  1. Yeah, those R-N-B trax are strictly for comical reasons. Some people are taking it so seriously. Anyone who knows Flavor Flav knows his style and how he talks and interviews. It's all fun...don't take Flav's music 2 seriously....he doesn't.
  2. LL COOL J - Pink Cookies In A Plastic Bag Getting Crushed By Buildings (Remix) Pink Cookies...(Import CD Single) / 14 Shots To The Dome (1993) It took me YEARS 2 find this CD single since i 1st saw it in stores...i FINALLY have it!! This remix waz used in the video. The old heads may remember it. Flawless mid-90's style.
  3. Flavour Flav is hilarious. Definitly one of the funniest people in Hip-Hop. He's never been considered a serious emcee and that's why he can get away with the crazy stuff he does. I'm definitly gonna pick the album up. It's been almost 10 years since he started recording to release a solo album.
  4. I hate what the internet has done 2 the music industry.
  5. How many rappers and emcees DON'T say "This is my best album ever." Nearly every musical artist says that at the time that a new album is dropping...even if they've released 20 albums.
  6. This sounds like an answered prayer. If this is true, i think most people can say they saw this coming...cuz it's no secret that he's been running the label in2 the ground. To me, Def Jam's doors closed when Russell left.
  7. Thanx 4 that article!! 2Pac was years ahead of his time. When it comes 2 lyrics, 2Pac really is amoungst the best. He gets overlooked by those who are turned off by the commercial success he had since commerical success often means crappy music. And 2Pac's sound (at least the music he actually released while alive) waz dope. Since he grew up in different places, he took vibes from the east coast and west coast and made it his own. I like how the article pointed out that wack rapper #2's work on 2Pac's music was an embarassment and how some of the doctored stuff released after his death no where near the level of quality 2Pac would have put out. I hate when people throw 2Pac in2 the same category as Biggie and Big Pun. No offense to them, but neither of them had lyrics that found relevant or could relate 2. Most of their producion waz on the same C-level that their lyrics were on. Even those who actually like them are ignorant if they toss them in the same catogory as 2Pac.
  8. I was 21. It waz my day off and i didn't have any classes that day. My mom actually woke me at 8 or 9 that morning to tell me my Uncle died (which was totally unrelated 2 the attacks). That waz sad but no real surprise due to his health. I went back to sleep and work up about 2 hours later. For some reason my dad waz home from work and said "have you heard what's been going on?" I waz like "Yeah, Uncle Bill passed away this morning." He waz like "no..." and pointed at the TV. It waz really one of those things that just didn't sink in for awhile. My heart definitly went out 2 all of the people effected by it on all levels, but it just seemed so surreal that didn't really realize exactly what waz going on. I remember that me and my girlfriend (at the time) had just started going out. Life waz just very bright, carefree, and fun at that point. My girlfriend's classes got cancelled that day and half of the shopping centers were closed. We got away and had a picnic in the middle of the woods with what waz going on as an underline to the moment. But late that nite, when i waz alone, it all really sunk in and felt like a reality. I turned on the TV and kinda soaked it all in. That nite, life just felt darker. It's amazing how TV and music changed. And how much some people changed...at least 4 the moment. While i think it's 2 much to dwell on 9/11, i think that it's wake-up call has worn off on the US. The entire world for that matter needs more heart.
  9. Actually, a handful of trax off her 1st album are R-N-B.
  10. I saw that. I few people may clown me, but actually like Shaq's music alot. And he's skillz got better with every album. That KaySlay joint actually jacks Shaq's 1996 single with The Notorious B.I.G. called "Can't Stop The Reign." I didn't know it waz off KaySlay's album, i just saw the video...and liked it. That track i waz listening 2 waz the 1st single off Shaq's 2001/2002 album that never came out. Even tho' most people probably don't feel his flow, i think they'd like this track...if they like the whole Roots/Common Sense/Joi/James Poyser type stuff since they all shined on the track. Anyways...back 2 the music... NICK LACHEY - On And On SoulO (2003)
  11. And a good remix at that. I still think that Redy Eye Mix of "Can't Wait..." is my fav tho.'
  12. As i think about it, it does remind me of something i'd do 10 years ago. Please 4give my negative vibe...i've been going thru' alot lately and i've noticed myself responding 2 things kinda weird simply becuz of the vibe i'm on at the moment. This morning, this post waz funny 2 me, last night it wazn't.
  13. SHAQUILLE O'NEAL, COMMON SENSE, + THE ROOTS - In The Sun (Shelved 2001 album - promo single) (2001)
  14. :wtf: It's times like this where i refur "Don't Say Nothin'"....'if u ain't got nuttin' nice 2 say...don't say nuttin'...'
  15. I didn't even know about these awards....thanx 4 posting.
  16. Driving withotut a license...this will get him even more street cred amoungst 12 year olds.
  17. Beyonce's new album is good...above average...but nothing incredible. I like that she stretched herself 2 do something new. Her 1st album waz good...but it waz definitly missing an edge. This album at least has an attempt 2 add an edge 2 it. I think that since she did the whole album in 2 weeks is why it not incredible. The fact that she did try 2 do alot of uptempo songs is why some of the deeper soul is missing. But i like that she tossed some life instruements in2 the mix. I like Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake...but 2 say they are the face of R-N-B is rediculous. Nelly Furtado breaks alot of music rules and has a bit of everything in her music. Labeling her is silly. Justin Timberlake mixes R-N-B and Pop with a dash of other musical styles...labeling him R-N-B is just as silly. R-N-B is Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Tamia, Goapele, etc. Beyonce did 22 trax in 2 weeks and rushed this album out. Her lyrics and vocals are amazing. The album's only weakness is that she stayed away from the slower soulful stuff (which she did on purpose) and that the album feels like a bunch of songs put 2gether...not a totally complete album.
