  1. Yeah, i think he needed 2 open the show with Jazzy. It would have only made sense. I like the end where FP + Jada were pretending 2 hate hosting the show. FP waz like "I keep a choke stash right here!"...ha ha. What happened 2 Lauryn Hill performing at the end of the show?!?! They kept talking about it and talking about it, then they just had Stevie Wonder playing "Happy Birthday To You" with FP + Jada doing back up dancing.
  2. Vivian Green's new album "Vivian" dropped 2day. Most of u will know her from her hit single "Emotional Rollercoaster" from the fall of 2003. She's an amazing neo-soul artist who had alot of Philly Soul legends on her album, including Eric Roberson (Erro) from The Magnificent. Well, this album, whild a lil' more commerical as moments, is a healthy source of good R-N-B/soul music. Her voice is like water...it's just waters your soul. Anthony Bell or A Touch of Jazz produced the track "Frustrated." It's a really nice acoustic/soul kinda song. However, he may no longer be with ATOJ becuz the company isn't mentioned in the credits. Musical legend James Poyser (the drummer on "I Wanna Rock") is all over the album. Larry Gold also dose work on the album. If u love neo-soul and the Philly soul sound, get this album. This is right up there with the R-N-B stuff on The Magnificent, Jill Scott, Musiq, Kenny Lattimore, Raheem, etc. The album is on sale at Circuit City for $9.99 thru' Saturday.
  3. ...on a random note, let me say this. I dont' care how much Omarion + Ciara dance when they perform, those pre-recorded live vocals are WACK. People tune in 2 see u perform live...not dance 2 your own songs and occasionally move your lips.
  4. Oh yeah, since people aren't really posting all the FP moments, let me discribe the 1st part i saw with him. He waz sitting on this chair summing up what happened so far during the show. Jada came out and started watching him run his mouth. He then jokingly complained that Beyonce waz giving lab dances back stage and that he didn't get one. Jada said that FP waz the best at giving them as she took the seat and FP went in 2 a rediculous lap dance, which waz hilarious. During this bit, some guy in the balcony started dissing FP. FP waz like "u didn't see ALI, did u?" He also joked b4 all this started, that how alot of white people were working backstage, which is why the show started on time. That cracked me up. Also, after one of the commerical breaks, they had a mock interview with FP and Jada. The interviewer asked "Why don't you put Jada in your movies" and he replied "i put her in ALI." Jada lashed out "you didn't put me in ALI, Michael Mann did!" Then FP said "I offered you to do Bagger Vance" and she rolled her eyes" and he waz like "well, u did Woo" and Jada yells "well, u did Wild Wild West!" It waz hilarious. FP waz like "Maybe we should stop doing movies with W's in them" and then said something like "cuz they w®eally w®eally don't work."
  5. I missed the 1st half of this cuz i waz at work (u better believe i'll catch the reruns). Did y'all just catch The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion?!?!? For a moment, here in 2005, just over 9 years after the show ended, Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, Carlton, Hilary, Ashley, and lil' Willie from Philly took the stage 2 present the Best Male Athlete award. That waz crazy...i know there will be pix of this up soon. After the award waz presented 2 Shaq (who wazn't there), FP stressed how that focusing on family dosen't include JUST your relatives.
  6. Yo, i gotta say i'm crAzY hyped about the movie Four Brothers. 4 those of u who haven't seen the trailor 4 this movie. It's about 4 guys who were adopted by a woman, and raised in a very 'hood enviornment. Their mother is killed in a mom 'n pops spot (owned by her i believe) and they bond 2gether 2 see if they can track down the killer. It features Marky Mark, Tyrese, Andre (from OutKast) and some other guy. The movie looks intense. Check 4 the trailor. I think the movie hits theaters August 12th. If u've seen the trailor, let me know if u are hyped as much as i am.

  8. I'm with u on that. People always wanna label and categorize stuff.
  9. I don't put music on my computer...sorry. I did send Tim a CD that has Smooth's trax "Jeepz 'N' Benzos" and "Summertime (Let It Get Into You) (UK Flavour Remix)...both trax sample "Summertime." Hopefully he'll stream them sometime soon.
