I don't have cable so it's not like when I was at my parents house or a friends house chillin.' I used to watch it by stumbling upon it. I'm so busy now but as life calms down, I'll be breaking out the series on DVD. -

This is kinda interesting.I saw this on the Huffington Post.. How Tom Cruise Was Introduced To Scientology: REPORT The Huffington Post | By Stephanie Marcus Posted: 07/11/2012 2:43 pm Updated: 07/11/2012 7:54 pm Tom Cruise was already on his way to becoming a movie star well before he joined the Church of Scientology. With leading roles in hit films like "Risky Business" and "Top Gun," Cruise's celebrity status was quickly building, which made him a prime target to be inducted into the Church. The actor was first introduced to Scientology -- a religion that was founded in 1953 by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard -- in the late 1980s by his first wife, actress Mimi Rogers, whose father, Phil Spickler, was one of the church's most powerful members during the religion's early years, reports RadarOnline. Today, Cruise is both the highest-paid actor in Hollywood and the public face of Scientology, rumored to be second in command with only the church's current leader, David Miscavige, above him. It's a far cry from Cruise's younger self, a dyslexic kid who once reportedly aspired to become a Catholic priest. RadarOnline reports that Cruise was lured into Scientology by Rogers, who was seven years his senior, and became a believer when some of the church's methods helped him overcome his dyslexia. "I knew some of the people who kid-gloved him into becoming a member," said Nancy Many, a former Scientologist who left the church after 27 years and now "works to help others who have been victimized, and to expose the abuse and crimes of her former group," according to her website. Cruise's celebrity status meant special treatment, alleges Many, who explained that "everything was orchestrated and orientated. Tom has a problem reading so they don’t have him doing the course on his own and paired him up one-on-one." Karen Pressley, a commanding officer of the church's Celebrity Centre in Hollywood from 1987 to 1989, confirmed these allegations to CNN. "There was no bigger recruit than Tom Cruise," Pressley told CNN's Kareen Wynter. "My job was to ensure that celebrities were recruited, that celebrities were well serviced within our organization, and also to open up new celebrity centers around the world." Pressley also confirmed Many's claims that celebrity members received special perks, and said that Hubbard targeted celebrities with the intention of adding credibility to the church's beliefs. In exchange for special treatment, Pressley claims that church leaders expected their star members to stay committed to the organization and endorse its benefits. Cruise divorced Rogers in February 1990 and married actress Nicole Kidman in December that same year. Kidman reportedly never supported Scientology and Many claims that church officials manipulated Cruise into ending his marriage with the actress. "The level of manipulation is unbelievable, it is like 'The Truman Show,'" Many told RadarOnline. For years, Cruise's involvement with the church seemed like a mild quirk, even when it was reported in 2001 that the religion played a major role in his split from Kidman. The actor's beliefs publicly came to the forefront in January 2004, when he announced that he thought psychiatry should be outlawed, and again in 2005 when he openly criticized actress Brooke Shields for using antidepressants to treat her postpartum depression, which led to an embarrassing argument with "Today" show host Matt Lauer. With Cruise speaking so publicly about his beliefs, it prompted some to wonder if the actor had taken on an official leadership role within the church. When asked for comment about Cruise's level of involvement in the organization, the Church of Scientology International directed all questions about the actor to his publicist and lawyer. Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields, told The Huffington Post that, "Tom Cruise has no official role, title or position in the Church of Scientology. He is simply a parishioner." Cruise may not have an official role in the church, but he's easily the religion's most identifiable member, which is why as soon as news broke that his third wife, actress Katie Holmes, had filed for divorce on June 29, it was widely reported that Scientology played a major role in her choice to end the marriage -- specifically her concerns for the couple's 6-year-old daughter Suri's involvement with the Church. The former couple were able to reach a settlement agreement just over a week after Holmes reportedly blindsided Cruise with the news. The details of the settlement are to remain private, but Cruise's lawyer issued a statement downplaying the church's role in Cruise's divorce. "Let me be very clear about this. The Church of Scientology played absolutely NO ROLE in the divorce settlement talks at all. Period. The mere suggestion that the Church was involved in any element of the talks and ultimate settlement is categorically false. Anyone suggesting otherwise is just wrong," Fields told RadarOnline.

Fat Boys first album released in pizza box
JumpinJack AJ replied to dparrott's topic in Caught in the Middle
This is awesome news! I will be picking it up. The Fat Boys' albums are relatively hard to find and often expensive when you find 'em. I love when classic albums get this kinda of treatment. -
There's a difference between people being over-sensitive to something that's said and someone saying something that's clearly just ignorant. My best friend's nephew has autism and I've seem many of the challenges that come with that. 50 Cent was clearly talking about something he knows nothing about. I'm in no position to defend another persons behavior, nor should I judge...but that groupie who claimed 2Pac raped her was just trying to get some money out of the deal. DMX's animal cruelty charges came from a caretaker who didn't take care of his dogs properly while he was on tour.

Will Smith is a f-cking scum bag! [VIDEO EVIDENCE]
JumpinJack AJ replied to kylio_27's topic in Will Smith Movies
He can be all of the scumbag you want him to be in your head. At least he isn't a scumbag who joined a message board simply to tear down someone because they don't have the same opinion as you. If you only associate with people who have all the same opinions as you, I assume you have no friends. After I ban you from the board, try growing up. Peace. -
In case you had your doubts, he's still an idiot.

