  1. I'm not familiar with their 2000-plus stuff (other than a remix they did with Mya), but i love their 90's stuff. I saw them perform live back in 1993.
  2. Yeah, it's rediculous how "professional" writers get to keep their job even tho' they put so much of their own opinions and feeling in2 what they write. They act like people posting on a message board. On top of that, they don't even do research on the people they talk 2.
  3. Thanx 4 posting that!! I love the respect he shows for JJ+FP.
  4. JOHN MAYER - Love Soon Inside Wants Out (1999)
  5. That waz hilarious. I peeped this early this morning but never got 2 post about it. They definitly gotta put this on the album. It's 2 funny. FP's sampled vocals were on The Magnificent....this interlude on TROTM...so there's gotta be a JJ+FP song on the next album. I love the part where Jazzy says "thank u" after he's already been put on hold.
  6. I gotta be real. I haven't checked the track. I've had the chance and passed it up. Everyone is either saying it's average or it's crap. Peedie has no credibility really and his name doesn't attract me 2 the track. And if Jay-Z showed up on a Jazzy Jeff track, i'd believe it waz the day Hip-Hop died. The truth is, any joint by Jazzy could be a hit. It's all a matter of if that's what Jeff and/or BBE want 2 accomplish. Then considering what would be done with promotion, the video, radio airplay, etc.
  7. 2 soon people...2 soon!! R. KELLY - I'm A Flirt (2007)
  8. JOE - If I Was Your Man Ain't Nothing Like Me (2007) Man, this song is soooo good. Joe is back!!
  9. So many different things contribute 2 this. So many albums only have 1 or 2 good songs...or at least 1 or 2 songs that record companies pay lots of money 2 get played. Real talent has 2 settle for next to nothing. The creative process of putting any album 2gether is ignored by fluff artists who just make songs with big name producers. Real albums have flow and concept. They have a vibe that simply can't be created unless u have in the zone and trying 2 accomplish something with the music u make. Record labels only care about the here and now and the dollar that can be made. They don't care about music or the craft in general. They don't care about the fans or anything. And fans obviously don't demand anything from the artists or labels or the state of music wouldn't be so crappy. There are definitly those artists and those groups who only exist for that single download, but it's time 4 music fans 2 step up and start buying these albums. Show that support. If a true artist drops and album and u can count on them 4 quality music, go get it for God's sake.
  10. This week, rapper Will Smith followed the recent trend in rap music by purchasing his very own Pimp Cup.
  11. JOHN REUBEN - I John Reu See Evertything In Hindsight (2002) ...fresh...
  12. Julie, most of the songs on Todd Smith were for the ladies...ha ha...can't u get enough!? Other than the production, i don't think the song is bad at all. His delivery reminds of his laidback 90's style. And i love the lyrics. The combination of name dropping, the 90's delivery, the simplistic old school writing style, etc. I'd never call it one his top 150 joints...but i didn't expect so many 2 dislike the song...ha ha.
  13. MARQUES HOUSTON - Excited Verteran (CC Exclusive Version) (2007) Brakes, u'll love the album!!
  14. 2 soon 4 that... ALICIA KEYS - Lovin' U Songs In A Minor (Import) (2001)
  15. Thanx 4 the update. I'm glad he changed the title. "Back To Cool" waz pretty cheesy, and making it part 2 of another album that had a totally different vibe wouldn't make any sense. It gives me the feeling that the album is gonna be pretty average compared 2 LL's level of craft. Kinda like his quiet way of exiting Jay-Z's Def Jam...in which he'll follow up with a dope album after this one.
  16. Oft-Delayed Rowland Album Due in June By Mariel Concepcion NEW YORK (March 14) - Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland 's second solo album has had two title changes and three unofficial releases since last year, but "Ms. Kelly" is finally set to come out June 26. The Columbia Records release will be the belated follow-up to "Simply Deep," which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2002. The Nelly -assisted single "Dilemma" spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. "This album is very different from the last record. It was so alternative and this record is urban," Rowland told Billboard.com. "I wanted to go back to my roots (because) that's where I started and that's what feels natural to me. The first single from the album, "Like This," features rap artist Eve, and is currently being promoted on AOL Music's New Songs page and on Rowland's Myspace.com site (http://www.myspace.com/kellyrowland). The second single "Ghetto," guest stars Snoop Dogg . The album was originally set for release in July 11, but it was held back because more time was needed to set up the project, her manager, Mathew Knowles, said at the time. "We want to make sure our marketing strategy is a multi-tiered approach that capitalizes on the synergies afforded by her other projects," he said. Knowles is the father and manager of Destiny's Child breakout star Beyonce Knowles , who released her own solo album last September. ------------------------------- I'm really looking forward 2 this. I love Beyonce, but her B'Day album is average at best. The deluxe version of her album will probably be much better, but Kelly's solo stuff has always been the strongest of the DC solo projects.
  17. Let me start off 1st by saying "THANX JIM!!" He hooked me up with this song this morning. It's a new joint off the forthcoming LL Cool J album. Before i heard the track, Jim said he thought the song was average. Well, i'll agree that it isn't his best when it comes 2 an overall song, but i think the track is actually pretty good. The song isn't dissing anyone in the rap game (whether they deserve and LL lyrical butt-whipping or not) but he claims the crown when it comes 2 longevity. The 1st verse has him saying how he waz doing his thing before every single emcee who has dominated the commercial charts in the 2000's. He drops a name or 2 in ever bar. The 2nd verse does the same thing, but emcees and rappers who came out and commercially peaked in the 90's. Then the 3rd verse, he gives props 2 all the old schoolers who paved the way 4 him. Totally ill. I think the song's biggest problem is the production. I give it a 6 or 7 outta 10. I like the vibe of it, it just needs 2 be polished up 2 go 2 that next level. 50 Cent has minimal adlibs which are out of place...by the end of the song, i forgot he waz on the track...ha ha. The occasional "n-word" drops are kinda tasteless 2. I'm just sick of hearing that word...have been for years. I think it's a good track but i hope it's not a single. This sparked my LL interest and i finally found the "Bump This" CD promo. I saw them when the song 1st dropped, but then they all disappeared (other than the 12" promos). "Don't Take This Personal" is much better "Bump This." It's still a shame that LL is letting his vibe be contaminated with 50 Cent influence.
  18. LL COOL J - Don't Take This Personal Back To Cool (2007) Thanx Jim!!
  19. Thanx, i'll have 2 go school myself.
  20. I didn't even know they had another album.
  21. Yeah, i feel like i heard this b4...like FP waz jokin' about it b4 in the past.
  22. Ha ha...yeah. I thought it waz weird cuz they'd say something postive then something negative. Interesting none the less.
  23. Yeah, that's probably my favorite song on the album.
  24. MC HAMMER - This Is What We Do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
  25. If i waz 2 label them, i'd said they are 85% Hip-Hop...but either way, they are the most interesting thing i've heard in Hip-Hop in years. The Fort Minor album waz dope, but not as much of a stretch as Gym Class Heros.
