  1. That's about as corney as when they say "gch gch gch G-U-nit!!" This isn't pre-school.
  2. ...and 2 hear a song on the charts that isn't about sex, drugs, or jewelry. It'll be good 2 hear a postivie song.
  3. U gotta give an album a few listens b4 making up your mind. I've had a few albumw where i didn't like them much at all...but after a few listens, they turned in2 one of my favorite albums of all time. After all, they were "Will Smith" albums, u can hold the same JJ+FP standards 2 them. About "Who Am I"...i think that track is dope. I think MC Lyte is kinda outta place over Darkchild production, but i would have Willennium without her on it.
  4. I just watched Baby Boy last nite and it made me remember how much i love this cat. Ever since 1996 when he waz on that Coca-Cola commercial just singing the jingle while getting on the bus, i waz like "this guy has skillz." So when his single "Nobody Else" dropped in the summer of 1998, i waz hooked. With each album, he grows in2 a true R-N-B talent and speaks the mind of young guys like me. I waz just wondering who else here like Tyrese. His biggest singles are Nobody Else, Sweet Lady, Lately, Just A Baby Boy, I Like Them Girls, and How You Gonna Act Like That. Also, on a related note, i think some of u might like the movie Baby Boy. It's a John Singleton film (Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, Higher Learning). John Singleton said that he started writing this movie with 2Pac in mind, saying he waz the only one who could play the character Jody. He pitched the idea to 2Pac and about 2 weeks later he waz killed...so he shelved the project. Fast forward a few years he starts thinkin' about the movie and finds out that Tyrese has the skillz 2 pull it off. In Jody's room, there's a very cool 2Pac mural that gets alot of attention while "Hail Mary" is playing. Just like with 2Pac in Juice, Tyrese comes outta no where with this acting and nails the role which impressed me. While this is one of those very good hood flicks, the theme will definitly have characters that reach out 2 all people who watch it. As i waz watching it, i pulled alot of things out of it that are going on in my life right now and stuff from when i waz runnin' around the "my hood away from home" as a younger kid. Snoop Dogg also plays this evil character 2 a tee. If u like movies like this...check it out, i feel stupid for waiting nearly 4 years 2 watch it. Whoever has seen this movie, let me know what u think.
  5. Ahhh, u are right. I guess i got so wrapped up in hearing about it that i didn't read it correctly. Jermaine Durpri tends 2 bring the people he's cool with in2 stuff like that tho.' I wouldn't be surprised if Janet, Usher, TLC, Run, Da Brat, and so on ended up being a part of the song.
  6. I hate country music with a passion, and other than E.I., Ride Wit Me, Number 1, and Dillemma, i think Nelly is one of the worse rappers ever. However, i gotta say i love this song. Nelly dosen't have his crybaby rhyme style, vulgar and pointless flow, disposable production, and slutty/flashying music videos goin' on here. Nelly ain't no singer, but this song is just raw and the song totally takes me 2 a place that i can relate. I also think the twisted collabo between the 2 artists is a very cool thing. The music video is great 2, the way they compare 2 different lifestyles side by side on a TV screen, ultamatlly showing that we are all the same, no matter where we come from. Praise it or trash it, i just wanna know what u all think.
  7. How many times do i have 2 tell ya'll. I GOT DA HOOK UP!! I have access 2 quite a few copies of the "Freakin' It" imports that have "Holla Back" on it. They are all brand new and sealed. Ask peeps on this board, i've hooked a few people on this board up. Usually imports go for about $10 (sometimes more, sometimes less) here in the US. Well, if u live in the US, i can hook u up 4 that much and it also covers the shipping and handling. For those of u overseas, i'd only tack on an extra $2 to even out the shipping. It's getting rarer as the years roll by and it's out of print. So if u want it, hit me up soon.
  8. MS. JADE feat. TIMBALAND - Big Head I love this joint from 2002. Just the thougth of the title cracks me up.
  9. I hopefull i can't remember a year where it hasn't been shown on some channel over here My mistake, just check your listings i guess.
