I know there are 2 message board topics about Overbrook's message board, but i feel that i won't get heard unless i start a new post. This is just something 4 everyone 2 think about. The new message board is FP's OFFICIAL one. His camp runs that. People are trippin' cuz they don't like the colors...how elementry is that. The reality is, since that is his official board, new people are more likely 2 pop up there then they are here. It's up 2 the hardcore fans 2 welcome those people, make them feel at home, and keep them hooked. Not every new person on that board is gonna come in there saying empty stuff like "he's so hot." If u take a look over there, there's almost none of that. There are some very basic topics like "What's Your Farvorite Song?" but that's cuz the message board is new, it's like 2 days old. What do u expect. That message board over there is his main source of checkin' up on fans, what they think, what they want. This isn't like his board on Colulmbia. This will always be the main message board 4 me, but there is definitly no reason 2 ignore FP's Overbrook board. I think it's important that we embrace that board and help it grow when it comes 2 stictly FP topics. It's not like u can't post the same thing over there that we post on this board here. After all, Jazzy Jeff's board ain't all that, and some of u still pop in over there. Don't sleep on this oppertunity.

Well, FP hasn't given that much info about the album...so they are going on what they know. On top of that, it's a gossipy topic making it hot newz. After all, look at Michael Jackson. They'll ignore any good news about him, but if he dose something weird or has someone file a lawsuit against him, it's all over the place. That's what they do with celebs.

THE ACTUAL SWITCH SINGLE COVER
JumpinJack AJ replied to cataboy3's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, that looks like the back of Promo. The only difference is that there is more room at the bottom where the credits are. -
I got my "Switch" promo CD single in the mail 2day. It dosen't have a cover but it dose have a basic back insert. The back is with with "WILL SMITH" in big black letters (same font as most of the Big Willie Style single covers) with a black box under it with "s w i t c h" in red letters. Here is the tracklisting and credits... --- 1. Album Version 3:17 2. Instrumental 3:15 3. A Cappella 3:15 Written By W. Smith, K. Holland, L. Bennett Produced by Kwame "K 1 Mil" for The Beat Factory/Arlene & Co. Vocal Production by O. Banga for Overbrook Productions www.interscope.com www.willsmith.com www.overbrookent.com Original Version aperas on the forthcoming Will Smith album Lost & Found --- Looks like Omar produced the vocals and Kel Spencer co-wrote some of it. When u listen 2 the instrumental, u can feel how much life FP brings 2 the track, cuz it's not nearly as bangin' without the vocals. The A Cappella version lets u hear the adlibs and vocal efx that are easy 2 overlook in the song. The coolest thing i never noticed waz that in the 1st few bars, there's a vocal track under FP's rap of him screaming the lyrics along with the regular vocals.

I think that if anyone is a real fan and plans 2 be here alot, they'll go thru' the 'trouble' of registering.

When did FP ever give Eminem props? He never really commented on him until his comment on how disposable his fame was. And i think he called it correctly. People are still supporting Eminem, but his fanbase has altered 4 the worse...just like his music.

Yeah, i loved "Juicy"...other than "Party + Bullsh!+" and "A Bunch of N!$$@s," that waz my 1st taste of Biggie. But when i heard "Big Poppa," i waz like "what is this crap?!?" -
FP has always been good about his language. Most of his parts in movies don't cuss 2 often. The Bad Boys movies are in a class of their own...ha ha...it's almost expected there. But his other movies limit the cussing alot. Outside of his music and movie, he seems 2 not cuss 2 often. As i look back on TV apparances, interviews and stuff like that, he rarely cusses. He walks the walk and talks the talk. Why would he keep his music tasteful and then go around cussing up a storm. FP has said that the F-word is is favorite cuss word. When u reach a boiling point of anger, it'll help u feel better...that's what he says. I don't remember any F-words in Hitch tho'...i'll be seeing it again Thursday tho.'

