  1. ERYKAH BADU - On & On (Da Boom Squad Remix) Baduizm - Special Edition (2007) About 2 pop in that MJ's Thriller 25 again...
  2. "Summertime" was more than one of the biggests and greatest Hip-Hop singles of all time. It waz JJ+FP coming back after some people thought they couldn't. It waz the haters finally getting a reason 2 shut up. It waz the 1st time people really heard FP's voice mature and lyrics with more substance. It was JJ+FP true growth as artists. Classic. p.s. Where did u hear he had a cold when he recorded it?? I've never heard that...his voice sounds fine.
  3. To really say which song is their best is a crazy thing 2 do but if i had 2, i'd say yes. It is their best. The production is flawless and timeless. The lryics totally capture the essense of the topic. Lyrically, not may songs of any genre can claim 2 be on it's level. It's a classic, simply put.
  4. Yeah, the artists that generally are actually good only show up on the hooks do 2 their most forgetable work. Without them, i don't think his stuff would get the rotation that it does.
  5. Since i don't watch much TV i wazn't effected by this...but i'm glad 2 hear it's over. I actually thought it waz cool 2 see OLD OLD reruns of David Letterman's Late Show.
  6. I give most of his beats a 5 or 6. Decent songs could be made if a dope lyrical emcee took the song 2 a highr level but he rarely works with a respectable artist. If he does they typically give him one of their weaker performances. The second he yells "we the best!!" it reminds me of a 10 year old who is really trying 2 convince people that the music is any good.
  7. Commercial rap. It's all the same. Better than some of it...but overrated and not what i'm in2.
  8. BIG DADDY KANE - I Get The Job Done The Very Best of... (2001)
  9. I wonder if i still have the Born To Ski picture...
  10. I saw this already. When Tatyana popped up i was like "whoa...strange step in making a comeback...but a good one none the less. I was hoping they would release a more musical version of this.
  11. Ugh, life is really pulling on me at the moment. I just don't know how much more heartache and dissappoinment i can take. I don't wanna be a big victim charity case or anything. I'm just looking for love. I have issues with alot of things. Stress at work, dishonesty, cheating, loss. I'm at a point were i'm barely sleeping and eating. I have no energy for anything...even 2 really stop by the board. The storm has been really hard for awhile now. I'm just asking for prayers. Thanks...i miss u guys.
  12. Well, i'm not really a Jay-Z fan...tho' i do like a few of his singles. This definitely isn't a song i care 2 hear again. I'm a HUGE Timbaland fan and i don't even care much for the beat.
  13. Oh man, wait til i have time 2 reply 2 this one...ha ha. I love Hip-Hop Love.
  14. It's hard 2 imagin them not doing well. The show is classic and popular. It in syncdication so heavily that it can't be worse than most of the shows released. It'll come.
  15. The hype behind JJ+FP, even tho' they are only in the pubic every few years in a small way, is a huge underground thing. The time has been right for awhile...let's keep hoping!!
  16. Yeah, as far as i know, the instrumental version was never released. I have the CD single and a rare vinyl single. Neither has an instrumental version...only remixes. After all of the digging i've done over the years i've never seen an instrumental version.
