  1. I guess with times changing and his plans changing, he just made a transition. ATOJ had been kinda quite the past year or 2. Even when ATOJ producers did trax 4 other people, they didn't always have the ATOJ name attatched 2 them.
  2. I wouldn't mind hearing them do a track since Lupe seems 2 have a real quality album on the way (at least his 1st single and the mixtape seem 2 make me believe that). But at the same time, i don't see why they would. There's no real reason or connection between them.
  3. Here's some random (and kinda funny) newz from AOL... ------------------------------------------------------------------ Snoop Dogg Puts 'Em In, 'Coach' Snoop Dogg is turning family man. The rapper -- known more for his gangsta image than Papa Snoop -- is working on a film that will chronicle his real-life accounts as a coach for his son's youth football team, appropriately dubbed 'Coach Snoop.' The MC told MTV that it won't be documentary, but rather a "real movie" helmed with the help of 'Friday' writer DJ Pooh. "It's going to be a great, fun movie that you can take your whole family to see," Snoop said. "We're in the second stage of the writing part." Meanwhile, Snoop releases his latest album, 'Blue Carpet Treatment' -- featuring such VIP guests as The Game, Timbaland, Brandy, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder -- on Nov. 21. ------------------------------- Elton John Wants to Make Hip-Hop Album Elton John is no stranger to hip-hop. He performed wack rapper #2's 'Stan' with the rapper on stage at the 2001 Grammys. LOS ANGELES (Aug. 25) - Goodbye yellow brick road, hello hip hop. Elton John tells Rolling Stone magazine that he wants to record a hip-hop album with Grammy-winning producer Dr. Dre. "I want to work with Pharrell , Timbaland, Snoop, Kanye, wack rapper #2 and just see what happens," John says in the Sept. 7 issue. "It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try." The 59-year-old says he is a fan of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" and Tupac Shakur's "California Love." "I want to bring my songs and melodies to hip-hop beats," John says. "I love these beats, but I have no idea how to get them." John performed wack rapper #2 's song "Stan" with the rapper during the 2001 Grammy awards. John's new album, "The Captain and the Kid," is due in September.
  4. Anything that talks about being "gangsta" is just a joke 2 me. Like KRS-One said back in '93 on The Arsenio Hall Show..."Real gangsters don't rap."
  5. Very sad. He waz one of the funniest people ever. I didn't even know about him until one of my ex-girlfriends turned me on to his show. He waz awesome at what he did and came off invincible with how he approached alot of the things he did on the show.
  6. I've only seen part of the awards. I think it waz very cool 2 see Hype Williams getting and award 4 his work on the amazing music videos he's created over the years. Most of them are so good u don't realize how bad some of the songs are until u heard it on the radio or on CD. Missy's mini-set was cool. Having her do a classic joint verses her newer stuff waz cool 2 me. Especially when Timbaland came out even tho' he didn't have anything 2 do since Missy waz stuck in the powerwheel...ha ha. Christina Aguilera waz breathtaking. I mean, i can't say anything other than that she waz amazing. And i agree that Jack Black wazn't very funny. I think he is naturally very funny, but from what i saw, he actually sucked at hosting the show this year.
  7. Yeah, 2 this day, "Just Cruisin'" is easly one of my favorite trax by FP...and by Trackmasters. Trackmasters catch alot of flack on this board for the mainstream trax they've done for FP's solo stuff. Like any artist or producers...some trax are better than other. But i like alot of stuff that they've done. Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne, LL Cool J, Usher, Total, Jesse Powell, Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, BLACKstreet, Mary J. Blige, CRU, Billy Lawrence, Allure, Marc Nelson, Heavy D, Soul IV Real, Black Eyed Peas, Blu Cantrell, R. Kelly, MC Lyte, Jenniefer Lopez, Keith Murray, Rihanna, Nick Cannon, Brian McKnight and more have benifited from their stuff. Don't count them out 4 a few average mainstream trax. "Just Cruisin'" is just amazing. When i saw the MIB soundtrack had another FP track, i flipped. It waz exactly what i needed...just a dope track and not a soundtrack, movie-related song. 2 me, it waz exactly what FP waz about in the 9-7. He dropped a summer track about something everybody can relate 2...just chillin' and having a day 4 yourself. Like most of his music...it's timeless.
