  1. What are your favorite Michael Jackson songs? There's alot of them. Break it down if u need 2 (favorite R-N-B songs, favorite dance songs, favorite lyrics, favorite albums, etc) I'm gonna start off with my personal favorite albums... 1. Thriller 2. Dangerous 3. Invincible 4. HIStory 5. Off The Wall 6. Bad Didn't know if we could include "Blood Is On The Dancefloor."
  2. MICHAEL JACKSON - Speechless Invincible (2001) This was always one of my favorite songs. The lyrics are some of the heaviest that i've ever heard and the way he sings them with his heart is just amazing. It comes across on the CD.
  3. I agree with alot of things being said here. I don't think MJ was lonely or unhappy the last few years. He finally got some decent privacy the last few years and he spent most of his time with his children. Whenever u heard him talk about his children, u could tell that being with them is what made him feel the happiest. They are what he felt most proud of. Once he beat that last case, he was with his kids and dealing with alot less stress and pressure. The media was always on his back, but since they worked so hard 2 tarnish his star, they temporarily semi-achieved, which got off his back a bit. On top of that, he was working on new music and he was heavily rehearsing for a tour that would have brought him back 2 greateness. He had 2 be happy 2 be working. He may not have had any singles, albums, or videos out...but he just sold out 50 shows in a matter of minutes and he was on top of the world as he went. There was no decline, there was no downtime...he was on top as he was taken away. AND the place he was taken 2 is a place where he is FINALLY free from all of the negative things of this world. He didn't suffer long if he was in a place where he could participate in the suffering at all. I pray for his family. As they face this time, as they handle his matters, as his children's lives are set up, that the press just leaves them alone. I wanna hear some of u say more about MJ. That reason i'm typing this an my last longer post was because it's ridiculous 2 just leave a comment like "R.I.P." if u were actually a fan of his. Tell your story. What are your memeories of his music? One thing i love is that in his passing, MTV actually started playing a thing called music videos. They are focusing a bit much on the 80's and his biggest hits, but it's a good thing nonetheless. I remember when "Black or White" came out, MTV aired it every hour on the hour. The day before he passed, i was taking my dog for a walk. As i walked thru' the neighborhood, i made a point 2 remember who used 2 live in certain houses and all the crazy things me and my friends did as kids. When i walked by the house that my friend Eric lived in, i remember that when my brother got Dangerous the day it came out, we rushed 2 his house and popped it in and blasted it in the basement. I remember instantly falling in love with "Jam." And the big surprise was that Heavy D was on the track!! In that same basement, i remember making lots of lipsyncing music videos. I remember me and Eric were fighting over who was gonna lipsync "Black or White." We agreed that we'd both lipsync a version of it...ha ha. We even did a silly parody of the intro 2 the video. However, we never got 2 complete the 1st version. I was doing mine 1st. I remember that we weren't allowed 2 touch the camcorder so we were trying 2 do it before his dad got home. I remember rocking black pants, a white t-shirt, and a white button up over top it. I remember dancing and lipsyncing and in the middle of getting in2 it, totally stopping and a look on my face that was a combination of embarassment and "oh crap, we are in trouble" as he dad walks in2 the frame from the left...ha ha.
  4. I'm also wondering if anyone has the song he did with Akon (not the 2008 version of "You Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'"...the new one) and "Let Me Let Go." I need 2 make a new MJ mix with the quickness. It makes u think about the future of his music. MJ fans are faced with what all music fans deal with when one of their favorite artists passes away. Does this mean no more music EVER? Does this mean more music...and if so because the artist didn't finish their project, how will the music suffer (if it suffers at all). MJ has recorded hundreds of songs, probably thousands. And as we heard on The Ultimate Collection, some of the unreleased stuff is album quality...and some of it is incredibly rough and dated. And remix albums are a whole other story. And they'll probably hit us with another Greatest Hits album even tho' they've given us a few already. One thing is for sure. 1 more studio album of original material is due. Let the people that he was working with and/or worked with in the past complete and fine tune the project for the holiday season. It just doesn't make sense for MJ not 2 be here. He was rehearing for this new tour...nobody saw this coming.
