Don't trip...just vote 4 it, support it, and get the word out there.

FP's style isn't really any different. It's just the year 2005, ya know? His lyrics are actually more like his older stuff than his stuff on Columbia. The sound is experimental, but FP has taking his music 2 different places on every album. He's not selling out his style at all. If u got down with him during his reign on Columbia, i could see how "Switch" may seem as a departure from his more recent stuff...but he's not doing anything his hasn't done b4...he's just more focused right now. There isn't gonna be any cussing or gangsta rubbish on the album.
-
Yeah, that waz taking on the set of Enemy of The State. 1997/1998.
-
DESTINY'S CHILD - Soilder VH-1 aired it...so luckly it waz the Radio Edit without T.I. and Lil' Wayne. Still the weakest song on the album, but the lack of presence from those garbage rappers makes it a lil' better.
-
I think the Making-Of episode waz during the 4th or 5th season. I've only seen it aired once, which i waz lucky enuff 2 have taped. I'm assuming they'll include it on the season it goes with, but there's no way 2 look that far ahead at this point.

Boy, u must be on dog food.
-
Where did u read she waz in the "Summertime" video. I'm not buying it...that video waz filled with family and friends from Philly.
-
FP will never go gangsta. He's dissed gangsta rap his entire career. There's a rumor that his stuff will be harder every album...this ain't nothin' new.

Earlier i waz listening 2... Sam Cooke - Portrait of A Legend It features a decade worth of hits from the legendary soul singer. "You Send Me" is my joint...but it also has "Bring It On Home To Me" which waz covered in ALI...and "A Change Gone Come" which played in ALI. Now i just popped in the Hitch soundtrack...cuz i just wrote that review on the I Make This Look Good board.
-
I got the Hitch Soundtrack the other day. I have a feeling most people here won't like it much. I think it's biggest weakness is that it dosen't flow at all. Mostly good music, but they are mixing brand new songs next 2 old songs and it just dosen't make sense. It should have been all new music or mostly just old music. Here's my review... AMERIE - 1 Thing Apparently this is the 1st single. Amerie's 2002 album is amazing. Sugary sweet vocals and timeless production. This songs dosen't represent that at all. The music is high energy, percussion filled music with no soul 2 it. She also dosen't get 2 show off her vocal ability on the song at all. Good song, but nothing special..and not nearly as good as most of the stuff on her debut album. JOHN LEGEND - Don't You Worry About A Thing This one waz waz produced by Will.I.Am of The Black Eyed Peas. His music is usually great, but this beat isn't as good as most of his work. John Legend also dosen't sound at home compared 2 the stuff on his album. Very average song. EARTH, WIND, & FIRE feat. KELLY ROWLAND + SLEEPY BROWN - This Is How I Feel Ahhhh...now we're talking. This song is pretty good. It's got a nice, retro beat u can groove 2. Sleepy Brown sounds very boring, like alot of the other stuff he's done. He's a good talent, but alot of his stuff seems boring. Kelly Rowland sounds great on the track and really outshines Sleepy Brown. MARK RONSON feat. GHOSTFACE KILLAH, NATE DOGG, TRIFE DA GOD, and SAIGON - Ooh Wee This beat is really nice. They could have taken it 1 step forward, but it's very good. The talent on the track is kinda forgetable tho'. Nobody really stands out. HEAVY D + THE BOYZ - Now That We Found Love This is one of my favorite songs of all time from one of my favorite groups of all time. Heavy D + The Boyz with Aaron Hall on the hook and Teddy Riley behind the boards. His waz song all i listened 2 back in 1991, along with "Summertime," "Mama Said Knock You Out" and "2 Legit 2 Quit." It dosen't really flow with the soundtrack at all...but i can't wait 2 see how it's incorporated in the movie. MELENI SMITH - Happy This is my favorite song on the soundtrack. I don't know anything about the artist, but she's got skillz. It's a breezy, radio-friendly R-N-B song. Look 4 this song and give it a listen. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! THE O'JAYS - Love Train Classic R-N-B funk from a legendary group. This is where the oldies kick in. Great song, but i've heard it 100 times. THE TEMPTATIONS - I Can't Get Next To You Another oldie. I like this song, but of all of the hits The Tempations had in the 60's...this is one of my leave favs. JIMMY CLIFF - You Can Get It If you Really Want Never heard this song b4. Don't really care 4 it...skip it everytime. MARTHA REEVES + THE VANDELLAS - It's Easy To Fall In Love (With A Guy Like You) Back 2 the really good oldies. Great song. EARTH, WIND, + FIRE - Reasons Here's a dose of 70's R-N-B soul. Nice song...but not one of my fav oldies. OMARION - Never Gonna Let You Go (She's A Keepa) Man, i waz expecting something dope 4 this song. As a fan of B2K and the Platnium Status crew, i expected this 2 be the best song on the album. However, it's got Omarion singing over a retro-funk type song. No where near as great as "O." KEVIN LYTTLE - Turn Me On (Low Tide Remix) Here we are with a remix of a song that waz huge over the past summer. This is a dance/club remix of the track. I like it alot....alot, alot!! FP served as the Executive Music Producer while James "J.L. - The Hammer" Lassiter waz one of the Soundtrack Executive Producers. Both of them are listed as producers of the movie. The soundtrack is also an Overbrook produced (naturally). The CD insert has a few pix from the movie in it.

