Instead of a new album what about
JumpinJack AJ replied to analogue's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I think it's commonly known that we'll all be happy to take WHATEVER we can get. LL Cool J casually and randomly would drop a song prior to his new album forming. He was just being free with it. I wish FP did it. He'd be able to try things and keep a small presence in between albums. -
2PAC - Dear Mama (Big Mama Mix) Dear Mama 12" Single (1994) Man, the 3 remixes on the 12" are just perfect....so much better than the more popular Moe Z single that made it on some CD single releases. They NEED to release a CD set with all the remixes, alternate/clean versions, and instrumentals from all of his singles.

DJ Jazzy Jeff - The Block Party Vol 1
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't know if I'd consider it interesting. It sounds it'll just be loaded down with classic. I'm sure that'll make it better than his last. I liked the last one but found it hard to swallow when it came to the newer songs on it that sucked. I'm STILL not happy that he never did that Heavy D mixtape. -
Funny....I laughed out a loud a few times.

LL Cool J Talks Working On New Album
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Nah, I love the beat. It's classic, straight Hip-Hop. It's got the mid-90's, late night, cruisin' music vibe. The chimes, the piano, the smooth sound. I love it. I hate when beats are doing too much and distract from the lyrics, which should always be the focus of a dope Hip-Hop song. I love that he worked with true R-N-B legend like Joe when he could have easily gotten with a newer artist. I also love his delivery on this. On a separate note, I was digging through used CDs at this one store today and picked up a Columbia Record compilation called Everybody Dance Now from 1991. It has the Crypt 12" Remix of "Around The Way Girl." I didn't even know this remix existed!!! It's not too terribly different from the original version but I loved hearing one of my favorites in a new way. -
I have a lot of hope and I'm not sweatin' it. I'm only frustrated that it's taking this long. I don't take his occasional rhyming as teases...simply signs to less us know that more of it is in the future.

REDEMPTION!! CHECK LL'S NEW TRACK. I guess he wanted to clean up the poor response that "Ratchet" received last week. LL COOL J w/ JOE "TAKE IT" THIS IS SO DOPE!!! -
Here's an article from Global Grind with comments from Kurupt and her son. It briefly mentions how Blaque and TLC were at her funeral this past weekend. http://globalgrind.com/entertainment/natina-reed-funeral-kurupt-son-photos Here's another article saying how she was living in a motel at the time that she passed. I have no idea why this is relevant news....I guess just for the curious people. Haters were saying she was broke, but at $45 a night, she couldn't have been that broke. Other insiders said that she was getting her new house together and assume that's why she was at a hotel. Her mother also says the police aren't really providing her family with information about the accident. Police are quoted saying there's nothing really in the area that she was in at the time, but people from ATL are saying there's a Walmart and multiple gas stations. Before ANY news came out, it was said that she was walking to a gas station to pick up a few things. http://globalgrind.com/entertainment/natina-reed-dead-motel-home-death-photos Lastly,... Police Seeking Help In Investigation Of Natina Reed's Death (PHOTOS) Posted October 29, 2012 by The Decider for Global Grind Staff Previous Photo1 / 5Next Photo The femcee of the girl group Blaque always let her presence be known. || Photo Credit: Getty Gwinnett County Atlanta Police are still trying to piece together why R&B singer Natina Reed of the female group Blaque, was struck and killed late Friday while standing in a roadway just north of Lilburn. As reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution: Gwinnett County police would like to speak to “anyone who might have information about anything that could help us determine why she was there, anything to help us understand how this came together,” said police spokesman Sgt. Rich Long. “As of right now, it does not appear that the driver has any fault in this event,” said Long, who added that it was the driver who contacted police about the accident. The driver, who was not immediately identified, was not expected to be charged, the spokesman said. Long said investigators were still trying to determine why Reed was in the roadway and whether she was crossing or walking alongside it. The spokesman said CPR was performed at the scene and Reed was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m. Long said other than the driver and a passenger in the car, there did not appear to be any additional witnesses. The spokesman said more information would be released as facts become available. Reed died two days before her 33rd birthday. Reed had a 10-year-old son and was once engaged to rapper Kurupt. SNOOP LIONY LION - REGGAE ALBUM
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
Anyone seen the video for the Snoop Lion project. I must say it's a bit of a hot mess. Clearly the vision for the video was done under the influence of weed. It's like a low-budget 80's drug trip. My hopes were that this would be Snoop rhyming over legit reggae and dancehall beats with a change in his subject matter. That's not the case, he's trying to sing sing reggae, and it's not working out so good for him. Let's just say it's safe to say that Heavy D's "Vibez" will be the one an only legit reggae/dancehall album to come from a Hip-Hop artist.- 6 replies

