  1. I think every track Alicia Keys has produced has been good...and usually amazing. Kanye has produced a few stand out trax, but overall i don't think he can even touch Alicia Keys.
  2. Let me put it this way...so as 2 not confuse anyone. I think it's imporant 2 do a party track here and there. I also want the comedy 2 stay in his music...that's what made me a HUGE fan in the 1st place. The serious stuff is also important tho.' I really don't care for songs like "Freakin' It" at all. But stuff like "Switch" and "If U Can't Dance (Slide)" are dope. I never want him 2 stop making trax like that. But i do want a consistent flow of trax like The Rain as well.
  3. I remember back in the mid-90's, i like alot of their songs. My friend got their album but i haven't listened 2 them in ages.
  4. Heavy D has a new album coming out sometime kinda soon. I'm looking 4ward 2 that. Black Eyed Peas keep things pretty tasteful. LL Cool J's more recent stuff is free from explict stuff. Nick Cannon keeps things clean. Bow Wow has kept his stuff clean even tho' he's growing up. Again, Mase has no real skills on the mic, but i do respect the clean lyrics. Vipa, where did u hear he waz going back 2 his Murda Mase persona? He wazn't even Murda Mase when he 1st signed with Bad Boy. Murda Mase waz his thing b4 he signed to Bad Boy...then he went pop, then he retired, then he came back clean.
  5. I really don't want him 2 go one way or the other. There are moments when i wanna get jiggy wit it...and their are days when i need trax that'll help me get thru' the rain. Albums like Big Willie Style were way 2 easy for him...and Lost + Found comes across a bit forced at times. I want something in between. But it's important that each album is different...but not drastically different. FP knows what he's doing.
  6. I agree that it should have been a single/video. The song is amazing. But getting mad that it wazn't released is kinda stupid.
  7. FRESH PRINCE + DJ KOOL - Coming To The Stage
  8. Well, here's an update. We wrapped the show. About 7 minutes in2 it, we had 2 stop the show cuz of the weather. We were performing in an amphitheater (a theater outside). So, we invited the audience up 2 the regular theater. We did the show with NO SET and no body mics (which means we had 2 sing very loud 2 over power the band). However, the feedback waz great. People seemed 2 really enjoy it. And after a scene or 2, i think they 4got that we had no set...ha ha. I got TONS of props which felt good. The actress playing Cinderella made it thru' the show. She went 2 the hospital last nite and they said she had a "crushed foot" which would end up with really bad bruising. She is on crutches, but nothing is broken and she did the show without crutches. While most of us are disappointed that we didn't get 2 do the show in the amphitheater. It kept us and the audience safe from the crazy lighting and the down pour that later came. The show rocked and LeAnne/Cinderella is alright. So overall, things ended up good.
  9. There is no way 2 call anybody a future legend. 2 be a legend, u have 2 have staying power and a library of work that is 4 the most part, flawless and consistant (no selling out and totally flipping your style). Rap is full of disposable artists who are here one day and gone the next. I don't see ANYBODY who released their 1st album in the last 5 years or so 2 be considered as a legend on the long run. Think about it, can u really see anybody like Puffy, Kanye, Ludacris, Nelly, 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil' Jon, or T.I. to someone like Run-DMC, JJ+FP, Public Enemy, MC Lyte, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Hammer, Wu-Tang Clan, N.W.A., 2Pac, etc?
  10. Oh lawd...this has got 2 be one of the silliest posts ever. Mase has no flow and his lyrics have no fire 2 them. His newer stuff is better than his old, but he'll never even be and average rapper in my opinion. I totally respect the way he flipped the script and cleaned up his lyrics tho'.
  11. This sounds really good...and really refreshing. Hip-Hop/Rap gets NO positive shine these days...other than Da' Prince. Along with Black Eyed Peas, LL Cool J, + Nick Cannon. This show definitly looks like it'll be entertaining AND a breath of FRESH air 4 Hip-Hop.