  5. Does anyone have a CD quality MP3 of the Trackmasters Remix of "You Rock My World" featuring Jay-Z?
  6. MICHAEL JACKSON - Fall Again The Ultimate Collection (2004)
  7. My thing is this...it was so long ago...WHO CARES?!?! It's hard 2 see FP in the light. If there is one thing i've learned over the years, it's that there is 2 sides 2 every story...and then there is the truth. Now how much of those sides lines up with the truth is one thing we'll never know for sure. I don't remember FP ever going out there and talking about the fall out between the 2 of them. I can't see the cast backing him if he was really acting like that and with negative motives. In fact, since the cast remains friends and supports each other and always back FP, it kinda shows that they aren't backing him just 2 keep a job...because they haven't had that job in over 10 years. I think Janet has serious forgivness issues. She may have been given a reason 2 be mad back in the day, but it's 2009. Get over it. Her life and career are probably suffering becuz of that unforgiveness. Life ceases 2 progress when u allow yourself 2 not forgive someone. She is talking about a person who no longer is the person they were. She's letting it ruin her life. At this point, it's no one's fault but her own. She needs 2 grow up and get over it. Even if he did do all of those things with the motives 2 make her life miserable, it's been 15 years.
  8. There are certain moments that u will never forget. U remember alot of little things, like exactly where u were, what u were wearing, what u were doing, etc. I'll always remember 6:03, sitting at the computer, when i get a text from my friend Vanessa saying "Mourn with me...Michael Jackson died a bit ago." My instant thought was "whatever, it's another MJ rumor...that doesn't make since. I started looking all over the internet and didn't find anything. I turned on the TV and nobody was airing anything...until i got on MSNBC...and then 106 + Park. MSMBC was saying there were rumors that he died but that they could only confirm that he was taken 2 the hospital. Other texts followed. 10-20 minutes later, MSNBC said that the LA Times confirmed that he had just passed. Michael Jackson was the 1st artist i knew by name. My mom loved him. Thriller was the 1st music video i ever saw. Bad was my 1st cassette ever. I remember waking up early on a Sunday morning and "Bad" was on the radio. I was 8 and put my tape recorder next 2 my radio and recorded the last minute of the song. I put 2 tape recorders 2gether and played that last minute of the song and recorded it on another tape 3 times in a row so it was kinda like having the whole song. At 7 years old, that made sense...ha ha. I remember my brother getting Dangerous on cassette when it 1st came out and a dubbed it until it got my own copy. I remember getting HIStory the day it came out. I've lived all my life as a BIG Michael Jackson fan. My music and DVD collection of his is pretty extensive. As he dealt with legal problems, I always sided with him. It's silly for anyone (including myself) 2 have any opinion on matters like that because we simply weren't there. I always found it hard 2 swallow that someone who seemed so raw and innocent with everyone would do anything like that. He was rich, famous, black, and not one 2 fight people head 2 head...making him an easy target for shady people. Over the years, his music, his lyrics, his compassion for people and the world really struck me and in many cases was something i could identify with. Michael Jackson was one of the hardest working people in the industry. He was one of the most creative artists of all time. He broke so many records, had so many hits, sold out so many tours, and accomplished so much, it's hard 2 imagin the negative press sticking 2 his legacy. It'll be frustrating 2 see all of the bandwagon fans come out of the woodwork who either didn't care about him or were disrespecting him over the past decade. If they were such fans, why didn't they back him when he needed it? Look at what the man has dealt with in the past 15 years?! That will handicap your creativity and productivity....but he kept pressing on. He had thousands of fans and industry people totally turn their back on him. MJ's music never declined. MJ's attitude never changed. It was the industry and phoney fans that abandoned him. His commercial edge should have never slipped. This comeback tour was gonna be just that. The comeback. After dealing with the crap that he had 2 deal with in the past, u know it wasn't gonna happen again. I remember thinking it was weird seeing all of that footage of fans screaming, crying, and fainting at his shows. But at the same time, that only shows just how much he touched his supporters and how he did it. I'm feeling that right now. Michael Jackson is gone. I'm not making this about me at all, but personally, this year has been really rough. I've watched so much be taken away from me. Things i love. Things that are tradition. So to have the man i've been a fan of all my life, an icon in my eyes be yet another thing that is gone, just makes everything so much more weird. Life is soooo short. We need 2 chase down life and live it 2 the fullest. We need to forgive. We need shake off the bad and just live. Rest In Peace MJ.