  17. Here's some news i came across on AOL featuring a Hip-Hop legend who needs 2 get his stuff 2gether with the quickness and commerical rap's uglyest idiot. ------------------------------------------------------ It's Probation Time for Busta Rhymes Posted: 2008-01-23 16:43:50 Filed Under: Star Scandals, Music News NEW YORK (Jan. 23) - A Manhattan judge sentenced Busta Rhymes to three years' probation and 10 days of community service Wednesday for assaulting his former driver and a fan. The 35-year-old rapper was also fined $1,250, plus court costs, for driving while intoxicated and with a suspended license. He pleaded guilty to the charges - related to four separate incidents - in Manhattan Criminal Court. Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, must also enroll in a DWI program. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lil Wayne Busted at Border Checkpoint By TERRY TANG, AP Posted: 2008-01-23 17:38:36 Filed Under: Celebrities in Court, Music News PHOENIX (Jan. 23) - Lil Wayne was arrested on three felony drug charges Wednesday after federal agents said they found illegal drugs including cocaine on his charter bus at a checkpoint in southwestern Arizona. Federal agents arrested Lil' Wayne and two other men at a border security checkpoint in southwestern Arizona on Jan. 23 after finding several illegal drugs, including cocaine and 41 grams of Ecstacy, on the rapper's charter bus. Wayne, seen in his mugshot, is out on bail and "looking forward to his day in court," according to his lawyer. The rapper (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was being held at the Yuma County Sheriff's jail on state drug charges, Capt. Eben Bratcher said. Carter appeared via video arraignment late Wednesday morning in a court in Wellton, 35 miles east of Yuma. James Tilson, a local lawyer retained by Carter, said his client was not formally charged and his next court date was scheduled for Jan. 25. "We will find out by Jan. 25 whether or not the (Yuma) county attorney will file charges or not," Tilson said. "He is looking forward to his day in court. That's all I can say right now." His bond was set at $10,185, and he was released from jail about 2 p.m. Wednesday after making bail. The 25-year-old faces charges of possession of dangerous drugs, narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Bratcher said Carter's bus was stopped about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, Ariz., 78 miles east of Yuma. Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Ramona Sanchez said a Border Patrol canine unit alerted agents to the presence of illegal drugs on the bus. Among what a search yielded: nearly four ounces of marijuana, 41 grams of Ecstacy and just over an ounce of cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia. DEA agents then arrested Carter, who was traveling with 11 others. Officials also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter, who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida. Authorities are looking into whether he violated any weapons laws in Arizona. Two other men were arrested with him; they each face a charge of possession of marijuana. In October, Carter and several other rappers were named in a federal lawsuit filed by music publishing companies, accusing them of sampling other artists' songs without paying licensing fees. Rapper Birdman and Lil Wayne won a viewers' choice award for their song "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" at Black Entertainment Television's 2007 Hip-Hop Awards.
  18. I can't say i followed him or knew anything about him. But my prayers go out 2 his family and friends.
  19. Ha..."Geek Love" is awesome. I wish her album actually happened. SNOW - Africa (2007)
  20. There is a certain level of success and celebrity that few entertainers actually get 2. FP is one of the few. And one thing he has in common with everyone else on that level is that they are hard workers who truely appriciate people. They travel the world and love what they do. That's why all these idiot kids in commercial rap fade away so quick. They aren't hard workers, they aren't creative or motivated, and they don't appriciate the people that support them (probably cuz they don't believe in their own product). Let the 'Prince school the vetrans in the movie world who think they know it all wit their little awards.
  21. Forgive me for being harsh, ignorant, or anything like that. But are there any Amy Winehouse fans on this board. Can someone please tell me why people like her. I think her voice is awful and her sound is annoyng. She looks like a man in drag and every week there is video or pictures of her leaked with her doing drugs or with some kinda sign that she just got done doing drugs...or just got trashed? After making your life look like a mistake since your short career has started (at least in the US), why do people still listen 2 her. This has been bugging me since summer. Can anyone help a playa out? If one of the mod's wants 2 delete this becuz i'm being negative, i won't be offended. I just really wanna know why she has fans.
  22. Diddy Changes His Name ... Again Posted Jan 22nd 2008 11:35AM by Tracey Ford Filed under: Hip-Hop, The BoomBox, Hip-Hop News Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, is changing his moniker, yet again. The mogul, formerly known as Puff Daddy then P. Diddy, and then just plain ol' Diddy, is now going by the name Sean John -- which is the the mogul's first and middle names, and the name of the entrepreneur's successful clothing line. Combs better hope his latest name change doesn't cause any confusion. The mogul took on some new ventures last year, including a multi-year, 50/50 profit deal with Ciroc vodka. Combs also released a fragrance dubbed 'Unforgivable.' "I have always evolved and taken a different name each time. Right now I want to be 'Sean John' because that's where I am right now," Combs said in a statement. ------------------------------------------------ Usher's Father Dies in Atlanta Posted Jan 22nd 2008 12:00PM by Tracey Ford Filed under: The BoomBox, R and B News R&B singer Usher's father, Usher Raymond III, died in an Atlanta hospital on Friday. The cause of death is currently unknown. Reports claim that the singer was by his father's bedside before his death. Funeral arrangements have been made and will take place later this week in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Usher and his wife, Tameka, recently celebrated the birth of their first child together on November 26. -------------------------------- My prayers go out 2 Usher. He's had a kinda rough 2007. And doesn't Puffy realize that when u do something a certain amount of times, nobody cares. Does he expect Press Play 2 sell a million copies in the next week cuz of this?!