  18. Yeah, but i'm just imaging buying 20 different version of FP's next album just 2 get all the bonus material...ha ha. I just think it's getting outta hand.
  19. Everyone on this board loves music. We've all come here cuz we have love for JJ+FP. And we are from all over the world, different ages, different races, from different lifestyles with different tastes in music. Everyone knows i love music. Hip-Hop is my favorite genre partly cuz i grew up feeling that it waz my music and partly cuz it represents alot my ideas and comes from a place i come from. R-N-B is my 2nd fav kinda music, and also got love for reggae, club music, jazz, pop, and acoustic. Most people know i have thousands of CDs (some legendary...some not 2 legendary) and i definitly love remixes and b-sides. Well, these days, many stores hook up with record labels 2 get an exclusive version of an album 2 get the loyal fans 2 shop their way...even when their price isn't the best. That idea makes sense...but it's been getting pretty crazy this year. Early in the summer, India.Arie dropped her new album. India.Arie is an amazing artist. I picked up her album at Target because it came with a bonus track and a CD with the making of her "I Am Not My Hair" video. Then i was shopping at Circuit City and looked at the album because they had an "exclusive" sticker on it. CC's version had ANOTHER bonus track. Since i fell in love with the album the way i did, i figured it would be well worth getting this version 2...so i did...ha ha. Then i waz in Wal-Mart and saw their version came with a BET Official DVD that waz an hour long, loaded with interviews, live performances, and music videos. And yeah, i got that 2. However, after busting Wal-Mart's CD/DVD combo open, i kept the CD sealed and returned it for the money...keeping the DVD...ha ha (i know, i'm sooo wrong). Anyways, Jessica Simpson dropped her album last week and CC had a bonus track. Then i saw Best Buy had a bonus DVD, then i saw K-Mart had a JS magnet, and Wal-Mart had ANOTHER bonus track. Beyonce's album at CC has a bonus track and Wal-Mart has an hour long BET Official DVD. Instead of stores trying 2 one-up the others 2 get more sales, it looks like the record companies are now pimpin' the fans by trying 2 make the loyal fans buy 2, 3, and 4 copies of their artists albums. And since sales prices the 1st week they come out are usually the best, the crazy fans are gonna get them all the 1st week the album comes out. I don't know...i haven't noticed anyone on this board going after all the bonus stuff like i do for certain artists. But i wanted 2 know if anyone else finds themselves struggling 2 deside where 2 get and album and if record companies are starting 2 take advantage of the loyal fans who go out buying albums and not downloading stuff.
  20. Thank God they resoved this serious beef before someone was sent to stand in the corner for a time out.
  21. If it wasn't for the huge success that Nick his having with his album, he might have fought 4 the money just 2 get by. But i think Nick knows money isn't everything. I've been in a situation where i settled for less than what i deserve simply becuz the negativity and drama wazn't worth it. In life, there are battles worth fighting and there are battles NOT worth fighting. I think that was his attitude towards the whole thing.
  22. I may be the only person on this board who actually like both Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, but incase i'm not, here's an article i came about. Those who like Hollywood gossip will be interested. All i can say is that Nick is a class act. ---------------------------- Jessica and Nick Settle Money Dispute Posted Sep 5th 2006 4:55PM by Harvey Levin TMZ has learned that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have divided up the assets in their marriage, and Nick agreed to less than his share in order to avoid an ugly court fight. The couple amassed a fortune during their three-year marriage, in no small part because of their MTV reality show "Newlyweds" and the avalanche of endorsements and other deals that followed. Jessica refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, so under California law the assets -- estimated at $36 million -- are to be divided equally. So Jessica and Nick should each get $18. Nick will take significantly more than the $1.5 million, but considerably less than 50% As TMZ first reported, Jessica (we're told at the behest of her dad, Joe Simpson) offered Nick a relatively measly $1.5 million to walk away from the marriage. Sources say Joe Simpson believed Nick didn't have the stomach to put up a fight over money. Nevertheless, Nick rejected the offer and the former sweethearts decided to make their divorce final and try to hammer out a property settlement. Sources say in the property settlement -- which has not yet been filed in court -- Nick will take significantly more than the $1.5 million, but considerably less than 50% of what he and Jessica earned during the marriage. Two sources in Nick's camp made it clear to TMZ that Lachey agreed to end the dispute because he does not want to hurt anyone in a contentious court battle. Ironically last week, a reporter on a red carpet relayed a message from Joe and Jessica Simpson to Nick: "They love you. You're still part of the family." Nick blanched and said "Well, good, that's nice to hear...." The reporter persisted "...Jessica will always love you." Nick's classic reply: "Okay, then!"
  23. Yeah, ebay rule number 1...never tell people who might be interested in the same item that u see it there. That will only make more of a buzz...and a higher price.
