Thanx 4 sharing...u seemed kinda outta your element that nite...ha ha.

I'm not worried about the Little Brother track. The EP is there 4 those who want it. 2 me, the more music the better. Why release the LP with the same songs from the EP plus a few others? I still wish he'd release The Magnificent EP on CD.

Ha ha...i think people who what everyone else does is pathetic. So many people these days are puppet who walk, talk, and act how everyone else does. Part of them just go with the flow and lack their own identity...and the other half our weak individuals who just do what everyone else does 2 be accepted. My voice on this topic is kinda irrelevant tho' since the majority of my past is based on being outta fashion. When i waz younger my influence waz actually from the brigher early 90's style of my favorite group JJ+FP and TLC. That meant alot of bright colors and goofyness. I still have 2 bust that style out from time 2 time, but as someone in their mid-20's, i've mellowed out a lil' bit. The colors are not as bright and the XXXL's are now usually XL's...ha ha. One thing that personally has always bugged me are people who base their entire wardrobe off of name brands. There's just these people who think they get some validation by wearing a popular name brand. I will say i like FUBU's style and quality and alot of Adidas' style...but that's about it. analogue, your topics are starting 2 get a bit random...but i'll play along 4 now :wiggle:

SNOW - Lonely Monday Morning 12 Inches of Snow (1993)

Ever feel like u are in a period of life where u are in the middle of the calm right b4 the storm (i'm talking about a good storm)? Well, that's where i feel i am. In recent months, i've totally switched up my diet for the better. I've always been thin, but i just felt i needed 2 better educate myself on how 2 eat better. And while my diet isn't as strict as it eventually will be, i can see and feel the difference. I haven't stayed totally commited 2 working out regularly, but that's always been a small part of what i do 4 myself. I'm also doing my first show in about a year (i used 2 do about 10 a year) and while i can't say it's a show i wanted 2 do, i'm just happy 2 be on stage again. My photography studio has been doing really well 2. The company is strengthening itself by closing alot of the weaker studios, but i gotten a good raise and my studio is doing great. I've also promoted 3 managers and have finally got 2 kick my feet up a bit and put in some vacation time. This summer, i think i may finally take one of the few college classes i didn't take a few years back and finally get my degree. I'm also getting a new car soon. I love my old one, but i just think it's time for something new since my current one is getting older and needs some repairs. After that, i plan on finally getting my own place. I have a great family situation that has just kept me at home, but i feel it's time 2 finally get out their on my own. And for those of u who don't know, i used 2 write alot. However, since 2000ish, i've written very little. However, me a my long time potna in rhyme have talked about getting 2gether and creating music again and recording it...new stuff and old stuff. Who knows, if i focus on this, it'll be during the summertime. Lastly, on the lovelife front, things remain pathetic...haha. There's this one girl i've always liked but since i felt ready 2 act on it, she started seeing some guy. So i'm stuck between respecting what they have and stepping up anyway 2 see what happens. For the most part, that idea has been pushed 2 the back of my head becuz my last girlfriend, the one i who i thought waz the one, has married the guy she started seeing after me. It opened alot of wounds which is keeping me from really focusing on that aspect of life. So after the new car and my own place, i'm gonna start focusing on my dinner theater and center for the arts. There's tons of artists in my area but 4 the most part, there is no outlet 4 it. I'm hoping 2 provide just that for the actors, singers, emcees, dancers, painters, photographers, and other artists. I guess it's all about he hustle right now. It seems like the last 2 or 3 years of my life have been filled with the wrong things. So i'm focusing on filling it with the rightings, accomplishing alot and getting the stress and "to-do lists" out of my life.

