  1. I think the real ?uestion here is "why?." I just picked up the new ROots album 2nite (and i'm listening 2 it right now). Like DMX's new album, i love half the trax and the other half leave me wanting more...mostly becuz of the musical direction. I don't really have a negative opinion on Peedie since i don't know anything about him...but the track featuring Peedi is one of the weakest songs they've ever done. I don't see why they'd add anyone 2 the group...there's no reason 2.
  2. LL COOL J - Mama Said Knock You Out (For Steering Pleasure Mix) Mama Said Knock You Out (CD Single) (1991)
  3. Very cool....i can't wait 2 get it. I don't know why they call it Old School tho'...only half of the songs are considerably older...and i wouldn't even consider those old school.
  4. JESSICA SIMPSON - I Don't Want To Care A Public Affair (2006)
  5. I think Nelly is a big part why the song isn't doing 2 well. I think alot of people have realized how untalented he is and they are sick of hearing his awful voice. Lover her or hate her...Janet is a megastar and having someone like Nelly on a song with her makes no sense. She needs 2 go 4 the artsy and deep vibe of Velvet Rope or the simplistic heavy urban vibe of Janet. if she wants 2 rejuvinate her career. That light R-N-B sound is nice, but i think she's staying in the safe zone which gets kinda predictable. I love Janet....i hope this album is alot stronger and gets lots of success. The album cover itself is worth the price of the average CD.
  6. October '96 huh? I've actually been coming here pretty much since u opened the site...very cool. It's amazing 2 think back on the sites humble beginnings...ha ha.
  7. They were in B-more....AND I MISSED IT!?!?
  8. DJ HONDA + MOS DEF - Foundation We Don't Play CD Single (1999)
  9. I've already seen the cover...and i love it. I'm definitly ready 4 another Janet album...but i'm hoping it's a lil' more heavy like Janet. or The Velvet Rope. She's done the danceable, R-N-B lite sound for 2 albums. "Call Me" is a good song but leaves something 2 be desired. And it's less of a hit then the 1st single off her Damita-Jo album "I Want You." The titles of the song seem kinda boring tho'...i hope that doesn't reflect the songs themselves.
  10. SHAQUILLE O'NEAL, ICE CUBE, B REAL, KRS-ONE, + PETER GUNZ - Men Of Steel Steel Soundtrack (1997)
  11. I 1st brought this up when that Black Eyed Peas remix EP came out. I think it kinda makes sense 2 wrap up ATOJ. It's been 15 years and the company had 3 different eras of producers. Times have changed and so have alot of the people around Jazzy. So if he wants 2 do things differently, i'm cool with it as long as the music keeps comin.' A Touch of Jazz will always stand for quality.
  12. Yeah, i think someone posted this awhile ago...but since u haven't been around, u may have missed that. All those JJ+FP fans who have passed him up need 2 add him.
  13. LL COOL J + JENNIFER LOPEZ - Control Myself (Jason Nevins Funktek Edit) Control Myself Import CD Single / Todd Smith (2006)
  14. Thanx 4 posting the interview...i'll read it 2nite. But i don't think the album has come out unless he did it in a very small way. I follow all the new releases and never came across a new Keith Sweat album.
  15. "Alot like LL, Chuck D, Slick, + Doug E." Notice he's not mentioning any phoney, unoriginal rappers. Snoop is versitile. He has good songs and bad songs...good lyrics and bad lyrics. He's been stayed consistent over the last decade. And strangely enough, he fits in on "Pump Ya Breaks"...tho' i could easily see the song being just as good without him. The Lil' Kim colabo happened just cuz she waz popular at the time. They have nothing in common and they aren't personal friends. And's amoungst the 3 weakest songs he's done ever. And the Petey Pablo trax didn't see the light of day 4 obvious reasons. FP likes 2 mix it up and try different things. He works with different people on every album just 2 do something new since he's been recording for over 20 years. Anyone who is trying 2 put FP in the same category as modern commercial rappers who often don't have any reality or quality in their music is just trying 2 justify their watered down taste in music. When u think of Fresh Prince, u think of Run-DMC, LL Cool J, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and so on...not Ja-Rule, Lil' Kim, Petey Pablo, Lil' Jon, Bow Wow, and Young Joc. Get past "Will Smith, mr. nice guy, megastar, media magnet" and listen 2 the lyrics. It's as simple as that.
  16. Ugh, if that's a tracklisting...i'm startin' 2 get a lil' worried. Alot of those trax sound they could be doctored trax from stuff already released...but that might be me getting it mixed up with the unathorized stuff i used 2 get. And why on earth is Ja-Rule on their. Ugh.
  17. MJ never stops working on music. It's his passion. He'll definitly be putting out music again. And there's thousands of people who are gonna get it. All that haters just have 2 deal with that.
  18. DR. DRE - Keep Their Head Ringin' Friday Soundtrack (1995) I love that slightly menacing 90's urban thump sound...this is one of the trax that has it.
  19. I've heard a handful of trax with him...and i like what i hear. I'll definitly be following him. The only thing that occasionally annoys me is his voice. I thought he already had a record deal tho.'
  20. Anything is possible. I don't think it's very far fetched of an idea for FP 2 hit number 1 or go platnium.
  21. Okay, so the topic title is obviously me being sarcastic... I waz wondering if anyone caught the Teen Choice Awards. I waz watching something else on TV, but during commercials, i flipped 2 it. At the end, Britney Spears came out 2 introduce 2 greasy white trash husband Kevin Federline who performed his 1st single. Let me just say one thing...back in the day, i hated Vanilla Ice and thought he waz the personification of wackness. These days, he doesn't bug me so much, not that i respect his old music or even listen 2 his new stuff...but he seemed pretty cool on those reality shows he did. But when Kevin Federline hit the stage, he made Vanilla Ice look good during his wackest. It waz honestly the most embarassing thing i've ever seen. He makes Paris Hilton's music career look like a solid attempt. It waz so bad that i couldn't keep it on for more than 20 seconds 2 even make fun of it. If u can track down the video or audio, peep it just 2 see what i'm talking about. I waz curious if anyone else saw the performance.
  22. I like when artists do stuff like this. It just shows that they care about more than just being famous and making money. There's a few people out there that just do it for PR and 2 toot their own horn, but there are alot of artists with heart who go out and do what they can in their position.
  23. When i watch the DVD, i'll post my review of that. But if it's as HALF as good as the LL Cool J one, it'll be worth getting it for the price of the combo alone. Since i hate cussing, i usually get edited CDs anyway so it doesn't bug me. And most artists that i like that have the explict lyric stickers don't cuss often enough that the edits stand out.
  24. damn i dont think i can go this week, cuz i ran out of money, but i'd like to hear that mixtape. i've been listening to Lupe a lot lately, ive been tellin people he's dope!
