Q-TIP + BUSTA RHYMES - For The Nasty

I'm so back and forth about Kanye West. I didn't plan on getting the album until after hearing it (2 see if it waz worth it). However, i went out 2 pick up Rihanna's album (which is amazing) and saw Kanye's album at Wal-Mart with the bonus DVD. I picked it up just 2 remind myself of the song titles and who waz on it. For some reason i had this crazy feeling come over me that i should get it...so i did. Most of my opinions are similar 2 FuQ's. I'm not gonna break it down, but the bests go from average to very good. Kanye's flow is never that impressive, but hardly ever really bad. And his lyrics go back and forth from inspiring 2 just doing the job. Out of all the commerical Hip-Hop and Rap out there....i'd put this album right under FP's and BEP's. Of course there aren't really any good albums on the commercial front so that dosen't say much. When i got College Dropout, i hardly listened 2 it. I think i'll listen 2 this one more, but it'll never get heavy rotation. In these days of commercial Hip-Hop/Rap....this album is as close 2 a breath of fresh air as u'll get. Out of 10, i'd give it a 6 or 7. Is he overrated...YES. Is he talented...YES. Is the album on the level of FP's, Common's, or BEP's...NO.

Melle Mel is one of the greatest emcees of all time...but i can't imagin him saying that. I'd like 2 know the source b4 i shake my head in disappointment.

I don't think Puffy's hosting waz that bad. The only thing that i thought waz really stupid waz his "performance." The dancers, the water, the special effects were all very cool...the probably waz, he wazn't even performing a song...ha ha. It waz just akward. I kinda liked some of the spontanious stuff he did. MTV Awards have never been about Hip-Hop so i don't know why articles like this wanna complain. It's just an award show.

I thought it might b4 cool 2 release them both at the same time. But then i got thinkin'...and that woudl probably have them competing against each other. It's hard enough 2 get his stuff on TV and on the radio, so i think it would be a bad idea 2 have the singles going up against each other.

Well, they've never premiered a video on the awards now...why would they start now? On top of that, it would be weird 2 watch a live event like that and spend over 3 minutes watching a music video. It just dosen't make sense.

I think he can revive Lost + Found even if it takes awhile for the next video, it's just gonna be alot harder if that's how he dose it. The hype dies away a little each week. If he really found the rapper in him, why is he waiting so long 2 get things jumping off?

I can't leave FP blameless on this one. Come on, he's in charge of his career...reguardless of record labels and stuff like that. He's not pushing for Lost + Found 2 do anything. He's not performing or doing interviews.

I can't believe that u guys are saying the beard is keeping things from happening. FP could shave it down 2 it's normal level and it would be back 2 that other length in about a week. Either way, there are special efx and make that could fix that. The bottom line is that something needs 2 happen now. Releasing the single 2 radio is doing nothing. I just think "Tell Me Why" is the way 2 go.

Man, i think they should just put "Party Starter" on the back burner. Autumn is in full swing. Kids are back in school, the college campus is filled with huneyz, the sky is white, the weather is getting cooler (almost overnight), and vibe is just in the air. 2day is the 1st day i've bumped Lost + Found straight thru' without skipping from track 2 track. I listened 2 "Tell Me Why" for the 1st time in awhile. That September 11 stuff really came back 2 me when listening 2 it...the sniper stuff waz more powerful on my mind (since that also happened closer 2 this time...and cuz they caught him 5 minutes away from where i live), the annisversary of 2Pac and Jam Master Jay's murders are approaching. Life just dosen't feel like a party. I say they just get this "Tell Me Why" video off the ground and on the air...NOW. "Party Starter" should come out after "Tell Me Why" runs it's course. After all, "Tell Me Why" is a guarenteed hit where as "Party Starter" isn't guarenteed...since radio hasn't embrased it at all. Hey, they did it with Aaliyah. "More Than A Woman" waz done before "Rock The Boat" and they flipped their releases and it just felt right and also did her legacy better. The party can wait if u ask me.

I just got "The Truth." This song is amazing!! Probably better than every song on The DEFinition. This is what Hip-Hop is about. If u like songs like "Lost + Found"...then u'll love "The Truth." :::goes 2 make a new LL mixtape:::

I saw the video the other day. I love Sean Paul and i like this track alot. I just wish i had 4 the summertime.

I think this whole feud is stupid, pointless, and immature. However, i like that people like Fat Joe are dissing G-Unit, cuz they are trash. 50 started it so Fat Joe is just playing along i guess. It's still just really stupid.

I don't know why everyone got so caught up. They don't premier videos on the VMA's. And if they did, it would just be weird.

I'll never say that Puffy makes some of the best Rap/Hip-Hop music. But he dose love and respect real Hip-Hop...at least old skool. He masterminded that MC Hammer performance and i wouldn't be surprised if he had something 2 do with Grandmaster Flash helping bridgy the show. Puff definitly did a decent job handeling the show.

When i watched the rerun, they totally blocked out like 10 seconds of audio...so u couldn't hear a thing they said. Did the original airing have more audio in it i assume? If they did, what waz said. I'm curious.

I never doubt my man Tim. He's always breaking newz and stuff....but even after i saw this post earlier, i just didn't get excited. I just kinda knew it wazn't gonna happen 2nite.

"Don't Even Try It" dosen't have an instrumental. There isn't a single or promo single 4 it.

I'm watching the VMA rerun right now...i picked up right where i left off watching the original airing. G-Unit is wack...their immaturity dosen't even surprise me. Fat Joe is just okay in my opinion...but G-Unit makes him look like Rakim.

I didn't read any of the previous posts in this topic...but i never thought Lost + Found waz FP's best solo album. I've always thought it waz very different from Big Willie Style...but just a lil' bit better than BWS. Lost + Found still can't touch Willennium.

I know that there are a good bit of MC Hammer fans on this board. Did y'all check that mini VMA performance?!? Outta nowhere, Puffy just introduces him, and next thing u know, MC Hammer and a squad of dancers are on stage tearing it up 2 a updated and remixed version of "U Can't Touch This." Since Puffy asked all the people involved in the show 2 dress 2 impress, Hammer's whole team outshined most of the people were on stage that nite. Hammer waz in a smooth gray suit, untucked dress shirt, pink tie, and a white due rap....with signature sunglasses. Their moves were tight and even tho' he really ripped one version, Hammer waz tight on the mic. All i can say is "WOW." Immidiatly, Black Eyed Peas got 2 the feet and lost their minds. Alicia Keys, John Legend, Destinty's Child, Kanye West and half of the other celebs there got 2 their feet and the crowd went wild. Man, he's needs 2 come back and remind people how much energy Hip-Hop used 2 have.