Record Labels Now Agree Hip Hop Is Dead

Allow me bring u a moment in common sense. The chorus or the hook of a song is the part people remember 1st. It's the part that should be so catchy that it gets stuck in your head even if u don't know what the lyrics are. Of course in Pop, R-N-B, Rock, and the genres that are singing, it's the most important...especially if u are a pop, radio-friendly, mainstream, or commerical artist. Hip-Hop is different since singing can be done...or rapping can be done...or a DJ can just scratch the crap out of some vocal samples. Not every hook needs 2 be brilliant in Hip-Hop and Rap since true Hip-Hop music is based on having no rules. But lets not overlook the fact that weak hooks are pretty lame and disappointing 2 remotely intellegent listerns. Especially on a song like "This Is Why I'm Hot" or "Walk It Out," where the artists actually comes off sounding like foolish children. Ja-Rule has some wack singing hooks, but even they are more developed than hooks like on "Shoulder Lean." "Boom! Shake The Room" is a fun song and there's nothing amazing about the hook, but listeners are feeling the energy when they hear it. I don't really like Terror Squad at all, but even the unimaginative hook on "Lean Back" doesn't bother me...mostly cuz that kinda song is relying more on the beat or the "dance" that goes with it. How many songs do u really like where u can honestly say "man, other than the hook, the song is great?!?" For asking a ?uestion like "what does the chorus have to do with a song being good or bad" is the silliest thing i've ever heard. I'm i alone on this? -

I know what u mean...but u gotta seize the moment and make it happen if u want it that bad. TLC has been my "other favorite" group since they 1st came out in 1991. I waz kinda 2 young 2 see them when they toured with MC Hammer during their 1st album. I almost saw them perform during CraZySeXyCOol with Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, and Montell Jordan, but that fell thru.' So when FanMail came around, i wasn't gonna miss it. I remember i had a few things that were conflicting with me seeing them in 2000, but i said "screw it" and saw them anyway...ha ha. It waz one of the best times of my life and obviously by the next album, TLC couldn't full perform since Left Eye passed away. So not only waz that one of the greatest times of my life, but it's even more cherished now. Bottom line, u only live life once...so if u want something, make it happen. R.I.P. Left Eye -
I can't agree with this topic. When i watched all the bonus features (and the ones exclusive 2 Target), i never got that impression. Even if someone clashed with FP on something like hiring a director, they aren't gonna put footage on there saying "well, i thought someone else would be a better director but Will hired this guy anyway."

I think the look of the movie is very impressive. I'm not really in2 this kinda movie so i'll pass til it hits video. One of my friends saw it and loved it. He said that alot of people wouldn't be able let it all sink-in in just 1 viewing.
-
Hmmm....it's incredibly shallow 2 make an opinion by just seeing pictures....but i'm not seeing this. The pics don't really show the kinda chemistry u see between super couples like FP + Jada. I respect Usher's mom's opinion 2. From all the times i've seen her on TV, she seems like a smart and sweet mother.
-
And In This Corner... is my least favorite album and always has been. That's not saying that it's bad at all or that anything is wrong with it...i just feel that it's the weakest. The comedy and storytelling aspect of JJ+FP is the strongest on this album. And lyrically, FP is pushing the border on this almost more than any other. The production is probably where i like it less. The beats are good....but different. The musical struggle of Jazzy wanting 2 add live instruments and FP wanting 2 keep it simple is why i feel that as an album, it's less consistant compared 2 the others. JJ+FP had been going non-stop 2. I think they were kinda exhausting themselves. This is also an akward time for the duo. FP waz about 2 get in financial trouble and start working on FPofBA. JJ waz putting ATOJ 2gether. Their sound waz about 2 change with the times. Just alot going on at the time. Those things could have contributed 2 the lack of focus compared 2 the 1st 2 albums.

