I don't ever really believe there is anything else released. I think we know about all of it. When we found out about "Don't Fight The Feeling" i think almost all of us were hesitant 2 believe it waz real.

I know u are a dedicated follower, i waz just sayin' in general.

I'm watching the 3rd episode right now focusing on the 91-94ish era. It's focusing on the uprise of "gangsta" rap from The Chronic. Man, this is takin' me back 2 a crazy time in life. This episode is kinda funny cuz not much of the old skool artists and Hip-Hop historians have much 2 say...it's the same people over and over again. Dr. Dre and Snoop are speaking and they are showing old footage and interviews of the early Deathrow and 2Pac. MC Hammer and Fresh Prince didn't say anything until they started talking about 2Pac. Both of them gave props 2 lyrics 4 how he came up and his lyrics...but other than that, they didn't have anything say. Let's just say "if u ain't got nuttin' nice 2 say...don't say nothin.'"

Talib Kweli "I Try" feat. Mary J. Blige
JumpinJack AJ replied to mfuqua23's topic in Caught in the Middle
I havn't heard it yet...but Talib Kweli always has my support. That guy has skillz. He's an emcee that can do no wrong. I'll be checkin' 4 it tho.' -
50 Cent did change his style. I used 2 listen 2 some cameos and mixtape stuff stuff back around 1998 and he style is very different...at least the stuff i heard waz. It waz better than what his style is now. Bottom line, he's sell out 2 his original style. Listen 2 the music...the proof is there. I'm not saying 50's fanbase is exclusivly white teenagers...but the older people know better and they aren't gonna be attracted 2 music like that. Not most of them who are really in2 Hip-Hop.
-
Yeah, at least shortly after the album drops. If it's not sucessful, it's probably not worth even trying tho.'

My opinion of him has nothing 2 do with him being puerto rican or a devirsity in Hip-Hop, i just didn't like him that much. I'm not dissing him at all, i just think there's quite a few people out there alot better than him. There's trax like that unreleased "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" remix, "On Point" with Heavy D, "Feel So Good" with Jennifer Lopez, and a 1998 track he did with Digital Underground that i really like that feature him. One think that killed me tho' is that when he rapped fast and had 2 gasp for breath in between lines he's make this noise that just grossed me out. I couldn't believe they didn't edit it out 4 the final version of some of those songs.

FP loves Public Enemy. He goes on in a 1988 Spin article about how they are the perfect example of Hip-Hop. I didn't see that episode but he's in the 1st one and there's hardly any hair on his head!! How could their be a grey hair?!?

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR 2 BE RELEASED ON DVD
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
U'd expect them 2 air the commercial during The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on Nick At Nite. I watch it whenever i can and haven't seen it myself yet. -
Y'all should know better than downloading stuff...especially cuz people who upload stuff are generally idiots. This track can go in the same category as that Eazy-E song "College Girls" that people labeled as a JJ+FP song on Napster. It's amazing how some people know nothing about the music they put online.

VH-1 started as a low-budget adult comtemporary TV station. In the mid-90's they started getting a lil' hipper. Now they are a like a Top 40 station that has fun with pop culture. They aren't a Hip-Hop station...but they do give props 2 Hip-Hop.

I respect OutKast's solo album(s). I think it's a very creative idea and look what it's done for their careers!! They'll be doing another album soon...they never wait that long. I still prefer their old stuff tho.' TLC's situation is depressing 2 me. Think about it...CrAzYSeXyCOol sold over 11 million copies. FanMail did about 8 million copies...not 2 mention the old skool fans who made OoOoOoOhhh...On The TLC Tip go 3 times platnium. I think it's amazing that that many people would sell out on them...especially after all they have been thru.' The quality of music hasn't suffered much either. TLC has been around for over 10 years so their carrer as a group and as solo artists waz established. Big Pun on the other hand wazn't around that long so no legacy is really guarenteed. He only had made so many hits. Personally, i never thought he waz that great in the 1st place. No disrespect, but i wazn't feeling him. A Tribe Called Quest definitly isn't 4gotten. They just haven't done anything since 1998 so u can't expect 2 much. U would think their solo projects would have done better tho.' I'm so happy 2 hear they are coming back out tho.' A Tribe Called Quest can definitly put some band-aids over the shots-in-the-arm that fools like Nelly and 50 have put in rap music.

Well, i have my inventory saved on a spreadsheet style document. There are some spaces in the document there but the rows are numbered so i could look at it and get an idea of how many. I need 2 update a lil' bit tho.' My collection is a lil' crazy...i'll say that.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR 2 BE RELEASED ON DVD
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I asked him 2nite. He said he saw a commercial 4 it. It dosen't get any realer than that!! He also mentioned the release of the 2nd season of In Living Color which came out last week. I looked 4 it every where last week and couldn't find it...so i'm pretty sure FPofBA hasn't been released yet cuz i would have seen it wen i waz looking for In Living Color. -
Sharktale $300 Million Worldwide... and counting
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Will Smith Movies
HA HA!! YESS!!!! I love hearing newz like this!! Go on FP!! -
SharkTale is perfect. I think the movie stands on it's own. I don't know if a sequel is a good idea. I'm sure they could pull it off tho' if they handel it right.
-
Well...they were both in Enemy of The State.
-
...and now it is!! Talk about a fly moderating team.

I do think Ludacris is a definitly a step up from your average popular rapper these days...but i don't see him as anything special. I 1st heard him on Timbaland's 1998 album "The Bassment." That track he's on "Fat Rabbit" is dope...some of his early stuff waz real good 2. However, i don't like much of his stuff anymore. "Gold Digger" off the SharkTale soundtrack is great tho.' I've seen him live tho'...very boring. Just walking back and forth on stage rapping/yelling.
-
I had a class and couldn't catch it. I thought they were gonna air it again in a few minutes but i just found out they aren't. I'll catch it soon tho.'
-
Yeah, when Run-DMC's deal waz revised in 1999, they rereleased all the albums remastered. I also have Eric B. + Rakim's remastered "Paid In Full" with the bonus disc of remixes (that were only available on vinyl til then). The rereleased it again 4 it's 20th Anniversary. I really want 2 get that 2 but there's only like 1 new remix on it. I don't think i can pay $30 for one song...well, i've done it for JJ+FP.
-
That would have been great 2 attend!! Shouldn't this be on the DJ Jazzy Jeff board tho'?
-
I'm in trouble, i splurged 2day...got the import version of Alicia Keys' "Diary of..." album (4 the bonus CD w/ remixes and videos), Usher's "Confessions: Special Edition), and Jon B.'s "Stronger Everyday." And i don't think i can hold out 2 long 2 get De La Soul's new album.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR 2 BE RELEASED ON DVD
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm gonna see the guy who heard this 2nite...i'll try 2 remember 2 ask him where he heard it from. I'm assuming it's pretty legit cuz i don't think he'd lie about it 4 no reason. I like them releasing them season by season tho'. If they released the whole series at once, i couldn't exactly pull $500 outta my pocket 2 buy it. -
If the the people who don't own the maters do it officially...it's not really worth doing.