50 Cent Autism Tweets: Holly Robinson Peete Writes Letter To Rapper In Response To Offensive Statements Posted: 07/05/2012 2:00 pm Updated: 07/05/2012 2:00 pm 50 Cent has found himself in hot water. The rapper, who has a rather colorful Twitter presence -- and 6.8 million followers -- recently made statements that offended people with autism and parents of kids with autism. Given that new data shows one in 88 American kids are on the autism spectrum, that's a very large community to ostracize. The ugly tweets were in response to an eager fan who wrote to 50: "Release the album or get shot again." The rapper allegedly tweeted back, "yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic." And, he didn't stop there. "I dont want no special ed kids on my time line follow some body else," he posted later. Unsurprisingly, the twitterverse was horrified. Actress and autism activist Holly Robinson Peete, took to her own website to write an open letter to 50 Cent expressing her disappointment with his actions. Peete asked questions and presented the facts: Do you even know what autism is? And what exactly does “autistic” look like? Do you know how wildly prevalent autism is? 1 in 88 have it. That’s 1 in 54 boys. Families suffer a social stigma you will never know. It is a financial and emotional drain for millions... And then, she showed 50 what autism really looks like -- her 13-year-old son Rodney. He is in special ed. He loves rap music and is a HUGE fan of yours. He’s a tremendous kid. He has to deal with so much trying to fit in. This isn’t helping. At the very least, Peete requested that 50 delete his insulting tweets. He has obliged, but many parents in the special needs community aren't satisfied. One mother, Miz Kp, whose 4-year-old son is on the autism spectrum, is waiting for a real apology. "In addition to giving an apology, 50 Cent needs to learn more about autism and the families affected by it. Lack of exposure can also breed ignorance," she wrote on her blog, Sailing Autistic Seas. Many other autism bloggers have chimed in. Jeannette, aka Autism Mama, wrote "autism is known as the invisible disability," and then posted several photos of kids on the spectrum. Babble writer, Joslyn Gray, who has two children with autism reposted a video she made in April (for Autism Awareness Month) in response to the controversy. In real life, the video says, those with autism don't necessarily "look" like Rain Man or Forrest Gump -- that's only what movies would have you believe. In reality, as evidenced by her 3-minute photo montage, kids with autism look like any other kid: happy, smiley and adorable. Some parents on Twitter have suggested boycotting 50 Cent's products and music. But Phil Evans, a 25-year-old with Asperger Syndrome thinks the rapper's misstep should be used as a lesson -- "Think before you talk." On his blog My Autistic Life, Evans wrote: "Offending those who have autism may not have been intentional but when thoughts are released into such a public space, always consider what is being said when people could be affected by it."

LL Cool J Talks Working On New Album
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think Exit 13 was his weakest album when it came to it's sound. The production/sound of the album was all over the place. It's not that I minded that so much, it was that half of it wasn't very good. The subject matter was mostly good and so were the lyrics. There were a few moments that came across as to simple or common for LL. I'm hoping/assuming the next album will be more on point. -
I like the confidence he has but I hated that beat. I'm with Brakes, "Give It To Em" is his best yet. I think the very end of the video is hilarious.

This is definitely a beautiful song. I saw this online a few days ago and fell in love with it. It's one of those insanely personal songs for the artist that the listener can make personal to themselves. She's got a beautiful voice that can back up her quirkiness. She's artsy and a strong artist way beyond her years.

I'd have to disagree. First off, he's a great singer...and his voice sounds great even though this is a YouTube video. He dances with about 40% the intensity of MJ, but he's got showman ship and the crowd is loving it. He could hate that the FPofBA has defined his career but he embraces, has fun, and pleases the people.
-
I just love the fun beat with the sound effects buried in it. Just hearing Jazzy sample "bite it" has a nostalgic feeling that takes me back to the 80's. The video is done in low budget 80's JJ+FP form with the art work, the passing of the steering wheel, the look of the car, etc. Toss a little bit of breaking and an FPofBA shirt. Songs like this aren't made any more and are a nod to JJ+FP original formula. I can't convert anyone who isn't feeling it, but maybe give it a listen in a couple of days.

JODECI - Good Luv The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel (1995) I've always loved this song. The whole album just takes me back to a really good place. They have recorded over 200 songs in the last few years and they are finally starting to piece and album together and plan a tour! I wanted to post the article but it was during the time the board was down.

Other than FP and Tom being rich movie stars, I don't see them as similar. He said he did not practice Scientology. He's spoken of God and his Christian beliefs. FP is genuine in interviews and gives encourages people. He gels with nearly everyone he meets because he likes people and isn't socially awkward. He's approachable and the vast majority of people respect him. Can we say all of those things about Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise comes across as condescending sometimes. As I see it, he believes he's better than a lot of people and too good for certain events/people/etc. He's awkward in interviews and on the red carpet, as if if it's something he's forced to do. He seems much more "untouchable" because of those qualities. Also, the level of respect he gets hasn't been what it was in the 80's and the first half of the 90's. My point is not to trash the guy. I'm merely stating facts that I believe to be not too argumentative. And like Schnazz said, this is a discussion on a message board. I'm not writing articles and posting YouTube videos for the sake of trashing him. I'd like to see him be a personality that people gravitate to. I'd like to see him find success in his career. Not saying he should believe what I believe, but I'd like to see him have faith in something that isn't ridiculous. In short, I wish good things for him like I wish them for anyone and everyone. I'm just saying how I observe things from my opinion.
