  1. Yeah the single version has the K-Ci's vocals intact...compared to Willennium where they were edited.
  2. It's kinda ignorant that Tim asked months ago who would be interested in a JJ+FP shirt. Then when they finally come, only a percentage of the people actually got them. Tim put in the time and money, now it's time for people 2 come thru' on their part of the bargin. If not, i will personally find all of u...and kill u one by one.
  3. JESSICA SIMPSON - If You Were Mine A Public Affair (2006)
  4. Ha...at least he's smiling and happy. He doesn't smile that big very often. It looks like his time away is doing him good...other than the messed up hair...which may be while he's laughing.
  5. I KNEW IT!!!!! Your all closet www fans. Hey, i've always said i like that movie. It's not my fav, but i've always liked it.
  6. Rappin’ Ron Reaches a Few People (Emphasis on Few) AOL News Far be it for me to bash NBA star Ron Artest for trying to show off his lyrical skills. With lyrics such as: "I admit I used to smoke before games.” “Hit the liquor store at halftime.” “David Stern! Damn, David Stern. I gotta teach you bout the ghetto there’s some things you should learn.” “Matt Lauer, up on NBC. You look like a girl, don’t talk to me.” It’s quite obvious he’s trying to reach out to the people of the world. SoundScan reported Artest’s new rap album reached one person last week. And by one person, I mean one single person -- SoundScan reported Artest only sold one copy of his album, “My World.” This tabulation would suggest his CDs weren’t flying off store shelves. What?!?! Ron Artest isn’t the next Jay-Z? OK, so that’s not breaking news. Yet, it’s still hard to believe he doesn’t have any family, entourage members, groupies, or even a friendly paper boy to pawn his music off on … beefing his sale numbers in the process. Selling only one album is too unbelievable to be true, even for rappin’ Ron. And it is. It turns out, SoundScan made a mistake, and Artest actually sold 343 albums. While 343 is better than one, it loses some spark (what little there is) when you consider that America’s #1 trailer park-moocher Kevin Federline managed to sell 6,485 copies of his CD during its debut week. Hate to break it to you Ron, but your 343 is looking sad now. I don’t know which is worse – losing out to K-Fed or 6,485 people actually buying K-Fed’s “Playing With Fire.” Clearly, Armageddon is on its way.
  7. HEAVY D + THE BOYZ - Nike Livin' Large (1987) Heavy D, DJ Eddie F, G-Wiz, Trouble T-Roy, Teddy Riley, Andre Harrell. Legendary team on this album.
  8. I'm one of those people who loves 10. I love The G.O.A.T. too. I view that as one of his very lyrical albums. All the beats were good...but only half of them were really solid. 10's lyrics weren't as watered down as some people think. And while all the beats were ready 4 radio, i think the sound of that album waz dope. The more i think about it, LL's lryics have NEVER slipped. He just focuses on different things on different albums. The only thing i've had problems with waz the production on his last 2 albums. Some of the sound just seemed unfinished 2 me. Then again, he doesn't need a glossy beat 2 take attention away from his lryics. That's what being a real emcee is about...not having a catchy trendy beat and a cute lil' R-N-B hook (or ignorant repeatative chant).
  9. Everyone is entitled 2 their own opinion and 2 their own taste. But when someone is praising Puffy, Jay-Z, Ja-Rule, Young Dro, etc. I think 2 myself "do u only listen 2 the commercial crap on the radio?" In most cases, the people on the radio don't make music...this make "tracks." The overpriced beats are quickly processed repeatative works of crap. Some of them are catchy but that's only 2 cover up the unimaginative lyrics that mean nothing. If u are livin' for that kinda stuff, u aren't asking 4 much out of the people u listen 2. Which is fine with those artists, cuz not only do they not display any real passion for Hip-Hop as music or a culture...but they just aren't smart.
  10. Yeah, the song is FP as his musical glossyest. The heavily sampled funky track, with Jazzy scratching, Kool Moe Dee on the hook...and Dru Hill bringing that B-more flava...it is just a crazy mix. And the video is amazing. It waz definitly on the MJ level of music video making. While we are on the topic...the soundtrack is really good 2. Sure, most of the songs come across as songs that got rejected from those artists' current albums, but the line up waz great. It waz even the comeback of Guy. And let me take a long shot in the dark and say that i actually like the movie. I'm gonna have 2 watch it soon.
