  1. I just heard a clip of that 2day...i was so dissapointed. MH needs 2 stop doing trendy stuff...those songs are always out of place on his albums and the weakest joints on the record. RICH CRONIN - Blur Billion Dollar Sound (2008)
  2. I haven't heard a single suicide rumor and i've followed this whole thing very closely.
  3. So it's the album all in 1 track? I have the album but i'd like a 1 track version for the car without the short pauses from it being burned. I think Twitter is the stupidest thing ever so i never get on it...but this will get me on it!!
  4. Report: Doc Gave Jackson Fatal Drug By THOMAS WATKINS, AP posted: 15 MINUTES AGOcomments: 115filed under: Music NewsPRINT|E-MAILMOREText SizeAAA(July 27) – Michael Jackson's personal doctor administered a powerful anesthetic to help him sleep, and authorities believe the drug killed the pop singer, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Monday. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing, also provided a glimpse inside Jackson's rented mansion, describing the room Jackson slept in as outfitted with oxygen tanks and an IV drip. Another of his bedrooms was a shambles, with clothes and other items strewn about and handwritten notes stuck on the walls. One read: "children are sweet and innocent." Skip over this content The official said Jackson regularly received propofol to sleep, relying on the drug like an alarm clock. A doctor would administer it when he went to sleep, then stop the intravenous drip when he wanted to wake up. On June 25, the day Jackson died, Dr. Conrad Murray gave him the drug through an IV sometime after midnight, the official said. Though toxicology reports are pending, investigators are working under the theory propofol caused Jackson's heart to stop, the official said. Jackson is believed to have been using the drug for about two years and investigators are trying to determine how many other doctors administered it, the official said. Skip over this content Jackson's Docs Under the ScopeHouston Chronicle / AP4 photos Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Michael Jackson's cardiologist, has been a primary person of interest in Jackson's death investigation. A law enforcement official tells the Associated Press that Murray did in fact administer the drug propofol to the singer. The powerful anesthetic is believed to be what killed him.(Note: Please disable your pop-up blocker) Michael Jacksons Doctors Murray, 51, has been identified in court papers as the subject of a manslaughter investigation and authorities last week raided his office and a storage unit in Houston. Police say Murray is cooperating and have not labeled him a suspect. Using propofol to sleep is a practice far outside the drug's intended purpose. One doctor said administering it in a home to help a person sleep would constitute malpractice. Murray's lawyer, Edward Chernoff, has said the doctor "didn't prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson." When asked Monday about the law enforcement official's statements he said: "We will not be commenting on rumors, innuendo or unnamed sources." Murray became Jackson's personal physician in May and was to accompany him to London for a series of concerts starting in July. He was staying with Jackson in the Los Angeles mansion and, according to Chernoff, "happened to find" an unconscious Jackson in the pop star's bedroom the morning of June 25. Murray tried to revive him by compressing his chest with one hand while supporting Jackson's back with the other. Magazine / AP It's unclear how long it took for someone at Jackson's home to summon paramedics, though Murray's own lawyers have said it was up to a half-hour. Paramedics arrived about three minutes after they were called and tried to revive the music superstar for another 42 minutes before sliding him into the ambulance and racing with lights flashing and siren blaring to UCLA Medical Center, where Jackson was pronounced dead. Authorities arrived at the singer's house after the death and found a chaotic scene. The top floor had been all but sealed off, with only Jackson, his children and Murray allowed upstairs, the official said. Jackson's bedroom was a mess, with items seemingly thrown about and some 20 handwritten notes stuck on the walls. A porcelain girl doll wearing a dress was found on top of the covers of the bed where he slept, the official said. The temperature upstairs was stiflingly hot, with gas fireplaces and the heating system on high because Jackson always complained of feeling cold, the official said. Police found propofol and other drugs in the home. An IV line and three tanks of oxygen were in the room where Jackson slept and 15 more oxygen tanks were in a security guard's shack, the official said. Propofol can depress breathing and lower heart rates and blood pressure. Because of the risks, propofol is only supposed to be administered in medical settings by trained personnel. Instructions on the drug's package warn that patients must be continuously monitored, and that equipment to maintain breathing, to provide artificial ventilation, and to administer oxygen if needed "must be immediately available." Dr. Zeev Kain, who heads the anesthesiology department at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, said he has never encountered a situation where propofol was given in a home to help someone sleep. Such a situation would constitute malpractice, he said. Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who gave Jackson nutritional counseling and vitamins earlier this year, said he complained of insomnia and asked her repeatedly for Diprivan, the brand-name version of propofol. Lee said she warned him of the drug's dangers and rejected his requests. Los Angeles police interviewed Murray twice soon after Jackson's death. Last week, detectives flew to Houston and, along with federal drug agents, searched a medical clinic he ran and a storage unit he rented. They seized a long list of items, including the contents of three computer hard drives, two e-mails from his administrative assistant at the Las Vegas practice Murray ran and various other documents. A sealed search warrant approved by a Houston judge and later made public allowed authorities to seek "property or items constituting evidence of the offense of manslaughter that tend to show that Dr. Conrad Murray committed the said criminal offense." 5. MONICA - Angel of Mine The Boys Is Mine (1998) Man, this song is still beautiful after all of these years. It takes me back to late summer/fall 1998 when it was on the radio non-stop. I miss late 90's R-N-B right about now.