  10. Yeah, back in 1994, a bunch of NBA stars did an album with Hip-Hop artists and producers. I never listen 2 the album, but i think i remember Warren G, Ill Al Scratch on it. Jazzy Jeff isn't on the album, but if u find the mega-rare 12" single of "Check It," u can hear the remix Jeff did 4 him. It's great, very Code Red sounding and reminiscent of "Just Kickin' It."
  11. I think it's a toss up 4 me personally. I think Kanye is overrated as both a producer an emcee. Don't get me wrong, i like alot of his stuff, but some cats are worshiping this guy. I prefer The Neptunes only cuz i'm more familiar with their stuff...the good and the less than good.
  12. Welcome 2 the board!! It's good 2 see new people poppin' in...especially those who say FP is their favorite emcee!! Stick around, we need more people here holding it down for JJ+FP.
  13. I think the movie Jersey Girl waz very average...but i'm also not usually a fan of that kinda movie either...or Ben Affleck 2 say that much. The movie isn't bad at all tho' i think it falls flat a few times when it tries 2 tug at your emotions...but there is a time or 2 when u gotta hold back a tear. FP has just under 10 minutes of screen time, but it's the scene that he's in that makes the whole movie come 2gether. He plays himself and drops some Legend of Bagger Vance knowledge at the end of his scene. It's kinda funny tho' cuz he's mentioned the whole way thru' the movie. Definitly check it out.
  14. Da 'Prince has been golfing for over 10 years!! And yes, i waz refuring 2 Eminem's album in my post earlier. I've never heard that song by him and Jay-Z tho'...but i'm not a fan of either of them.
  15. FP: I've heard of laying your coat down so a female can walk over a puddle...but this is rediculous. JADA: (starts up car)
  16. The Big Willie Style snippets that Tim is talking about are on the Australian "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" CD single. By hearing it, u can hear Jazzy Jeff's scratches that were turned down and/or taken off of the original versions and u can hear FP's adlibs that were taken off and lyrics that were taken off due 2 copyright reasons (kinda like "And we're gonna party like it's 1999" on the album version of "Will 2K."). I wish FP would sell a raw and uncut of Big Willie Style with all the original ingredients. He could also cut out "Men In Black" and throw on those Warren G trax and "Keep It Real" with Jazzy Jeff.
  17. DIANA ROSS + THE SUPREMES - Someday We'll Be Together Don't front on oldies but goodie!! Yo Brakes, if u are hyped for Omarion's solo album, u should check out O'Ryan's album in the meantime. His style is similar and the album is very good. It's just straight forward smooth R-N-B. I think i remember u likeing Immature/Imx...if u do, O'Ryan's album is right up that lane. If u wanna get a good taste of it, check his 1st single "Take It Slow."
  18. I think that The Neptunes have alot of edgie and fresh ideas that will never really go stale. They aren't like Eminem where all their beats some similar. The Neptunes do a have a style, so some of their trax have similar sounds, but they bring new flava all the time. They are also down 2 earth guys. I agree that they should work 2gether with FP. One thing that makes anything artistic work, is chemistry. Chemistry is unexplainable and can't be forced...but friendship is the 1st step. So getting music sent 2 u from someone u don't know won't have the magic that a song would have where the people creating it get 2gether.
  19. Yeah, i can't stand the way people label things so much.
  20. Yeah, i own all that, that's why i listed my collection at the bottom. I figured that way it'll guide people looking for some of these trax. I gotta send out a 'thanx' out 2 Tim and a few other people here who have helped me find stuff. U can find "Holla Back" on various import (non-US) versions of the "Freakin' It" single. They really aren't that hard 2 find on the internet. I can also hook a few people up. I can get my hands on a few copies of this single still sealed with in the next 2 months. If any one wants "Holla Back", i can hook people up for a price of $10 to $12. "Nothing On My Mind" is on some import versions of "Born To Reign."
  21. This one looks like he just wacked "Encore" outta this world. FP helps save Hip-Hop!!
  22. Ahhh, those new ones are fly!! I had no idea someone in golf gear could look so smooth.
  23. I'm still breathless that u would sell those albums.