  9. I'm gonna write more on this 2nite but i still can't adapt 2 it. It just seems weird. It's always strange to me how the passing of a celeberity can sometimes truely effect u even tho' u never met them. It just goes 2 show how thru' words, lyrics, talent, music, and being yourself, u can touch people u've never met. I'm gonna grab some MJ CDs and go for a long drive.
  10. Soul Train always used lipsyncing. I watched it weekly thru' most of the 90's and the only time i remember live vocals was when they did a whole show for MC Hammer in 1995 and he did 4 songs totally live.
  11. Michael Jackson dies of heart attack: report 'Michael Jackson dies' ... the TMZ report. June 26, 2009 - 8:04AM Pop legend Michael Jackson is reported to have died of a heart attack after he was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles. The entertainment TMZ website reports Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. Earlier, a fire department official told the Los Angeles Times that Michael Jackson had been rushed to the hospital. Steve Ruda told the newspaper on Thursday that Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30pm. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the paper. The report of the heart attack was confirmed by the OK! website, which said streets surrounding the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in LA had been blocked off with yellow tape. TMZ reports that it had spoken with a Jackson family member, who said Michael was in "really bad shape". His family were heading to the hospital, the report said. More to come
  12. I hope they both can get their lives 2gether.
  13. Ha ha...i hadn't seen that. I liked that one 2.
  14. DJ JAZZY JEFF + THE FRESH PRINCE - Summertime Homebase (1991) Heard of it?
  15. Boyz II Men's classic debut album "Cooleyhighharmony" was released in the end of May (i just stumbled upon it). From what i could find, it didn't say whether it was remastered, but the good news, it clumps all the good stuff on this new 2 disc version. It has the hits "End of The Road" and "In The Still of The Night" along with the a handful of remixes and alternate versions that were only available on singles, promos, and soundtracks/compilations out at the time that are very hard 2 find and/or very expensive 2 buy when u do find them. The real gem is 2 previously released tracks from that era. I peeped them and they aren't on the classic level that the regular album is but it's still nice 2 hear new stuff from that era after all these years. I really hope they do this to the other albums. There are so many b-sides and remixes out there that were great and i'm sure the unreleased stuff only got better. BIIM fans, go get this!! Here's the tracklisting... DISC 1: 1. Please Don't Go 2. Lonely Heart 3. This Is My Heart 4. Uhh Ahh 5. It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday 6. Motownphilly 7. Under Pressure 8. Sympin 9. Little Things 10. Your Love 11. End Of The Road 12. In The Still Of The Night (I'll Remember) 13. Uhh Ahh (Sequel Version) 14. Motownphilly (Remix Radio Edit) 15. Sympin (Remix Radio Edit) 16. It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday (Radio Version) 17. Al Final Del Camino (End Of The Road, Spanish Mix) DISC 2: 1. Just A Cover Up - (previously unreleased) 2. 16. I saw this a few days ago when my friend sent it 2 me. All of the people leaving comments were not understanding the concept of sarcasm...ha ha.