  10. Lord, i'll just keep my mouth shut on this one.

  14. Very cool!! I love this article. I can't wait 2 see what he has 2 say. Hopefully this will drive people 2 pick up the new album...which could change the game.
  15. As of right now, me and my friends don't have 2 many plans. Some of us were gonna go 2 Live 8 in Philly but i desided that basically the ONLY reason i waz gonna go waz 2 see JJ+FP and that since it seemed so unorganized and since they might only do one of those 15 minute medleys, i figured i'd hold out until they tour in a few months. Instead, we are gonna see fireworks at one of the battlefeilds. We have a huge group coming. We might watch ID4...but JJ+FP will be being played all weekend, that's 4 sure.
  16. FRESH PRINCE + ROBIN THICKE - Switch (RnB Remix)
  17. The Chronic is a dope Hip-Hop album....but it opened the door 4 all these wanna-be'z that just took the gun and weed talk and based their entire albums off it. After The Chronic, everybody waz gangsta. It's not really Dr. Dre's fault...but that's the way things panned out.
  18. Listening 2 music on the computer is wack...period. I NEVER listen 2 music on the computer. U can miss so much from a song that way. The few L+F songs i heard on the computer didn't have half the impact they did until the CD dropped and i heard it in my car.
  19. DE LA SOUL - Stakes Is High (DJ Spinna Remix)
  20. Yeah, the article did shed some light on a strange situation. I think that Hip-Hop/Rap is so commercially gone, that this is no surprise. Back in the 90's...when phoney gangsta rap got really outta hand (somewhere around '94/'95), from my point of view, that's when the "white audience" got really active, of course the "black audience" was feeling it 2, but i believe that where the white audidence really bought in 2 Rap. While Hip-Hop has had it's monets, i think most of us agree that commercially it's been on a downward spiral until we got 2 where we are now....where maybe 1 or 2 legit Hip-Hop artists find extreem commercial success each year. Only the dime-a-dozen, untalented people like G-Unit, D12, and so on are getting airplay. The main audience 4 rap puts that stuff on the charts. When it comes 2 those non-commerical acts, like the ones they are talking about in the article, i think typically, white people will go 2 anyshow that is in there area if the price is reasonable. I agree that it LOOKS as if the black audience isn't stimulated by politically driven Hip-Hop anymore...and alot of that is probably very true. Anybody who will vote 4 a song like "How We Do" or "Disco Inferno" obvoiusly dosen't require much 2 stimulate their mind when it comes 2 music. I can't wait 4 a change....cuz it's sad trying 2 talk about music and most of my friends can only talk about decent music when i burn them a mixtape of stuff NOT on the radio.
  21. Joe, how can u think Suge had something 2 do with Biggie's murder and not 2Pac's. I think his involvment in Biggie's murder is more of a stretch than 2Pac's. 2Pac wanted leave Deathrow records. He only signed 2 the label so that Suge would get him outta jail. After he saw how corrupt the whole scene waz, he recorded alot of music that waz just filler-material...at least compared 2 his real music (which is why there waz so much material left over). 2Pac waz trying 2 fulfill his contract and get off the label. Suge knew that, which is why i think he had something 2 do with 'Pac's murder. Suge never respected 2Pac's legacy and never helped out his family after the murder. Suge only paid 2Pac with chump change and then gave him cars that were in Suge's name. 2Pac wazn't happy on Deathrow, it waz obvious in his "on record personality" and even in interviews. Let's keep in mind that Suge is the same guy that threatened 2 throw Vanilla Ice off a balcony if didn't sign papers saying that one of Suge's people co-wrote "Ice Ice Baby." Suge also threatened half the artists on his label at one point or another. He also kicked the guy who started the company out of the pictuter when "The Chronic" started blowing up. Suge is just a nasty, evil person no matter how u look at it.
