  1. At $6.99, this is a steal!! This is one of the best groups Hip-Hop ever had...if not THE best. For those of u interested, this is the chance 2 take up on getting a good taste of them at a really good price (and totally remastered). When u listen 2 an Eric B. + Rakim album, it has u saying stuff like "oh, that's where that rapper stole that line from" or "hey, this artists jacked this beat 4 themselves." For the serious Hip-Hop heads only.
  2. It's not workin' 4 me...what is/waz there? :dunno:
  3. Exactly...that's one of the best R-N-B songs of the 90's. They skipped over really big songs like Carl Thomas' "I Wish." Look at the tracklisting, it's pretty pathetic compared 2 what they had 2 work with. The real gem on it is Jodeci's "Come And Talk To Me" remix which is so hard 2 find...and very expensive when u do find it. Still a good album if u like that stuff. The DVD dosen't have anything that wazn't on TV a few years ago, but still a nice touch. U think they could have put the music video 4 each song on the album on it tho.' Anways, back on topic. BOYZ II MEN - Can't Let Her Go (Cutee B Remix) This is really smooth remix off the 1998 minor hit they had off some import single.
  4. I've known Jamie Foxx had skillz 4 over 10 years. Back in 2004 he released his 1st solo album called Peep This. I never got it but really wanted 2. It's very rare these days. He brought this very smooth R-N-B sound. The title track waz amazing. He performed a few times on The Arsenio Hall Show (i have this on tape somewhere). He actually got a lil' bit of radio play but alot of people found it hard 2 accept cuz at that point, they only knew him from In Living Color. I also would like 2 hear a song with the 2 of them on it. Jamie Foxx sang on MC Lyte's song from 2003 "Where Home Is" which is a real nice love song. Maybe the best song on the whole album.
  5. We have 2 remember that in the world of commercial rap, there are 2 kinds of props. Shout outs and positive words (which are rare these days). And hating...which is clearly an immature act of showing love simply cuz they admire the skillz or material possesions of others. So instead of saying something nice, they insult them...but it's easy 2 read in2.
  6. Eric B. + Rakim are personification of real Hip-Hop. Their sound wazn't commercial yet wazn't underground. Heavy in DJ's skills and heavy in quality production. Not 2 mention Rakim being the best emcee of all time. FP himself said in an interview that Rakim is the only cat he'd never try 2 battle. Anyways, most Hip-Hop heads know of what they are 2 Hip-Hop, but 4 those of u who don't and love old skool, check out their "Best of..." collection put 2gether thru' 20th Century Masters. The sound is crystal clear and mastered for the 2000's. While it's only 11 trax deep (and missing one of my personal favs, "Me Melody"), it'll give u a taste of their work 2gether from the mid-80's thru' the early 90's. I only bring this up cuz, 4 those of u in the US, and want this album or would be interested in it, it's on sale at CIRCUIT CITY for only $6.99 this week.
  7. E! had a special on Jamie Foxx's career and as they approached 'Ray,' they said FP waz a big inspiration 4 how seriously Jamie took the roll. FP took Jamie aside and said he needed 2 quit hanging out late and partying so much and start concentrating hard on the roll, which lead 2 him studying every possible thing he could, just like FP did for ALI. FP told him not 2 blow this chance of a lifetime. While they spent 15 seconds (give or take) about FP, they showed some recent clips of him performing LIVE. I'm sure they were from some of those recent JJ+FP shows. I'm sure E! will re-run it sometime soon...so check 4 it.
  8. I have yet 2 catch it. Most of the trax on there sound good tho.' I waz just listening 2 "What They Do" yesterday. It's my favorite song by The Roots. Speech is another one of my favorite artists.
  9. FAITH + PUFFY - All Night Long THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G + R. KELLY - Loving You Tonight I'm got Bad Boy's R&B Hits CD/DVD 2day. I've never been a big fan of Bad Boy stuff but they do have a bulk of stuff i really like so i had 2 pick this up. It's amazing how they put 2gether and R&B Hits disc and none of the trax on it really belong on it. What about all the trax by Carl Thomas, Faith, 112, Mario Winans, and Total?!?! They skipped over all that stuff 2 fill it with trax featuring Mase, Biggie, Puffy that featured R-N-B artists on them. They didn't even put the best songs, they put on the minor hits. The only track that truly fit waz Faith + Carl Thomas' "Can't Believe" but they put on a version featuring a rap by Shyne who i think think has zero talent. I'm amazed just how igornant the people at Bad Boy are.
  10. Yeah, Da 'Prince and Jamie Foxx have been good friends since b4 the Big Willie Style era.
  11. :dunno: I don't think this is anything new. I totally agree with what Freddie Foxx said tho.' U have millions of starving actors with skillz just trying 2 get that big break. But people casting these movie will cast some trendy rapper in the spot who has very few, if any skillz in acting (much less music!). FP, LL, Latifah, 2Pac, Ice Cube, and so on actually work on their craft and take acting seriously. They deserve the success they get...but when u see Ludacris in a movie...is he really doing it 4 the art or is he doing it 4 the money and Hollywood fame. If u are doing something strictly 4 the money, it shows cuz your art will suck. FP dosen't do it 4 the money and he always puts out good stuff. Most of the rappers in the top 10 do it just 4 the money, which shows cuz their music isn't any good.
  12. Is FP going bald?!?! Dose G-Unit make good music?!? I, myself think FP is going 2 grow a Mullet.
  13. And i'll add that "Buggin'" is ill. I didn't notice that Jay-Z wrote it, but that waz b4 i thought he waz wack. Everybody should give that Bug Bunny + Looney Tunes "Buggin'" track a listen. It's dope and really silly.
  14. 50 years from now, nobody will look back on this era of Hip-Hop and remember much. Maybe Black Eyed Peas and OutKast. People like 50 Cent may be hot now...but their music and careers are disposable and everything will be 4gotten. Nobody's gonna look back at people like him like Rakim, Public Enemy, 2pac and so on.
  15. ERIC B. + RAKIM - Paid In Full (the delux edition)
  16. FP isn't going bald. He has just grown up. He's no longer the skinny, goofy kid he waz. The high-top Philly fade has been modefied. Nothing more 2 it than that.
  17. Yeah, that stuff is no secret. It sad 2 see a pioneers creative juices go dry.
  18. 1/6 to scale custom-made Will Smith head!! JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED!! :scared2:
  19. FP intended 2 get this album out, he just isn't focused on it anymore...at least not right now. He'll do it when he's ready. kbfprince, what's the deal with your avatar?!?
  20. Back in 2000, Dr. Dre made the comment that Willennium waz the worst Hip-Hop album out at the moment. I didn't hear it or read it, but someone else did and posted it. He waz either piggy-backing off all the hype Eminem caused with his line in "Real Slim Shady," or like Eminem, waz offended by FP's speech at the MTV Award show where he waz stressing that he always stayed true 2 himself and didn't need 2 kill nobody in his music 2 get where he is. If u are a loser like Eminem and get offended by a comment like that and take it personal 2 the point that u react 2 it, it clearly shows u are not being true 2 yourself. Only someone no confident in themseles and their music would act like that. What a punk.
  21. I like that idea. I like also think it would be hilarous if Slick Rick played the old lady in the song by slightly changing his voice!!