  6. I don't play videos games, but that looks cool. I love that Jazzy did the drop for this.
  7. There will be a 3rd one...somehow someway. Yes, all of the people involved make ALOT of money, but the movie will make more. On top of that, it seems like everyone involved in the Bad Boys movies has crazy love for it. The argument can be made that the Prince is only doing roles 2 progress as an actor, but FP has never been the traditional actor. He does it all and he takes risks. I mean, he went from ALI 2 MIIB...ha ha. Mark my words.
  8. I don't know....i think i would have did something where everyone had 5 votes and just had the list of emcees/rappers in front of them. After everyone had voted, the bottom 20% would be eliminated. Round 2 would have the remaining list and each person would have 3 or 4 votes. Then then the bottom percentage would be eliminated and so on. At least that way the most voted would be at the top for every round.
  9. Let's also keep in mind that the method of voting is totally wack. U have a handful of emcees and rappers paired against each other. Some greats had 2 go up against other greats, eliminating some great emcees in the very beginning...yet when u had a weaker rapper against another weak rapper, ONE OF THEM had 2 progress the next level when one of the greats HAD 2 be eliminated. I thought the voting method of this waz crap from the start. It was fun, but that's not it. I don't care who wins one bit. In my eyes, my top 10 favorite emcees are all my number one emcee. The next ten are amoungst my favz. It would be ridiculous for me (or anyone else 2 really number them. At the same time tho,' the very same things we are 2 keep in mind when voting are the same reasons they would be our pesonal opinion of the best emcee. I have 2 be real, when thinking about Fresh Prince against Rakim, i really get 2 thinking about everything. Is Rakim obviously better in every way? I mean, his releasing habits don't give us a whole lot 2 go off of. In the past 10 years he has released 2 studio albums. So much of his reputation is based off of his early career.
  10. Skee-Lo, Ahmad, Biz Markie, Timbaland + Magoo, Nick Cannon, Nitty, Young MC
  11. A handful of people here laugh at the fact that i love LFO. A few people here appriciate them. Anyways, when i first found out about them back in the 90's i was just totally in2 them. They wrote songs that reminded me of the kinda songs me and my cousin would write. On top of that, in their early days, they were basically a Hip-Hop group (not pop). I was definitly a huge fan when "Summergirls" dropped. It was just silly yet brilliant. "Girl On TV" just had a vibe and sound that nobody else had. Anyways, their 2nd album took more of a rock sound tho' Hip-Hop (amoungst other genres) was still heavily infuencing their style. That album was actually a big stepping stone for me accepting other music styles. When they went on their hiatus in 2003, i was crushed but still followed them (Brad starting 111 Records, Devin's solo career, Rich's other groups [bad Mood Mike, Loose Cannons], he solo music, Mission Man Band, and him conquoring cancer). Rich specifically is a big inspriation for me. I've never been a big fan of Vanilla Ice, but he kept a V-Ice poster up in his room long after he was popular as inspriation that white kid could make it in Hip-Hop. Anyways, his heavy Hip-Hop background, clever writing style, vocal style, down 2 earth attitude, and hilarious personality was something i just identified with (did i just compliment myself?). Anyways, they hung out for the 1st time in forever and it has lead to them doing a reunion tour. No album, no music video, no record label...just some minor promoting. As soon as i found out they were officially touring i scooped up tickets. Last night was the show. I drove 4 hours 2 the venue and showed up early 2 check things out, the owner saw me and my friend outside and opened the door and asked if we were coming to the show early. I said yeah and was wondering how many tickets sold, what time he recommend we come back if we wanna be up front. He asked if i wanted 2 see the place and we of course said yes. I don't know how many of u see concerts but venues NEVER do stuff like walk u around, let u in early etc. The venue was actually connected 2 a church so i'm guessing that was the main reason this guy was so welcoming. Walking down the hallway we ran in2 Brad. He asked how we were and sparked up a short convo. The owner showed us the room. As we walked out we passed Devin who had on headphones and was just vibing 2 the music....we didn't bug him. After lunch and some shopping we came back 2 the place 2 wait. After talking to the 2nd couple that showed up, i found out it was her comment on their Myspace page that helped me realize tickets were on sale before they group even advertised it. The crowd wasn't big AT ALL. Hardly anyone