It isn't in heavy rotation and there hasn't been much time 2 get it on there. Just keep supporting it and get others involved. "Switch" is fine...don't lose faith, it only debuted a few days ago.

Fresh Prince Finally Right To My Door
JumpinJack AJ replied to alexanderrr03's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't see what they could do for special features. Granted they should have had more people involved 4 the documentary...but isn't really anything they could put on it. After all, it waz the 1st season, they probably don't have 2 much backstage stuff that would amount 2 much. And i don't think JJ+FP music videos belonged on there at all. After all, in future releases, i'm sure we can expect those behind-the-scenes and the 100th Episode special on the respetive seasons. They'll probably do like In Living Color and have a documentary for each season. -
"Just One Of Those Days" Appreciation Post
JumpinJack AJ replied to Freshest Prince's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Storytelling has always been FP's strong point. It's still there 2...just look at the "Willennium Interlude" and "Act Like You Know." Ain't a thing changed. -
There really isn't a difference in the music...they just take the beat out at certain parts o the song. Musically the 12" Mix is the best in my opinion...it's just longer with background vocals and more music.

Will Smith's formula for a happy marriage
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jazzy Julie's topic in Will Smith Movies
Yeah, that is simply trash. Is that from a tabloid magazine i assume? If it's not, it's obvious that overseas newpapers either have no sense of humor or are 2 stupid 2 undestand American humor. The funny thing is, the author's e-mail address is at the end of the article. I think we should all e-mail then and instult their reporting skillz. -
Well, the Single Edit and Video Version are both shorter versions of the song, but the there is part of the music taking out from under certain parts of the song. Unless u pay attention, u wouldn't even notice. Jeff's rap waz shot during the video...not as part of the song. :dunno:

Huh? Can someone say "Off-Topic Board?"

The bonus feature on the 1st Season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a documentary focusing on the show called Back To Bel-Air. It talks about how the show originated and features commentary and interviews from the writers, directors, and James Avery, Tatyana Ali, and Joseph Marcell. They also talk about DJ Jazzy Jeff and Dumb Dancin' in the documentary. I really didn't expect much more than this so i don't think fans should bug out. I didn't watch much of it yet, but i'm being reminded how rarely they re-ran some of these episodes. Some of them i've only seen once and it's been so long that it's like seing them 4 the 1st time.

There's definitly nothing wrong with more websites. The more the better...as long as they are maintained. I think it's important 2 link them 2 this site since it is the center of info. -
I cut in on the show during number 7 on the countdown...so i missed most of his stuff, but here's what i saw......... Da 'Prince waz dressed in casual street gear. Dark brown streetboots (Code Red style), baggy bland blue jeans w/ his traditional big belt buckle, a tight-white, long sleeve shirt with unbuttoned tan short sleever shirt over it with a tan hat (which waz alot like the black one i went 2 buy the other day, 2 only find out that someone else bought it, THEN 2 find out the next day that my best friend who went 2 see JJ+FP at the MTV Beach House waz the person 2 bought it  ) Anyways, i cut in where they asked him what waz the most romantic thing he did for Jada on Valentine's Day. He talked about what he did for her B-Day instead, saying that she came home 2 an empty house where he had taped a DVD on the door, she popped it in and it waz him saying he wanted her 2 go upstairs, get dressed and go outside. When she did that, there waz a CD of him in the car saying 'just get in the car, u don't know where u are going, but to sit back and find out'. The car took her 2 a restaurant in San Fransico where he waz waiting 4 her. Then then premiered "Switch." Before they aired it, he talked about the title "Lost + Found." I waz right when i 1st said what i thought it meant (had 2 rub that in). He said that the title speaks of him when it comes 2 music, that sometimes he's in the zone when it's ready 2 do an album and sometimes he's not. It kinda funny cuz in so many words, he waz saying that he waz really not in the zone when he did Born To Reign...but that with this new project, he waz back where he needed 2 be. He also said it spoke about his life and Hip-Hop...that sometimes they are both a lil' lost and then found again. Then they aired the video....which waz insane. It couldn't have been more perfect. Keep in mind, i chose not 2 see it here on the site. I wanted the full effect and that's what i got. They cut the audience at the end and they were loosin' their mind!! Just seeing FP in person is and amazing thing...but 2 see him AND the video, a return 2 some of his illest stuff, they were in awe. U could see it in their faces. They got 2 audience member reactions. The one guy waz a big FP fan and just said that the beat, the video, the girls waz all tight. Then they cut 2 a girl who just waz hyped and talking about the dance. Later they asked him what true love is. He said that true love is different 4 everybody, but that a relationship should have a life/death/life theme. Things start up, go great, then eventually a relationship has the potential 2 die...but true love will make both sides work 4 it 2 work out, and live again. Right b4 he left, he announced it waz Free's birthday and that b4 he left, he had 2 give her something....he ran off and came back with a huge basket full of girly stuff.
-
Yeah, most of u aren't very good at sharing details with this kinda stuff. I just cut in at number 7 on the re-run...hopefully i didn't miss 2 much.
