"Everybody and their mother" is a phrase meaning everybody. It's just a comical over the top way of saying it. When FP 1st started acting, all the sell-out talk started. These days u have LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, 2Pac, Mos Def, and DMX with respectable acting careers. Then u have Ja-Rule, Nelly, and others TRYING 2 act but not really making any moves with it. FP states it perfectly when he says "Now every brother and his mother in rap be tryna do that."
-
Yeah, they gave props 2 "Summertime"...that's about it. But u can tell by what they perform. When they do shows, they always do "Brand New Funk" if it's not a big commercial thing. Of course FP mentions it on the "Willennium Interlude." FP put his own time and money in2 "So Fresh" without the help of Columbia. FP also made sure 2 perform "Act Like You Know" during Born To Reign promotion.

THANX!!

Maybe once or twice...but i like her so it's forgiveable.

Diana Ross + The Supremes "The No. 1's" But now i'm poppin' in MTV's Uptown Unplugged featuring Heavy D + The Boyz, Father MC, Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, + Christopher Williams.

Great!! I think it should have gone gold faster tho'. Rap/Hip-Hop albums these days by artists who have a mainstream following go platnium straight out the box. Hopefully "Hush" pushes it 2 platnium leading 2 more videos, singles, touring, etc. I don't know if i want Queen Latifah on FP's new album...her current album is worse than the Born To Reign stunt when it comes 2 experimenting. Ha ha...just playin'...i'd love 2 hear something from them 2gether.

U can find an official copy of "The Ripper Strikes Back" on DMX's 1st album. If u find the limited edition when the album 1st dropped, it's on a bonus disc which also included trax and snippets of "new" music from Onyx, Slick Rick, Def Squad, and Ja-Rule (b4 he waz mad wack). I agree with u on that track...it's vicious. More agressive than 2Pac's "Hit 'Em Up" in my opinion. It's more lyrical than personal...which is how it should be. Notice LL and Canibus are still alive.

I didn't notice that until the 2nd time i saw it...and i lost it!!

I never watched Miami Vice so i could care less that he turned it down. I wonder if FP pointed him towards Jamie Foxx. Jamie is blowing up but since him and FP are close, maybe he suggested him.

In The House November 1st UK/16th US!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
So go out and get it!! There's some people who need 2 go out there and support Jeff. If u aren't a big fan of his cuz u are a Will Smith fan, that's fine, but there are some so-called JJ+FP fans out there that don't support Jazzy the way they support FP. -
No newz of a Christmas album....but maybe Tim can resurrect the "Born To Ski" post. :hilarious:

That and "Then She Bit Me"

I don't follow sports at all. I waz in a bar the nite the Yankees/Red Sox game and i got so annoyed. I waz just hanging out with friends and talking but all these half drunk idiots were yelling and getting all loud since the Yankees were losing. I don't think they shut up until like 1 in the morning.

I don't mind LL's street stuff....but i really like his current stuff. He's a family man who's been doing this forever. To talk like he's in the streets everyday would be phoney. I just like hearing LL record stuff i can relate 2 from the 1st track 2 the last. The lyrics are straight forward and something that kids can listen 2 as well which i admire alot. I don't mind if he gets gritty for another album, but i don't want the lyrics 2 get explict. U can hear explict stuff anywhere. The production on The DEFinition covers all bases...straight Hip-Hop (Feel The Beat), R-N-B love joint (Hush), slick commercial track (Rub My Back), club banger (Headsprung), ghetto-fab party joint (Move Somethin'), straight lyrical joint, (1 In Da Morning). Like all great artists, there's more 2 the album than the singles. LL is just a standard 4 what a legend should be in my opinion. I can't wait 2 see the video again. I think it's flawless.

There's A God On The Mic is a movie based off Kool Moe Dee's book that features real emcees. Apparently FP is in the movie amoungst other emcees who actually have skillz. I can't wait 2 see it.

I didn't read any of the replies in this post. I just wanted 2 say that "U Saw My Blinker" waz clearly intended 2 shock fans and grab attention. It's one of the funniest songs he's ever done. He's rappin' all hard and droppin' the b-word at the end of each verse. Listen 2 the lyrics, it's the most rediculous story in the world 2 be so serious about. FP actually performed this song live on MTV. I had it on tape but my parents taped over it!! :bang: They also released it as a promotional single. My friend let his grandmother hear the song and she thought it waz hilarious...i find that really funny. The song obviously did what it waz supposed 2 do, cuz people are still talking about it 2 this day.

I can't believe u typed that. "Dance or Die" is a bouncy track (unheard of in 1993 since all those fools were playing gangsta back then). FP comes with this lyrics that seem hard, but he's speaking as the music that's intended 2 get the hardest thug off the wall and on2 the floor. Very creative song. I don't remember it being in the movie tho.' If it's in it at all, it's probably just the instrumental for a moment. It would be stupid 2 have FP rapping in a movie he's in. I also didn't notice Kwame producing the track. I've had the soundtrack for 10 years but never checked the credits 2 Del's song.

Mariah Carey - My All

Yeah, no more Born To Reigns. There is STILL no excuse 4 how poorly it sold. It may have been an experimental album, but that's no excuse 4 it 2 at least go platnium. It's up 2 us 2 get the word out there, pick the album up the week it drops, and try 2 keep people from uploading/downloading the album.

I like Queen Latifah's since she played a totally different person on her appearances. William Shatners waz hilarious. And Boyz II Men waz just in one of the best episodes they made.

Somethng I'm not feelin' about these new boards
JumpinJack AJ replied to Vipa's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Well, i wazn't gonna whine and complain..but since everyone else is...i really do hate the border around the board (which is why half of us need a horizontal scroll bar). I also personally like more color on the board, but Tim gives it a face-lift every few months it'll have a new look probably around summertime. -
Sadly tho', FP dosen't look like he's rushing 2 get the album out AND his break from doing movies is running out fast.
-
Ha, if u are getting news from a page like that, u can pretty much call it trash. It's so sad that people try so hard 2 put dirt on FP. He's livin' right so it's gonna be hard 2 find stuff 2 put on him. Tabloids suck!!

In The House November 1st UK/16th US!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Cool, i can't wait . I almost got an advance copy of it 2 weeks ago but since it didn't have inserts, i figured i'd wait 2 get the official release. If it waz actually new music and not a compilation/mixtape, i would have gotten it.