was there when they started. The one guy did and acoustic set which was nice. Even tho' almost nobody was there he still gave it his all and personally thanked me and the 3 other people who paid attention 2 him...ha ha. Next up was another acoustic artist Kiernan McMcMullan. He reminded me of John Mayer with a more solid (less breathy) voice. He sold out of albums the show before so i bought a burned CD-R that he personally burned that day..ha ha. Next up were 2 punk pop bands. I did think i was gonna be able 2 stand them at all. I think i was being prejudice towards the stretchy jeans and the awful haircuts. I'm not really in2 their kinda style but they were good and i liked their set. Next up was the moment i was waiting for for over 10 years. The fellaz came out and performed "Baby Be Mine" (one of my top 3 cuts off the 1st album). The guys just had total energy. Their different styles just work 2gether. It waz crazy 2 see them rocking this unfinished, unpainted, grass roots, spot when they used 2 perform for thousands at packed statiums, with choreography, female backup dancers, and outfit changes. This stage was just 2 feet off the ground, unfinished, instruments and wires everywhere. The vibe was just totally ill as they went down a dope set list (every song buy 2 or 3 of them were my personal top favorites). They reworked a few of their solo songs 2 fit the group. The audience built as the evening went one so buy the time LFO started their set it was much more packed. All i can say is that the show was great. Easily one of the best times of my life. Even tho' i have Rich's and Devin's solo albums, i bought them again cuz they were crazy cheap, bought a mini-poster for me and my friend and a VIP Fan pass which was just something 2 remember the evening by. Since i got the advance online tickets, they came with a Meet + Greet. I realized why LFO has so many fan pix posted online. They love their fans so much that after rocking a show, they meet their fans and talk with them....ALL OF THEM (who want 2 and got the tickets w/ Meet + Greets. Me, my friend Regina, and the 2 people we met as we were waiting got 2 hang out on their bus with the guys. The invited us 2 sit down. Rich looks up at me and says "you're the guy from Myspace!" A couple years ago Rich came across my profile and noticed i was an LFO fan and dropped me a line. We kept in touch for awhile. As his following got bigger I would drop him a line but i understand he couldn't get back 2 me as easily as before. Anyways, not only did he remember me, but he remembered my musical preference (since they are similar 2 his). He was like "You are into old school Hip-Hop...Heavy D, PM Dawn...i love PM Dawn." Here i am sitting with a huge inspiration in my life and we are talking about 80's and 90's Hip-Hop. When they found out we drove 4 hours 2 see them, they were genuinly thanking us for the support and for coming out. We joked about the one song they messed up (something went crazy with the back track...Rich and Brad tried 2 keep performing as they made faces 2 each other like "this isn't working" as the live band just abandoned them on stage. Since i knew most of the words 2 the entire set we joked about me helping them out. We took a picture and wished each other safe travelz. They signed our posters and off we went. I don't freak out about celebrities but when it comes 2 my top favz, i would expect myself 2 be a lil' nervous or hyped 2 see them. I literally felt like i was hanging out with good friends i had known for 10 years. As we walked back to the car, my friend Regina was so giddy. She didn't really know anything about LFO. On the ride down there i told her their story and made her listen 2 tons of their music. She remembered Summergirls, Girl On TV, and Every Other Time. She was also happy 2 see a show but it came across as no big deal 2 her. As they were performing, she got totally into them. She was smiling, jumping around, flipping her hair, and Devin was singing some of the lyrics 2 her. After the Meet + Greet she was smiling so big and said "I am seriously one of LFO's biggest fans now." Due to the fact that they haven't had a hit in 8 years, have no real manager, no real promotion, they are having some shows packed and some only kinda full but they are commited 2 growing whether they keep it at this level or go back 2 a major label. They are doing a mid-west tour and a west coast tour before covering the east coast again. I will definitely see one of their shows again. Just had 2 share my story... For those of u on Myspace, u can see a few pix from the show. Like i said, the stage was 2 feet high...my toes were against the stage...ha ha. I was that close. There's also a pic of us on the bus. Unfortunatly Rich is half blinking in it and it's the only pic we got. There's also the "Summergirls" video on there and Rich's "Story of My Life" video as well.
