Yeah, thousands of people really want a new JJ+FP album. I think if the fellas really knew how strong the demand waz, they'd do it. I honestly think the only reason they haven't done it is cuz they don't think the demand is there or that the album would come of relevant enough 2 gain real success.

Ha ha...i like John Mayer...but i wouldn't consider him an R-N-B or Hip-Hop artist...ha ha. Thanx for posting...i think i'll go cry now. -
Happy Thanxgiving!! It waz nice 2 not work for once!! I could get used 2 this...oh wait, i gotta be at the studio at 5:30 am...i guess i can't. Curse u, Black Friday!!

I have heard Jay-Z's albums!! I even have a few that i picked up used for like a dollar or 2 just for a cameo from an artist or producer that i like. I'm not pulling my opinions outta thin air. We don't have 2 fight over a difference of opinon. And FP has never been about bling. He'll tell u he's one of the best emcees or throw out a materialistic line here and there as a hit below the belt for those wack rappers who worship money and material things. Reasonable Doubt waz Jay-Z's only good album...and it's still not on the level of anything like Me Against The World.

Just building off the original post...i really don't like alot of things about music these days. The whole downloading thing is wack 2 me. So many artists are being hurt by this. Cheap unsupportive wanna-be fans are just downloading music with no intention of ever buying it. I guess it's cool if u download it just 2 peep it out, but there's more people who do it just 2 get music for free. With artists like FP, those sales actually mean ALOT. Imagin if everyone who downloaded "Switch" actually bought the album. It would be at least double platinum. Actually buying the album, poppin' it in for the 1st time and hearing 4 the first time, cheching out the art, reading the Thank U's...all of that is a package 2 me. That's why i dont' download music unless it's an unathorized live performance or remix. Of of my favorite artists whose album i'll buy even if it's wack. On top of that, people aren't requiring much from the people they buy music of. I mean, if they really like it, that's their taste, but there are people who are 20 and 30 years old buying music who write hooks like "now walk it out, walk it out, walk it out, walk it out, walk it out, walk it out, walk it out, walk it out." ...R u kidding me?!?! These people need 2 demand skillz, demand lyrics that mean something...real lyrics, demand respect, demand intellegence. And that goes for any kind of music...but especially Hip-Hop music. These young kids just don't know better cuz they've never heard of De La Soul, Brand Nubian, etc. It's just depressing. I gotta shut up b4 i get worked up...ha ha.

I've never seen Jay-Z as lyrical. Girls, bling, bragging...a lil' guns, a lil' sex, and lots of cussing. That's just an uncreative turn off 2 me. His stuff isn't imaginative at all. Snoop has much more 2 say to a more mature audience...but i wouldn't even consider him very lyrical. When i think of lyrics...i think of Rakim, FP, Talib, LL, Lyte, Chuck D, etc.

Black Eyed Peas Nab Three Awards At AMAs
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I taped the show but haven't watched it yet. I love that BEP was won. Man, u guys really have it in for them. BEP is the ONLY people repping Hip-Hop...positive Hip-Hop at that on the commercial side. They are crazy creative, talented, rapping, writing, producing, dancing, etc. And best of all, they are HUGE fans of Hip-Hop. In the past year, they've had 2 "My Humps" and "Pump It" doing well...that's why they are eligable this year. Hate 'em or love 'em...at least the award isn't going 2 Lil' Jon or Young Dro. -
Will's says he still loves hip-hop
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Ugh...i don't know why he would gravitate 2 50 Cent for something like that. I guess since his nephew is younger he's doing for the current sound of commerical rap. 50 Cent wants 2 get involved with as much as he possibly can, and this way he gets 2 work along side a legend. Thanx 4 posting this...i'll be sure 2 check the interview...but why wasn't it posted here!?!? ha ha -
2PAC f/ Hussein Fatal, Papoose, Carl Thomas - Dumpin' Pac's Life (2006) This is one of the few joints i'm really feelin.'

I've loved Tyrese since he did his thing on that Coke commerical. I think he's got that raw talent. I can't say i like the idea of him only doing movies...cuz even tho' i think he has skillz...i won't really see his movies unless they look really good...not just cuz he's in it. He's rhymed on passed albums and he's good...but i don't care 2 hear that 2 much...his regular music is where my hearts at. Everyone of his albums are good.

