  1. I see where he's coming from....but i'll never say Hip-Hop is dead. That's just ignorant. Sure, when u look at the charts and how commercial rap has taken the turn it has...it is dead. Those guys don't know Hip-Hop from Pop. Alot of the things he said in that bit were kinda tied in what i said may be making FP consider hanging up the mic.
  2. I don't see anything wrong with the comment. I mean, Bow Wow has said some stupid things...but the reality is that his music is better than all the Lil' Jon, Lil' Scrappy, T.I., Young Dro, Young Joc, Ja-Rule type stuff...at least in my opinion. I don't remember who all is on that remix so i'm not holding him up against them...but 2 me, that waz your average cocky emcee comment.
  3. So many rappers have these stupid uncreative names these days. On top of that, they all suck. So why would u want something u created being jacked by some fool. I side with Bill Cosby on this one.
  4. I waz a fan b4 there waz a sign of him ever doing movies. Music has always been everything 2 me. But just like i had 2 in 1995, i'll adjust if he doesn't do much more music. Infact, when i think back 2 BB and ID4, i waz so hype 2 see those movies...more than most of his others. I'll support whatever he does no matter what would be next. I'm a supporter of HIM and what he does...not just the music. But without the music, he'll be missing some of he edge.
  5. Yeah, the album waz supposed 2 be a mix of both old, new, and unestablished talent in Hip-Hop, R-N-B, and reggae. It waz an album meant 2 bring positivity 2 Hip-Hop and try 2 balace out the nearly all-negative side displayed on the charts. Kel Spencer waz involved 2. The album fell apart tho.' Maybe the motivation disappeared...maybe he couldn't get it off the ground, who knows. It's a real shame tho.' Even if he waz only on one song, i would have been so hyped 2 see it hit shelves. The fact that he wanted 2 put this 2gether just a few months ago is a big sign of hope that he comments of hanging up the mic aren't that serious.
  6. NICE + SMOOTH - Old To The New Jewel of The Nile (1994) Man, i haven't heard this song in YEARS. Dope song...dope album.
  7. I don't think he's playing a game with the fans...i think he may be tired of playing 'the game.' 'The game' of releasing music, watching the charts and the sales, promoting it, doing what he wants and trying 2 make a record label happy as well. So many albums that come out these days have the artists pushed and stressed 2 do what other people want, which makes u loose interest in your 1st love becuz u can't do it on your own terms. L+F is a dope album and a step in the right direction. If it's his last album, it's a heck of an album 2 end on...but i don't believe it is. I actually kinda believed him when he said he waz retiring back in 1995...but not so much this time. A long period between albums seems likely tho.' It would be dope if he took the time off and then came back 2 do the next JJ+FP album. I think we are all blowing this up more than what we should be. We'll find out soon. On a random note, i had a really crappy day...and this post waz the last thing i wanted 2 see...ha ha.
  8. 2PAC + OUTLAWZ - In His Own Words In His Own Words (1998)
  9. I been wanting 2 reply 2 this post but haven't had tyme...but after seeing that post about him considering hanging up the mic, i had 2 reply. I don't really think he needs his next album 2 be HUGE...but at the same time, who doesn't want their music or art recognized?!? Who doesn't want their favorite emcee blowin' up again and again? As an artist, when u feel that u are being overlooked, it can discourage u and make u not want 2 create anymore...especially when everthing is going against u. For some, it adds fuel 2 the fire and make them come back harder. The commerical side of Hip-Hop and Rap has been garbage for a long time. I don't even like listening 2 so-called Hip-Hop radio anymore. And i don't wanna have 2 dig for music. Back in the 80's and 90's...the good music waz easily accesable and often sucessful. That's rarely the case anymore. None of these cats are talented, smart, or even likeable. FP is in a class of his own 4 the most part. If FP waz content with Gold-selling albums and moderatly sucessful singles, he could keep going on. But the music he loves has changed...so his motivation is probably weaker. L+F waz a dope album and while it did alright...it deserved much more. His next album doesn't need 2 be HUGE, but it would be better for us and FP if it did. Either way, FP is Hip-Hop and as always, he's also kept his ear 2 the streets and continued writing even when he 1st 'retired.' If he does it again, he'll make a big comeback like he did with Big Willie Style.
  10. I can't see him stepping away from the mic yet. Reguardless of what he might say in an interview. This is a scary thought tho.'
  11. Levert - Cassanova The Big Throwdown (1987) R.I.P. Gerald
  12. More of AJ's famed "Bringing positive vybes in this negative world" :shake: I wazn't seriously trying 2 bring anyone down...maybe i should have used the word "silly" instead. I don't think anyone was offended or thought i waz trying 2 be offensive by saying that....OR that this post is 2 be taken seriously.
  13. Man, i haven't followed gaming since the Super Nintendo...ha ha. Even if i had tyme for it, i'm not sure if i'd be that interested. But i'm sure one of my friends will get it and i'll end up getting 2 trying it out and be depressed on how my gaming skillz have declined over the last decade. The gaming companies know that they are gonna sell out ASAP...why don't they just push out more?!? All this sleeping on the sidewalks stuff just seems stupid 2 me.
  14. U guys would have better newz than us on this. So that makes me feel better for MJ. The crowd booing for something like that is a bit harsh.