  12. I knew this was gonna happen. Crap. ha ha...gonna submerge myself in their music and vote on the last day.
  13. I like the energy on this. I like Beastie Boys but i've never been in2 'em that much. I have a handful of their albums. I liked Nas on his 1st 2 albums...since then he's done some blah stuff and some other good stuff...it just doesn't stay in my head and i don't go back 2 those albums. I like that Nas is working with peeps like BB instead of all of the commercial rap crap that his peers are working with. I just heard this song earlier 2day for the 1st time.
  14. The reason they give props 2 Lil' Waynes is becuz they probably don't follow commercial rap at all. Because Lil' Wayne is the most popular right now, they name drop who is more popular because it's hard 2 keep up with all the rappers since more of their careers are over in a year or 2. Can u imagin LL Cool J or any other emcee at that level seriously buying and listening 2 Lil' Wayne?!?!
  15. SOUL IV REAL - Every Little Thing I Do Candy Rain (1995) Man, i'm getting 2 know this album all over again. I miss R-N-B like this. SIVR needs 2 come back. Their 1999 album was good. Brothers don't break up...what happened?
  16. LL looks good...fresh, full of energy. He's definitely taking the high road. U can see stuff brewing in his head that just isn't being said. That fact that he said Lil' Wayne is talented is hilarious. I don't really believe he thinks that. He would have been more specific if he really admired him. How long is he gonna keep this attitude that he's not gonna do another full album. His most recent one just isn't holding me over. I only really liked about 6 or 7 tracks off that album. I thought the rest of it was his worst work ever musically...not so much lyrically.
  17. I know i've seen this performed sometime b4...but i don't think it was this performance. I remember when Tim told me about this track years ago. We were like "he can't really be on this song." I got the vinyl and there was the Fresh Prince...ha ha. Actually having him introduce who all was on the track helps u realize how new the concept was of mashing up the genres. Seeing the intro 2 the performance made me realize what a big deal the song was and the big names that were on it. The summer that Bad Boys 2 came out i was the lead in a rock and roll musical (Leader of The Pack) that was about the life of Ellie Greenwich who was singing background. Crazy how stuff like that ties 2gether. Thanx for posting this. 2 bad Whodini didn't make it 2 the performance. I also have 2 rub in that i found a rare CD promo of this song w/ the remixes.
  18. I've seen the commercial u are talking about. I'm talking about one that aired last summer. Why is this post still alive?
  19. Aresenio did and interview with the Prince where he was just wildin' out. I don't remember much from the interview other than FP being silly...maybe some mama jokes and making the interview difficult. I've only seen it once. U can probably find the interview on YouTube.
  20. LFO - Baby Be Mine LFO (1999) Seeing them live on Thursday...way 2 hyped...ha ha.
  21. RUN-DMC - Hit 'Em Hard Down With The King (1992)
  22. I really like "A Place With No Name." "Beautiful Girl" is a track off MJ's The Ultimate Collection from 2004 (i think...i know i have it). Since i've been listening 2 more MJ recently, there's a whole new energy that i'm picking up from his music. Certain lyrics mean more lyrically 2 me than what they meant back in the day.
  23. I am talking about this day in age. I mean, who is popular right now other than Lil' Wayne? Let's be honest. 2005, as crappy as it was, was in a better place than than 2009. The decline in the past 4 years has been about progressive as the last 8 or 10 years prior 2 that are. Who actually has a career in rap anymore? Look at all the fly by night talentless rappers of a couple years ago. Young Jock is nowhere in sight. Hurricaine Chris is gone (tho he just tried 2 drop a new single recently), Lil' Scrappy...anyone remember him. These carbon copy jokes are strickly one hit wonders. I wasn't challenging the article as i agree with alot of it. I didn't realize Andy wrote it (i would have conveyed the same opinion but in a more constructive way...sorry). I am kinda sick of my own complaining on the topic...and talking about it. Which is why i feel that anything without lots of name dropping (which this article definitely did) and deeper detail is just what so many of us discussed over the years. It's crazy 2 think that once was Hip-Hop music with different subgenres and vibes has now branched off in2 2 different music styles that the uneducated would consider the same kind of music.
  24. Eh, i don't like that the writer actually acknowledges Lil' Wayne and Soulja Boy as Hip-Hop in anyway shape or form. There will always be different sides of Hip-Hop and there will always be a difference of opinion. But pretty much anything labeled Hip-Hop or Rap these days that gets any success is not Hip-Hop at all. I've never heard any commercial rap artist like Lil' Wayne or Soulja Boy ever do anything tied 2 Hip-Hop culture. With out the culture being laced in the music, it's just Rap. There's nothing really impressive about the article in my opinion but thanx for sharing.