Nas discusses why he feels hip-hop is dead in new interview
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I see where he's coming from....but i'll never say Hip-Hop is dead. That's just ignorant. Sure, when u look at the charts and how commercial rap has taken the turn it has...it is dead. Those guys don't know Hip-Hop from Pop. Alot of the things he said in that bit were kinda tied in what i said may be making FP consider hanging up the mic. -
I don't see anything wrong with the comment. I mean, Bow Wow has said some stupid things...but the reality is that his music is better than all the Lil' Jon, Lil' Scrappy, T.I., Young Dro, Young Joc, Ja-Rule type stuff...at least in my opinion. I don't remember who all is on that remix so i'm not holding him up against them...but 2 me, that waz your average cocky emcee comment.

Bill Cosby Won't Let Rapper Call Himself Fat Al
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
So many rappers have these stupid uncreative names these days. On top of that, they all suck. So why would u want something u created being jacked by some fool. I side with Bill Cosby on this one. -
I waz a fan b4 there waz a sign of him ever doing movies. Music has always been everything 2 me. But just like i had 2 in 1995, i'll adjust if he doesn't do much more music. Infact, when i think back 2 BB and ID4, i waz so hype 2 see those movies...more than most of his others. I'll support whatever he does no matter what would be next. I'm a supporter of HIM and what he does...not just the music. But without the music, he'll be missing some of he edge.

What about the Compilation album?
JumpinJack AJ replied to E - Style-Greesy - E's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Yeah, the album waz supposed 2 be a mix of both old, new, and unestablished talent in Hip-Hop, R-N-B, and reggae. It waz an album meant 2 bring positivity 2 Hip-Hop and try 2 balace out the nearly all-negative side displayed on the charts. Kel Spencer waz involved 2. The album fell apart tho.' Maybe the motivation disappeared...maybe he couldn't get it off the ground, who knows. It's a real shame tho.' Even if he waz only on one song, i would have been so hyped 2 see it hit shelves. The fact that he wanted 2 put this 2gether just a few months ago is a big sign of hope that he comments of hanging up the mic aren't that serious. -
NICE + SMOOTH - Old To The New Jewel of The Nile (1994) Man, i haven't heard this song in YEARS. Dope song...dope album.
-
I don't think he's playing a game with the fans...i think he may be tired of playing 'the game.' 'The game' of releasing music, watching the charts and the sales, promoting it, doing what he wants and trying 2 make a record label happy as well. So many albums that come out these days have the artists pushed and stressed 2 do what other people want, which makes u loose interest in your 1st love becuz u can't do it on your own terms. L+F is a dope album and a step in the right direction. If it's his last album, it's a heck of an album 2 end on...but i don't believe it is. I actually kinda believed him when he said he waz retiring back in 1995...but not so much this time. A long period between albums seems likely tho.' It would be dope if he took the time off and then came back 2 do the next JJ+FP album. I think we are all blowing this up more than what we should be. We'll find out soon. On a random note, i had a really crappy day...and this post waz the last thing i wanted 2 see...ha ha.

I been wanting 2 reply 2 this post but haven't had tyme...but after seeing that post about him considering hanging up the mic, i had 2 reply. I don't really think he needs his next album 2 be HUGE...but at the same time, who doesn't want their music or art recognized?!? Who doesn't want their favorite emcee blowin' up again and again? As an artist, when u feel that u are being overlooked, it can discourage u and make u not want 2 create anymore...especially when everthing is going against u. For some, it adds fuel 2 the fire and make them come back harder. The commerical side of Hip-Hop and Rap has been garbage for a long time. I don't even like listening 2 so-called Hip-Hop radio anymore. And i don't wanna have 2 dig for music. Back in the 80's and 90's...the good music waz easily accesable and often sucessful. That's rarely the case anymore. None of these cats are talented, smart, or even likeable. FP is in a class of his own 4 the most part. If FP waz content with Gold-selling albums and moderatly sucessful singles, he could keep going on. But the music he loves has changed...so his motivation is probably weaker. L+F waz a dope album and while it did alright...it deserved much more. His next album doesn't need 2 be HUGE, but it would be better for us and FP if it did. Either way, FP is Hip-Hop and as always, he's also kept his ear 2 the streets and continued writing even when he 1st 'retired.' If he does it again, he'll make a big comeback like he did with Big Willie Style.

I can't see him stepping away from the mic yet. Reguardless of what he might say in an interview. This is a scary thought tho.'

More of AJ's famed "Bringing positive vybes in this negative world" :shake: I wazn't seriously trying 2 bring anyone down...maybe i should have used the word "silly" instead. I don't think anyone was offended or thought i waz trying 2 be offensive by saying that....OR that this post is 2 be taken seriously.