  8. The sad thing is, these days the audio and video of the 80's is decaying as we speak. I know from my own collection of home videos and cassettes. If the few people who don't own this stuff put it on CD and DVD, it may never be perserved 2 ever come outta the vault.
  9. Yeah, the track is only on the MIB soundtrack. FP said b4 BWS came out that "Just Cruisin'" would be on the album and "Men In Black" would not be. But Columbia wouldn't overlook the Hip-Hop song that got the most radio play EVER. FP tried 2 do the same for Willennium and "WWW" but it didn't work. By the time B2R came around, he didn't even care.
  10. S.H.E. - I'll Never Leave You 3's A Charm (1997) This album has got me missing 90's R-N-B really bad.
  11. That's kinda steep. They let people with much more serious crimes off easy or give them even less jail time. Seems like they are over punishing him cuz he's a celebrity or something.
  12. I don't know...i've seen Nelly and wack rapper #1 videos where the girls are disgusting. I waz seeing cellulite giggling all over the screen an i waz wondering who actually finds that attractive. There's a big difference between healthy booty and unkept trashbags of cottage cheeze. (((did the AJ take it 2 far on that one?...ha ha)))
  13. After a long day at work...this pix make life all better....ha ha. She's beautiful as always.
  14. PUBLIC ENEMY - You're Gonna Get Yours Yo! Bum Rush The Show (1987)
  15. I can't believe they shut him down just 4 performing. That's crazy. I think it's cool that he did that tho.' God forbid they let a talented emcee rock the mic at an event like that.
  16. Kanye vs. Puffy. That's kinda like Sumo wrestling. Even if u win...ur still fat. Even if Kanye and Puffy go head 2 head...the one who comes out on top still sucks on the mic. What and idiot. I'll pass on hearing Kanye's new track...if it's half as bad as Puffy's new single, i'll definitly pass.
  17. This whole thing is crazy. LL Cool J is a pioneer and a legend. Working with 50 is obviously some kinda crazy move he's making since he's unhappy at Def Jam. I look at it this way. 50 is trash. He's as bad as they come. The fact that LL is working with him just seems like a rebellion against the people who feel are jerking his career around and ruining Hip-Hop's commerical side further. The fact that LL did that many trax that fast while working with 50 reminds me of 2Pac on Deathrow. 2Pac recorded alot of trax very fast with weaker lyrics and subject matter just 2 complete those albums 2 get off the label. The art suffered and we never got 2 see what he waz gonna do next. About Def Jam...i isn't Def Jam anymore. The artists, the quality...nothing is the same or as good. I've never really liked Jay-Z, but that has nothing 2 do with me thinkin' his running the label in2 the ground and spitting on it's name. And i think LL said what needed 2 be said. There waz no name-calling in his statements. He made his claim with class and honesty. There waz no immature "shooting off at the mouth." I really hope things fall apart between LL and wack rapper #1 and that this album never comes out. And that someone who is actually smart will take over Def Jam.
  18. For the most part...the females in Hip-Hop videos were much prettier tho.' Have u seen some of the girls in the recent videos. Not much 2 look at if u ask me.
  19. I have a bunch of cassettes from back in the day. The reality is that cassettes really hold no value. I suggest u just keep them 2 say u were down with JJ+FP way back when.
  20. I havn't seen the video in almost 10 years...but i don't remember a set like that in the video. Facination with booty existed long before Hip-Hop.
  21. Yes, there are stupid people in this world. I wazn't convinced until now.
  22. Just knowing he waz affiliated with Beenie Siegal would turn me off 2 him. I've only heard his stuff on the new Roots album. He seems okay, but that's no reason 2 have him join the group.
  23. Ebay is the most common place 2 sell that kidna thing. People here may be interested in them. But at the same time, it's hard 2 just trust someone who came up in here just 2 sell something.
  24. Good look on the Digable Planets!! THE ROOTS - Can't Stop This Game Theory (2006) Everyone listen 2 this song...it's dope!!