  12. I don't even think Eminem needs 2 produce...cuz he isn't very good at it. "Runnin'" and "Ghetto Gospel" came out pretty good....but when u hear the stuff on his recent albums and 2Pac's "Loyal To The Game" album, it bring tears 2 my eyes cuz it's so bad.
  13. It's no big deal that FP waz there. After all, his wife waz performing. His style or taste isn't gonna change cuz of going 2 Ozzfest. Let's not 2 silly.
  14. This weekend my show is going on. Of course this is nothing serious. But if i could get some support 4 me and the cast 2 keep the show tight, that would be great. We did a good show 2nite but there is room for improvement. On a more serious not, the girl playing Cinderella broke her foot when the cow prop fell on her. So the last half of the show had Cinderella sitting on the floor or in a chair. I think it's be nice if some prayers were sent out 2 her in hopes of speedy recovery and no pain in the meantime.
  15. This dosen't effect me at all. Except that now i know there will be a lesser chance of crap like "Just Lose It" and "@$$ Like That" hitting the radio. I like Eminem's early stuff...so 2 me, he's be retired 4 awhile...cuz this last 2 efforts were no where near as good as his 1st 2 mainstream albums.
  16. Man, i could see this coming. I love Shock-G. He's nothing short of a genius. I've been listening 2 him since i waz 10. I would never want someome 2 do something they no longer feel happy doing. I urge everyone 2 check out his solo album and the DU albums. They are one of my top fav groups ever.
  17. That line on "Real Slim Shady" has nothing 2 do with why many of us don't like him. In fact, back then i liked Eminem. I found out about him shortly b4 he blew up and i loved him. His lyrics were crazy. Funny, intellegent, witty, clever. His sound waz dope. He waz totally a breath of fresh air. Then his 2nd album came out. I don't think it waz that bad, but nothin about it could compare 2 "The Slim Shady LP." The beats were good...sometimes over produced...but still good 4 the most part. The lyrics got darker and more serious. At this point, EVERYBODY on a commercial front followed whatever he did. It waz during this era that i got kinda annoyed at how he dissed people and poked fun at situations strictly 2 get attentiong and sell records. By the time The Eminem Show came out...his magic waz totally gone. While he occasionally dose a really good song from time 2 time, all of it is swallowed up by the crap he puts out. Besides, as a person, he's proved 2 have made some bad choices. The problems with his ex-wife, the way he treats his mother, etc. He just makes bad choices and dosen't know how 2 forgive people and let go of the past. He's just turned in 2 this insenstive person who no longer cares about his art. I will praise his early work 4ever...but most of his stuff stuff is trash. 2 think most of us don't like him cuz of "Real Slim Shady" is rediculous.
  18. I haven't heard anything from him in years...and what i did hear, i remember not liking.
  19. I have Kanye's album...i do listen 2 the lyrics. Songs like "All Falls Down" are amazing...but otherwise, he's just an above average artist 2 me. His skillz on the mid are just barely above average. From what i've heard so far, his production is consistently good.
  20. When i waz refurring 2 FACTS...i waz talking about Bad Boys and ID4 being part of FP's career at Nick's age. Neither of those movie were even started at that point. I'm saying that when u put Nick's movies up against FP's 1st 2....Nick has surpassed FP back when he waz at that age. Opinions are opinions. I don't care if anyone likes or dislikes Nick Cannon. I have my tastes and i think he's defintily an asset 2 Hip-Hop. I'm not comparing him 2 FP cuz that would be rediculous. But Nick is taking the path that FP paved which i totally respect. I know some other people's tastes and history when it comes 2 Hip-Hop on this board. Which is why i respect other people's opinions more than others. Not 2 mention the way some people carry themselves.
  21. I can get brand new SEALED copies of that "Freakin' It" CD single featuring "Holla Back." Depending where u live, it would cost about $10 - $13.