Lots of new albums have been coming out. Spread the word and share your opinions here. TIMBALAND - SHOCK VALUE Sadly, this is Timbaland's "Born To Reign." He partially abandons his signature sound for new, weirder sound that is no doubt the product of all the hits he's created today's popular acts. Long gone are the Aaliyah, Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliot, Ginuwine, Playa, Nicole Wray, Tweet, and even Bubba Sparxxx cameos. Timbaland R-N-B/Pop singers Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and Nicole Scherzinger, Hip-Hop and Rap artists Missy Elliot, Dr. Dre, Tony Yayo, 50 Cent, a handful of new artists, and crappy rock groups like THe Hives and Fall Out Boy. I've always been a big fan of Timbaland as a producer and as an emcee. His first solo album and the Timbaland + Magoo albums are amoungst my favs. This album however, doesn't continue that tradition. He still drops raps in his true style, but he also does some of that weird singing u hear on current hits like Omarion's "Ice Box" and the Pussycat Dolls "Wait A Minute." All of the beats are creative and unique, but that dosen't make them all what long-time Timbaland fans will wanna here. I can say this tho'...i am liking the album more with each listen. Here's my fav songs...Give It To Me, Oh Timbaland, Release, The Way I Are, Kill Yourself, Boardmeeting. MARQUES HOUSTON - VETERAN He's back with a new one. This album, for the most part, shuns the Hip-Hop influence that has filled his albums since he broke in2 the biz in 1992. The R-N-B sound is full. The album opens with a weak song called "Like This" featuring Young Joc (whatever happened 2 the 'Radio Edit w/o Rap). The production is crappy dirty south stuff, but after u get thru' this one, the album is pretty flawless. "Always & Forever" is a slower steady R-N-B love song. Classic in every way. "Favorite Girl" has a retro edge 2 it as well, tho' it's more upbeat. This is the 1st single off the album that only got moderate attention. "Circle" is the touching 2nd single that is getting alot of sucess (and with an amazing video i might add). Just a heart touching song that talks about the one that go away. This song makes me think about the same girl i thought about when he dropped "All Because of You." "Wonderful" is a breezy, more modern song about the girl in his life. "Exclusively" is a headnodder...yet still slow. "How You Just Gonna" is a sexy and sweet R-N-B groove song. "Hold N' Back" features Mya and Shawnna. The track is laid back, and with the exception of Shawnna being on the track, the song is great. "Kimberly" is about the "freak" in every woman..ha ha. "So Right For Me" had touches of R-N-B from today and yesterday. "Miss Being Your Man" is another heartwrencher about that lost love. If u catch the limited edition version of this album at Target, u'll also get the more upbeat track "Excited." This is one of the best R-N-B albums released since the 2000's. This might be his best album, tho' his 1st solo disc is probably still me fav. MUSIQ SOULCHILD - LUVAMUSIQ Another great album. Definitely better than his last, the more experimental SoulStar. "B.U.D.D.Y" is the hit 1st single with a throwback Hip-Hop influence mixed in with Musiq's charm. "Ms.Philadelphia" is a steady tribute 2 a girl. "Teachme" has that vibe that made fans fall in love with him back in 2000. That sweet, soul-infested sound and harmonies. Great song. "Betterman" speeds it up....just feel-good music about that "good" girl in your life. I honestly could spell the whole album out, but let me just say this album is amazing. His signature style is laced thru' out the whole album. Neo-soul, old school R-N-B, and a dash of Hip-Hop. This is probably one of the top 3 albums of 2007. The Best Buy version of the album has 3 bonus tracks that are a lil' weaker than the actual album...but the standard Musiq holds for his music is so high, u still wanna cop this version if u can. Circuit City's version also has a bonus track. I gotta head 2 work...but later 2nite i'll post reviews of the new Joss Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Lloyd.

WILL SMITH DECLARED MOST POWERFUL ACTOR ON THE PLANET!
JumpinJack AJ replied to TopDawg14's topic in Will Smith Movies
The thing that i think is funny is that he calls his movie career his "chick on the side" and he's had so much success with it. But after seeing this post, it made me think. All these years, even now, i don't think about him as a movie star. I still think of him as just an emcee. The only time i think about him being a movie star is the week b4 he drops a movie and i'm patiently waiting for it 2 come out. Then, after the high of seeing the new movie, i kinda forget about the movie star thing again cuz i'm listening 2 his music in the car on the way home. -

WILL SMITH DECLARED MOST POWERFUL ACTOR ON THE PLANET!

Even more amazing is that a Hip-Hop artist who has never turned their back on Hip-Hop can acheive that status. 2 me, it's the perfect example of what a talented, hardworking, postive-thinking person can achieve. -
Yeah, it sounds like some 5 year old stuck in the 80's came up with those titles.
