  1. I can't even try 2 answer this. I can give u a list of 30 albums that believe deserve the title tho.'
  2. Yeah, very old news. The original version of this news waz from 1998. De La Soul did 2 a track with DJ Jazzy Jeff tho.' It's on King Britt's album Sylk 130.
  3. I think the reason he's using commercial rap artists beats in performances is 2 show that he can hang with the guys who are on the charts. He's just showing that his ear has been tuned 2 what's hot and that he can do the same they are doing...HIS WAY. It's a way 2 drag in people who normally wouldn't pay attention 2 his stuff 2. If someone is a 50 Cent fan and dosen't really listen 2 FP, they might hear him rocking over 50's beat and that'll spark an interest in them. That's just my guess.
  4. I think this post is the perfect example of how JJ+FP reaches out 2 people of all walks of life. All ages, backgrounds, races, etc. And the cool thing is, 4 the most part, we all just vibe with each other. I've known Wes 4 a long time and i never felt that there waz a real age gap between us...of course he's quick 2 point that out in this post. :cwm:
  5. Yeah, there is the TLAC Remix, which is a reworked version of the original (pretty similar 2 the original version), and the Candyhill Remix, which is totally remixed. There's also an extended version of this remix.
  6. People brought this up a few weeks ago. I saw a commerical for that album...that's 1 more time than i saw the 1 for FP's Lost + Found. There's no way any lawsuit could come out of this tho.'
  7. That's really weird that Run would do a rock influenced album. He's the one who listens 2 Hip-Hop and dosen't even listen 2 the guest artists on Crown Royal. DMC's solo album waz called Thugs, Checks, + Rock + Roll....with the Hip-Hop/R-N-B/Soul/Rock/Folk mix. The reason DMC wazn't on Crown Royal much waz becuz he lost some of his voice. He can't rock the mic as aggressivly as he used 2. The fellas were just on 2 different pages. The next Run-DMC album waz supposed 2 be mostly straight Hip-Hop and the guys were gonna merge their styles so DMC could participate equally. The next Run-DMC album waz gonna be huge, it's a shame things happened the way they did. R.I.P. JMJ
  8. "Tell Me Why" is supposed 2 be the next single. I think it would do better as a single if it were released in the fall. If "Switch" starts droppin," i think an upbeat track would work best, then drop "Tell Me Why" in September. As least release a promo 2 radio, like "Party Starter" or "I Wish I Made That." The Reggae Remix of "Switch" should be getting radio play soon if radio stations support it.
  9. GWEN STEFANI - Holla Back Girl She's looking absolutely delicious in the new video.
  10. I'm thinkin' the same way, but as a civil rights icon, i would be kinda mad if a song waz named after me and the group never even contacted me 2 see if it waz cool with me.
  11. U sure u aren't talking about DMC's album. DMC's album waz gonna be a fixture of Hip-Hop/R-N-B-Soul/rock/and a dash of folk music. Run is the one who doesn't even listen 2 rock. Back in 2001, he complained that he didn't even listen 2 the rock artists he had on their album.
  12. I think the lawsuit waz a lil' silly...but i'm glad it's all over with.
  13. Ahhh!!! Dope news!! Stuff like this makes my day!! Run's 1st solo album!! I'm hyped!! Rest In Peace JMJ
  14. I have a JJ+FP dream once or twice a year. I think the last one i had waz about a year ago. In the dream, i found out that my girlfriend waz gonna surprise me by having FP come by my house b4 i had a party. To throw everyone else off, i contacted Jeff and told him about the situation and he agreed 2 come over as well. When FP showed up, i surprised him and everyone else by bringing out Jeff. Silly dream, right?
  15. On a slightly related note, my friend, who is a Star Wars freak, said that FP waz gonna have a split second cameo in the next Star Wars movie. Why he is a Star Wars freak, he isnt' always the most trustworthy person. I guess we'll find out.
  16. If u are refurring 2 FP saying "Jazzy on the wheels"...it's him saying it on the radio show...not on the track.
  17. Welcome 2 the board!! U'll get used 2 these boards soon. It's nice cuz if u aren't in the mood 2 read about certain things (like his movies), u don't even have 2 hit up the movie board. It's just a more organized way 2 check out the latest news and discussions.
  18. Or u could buy the albums. :toetap:
  19. Sometimes it's politics. Sometimes the lable pushes to not include the song on the album, sometimes the lyrical content isn't something the label wants (for instance, maybe someone would have thought "Ms. Holy Roller" was 2 aggressive and kept it off the album), and sometimes the label of the guest artist can keep the track off the album. One thing that nobody knows, but i do cuz of connections, is that "Pump Me Up" waz originally intended for Big Willie Style, but Jazzy sampled so many things in the original version that they couldn't clear all the samples. The version of "Pump Me Up" on Willennium has fewer samples and apparently is pretty different from the version they recorded for Big Willie Style. That would be a situation where clearing samples kept a song off the album.
  20. Most albums are made from lots and lots of tracks. Lost + Found had 2 have at least 50 tracks. He's been working on it since when he waz filming Bad Boys 2. I was actually really happy that none of the Petey Pablo tracks made the album. There were some of the earlier trax he recorded. Born To Reign had at least 30-some trax he recorded. It would be really interesting 2 hear the songs that didn't make that album since he waz experimenting so much. There isn't really isn't any news on how many tracks he did for that album. I'm sure all of the unreleased track are great. During that time, FP did a song or 2 with Michael Jackson which will probably never see the light of day. Wyclef is one of the people he supposedly worked with. Big Willie Style had a handful of trax that didn't make it. The one i wanted 2 hear the most were "Keep It Real" w/ DJ Jazzy Jeff and "Just Wanna Blend" with Warren G. He did another track with Warren G and also did a love song for Jada that wern't released.
  21. There wazn't really untalented people on the Hip-Hop scene back in the day. Like FP says in "Scary Story" "deals wazn't a dime a dozen." I don't think wack artists started popping up until 1989. They started crashing thru' the door during 1993. After that, the downward spiral in Rap music has continually gotten worse and worse.
