  1. Now it'll be my turn to vote! Rock on!
  2. Thanks much. But I think I would have to disagree to a point that we'll look back at old music and think it's good. My bone for the most part in todays music is that what was good back then, is still good today but just doesn't get any play, if that makes any sense. I mean the old rockers can still release new music and have it be enjoyable, such as Jerry lee Lewis - Last man Standing, Temptations _ Still tempting and a couple of others. The Problem is that though millions of people may like their music unless you actively go out and search for it you'll never hear about it. I never would have found out about those two albums unless I got bored and did a google search to see what they were up to. Now I make it habit to do so. Any who, i think I've just posted more then i usually have with all my old posts combined.
  3. I'd have to agree with you. Though i don't think it's necessarily that people can't sing for me it's mostly what people sing about. Everyone seems to sound the same while if you look at great musicians of the past, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and thats not even scratching the surface, they all can sing but they all were unique in their own way. And i completely agree with the sentiment that no one should have to look for good music, I've done that more then once. On a side note i wrote something with the same title as this thread back in june, basically ranting about how I don't always like todays music, so i figure i might as well share it. Maybe it’s just me but music today has just been letting me down. When will I hear music that will make Beethoven roll over. When will I turn on music in the midnight hour and hear some sweet soul music. When will I turn on the radio and be all shook up instead of making me want to shout. Maybe I wasn’t born under a bad sign, maybe just a bad time, when will the singers of new show the rockers of old some respect. It seems like people today got no time to sit and listen to what’s being played. What happened to the good old days of traviln’ bands on their way to the Promised Land. Oh boy! I’ll admit I ain’t too proud to beg for some good old music. It’s true that today’s music ain’t got the same soul as that old time rock and roll. Just ask the likes of Maybellene, Peggy Sue, Tulane, Long Tall Sally, Mustang Sally, and Charlie Brown. It’s like I’m cutting green onions and need to wipe my tears with some Chantilly lace. Maybe I just can’t get no satisfaction, but until I hear something good, I’m walkin’ because I’ve got the key to the highway, but until then I’ll keep rocking to my rock and roll music . Listen People, ain’t that a shame that we’re in a ball of confusion as far as music is concerned. But I’m hooked on a feeling that a change is gonna come.
  4. I thought she had a style that was remenisent to the old style but i thought what she sang about wasn't any good. And to be honest she kinda scared me. But i believe this artist lended her band to her and i have to say i like this group much better. It may look old but its new. Edit: I suppose it wouldn't hurt if i would actually put up the link. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8ouI5KcyHfE This song is good too http://youtube.com/watch?v=Iq9nb5WpMb8 I was surprised that i actually found one of their albums at walmart.
  5. Who ever made this video added Jazzy and the Prince's picture in it. Thats pretty cool, i like a lot of the new songs that are coming out has this theme in it.
  6. Show's you how much i know, i was looking around youtube and came a crossed the So Fresh Music Video, i never even knew they made one. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a place where i could watch a better quality one then the one thats on youtube. It was really good, i always loved the song but never saw the video. Here is the link to it if by chance someone hasn't seen it, even if you haven't its still worth watching anyway. I love the little sketch in the beginning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icqHCucFKGU
  7. I doubt anyone here knows that I like to wright. I don't ever really try to be too deep, generally just writing fictional stories about random stuff, nor do I think I'm particularly good. But I figured since everyone seems to be wanting people to post more, this is all i really can think of posting. I wrote this pretty quickly for some friends a month or two ago when we were going through a tough time and a lot of people were down. I don't really like to see people down, so i generally get looks from people when i try to crack a joke or something to make people happy, I don't like to see people angry and crying so its the only thing i can think of doing to make people happy. Any way, I'm sure there are going to be a lot of mistakes in this, but i just don't want to change it from what i originally did, i never proofread it or anything but I figured if anyone is ever down or something just breaks your heart, I'd like to think that this little bit of writing might make you feel a bit better. No matter what just smile. It’s common for most everyone, that when we leave the shelter of our childhood and enter into the uncontrollable and at times unhappy beginnings of adulthood, to view the world as a downward slope. What happened to the rainbows and gumdrops wonderland of yesteryears that we so fondly look back on? As best as I can tell, it never existed. It was all just an illusion, and imaginary fantasyland created by the very people we are destined to become. We need to understand that life has and always will throw stumbling blocks in our way. It was our parent’s job to move aside those roadblocks and protect us from tripping. Whether it was excluding us from the “grown up” talks or telling us that we couldn’t do something, it was all to cover up the painful parts of our life and give us those moments we love to look back on. Now our parents have stepped aside and let us charge forward to reach for our highest highs, but remember the lowest lows are always close behind. Our parents are no longer there to shelter us, so we must tread carefully and take everything in stride, but trust, we will fall. We’ll still shed blood, cry tears and feel that excruciatingly painful knot in our chest. We’ll choke, we’ll break, we’ll scar, and we’ll utterly fail. But we will all succeed, never forget that. We’ll laugh and smile, and jump for joy. When you’ve reached rock bottom, don’t forget you’re not the first to crash there, but remember you’re not alone. Look back at those happy times and trust that there’s more to come, so get back up and dust yourself off, and if by some chance you need help look around and grab the hand of the people who are still standing because they’ll need you when their time comes. Just remember our dreams will come true, and so will our nightmares, but our happy times will outweigh the sad ones for sure.
