is how can Jon B and Johnny J put 2gether a track this dope but with 2Pac's newer albums alot of the trax are just not natural. For Jon B fans and R-N-B fans, the rest of the album is very good. One of the best R-N-B albums in a long time!! Other cameos on this album are Babyface, ODB, Tank, Scarface, and Beenie Man. Oh yeah, and 4 anyone who is totally left in the dark about Jon B...his career jumped off from his track with Babyface on the Bad Boys soundtrack called "Someone To Love."
  19. I don't ever really believe there is anything else released. I think we know about all of it. When we found out about "Don't Fight The Feeling" i think almost all of us were hesitant 2 believe it waz real.
  20. I know u are a dedicated follower, i waz just sayin' in general.
  21. I'm watching the 3rd episode right now focusing on the 91-94ish era. It's focusing on the uprise of "gangsta" rap from The Chronic. Man, this is takin' me back 2 a crazy time in life. This episode is kinda funny cuz not much of the old skool artists and Hip-Hop historians have much 2 say...it's the same people over and over again. Dr. Dre and Snoop are speaking and they are showing old footage and interviews of the early Deathrow and 2Pac. MC Hammer and Fresh Prince didn't say anything until they started talking about 2Pac. Both of them gave props 2 lyrics 4 how he came up and his lyrics...but other than that, they didn't have anything say. Let's just say "if u ain't got nuttin' nice 2 say...don't say nothin.'"
  22. I havn't heard it yet...but Talib Kweli always has my support. That guy has skillz. He's an emcee that can do no wrong. I'll be checkin' 4 it tho.'
  23. 50 Cent did change his style. I used 2 listen 2 some cameos and mixtape stuff stuff back around 1998 and he style is very different...at least the stuff i heard waz. It waz better than what his style is now. Bottom line, he's sell out 2 his original style. Listen 2 the music...the proof is there. I'm not saying 50's fanbase is exclusivly white teenagers...but the older people know better and they aren't gonna be attracted 2 music like that. Not most of them who are really in2 Hip-Hop.
  24. Yeah, at least shortly after the album drops. If it's not sucessful, it's probably not worth even trying tho.'