  11. Yeah, he usually brings it up when people mention how long his's been rappin.' He jokes about how he's now a parent. I'm sure the next JJ+FP album will feature the new single "Grandparents Just Don't Understand."
  12. TEVIN CAMPBELL - Little Brother T.E.V.I.N. (1991)
  13. Okay, if there's any truth 2 that, it looks like the whole G-Unit involvement isn't gonna be that serious. After all, Puffy waz the exec. producer 2 Cassie's album...but Puffy and the Bad Boy in house producers have NOTHING 2 do with the album. None of those wack Bad Boy artists appeared on the album either. If this album is really happening, it isn't gonna be as bad as some of us thought.
  14. Everyone knows Jay-Z isn't one of my favs. But i heard 2 new songs on a Hip-Hop mix playing on the radio late this evening. I actually thought 2 of the songs weren't 2 bad....however, the songs just seemed common....borning decade old lyrics and C level production. They were better than most of his other singles released since 98ish.
  15. Well, since the single version waz intended for promotion...not 2 make money off of it, i think there waz some kinda legal loop hole. That's why the album version had 2 be edited. FP could have probably have gotten away with the original version of "...Jiggy..." but just desided 2 just make them the same version...besides, the DJ EZ Rock + Rob Base samples were taken out 2.
  16. Yeah, i'm thinkin' about gettin' another w/ this sale price. People...don't sleep!
  17. Yeah, i guess he had sample clearing problems...just like "Will2K."
  18. Yeah, that soundtrack is dope....B.M.U., LL, Jamica, Whiteside Bros., Ahmad... I'm about 2 go upstairs and pop in the Levert album "For Real Tho'"...i that's my fav album by them.
  19. It's just after 1 in the morning here. I just got home after a looooong day at work and tuned on BET. After Dark (the late nite slow jam music video show) just came on and when the flashed the logo it had the message "A Salute to Gerald Levert, a friend who will be missed." I dropped my jaw in confusion. I really can't grab a hold 2 this. Back in the late 80's, i listened 2 Levert and followed Gerald thru' his entire solo career (I have all his albums). He truely is one of the greatest singer, songwriters, and producers in R-N-B ever. While i'm watching this After Dark special (and being reminded just how brilliant Gerald was, i just realized that Jada plays a character in one of his videos...the girl stay in an abusive relationship (until the end of it). My thoughts and prayers go out 2 his family. Respect...and Rest In Peace.
  20. I don't know why Kanye gets the respect he does. He is a good producers. His rhymes skillz are weak and most of his rhymes are lackluster. That being said, he is definitly a step up from the 50 Cent/Ja-Rule/Young Joc type crap. So maybe that's it. Maybe it's just a front he puts on...but he comes across as an ignorant self-indulged fool with a misconception of his skill on the mic. Whether that's how he really is, who knows. Fresh Prince and Kanye West and way 2 different 2 compare if u ask me. Like most legends, FP's old school roots and refusal 2 lower himself 2 the standards of 2day's foolish radio-staple rappers has kept him from breaking out with a monster of an album when it comes 2 mainstream success. Lyric for lyric, does Kanye have any leverage against FP...heck 2 the nizzo!!
  21. YOUNG MC - Y'all Don't Hear Me Doe Ain't Goin' Out Like That (2000)
  22. I think Flav's album is good. I mean, it's Flavor Flav...so nobody is expecting Rakim or KRS-One type stuff...but they are expecting a good time. By the 3rd listen, the songs that he sings on didn't even seem weird 2 me. I don't know, i like the album...that's all that matters 2 me. Either way, when u hold Flavor Flav up 2 fools like Young Joc, who are selling millions, Flavor Flav easily makes better music. With a proper video and promotion, i think the album would be huge...people who know nothing about Hip-Hop love Flavor Flav. I still can't believe CL Smooth and Ice-T didn't do better that 1st week. Who knows, things could turn around. Of course they won't play them on the radio, they wanna keep that new Jay-Z crap in heavy rotation. I didn't even know Channel Live waz still recording.
  23. DIANA KING - Tick Boom Respect (2002) This album waz never released in the US but i finally found it at a decent price. The hook actually has her borrowing from JJ+FP's "Boom! Shake The Room" with the "tick...tick...tick...BOOM!" Yo Fuq, that's my joint!! I might have 2 pop that in next.
  24. Ha ha...that waz pretty funny...even tho' it's painful 2 see legends falling victim 2 lackluster sales.