  8. I have a feeling I may be out of place here, but I've been listening to. Sam Cooke- Good Times
  9. I'd have to say Brett Favre.
  10. You mean the one where you told people not to bring back old posts? If thats the one your thinking of then its a couple threads down.
  11. I actually really enjoyed Jerry Lee Lewis's new album. Pretty much all of the songs are covers but he does sing the majority of them with an original singer. I really liked Rock and Roll and Pink Cadilliac. He can still play his piano, i think they made a cgi music video for pink cadillac on youtube, if anyone's interested.
  12. I never saw the first one, i've never been a big F4 fan. Though i do hope transformers will be good, for the sake of G.I.Joe. Most likly if Transformers does good then they'll make a G.i.joe movie, though the comments made by the guy who wants to produce it and the last two script reviews i have a feeling the movie may be very bad. Though they do seem to want Mark Whalberg to play Duke.
  13. Theres other copies of it on there, you just have to search.
  14. I actually thought that was funny. I can't wait for this movie, always loved the first two.
  15. I guess i'm a little different, Will Smith and just a few other rappers, are all i really like in rap. I guess i'm not really different, i like almost anything, Including Polka's. The music I really prefer though, is oldies. Now here comes my real reason for posting the topic. Does anyone else ever have a problem finding a way to get to a concert. I don't really go to concerts much, the last one i went to was the Beach boys. Anyway, I have three people on my figuritive list of people i want to see before, well, soon. Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and John Fogerty. It seems that everytime they come even close to where i Live i have something else to do. Chuck Berry goes to illinois during finals week. Jerry Lee Lewis is in New York, which is too pricy and far. The Only hope i seem to have is for John Fogerty in Milwaukee later in the summer. I hopefully can make it to that one. Basically, does anyone else ever have the problem of finding a way to see the people on their "List," just interested.
  16. What does "ENGAGANATION" mean? I know it would be too optimistic to say it would be a new album. So what does this mean.
  17. I'm a Packer fan therefore i have to root for the colts.
  18. I really miss Slamball, I always liked Steel.
  19. It doesn't have much to do with JJFP but if you go to this page http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_dai...ent/index.jhtml Under the video "Full Corps Press" at the end they show a picture of Jazzy jeff and Will smith with John Kerry's head over Will face. Just thought i'd share it with you guys.
  20. I got the 60GB video one and i love it. Its basically replaced my radio in my truck. I use Itunes and find it really easy to use, though i believe you can use windows media or realplayer to do it too. It all depends on how you set it up, you can either have it so you can update it manually and put the songs on your self or you can update it automatically. I prefer to do it manually so i can have full control over though.
  21. I don't think the person's saying its news, just wants to know what the lyrics are implying.
  22. This looks good! I'll give it a try, Transformers movie check, TMNT check. I'm still waiting for a live action G.I.Joe movie.
  23. Sorry, but i don't really come to this section that often so i don't know if this has been posted. Theres a behind the scens thing where will talks about the movie. http://www.trailerdownload.net/remote/1596
  24. But hasn't will stated that he would no longer go by the name fresh prince because he's grown up? Mabey he could change it to the cool king. Just joking. :3-laugh3:
