  1. Thanks for sharing that. I've definitely never seen that before.
  2. YES! Usher Reuniting With Jermaine Dupri For New Album Mar 20, 2013 By Hello Beautiful Jermaine Dupri and Usher created classic music such as “Confessions,” as a duo. The 2004 release, which is hailed as a classic, remains Usher’s highest selling album and the last R&B album to sell 10 million copies. For a while, we weren’t sure if the duo would ever work together again but, all that changed when a photo of the boys, with the caption “Me and Usher back in the lab,” putting our speculations to an end! In an interview with TheUrbanDaily, Jermain Dupri spoke about the high expectations surrounding them working together. When you do the records and you do that many numbers, and you have that many number ones, it’s a lot riding on your back. It would have to be something me and Usher sit around and talk about because it’s not like we can just go in the studio because y’all gonna critique it against “Confessions.” I don’t ever feel like I’ve made a record better than the ones I’ve already made. I don’t think I ever made a song bigger than “Jump.” But I did “confessions” and “We Belong Together.” These records have a place out there that feels like they’re bigger but I don’t believe that they’re bigger. So in my mind, I’m saying, “I don’t know if I can make a song bigger than “Confessions.” I believe I can because I have a bone in my body that says Quincy Jones was 50 when he did --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but I'm HYPED. Usher's dabbling in dance/electronica is tired and disappointing me. The music just isn't that good even though he's one of the greatest artists of our time. I'm hoping that him and JD come up with some legit R&B/Soul/Hip-Hop. His first 4 albums are flawless in my opinion. His fifth isn't bad, though I think it's focus is a little scattered. His two most recent albums (especially his latest) are rather awful. I'm really excited to see what they come up with!!
  3. Thanks for sharing that. I agree...the song has great energy, but the production is a bit underdone.
  4. Like I said on Facebook, I love this video. Where did the "wheelchair thief" come from? Is it random or is it actually pulled from something?
  5. That was definitely fun. I hadn't gotten around to watching this until now.
  6. I'm no film critic. I simply want to be entertained. I've spent the last 10 years trying movies that I initially wasn't interested in, and often being surprised. This kind of move isn't normally the kind of thing I would have an interest in, but I can honestly say I wanna see it. The visuals look amazing and the story seems interesting (and rather original). I like that FP is doing a different character since he often plays various versions of himself. He's stretching and trying to make this character different from the others. I feel that those who are being critical towards the film will enjoy it when they see it. ...simply because that used to be me. Let's just be thankful it's not a sequel to ID4...lol.
  7. Reality Show Alert! 90′s Group SWV (Sisters With Voices) is Up Next… Mar, 12 2013 | Written by ATLien Word on the curb is that Taj, LeeLee and Coko of the 90′s girl group SWV (Sister’s With Voices) have jumped aboard the reality show gravy train! The trio has reportedly finalized a deal for a reality series scheduled to air on the WE TV network. Details about the new show below… Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Leanne “LeLee” Lyons, and Tamara “Taj” George will star in an unscripted docu-drama produced by eOne Entertainment that will chronicle their recent resurgence in music, the off-stage dynamic between the ladies, explore why the group broke up in the late 90′s, and showcase their personal lives off stage. Murray reveals that SWV apparently shot the pilot for their reality series with eOne Entertainment last fall. The name of the show and premiere date have not yet been announced and WE-TV has not confirmed (or denied) reports of the new reality show. 8. BRITT NICOLE + LECRAE - Ready Or Not Gold (2012/2013) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fccqaKTz3Ko
  9. I don't think they are pushing them into the industry. Those kids are surrounded my music, movies, and TV every day. They access to entertainment and big events so they are immersed in it. FP and Jada could do whatever they want with the position they have. If they were forcing them, Willow and Jaden would already have albums out and would be pumping out videos, movies, etc on the regular. These are just kids who have access to do whatever they want. Plus they don't have to go far for advice. I don't think that many people are following or aware of the Annie project. The main foreseeable mistake is to have Jay-Z involved.
  10. B. REITH - Comeback Kid Now Is Not Forever (2009) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MpmIDums_c
  11. I got that 12" years ago...I flipped when I heard the Summertime Mix. It's one of the best remixes EVER. DE LA SOUL - Long Island Degrees Stakes Is High (1996) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WDGA1nprW0 Can someone bring back 1996?
  12. LEFT EYE - Forever (Remix) Eye Legacy (Japan Import) (2009) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF6TPG1f65o I like this version much better than the one they put on the album.
  13. Here's a pic T-Boz posted from the TLC bio pic that they just started shooting (they just cast it like 2 weeks ago!). They are very adamant about making it's 90's-legit. And I love T-Boz's new solo song! It just has a great sound and I find it really inspirational. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sspa5o-AzW4
  14. TLC is making a big comeback this year, so I wanted to make a thread for all that coming. Julie and I are definitely HUGE fans but I know there's a handful of others out there. VH1's bio-pic is cast and in the works and TLC is heavily involved. They are recording new songs and re-recording some of their hits for the 20th anniversary package (they re-recorded "Diggin' On You" this week). Anyways, here's an incredibly raw and real interview with T-Boz from of months ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d37VeUQgzw Also, here's a song the recorded from some Japanese compilation album last summer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOmOTVQZf3E You can buy the song here: http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow/dp/B008BRERVM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362618825&sr=8-2&keywords=tlc+rainbow Plus, T-Boz's new song "Champion": http://www.amazon.com/Champion/dp/B00B6C703G/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362618864&sr=301-1
  15. Here I am again. My family got a new dog back in December. She's 4 years and was previously abused. For three months she's had a good, loving, comfortable life. Last week all of that changed. She had lyme disease, which we didn't know, and while it can sometimes be treated, it got to her kidneys before we knew. In many cases, that is a "death sentence." She's acting very old now and she has no appetite. Her kidneys were only operating at 10% the other day. The future is uncertain, but many signs say she isn't getting better and that we will have to put her to sleep soon. This is obvious heartbreaking, especially to my mom, who has health battles and spends much of every day with her. I'm praying for healing and for a future free from the discomfort this disease could cause. If that's not an option, then we need to know when is the right time to help her get to the next life. This is coming at a very difficult and stressful time for me and it just feels like everything is crashing down (again). Prayers are requested all around.
  16. Thanks for sharing this. I love K-Os but I don't follow him very closely (so I had no idea the new album was out). I like his previous stuff a little better than the tracks you shared, but I'm still definitely gonna get it in the upcoming weeks. I also like to see that there's others out there still buying albums.
  17. I just think Kanye has gotten really awful over the years. His production has gone greatly down hill. His lyrics and subject matter are ultimately irrelevant and I can't stand his voice. He was never the best emcee, but he hasn't held on the sensibility he had earlier in his career. Everything about his music has gotten sloppy and common since 2008 in my opinion. I recently watched some YouTube videos of him in concert and I didn't find any entertaining qualities to the performance. I'm not hating...I actually liked lots of his first 3 albums. From then, there's been very few songs he's touched that I liked. Unfortunately his personality and behavior don't redeem his musical short comings. That was me just taking a jab at the fact he is fully capable of making of making music like All Falls Down, Slow Jams, and Good Life...but he insists on making songs like "Click."
  18. ROBERT GLASPER w/ ERYKAH BADU + PHONTE - Afro Blues (9th Wonder Remix) Black Radio Recovered - The Remix EP (2012) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq8Oj29HbP0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq8Oj29HbP0
  19. Okay, this is weird. I downloaded the clean version of "Ratchet" when it first dropped (just because I was happen for some new LL). I've since gone back to download "Take It" and "Whaddup" and neither are available anymore. "Take It" is completely gone and "Whaddup" is listed but is "not available." That sucks. I can't wait another 2 months and was gonna make a new mix.
  20. I just watched that interview. That interviewer is like an 11 year hold who's had too much sugar. ...An 11 year hold who's what too much sugar that I want to run over with my car.
  21. I only check this movie board from time to time. I read read the mini-review above. All I have to say is...General Cypher. Really? A B-movie could have come up with a better name than that. It sounds like a character from an 80's kid's show.
  22. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/24/mc-hammer-arrested_n_2754939.html MC Hammer Arrested For Obstructing An Officer, Claims He's A Victim Of Racial Profiling Posted: 02/24/2013 2:24 pm EST | Updated: 02/24/2013 2:24 pm EST Video, MC Hammer, MC Hammer Twitter, Mc Hammer Arrest, Mc Hammer Arrested, Mc Hammer Arrested Obstructing An Officer, Mc Hammer Authorities, Mc Hammer Jail, Mc Hammer Jailed, Mc Hammer Racial Profiling, Mc Hammer Style, Mc Hammer Tweets, Celebrity News MC Hammer is claiming he was a victim of racial profiling after he was arrested for allegedly obstructing and resisting an officer in Northern California. The 50-year-old rapper took to Twitter to discuss the situation shortly after his release from the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Saturday. "Chubby elvis looking dude was tapping on my car window, I rolled down the window and he said 'Are you on parole or probation?'" tweeted Hammer (real name, Stanley Kirk Burrell). "While I was handing him my ID he reached in my car and tried to pull me out the car but forgot he was on a steady donut diet," he continued. According to Fox News, Dublin police Lt. Herb Walters told the Oakland Tribune that Hammer was arrested Thursday for investigation of obstructing an officer in the performance of their duties and resisting an officer. Still, Hammer stands by his version of the arrest, adding on Twitter, "I will now answer his question, contrary to his personal beliefs, all people of color are not on parole or probation fat boy!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This really annoyed me. The whole Hip-Hop cops and racial profiling is already ridiculous, but what cop actually thought going after MC Hammer was a good idea. He's a pastor. He's laid back. He's stood against guns, drugs, and gangs his whole career. What benefit is there messing with MC Hammer. At least Rick Ross is going to have a gun in his car. At least Lil' Wayne is going to have drugs on him... Based on his character, I don't doubt a word MC Hammer says and I hope the investigate the situation.
  23. I'd hardly consider that giving him props...lol. Is there a video that continues that conversation? I'm so hyped to see Arsenio on TV again. It makes me consider wanting to get cable. Arsenio and FP go way back so I bet it won't take long for him to be on the show. He even put the "Boom! Shake The Room" interview on his website recently.
  24. I think LL is wise for bumping the release date back a month and a half. He definitely felt the reaction of appreciation for the 2 songs he's performed/released after "Ratchet" tanked. He's changed the album artwork and changed the title to "Authentic." Here's the new cover, it definitely looks more artsty...
