  1. Good lookin' out! I hope you guys can go!
  2. Yeah, most of the time he has the lazy approach to his vocals. That's what what the top 40 rappers do so it probably affects his style.
  3. I tried to pick up the album today and couldn't find it anywhere. I had no idea Jazzy was on the album!!!! This song is so dope...it actually reminds me of 'Days Like This" Kenny Lattimore type stuff. I'll be searching for this album more tomorrow!
  4. Okay...the beat is DOPE. I like the old school vibe I picked up from the visuals as well.
  5. I believe what they were saying was "What is Will Smith...to Hip-Hop in 1996?" Keep in mind he officially retired in 1995, Code Red only made a ripple in the Hip-Hop world three years prior. Certainly they know of JJ+FP's importance to Hip-Hop, but after he separated himself from music for so long "Will Smith" was strictly a movie and TV star. Sure Hip-Hop and JJ+FP took up the most of his career but really distanced himself from that. While "Will Smith" was relevant to acting, the name itself was not worth much in Hip-Hop due to his own choices. I'm not disagreeing with there being a certain amount of ignorance to what is being said. After all, they are calling themselves out for the mind frame they were in and ended up working together extensively. It makes me wonder where their relationship stands now.
  6. I haven't listened to it in awhile because I've been preparing for my show, but I really love the album. Most of the remixes are club remixes, which SOUNDS like it could get a little boring, but I personally love it. They are different enough and they aren't the kind of club mixes that are all about just making noise rather than music. I think any semi-opened Jill Scott fan will like it. I was upset to see that they delayed the release of the second. There was supposed to be a total of three. I guess Hidden Beach changed their plans or wanted to see a little more success behind the 1st one. The thing is, nobody really knew about it. After all, did ANYONE other than myself on this board buy it?
  7. About a year ago, I watched something on TV that compared the fall of Rome to America. It's crazy how it looks like we are setting ourselves up to do the same. With us pulling back on war, it's undoing some of those things.
  8. I don't think this is insulting to FP. I think he is just being brutally honest in the interview. His way of conveying the story is the best but I feel that he's calling them and Coko out for their small minded approach to the track. SWV gave JJ+FP mad love when they did "I Wanna Rock" on the AMA's. I remember them groovin' to the performance so I can't imagine Coko being THAT against the idea of the song. Why would she even record it if she didn't like him?
  9. I must admit; I don't follow politics much. I would probably follow them closer if there was a presidential candidate that I was excited about...but there isn't. Traditionally I lean towards republican in the sense that more of their values line up closer with mine. At the same time, democrats traditionally claim to have plans to improve the lives of the lower and middle class. I don't have any faith an anyone running. I feel that president should be elected and that questions be asked during the election. The president's job would them be to carry out the peoples' desire rather than come up with their own plan. For example, Obamacare has no right to take my money and put it toward some slutty teenager's abortion. I'm often furious about how things are changed for the sake of being changed...NOT BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY LEAD TO IMPROVEMENT. I may make a lot of people mad by saying this, but the US frustrates me in the sense that laws are twisted and times are changing so that people can do and say whatever they want. That isn't real freedom. That's just freedom to live ignorantly and irresponsibly. This country was built on the idea of religious freedom with Biblical/moral principles. As we stray further and further from this principles, things just get worse...but since any change is supposedly good, those in political power simply pursue change in vain. I will be doing more research on the candidates. I've heard some of the things the main republican party is saying and they aren't sounding very intelligent. At the same time, I fail to see any real good that Obama has really accomplished. I've read some articles on him and all I've seen is conflicting news. I hold on to hope that things can turn around...but without discipline, who knows what will happen. This'll probably be the only time I post in this thread...but I'm curious what others have to say.
  10. I agree with what you are saying, but there's 2 limitations with MIB. 1) The MIB don't really have a personal life. 2) With the movies being an hour and a half (or less), there's not a lot of room for development.
  11. Hey, remember that time that summa y'all said the movie was a flop?
  12. I read this earlier and it really upset me. I didn't know much about Chris (other than the information in the various articles like this online. I just know he is responsible for a lot of Hip-Hop acts over the years. After all, BEP is legendary. He was one of LL's right hand men. I know his divorce must have been tough and his financial situations must of been stressful, but that stuff DOES get better. Very sad news. Rest in peace.
  13. Don't get me wrong, I prefer straight Hip-Hop...but this is ill. I love the piano and the experimental approach to the song. Like most of his songs, this one leaves me wishing he'd put more execution in his delivery.
  14. Interesting. I like it! Thanks for sharing.
  15. Sounds good! Congrats on the recording. Is it just me, or did the Lost + Found album cover inspire this pic?
  16. I'd really like them to do something together. Since we've heard more music from Jaden, we know he's all over the place musically. I'd like to see him get away from the "radio" side of rap and build himself in a stronger Hip-Hop foundation. At the same time, their different styles would be an interesting mash-up. Why do I detect a hilarious JJ+FP skit introducing the song? Maybe a proper reboot of "Parents Just Don't Understand."
  17. I haven't heard it yet and it's killin' me! I probably won't get to until Friday....but I'm crazy hyped.
  18. You know you can block those annoying games so that requests don't keep coming, right? LOL I assume they weren't close friends.
  19. LL Cool J Broken-Faced Intruder Faces LIFE in Prison Breaking NewsThe alleged burglar who got his face bashed in by LL Cool J has officially been charged with a crime ... and now faces LIFE IN PRISON if convicted ... TMZ has learned. Jonathan A. Kirby -- a 56-year-old transient -- has been charged with 1st degree burglary with a person present. But to make matters worse for Kirby, the L.A.