  15. Jackson Comeback Gig 'Embarrassing' LONDON (Nov. 16) - British media rounded on Michael Jackson and the organisers of an awards ceremony where he appeared late on Wednesday, calling his first public performance since his child molestation trial last year "shambolic." 'Jackson the Flop' Far from the full rendition of mega-hit "Thriller" the world's media had been led to expect at the World Music Awards in London, Jackson instead sang the chorus line of his charity single "We Are the World" with a choir of children. When he reached for the higher notes he appeared to struggle, and mid-song the sound was inexplicably cut. U.S. star Chris Brown sang "Thriller" instead, even wearing the familiar red leather jacket of the original video, but he failed to placate a crowd who had not come to see a stand-in. "Jackson the flop" was the Daily Mail's headline in its online version on Thursday, describing what many had hoped would be a triumphant comeback. The review, which accused Jackson of not trying, added: "It was enough to make you cry. And not in a good way. "However many times he told us he loved us (and there were many) -- and however much we yelled and screamed and pinched ourselves, his performance was a shambles." The mass-circulation Mirror called the event an "embarrassing comeback" and focused on those in the crowd who booed at seeing Jackson sing just four lines of music. Its rival The Sun, Britain's top selling daily, gave 48-year-old Jackson just one star out of five for his evening's work and dwelt on Jackson's "strange" appearance. BADLY ORGANISED Organisers of the annual World Music Awards were also criticised for a chaotic evening. Besides sound problems during Jackson's performance, around half the winners of main awards did not show up to receive them, hostess Lindsay Lohan made only a few fleeting remarks and there were long waits between each performance. The organisers were not immediately available for comment. How the show affects Jackson's bid to revive a flagging career in music remains to be seen. For years he has been better known for his changing appearance and lurid accusations against him than for his songs. Since being acquitted of child molestation charges at a trial that ended in June 2005, he has lived the life of a recluse, dividing his time between Bahrain and Ireland. But despite losing his crown as King of Pop long ago, he still generates hysteria among loyal fans wherever he goes. Hundreds of well-wishers waited outside Wednesday's event for a glimpse of the most successful entertainer of all time. Inside, they chanted "Michael!" throughout the evening and booed some of the acts who came before him. One banner held up in the crowd read "The King is Back." Judging by the wider reaction to Wednesday's performance, he still has a long way to go.
  16. This is a pretty stupid post...but i'm replying 2 it none the less. A few of these are from the 80's and alot of them are reguarl everyday words 'Dip' (i don't use your definition...but i'll call a girl a "honey dip" when talking 2 some of my friends...straight 90's) All That (Regularly) All that and a bag a chips (Sometimes...for fun) All... (i used ALOT...still do a lil') Back In The Day (Regularly) Bama (Rarely) Bling-Bling (only when i'm trying 2 be annoying) The Bomb (semi- regularly) Bounce (regularly) Bugg'n (Usually when i'm mad) CHA-CHING!!! (rarely...just 2 be silly) Cheddar (when i'm being silly, i stole a line from The Jamie Foxx Show when he says something like "The cheddar, the cheese, the scrilla, the duckets) Chick-Flick (when necessary) Chill Out (sometimes) Chillin' (semi-regularly) Crib (semi-regularly) Don't go there! (rarely) Dope (regularly) Duh!! (not often, but this is stilly everyday slang) F-bomb (sometimes, i don't cuss...so if someone else uses it and i'm telling a story, i'll use it) Fine (yeah...still, even tho' it's dated) Fly (regularly) Fool (ugh...this word was used hundreds of years ago) Freak out (sometimes) Freakin' (rarely) Fresh (rarely...totally early 80's) Gettin Jiggy (ugh, your definition waz totally wrong...Jiggy originated in the early/mid 90's...meaning stylish) Ghetto (yep...u can use it in a non-offensive way when u have an upbrining that's kinda ghetto) Going Postal (rarely) Good to go (whenever i'm going out) Hard (when necessary) Homey/Homeslice (only with friends i'd call this back in the day) It's all good (yep...and other versions like "it's all 2 tha good" or "it's all 2 the goody"...which i totally stole from 1997 FP radio interview) Jack (rarely) Mad (yep) O.G. 17. It's a fun silly movie. Nobody waz expecting something amazing with this movie. I think the story and inventions (as well as the CG) waz pretty creative. Alot of the lines were funny. I've never had a problem with this movie...just don't take it 2 seriously.
  18. I think that after yet another Jay-Z post waz made, the board just shut down.
  19. Jim Jones is garbage...Jay-Z is a fool. Who cares.
  20. This is crap. I'm not excited about this at all. Here's the only producers who should get 2 remix 2Pac's music...Johnny J, Soulpower, Shock-G, Eazy Mo Bee, Warren G...period. The only emcees and singers who should be able 2 lay vocals 4 a 'new' album are artists who actually knew him when he waz alive. This is just embarassing for anybody who is down with 2Pac. T.I. Ashanti, Young Buck, Lil Scrappy, Ludacris and most of those other artists shouldn't even be allowed in a studio while a 2Pac song is being mixed. It's messed up that Left Eye actually laid vocals after 2Pac died for "Untouchable" and that they've doctored it AGAIN. I'm contimplating not even buying this album....but my love 2 'Pac would never actually let me do that.
  21. Thanx 4 posting those!! I'm so hyped about this new album.
  22. U ain't the only one. I LOVE BLACKstreet. I read this last nite by didn't reply. It's good 2 see Chauncey comin' out on the solo tip...and that Teddy is down for the ride. Their situation is kinda messed up but they are getting past it. I remember hearing a rumor that Teddy Riley waz retiring so i'm glad 2 hear he's still at it. Can't wait 4 this album...and hopefully more BLACKstreet down the road.
