3. On page 9 of the June 27 - July 3 issue of TV Guide, they have a page featuring their rating of other emcees who are taking similar paths of the Fresh Prince. Insead of being rated by stars, they are rated by lil' FP heads. Here's what it says... --- INSIDER: What's New, Who's Hot, What's Next HIP-HOP MIGRATION More and more rappers are following what we call the Will Smith plan: Use the cachet gained from a hit song to charm your way into your own sitcom. From there, leap into movies. The onetime Fresh Prince of Bel-Air pioneered the formula, which was followed-with varying degrees of succes-by Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, and Ice-T. Now there's a new batch of MC's on the plan. Here's how they rate on our Will Power scale. - Rochell D. Thomas EVE (3 1/2 FPs) This 24-year-old Grammy winner has sold more than four million albums, starred in three hit films, launched a clothing line and her own TV series. And her next Will Smith move: Sharpening her "serious actor" chops in the indie drama "The Woodsman." METHOD MAN + RED MAN (3 FPs) The MC dream team had a hit with the college set with their 2001 pot-head flick "How High." With that coveted demogrphic behind the, it's no wonder they landed a high-profile-and funny-summer sitcom. MC LYTE (2 FPs) In the 90's she could "cold rock a party." Now the Lyte (nee Lana Moorer) is just another actor waiting for a big break. Small guest roles and a gig on UPN's Half & Half have yet to show us any Will Smith crossover appeal. MISSY ELLIOT (???) On MTV and singing Eve's jammin' theme song, she can do no wrong. But until we get a chance to sample her mid-season UPN reality show about hip-hop hopefuls, we'll wait and see if she can work it in prime time.
4.
but the Boom! one i never had...is that the 1995 version? thats really dope
Yep, that's Hula's Club Mix done in 1995.
5. 2Pac actually recorded a good bit of trax without cussing. And he recorded alternate versions 2 most of his singles where he dosen't cuss at all. However, Deathrow is really stupid and hasn't put most of those versions out...they just do sloppy editing jobs on the explict versions. Off the top of my head, here are some trax he recorded with alternate-clean versions. The songs with astrics (*) are songs i have the alternate lyrics 2. Pour Out A Little Liqure (Thug Life) 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted* How Do You Want It* I Ain't Mad At Cha* Live & Die In L.A.* Keep in mind songs like Keep Ya Head Up, I Get Around, Rebel of The Underground, Brendas Got A Baby, Trapped, Toss It Up, Do For Love and Better Dayz don't have any cussing....unless u count the N-word in "Trapped." Back on the topic tho'...i personally don't like cussing. I don't talk like that myself and don't like 2 hear other people talk like that extensively. I think it reflects on that person's respect 4 themselves and others, shows their intellect, and what kinda person they are. I'll listen 2 anybody who has talent and something good 2 say, reguardless of the words they use.
6. When FP 1st started heavily recording for this upcoming album, Kel Spencer waz involved in the process of putting some of the songs 2gether. I'm assuming they are still cool and working 2gether. I think "Uuhhh" is a dope track, but unlike most people, i loved it at 1st and now i prefer half of the trax on the album over it. I like hearing him put other rappers in their place...but he's been doing that for 18 years so it's nothing new 2 me. I think the ideas and sounds of the other trax just make them better than this. I'm sure the original idea waz 2 keep it pretty simple tho.' Kel Spencer is just what the track needs tho' (in my opinion). Like i said, we heard FP do trax like this b4, so Kel Spencer adds that new flava of an upcoming, intellegent, hungy emcee which fits right on the song.
7. Man, i wish i lived in Cali. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Big Daddy Kane, Black Eyed Peas, Blackalicious....sounds good 2 me.
8. I have tons of new/creative ideas 4 a site of my own but i doubt i'll have the time, money, and time 2 get experienced 2 ever put it 2gether. If my site was up, it wouldn't compete with Tim's or anyone else's tho.' It'd kinda fill in the gaps of what other JJ +/ or FP sites are neglecting.
9.

:hilarious: :hilarious: boo ya!! 12, 000 posts in a few months.. the people have spoken :switch:
The fact that the old boards are gone didn't help either.
10. Man, his mic skillz aren't all that..but i feel kinda bad 4 him. The Puffy of 2day is improved from the Puffy of yesterday. Hopefully it'll make him step back and look as his music and the music he produces and change it 4 the better.
11. The album waz actually recorded 4 a real record label (Interscope pops in my head 4 some reason) but the album waz ignored and left 2 die. There were actually promotional copies of the album printed up...but 99% of them are bootlegs when u find them online. When i waz a big fan of Em's...i nearly got it a few times but never did. I heard over and over again that he didn't know who he waz when he recorded it tho' and people said he kinda bit Nas' style. If i would have gotten it back then, i'd probably sell it 4 money if it sell 4 a high amount of money...unless it waz dope of course.