  17. I saw this artcile on AOL....it's making me cry... ------------------------------- Dying Girl Granted Wish to See 'Up' AP posted: 1 DAY 17 HOURS AGOcomments: 341filed under: Good NewsPrintShareText SizeAAAHUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (June 19) -- Colby Curtin got her final wish. The 10-year-old girl desperately wanted to see the new Disney-Pixar movie, "Up." But the cancer-stricken girl was too sick to go to a theater. Thanks to a family friend who got in touch with the movie studio Pixar, an employee of the Emeryville-based company arrived at Colby's home with a DVD copy of the movie, The Orange County Register reported Friday. The girl died later that night. Colby's mother, Lisa, said she had asked her daughter if she could hang on until the movie arrived. "I'm ready (to die), but I'm going to wait for the movie," she said her daughter replied. "Up" is the animated tale of a grumpy old man who, after his wife's death, tries to fulfill their joint dream of visiting South America by tying thousands of balloons to his house and floating away. "When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie," Colby's mother told the Register. "I just know that word 'Up' and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven." Colby, who was diagnosed with vascular cancer in 2005, saw previews for the film in April. "It was from then on, she said, 'I have to see that movie. It is so cool,'" family friend Carole Lynch said. But the girl's health began to deteriorate. On June 4, Curtin asked a hospice company to bring a wheelchair so that her daughter could go to a movie theater but the chair was not delivered over the weekend, Curtin said. By June 9, Colby was too sick to go anywhere. Another family friend, Terrell Orum, called both Pixar and Disney, which owns the animation studio. The message was received by Pixar officials, who agreed to send someone to Colby's house the next day with a copy of "Up" for a private screening, Orum said. The employee arrived with the DVD, stuffed animals of characters and other movie memorabilia. Colby was unable to open her eyes to see the movie so her mother described the scenes. When her mother asked if she enjoyed it, the girl nodded, Curtin said. The Pixar employee left after the movie, taking the DVD, which has not been released. Lynch, who was with the family during the screening, said the employee's "eyes were just welled up." A call to Pixar seeking comment was not immediately returned Friday. Colby, with her parents nearby, died later that night. Her mother said one of the memorabilia left by the Pixar employee was an "adventure book" based on a scrapbook that, in the movie, is kept by the wife of the main character. "I'll have to fill those adventures in for her," Lisa Curtin said of her daughter.
  18. I do think FP is better than Ice Cube. I don't think Ice Cube has been on that top notch level since the mid-90's. Brakes said that the Snoop victory over LL was a misprint. THANK GOD!! And personally, i do think Kel Spencer is much better than Biggie. I'm not here to disrespect B.I.G but i have never really liked him much. I never liked his voice or delivery. His lyrics never stood out 2 me. The only think that i think he really had down was his flow. It was very old school in the sense that he often WROTE his rhymes so that he could put extra emphasis on his flow.
  19. I haven't watched this in awhile. It's fun every time. I was watching The Kenan Ivory Waynes Show when this episode aired. Takes me waaaaay back.
  20. It's not hard 2 be real. U can still nod your head 2 where u come from...but nobody is supposed 2 stay in the same place in life. There's no shame in moving on. Music should 2. Tell an old story if it's really necessary, but with all that growth in life, it's basically sinfull 2 make stupid, pointless, fake music. Share your growth with your listener. On top of that, with gangsta rap, u are exploiting a negative lifestyle...it's not like they are lyrically staying in one place 2 push positivity. FP and LL were never gangsta, but listen 2 their recent albums, part of them is very much like when they came out...but all of their growth they've gone thru' is in there 2. With gangsta rap, u are basically stuck on the following topics....weed, drinking, drugs, guns, and sex. 2 stay there in your music is immature, stupid, repetitive, and uninspiring. There is no second story in the house of gangsta rap. I once heard the phrase "Gangsta Rap is wack"....and i agree.
  21. Ugh...heartbreak and disappointments all over the place for me personally.... Mos Def vs Guru (DON'T AGREE...BUT I CAN'T BELIVE HOW 1 SIDED THIS ONE WAS) Mos Def wins with 100% Nas vs Talib Kweli (DON'T AGREE...CAN'T BELIEVE IT WAS THIS 1 SIDED) Nas wins with 78% Kel Spencer vs Biggie (SAME HERE) Biggie wins with 78% Snoop vs LL Cool J (HECK 2 THE NIZZO...WAS THE BOARD HIGH FOR THIS ONE?) Snoop wins with 89% Pharoah Monche vs Monie Love (NOT SURPISED BUT SURPRISED BY HOW 1 SIDED IT WAS) Pharoah Monche wins with 78%
  22. That remix is awful. Gucci Mane sucks. The beat is common and trendy. I could only see myself listening 2 this on a late nite in the car with friends if this was sandwiched between good Mariah songs. Next...