Thanx 4 the article!! That is the power of have real fans. FP keeps knock down walls...he's unstoppable.
-
Great article!! THANX!! They can keep Ludacris and Petey Pablo of the album 4 all i care. Unless Kanye West really comes with it, i don't care 2 see him pop up as an artist. Some of his rhymes are great, but i'm not feelin' half of them, and his flow jumps from ill 2 making me ill.

I don't think people really appricated 2Pac after his passing. There were Hip-Hop heads who went out and supported him, but mostly commerical music/mainstream fans went out and got his stuff. Me Against The World (his best album) did well when it waz fresh, but it didn't go as far as he wanted. When he passed, Hip-Hop heads who slept on it and bought it, which sky rocked Me Against The World's sales after it has been off the charts for months. Most of the people who made his sales high from that point on just got in2 him cuz of his murder. I'm not saying those people can't be genuin fans, but if u weren't following him while he waz alive, u have no idea what the man waz really like. And all those post-death albums are doctored remixed hodge-podges with not true album concept...u can't get out of them what u could on his real albums. 2Pac is easly the most misunderstood emcee ever. Love him or hate him, most people don't know anything about the man. Back on topic tho'....Jeff loves Biggie's music, he plays it in alot of his sets and has called him out as one of his favorite rappers. FP on the other hand have give 2Pac props numerous times in interviews. They were also friends. -
"Superflyman" is rumored 2 be a b-side from FP from 1998/1999. I have the feeling it dosen't exist tho.'
-
It may have been. I don't think JJ+FP were creating songs and saying "this one is meant 2 be a single" tho.' It waz during "He's The DJ..." that Jive desided they wanted JJ+FP 2 be that "Girls/Parents" and try 2 make them look like they did one thing.
-
Some people are just stupid. This would be one of those cases.

The murders of 2Pac and Biggie actually helped get FP back in the game, not turn him away. It waz the change Hip-Hop and Rap took in 1992/1993 that killed his dream 4 it. While he liked Dr. Dre's "The Chonic" album, it waz that same album that trashed Hip-Hop/Rap. Nothing but fake ghetto tales and non-talent rappers started coming out. 2Pac's "All Eyez On Me" waz an album FP really admired. Not for the "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" stuff that everyone else liked...but 4 trax like "Wonda Why They Call U B!+ch" that actually had tons of subject. During that time when the murders occured, it waz the music of The Fugees, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul that gave him that extra push 2 let him know he still fit in the game. B4 he hated the path the music waz taking, but he saw talented people with something 2 say getting attention and he knew that he could do it. It waz that music that inspired him and that's what got him started on Big Willie Style and actually recording again. If it wazn't 4 their murders, the Hip-Hop community and Rap fans maybe wouldn't have wanted 2 hear something new and not so heavy. -
In the early JJ+FP shows, they'd drop a word or 2 u'd never hear on a JJ+FP album. They were young and Hip-Hop shows back then were totally different from how they are 2day.

When are the other seasons being released?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Don G.'s topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I've noticed alot of DVD sets being released between 6 months 2 a year after the previous season. It just depends on the company putting it 2gether, the demand 4 it, and the sales. -
1. There were a few short parts in the trailor that wern't in the movie. I guess that just means we can expect some extras on the DVD. 2. I didn't hear FP's voice at the end of the movie. Are u saying u heard it as "Now That We Found Love" waz playing? I'm seeing it again on Thursday so if u tell me where 2 pay attention, i will. Sometimes Heavy's adlibs can sound like FP's adlibs w/ a lower voice. 3. I didn't notice any bloodshot eyes. I did notice that the overall color of the film didn't contrast much. It's a romantic comedy so the shooting style isn't like what he did with stuff like I, Robot and Men In Black. No crazy lighting was used so i think it just made FP come across looking a lil' more natural in his appearance.
-
I haven't listened 2 the full version in awhile...but i don't remember any of that. I guess i'll have 2 pop it in.

Like most things from Japan, it's pretty rare. I've only seen 2 of them, one of them being the one i own.