12. Will is gonna take care of himself as he gets older and he looks younger than he is already. I'm sure he'll look the same but older when he gets older.
13. I saw it when it 1st came out on video. I waz kinda young and it didn't keep my attention thru' the whole thing. It hasn't been released on DVD here in the US. I'll get it when it comes out. I'm sure i'll like it alot more now that i'm older but it's not my kinda movie.
14. It's definitly Jill's time back out. It's been ages and the timing is perfect. I saw Fighting Temptations and i think u are talking about Angie Stone...not Jill Scott. Jill Scott is on the Kingdom Come soundtrack. I never saw that movie but maybe she has a cameo in it.
15. If i'm lucky enuff 2 access the board 2nite from the computer in my room, i'll post a list of all the non-album trax + remixes by JJ+FP...as a group and solo. It'll also contain al the trax with scratching and/or production by Jazzy Jeff.
16. "Higher Baby" waz done stictly 4 the Barcelona Gold album...it wouldn't make sense on a JJ+FP album in my opinion. I have 2 copies of the Barcelona Gold: Coca-Cola Sampler #3 CD that contain the track.
17. Skee-Lo Young MC Heavy D (+ The Boyz) Kris Kross
18. There's a difference between music being distributed thru' the internet and music being pirated. If music is just being pirated...it's just wrong. Think about it, one of us puts "Switch" up on this board, then all 200-some people registered at the board, most of them not being posters or even real fans just take the song and never intend on getting the album. The internet is much bigger than this message board so the song could be accessed by millions of people which otherwise could result in millions of sales. Think about how many places Born To Reign popped up on the internet 2 be downloaded. I know there are good sides 2 getting music out there, but they seem 2 be highly outweighed by the negative aspects of it.
19. If the song has hit radio or a video has been released, they probably will. If not, they'll probably play Gettin' Jiggy Wit It, Miami, or Freakin' It. Since there hasn't been anything heard commercially from FP in awhile, they might just play a song like "Shake Ya Tailfeather" since it waz a huge hit tied 2 Bad Boys 2.
20. I never saw it...i intended 2 but it didn't say in theaters 2 long. Some of my friends said it waz actually pretty good.
21.
Didn't I see Xzibit in 8 Mile?? Mmmmmmmmmmmm Do I smell a hypocrite? :blah: :dink:
Yeah, but Xzibit didn't get paid 20 million 2 do it. I think they both have their points, Xzibit just dosen't know how 2 convey an idea without sounding ignorant. I myself don't like the whole internet music pirates who are just giving out music that people should be paying 4. What part of that dosen't sound like stealing. FP is right in seeing it as a way of getting exposure and promotion, but i think Xzibit is right in stressing that some people who just wanna do music are severly hurt by people who are trading and giving away music online. Don't side with FP just cuz he's are boy....i know i'm not the only person who can see the obvious.
22. I think it'll be a new skool version of most of his 90's albums. There will be a more serious, life-oriented track on there, a party track or 2, and old skool and/or DJ record or 2...u know....your traditional multi-flavaed Hip-Hop album.
23. Welcome 2 the board!! I know i come off kinda strong on my opinions...but most of us do on this board. I don't really talk about stuff that i don't check in 2 tho.' Not 2 get off topic but i waz a BIG fan of Eminem's when he came out. I thought he waz one of the most creative, witty emcees in the game (cuz he waz). But his 2nd album dipped in2 other things that i didn't care 4 as much. But the time The Eminem Show came out, i waz kinda sick of him. I did borrow the album from somebody tho' 2 give it a chance. He's dose have some skillz, but i don't think he uses them 2 much anymore. I try 2 give everything a chance and make my opinions from there...or stress that my opinions are based off whati have heard. I still can't agree that Eminem belongs anywhere in the top 10 emcees...20 for that matter. No disrespect. I'm hyped 2 see a new person posting about JJ+FP. This community is growing in a big way.
24. JJ+FP performed "Black Suits Comin'" and a medley of "Act Like You Know" and "I Can't Stop" (which sounds very good live). Don't 4get the interviews 2!! If u can eventually get all that stuff up, i know i speack 4 everyone when i say "THANX!"
25. Y'all won't believe this. I waz 13 when "Boom! Shake The Room" came out and i didn't get the single becuz i thought Code Red waz coming out shortly. My brother did get the single and i made my mom play it in the car. I learned "Boom!..." and "From Da South" with the quickness. However, when Code Red came out, i waz like "Where is 'From Da South'?!?!" I got a ride back 2 the mall as soon as i could 2 get the single so i could own it but they no longer had it. Months later my brother waz incredible nice and gave it 2 me...which waz a surprise cuz as i look back, i waz a jerk as an older brother back then. It wazn't until 1999 when i 1st started getting stuff on ebay when i finally got it on CD. I used 2 look thru' pawn shops all the time trying 2 find the CD version.