Hence me deeming as a waste of a minute. And he's smiling as it walks up to his car so he's not reacting to them asking about a new album (as the title leads us to believe). -

LL Cool J Talks Working On New Album
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Anyone listen to LL's new single? Seems like he's taking the same route as Exit 13, which isn't really a good thing. The beat is watered down and unfortunately sounds like something you'd hear on the radio. The vocals on the hook are stupid. His delivery is good but nothing special. The lyrics and subject matter is less than inspiring. This almost sounds like a filler cut that wasn't included on The DEFinition, Todd Smith, or Exit 13. A word to LL, stop trying to compete with these young, mentally challenged rappers on the radio. You always make great music when you just do you. -

I like the hook but the beat is empty. He's got something to say but the monotone delivery just takes all of the feeling out of the song. I just can't believe a song that has no emotion behind such personal lyrics.

The Fresh Prince appearance made MTV.com's news.... Oct 29 2012 1:59 PM EDT 572 Will Smith Kicks A Fresh Prince Freestyle At Gabrielle Union's Birthday Doug E. Fresh takes the stage with Smith to perform his '90s hits 'Summertime' and 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' By Rob Markman (@RobMarkman) You can take the Prince out of hip-hop, but you can't take hip-hop out the Prince. These days Will Smith is more focused on big film deals and guiding the careers of his children, but over the weekend the Fresh Prince gave a throwback performance at actress Gabrielle Union's 40th birthday bash in Miami, and of course it all ended up on a YouTube video captured by Ozone magazine editor-in-chief Julia Beverly. With 1980s rap pioneer Doug E. Fresh on the beatbox, the Hollywood money magnet kicked a freestyle where he first encouraged the ladies to scream "Owwwww" and the homeboys to shout "Hoooo." Smith's impromptu lyrics got more intricate when he reminded the frenzied crowd that the sky's the limit when he spit, "My mind's the only boundary from what I wanna be." Big Willie Style took the energy up another few notches by performing his 1991s classic "Summertime" and then the unforgettable theme song to his 1990 hit television show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." In a second clip, Doug E. Fresh proved that his rap influence is still shining as he jacked the beat for Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How to Dougie" and showed the crowd how to properly do the dance which he invented in the 1980s when he and Slick Rick were in the Get Fresh Crew. "Wow. Epic night. Fresh prince and dougie fresh just shut it down," tweeted Miami Heat basketball star and Gabby's beau Dwyane Wade. "Like..This. Happened," Union chimed in response. -

Saturday, October 27th 2012 Blaque Release Statement On Death Of Natina Reed / More Details Of Incident Emerge As the Urban music community continues to mourn the tragic death of singer Natina Reed, the surviving members of the late star’s group Blaque have released a statement. The words of Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-DeVoe come on the heels of further details surrounding the circumstances of Reed’s untimely passing. Full story below… Via US Weekly: “We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.” The whole episode is so incredibly sad. While initially reported as a “hit and run”, authorities close to the investigation have confirmed otherwise. A press release sent to E! read: “The driver of the vehicle contacted 911 to request assistance. Natina Reed was pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center at 10:59 p.m. E.S.T. Preliminary information indicates that Reed was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway near Hamilton Road when struck. The driver involved was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending.” Brandi would later tweet: B. Williams @TheBrandiD Last night the world was changed forever, life will never be the same....she was my sister. 27 Oct 12 Shamari added: Shamari DeVoe @ShamariDeVoe My heart and my soul is in so much pain. My sister, my best friend, I will always love you. 27 Oct 12 Shamari DeVoe @ShamariDeVoe My world as I know it has forever changed. Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina. 27 Oct 12 My world as I know it has forever changed. Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina. — Shamari DeVoe (@ShamariDeVoe) October 27, 2012 " rel="external nofollow"> ******** Although a spec of comfort can be sourced from fact that it wasn’t a callous hit and run, the end result isn’t any less painful. For, the reality of the matter is that a woman has died prematurely at the age of 32, and her 10 year old son is now without a mother. Again, our sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to Natina’s family and friends.
