FP takes his time and waits for inspiration. He has said stuff like he's not recording...but then follows it up with the big JJ+FP old school tour. That's far from retiring. On top of that, he does mini performances at the most random times (award shows, movie sets) and then goes out rocking "Party Starter" shirts even tho' the album is 3 years old. This is his best retirement yet!...ha ha. L+F is still holding me over even tho' i'm dying for something new.

So many people dislike "I Can't Stop"...ha ha. It's funny because I saw them perform it live a week before the album dropped. I would never say that it's one of his strongest songs, but i don't mind it at all. I think seeing it live, with all of that energy, the dancers, and Jazzy Jeff + Tra-Knox doing their thing, i'll always see the song in a way few people will. Over all, i appriciate the album for the experiment that it served. When u look back at 2002, it waz a weird place for Hip-Hop. U had all the pop rappers like Nelly and Ja-Rule serving up alot of crappy music...then u still had the 'underground' still getting some shine with the moderate attention that Jeff's album got, then u had FP releasing an album with originals "samples" and live instruments...when an R-N-B group backing him. That took alot of boldness and creativity. I don't care that it's not his best album and that i rarely listen 2 it the whole way thru' (other than blistering hot summer days). It served it's purpose. I wish another single followed sooner and that the album got promoted. "1,000 Kisses" waz a great song and video. It waz just 4 or 5 months late...ha ha. I STILL wish the alternate mix they used for the video was available. Thinking back on the time and the music...i just may have 2 pop it in.

Rapper Remy Ma convicted of shooting woman Reuters Posted: 2008-03-27 13:57:26 NEW YORK (Reuters) - Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was convicted of assault, weapons possession and coercion Thursday for shooting a woman in the abdomen in a dispute about money in New York. But the New York State Supreme Court jury also cleared her of charges of gang assault, witness tampering, witness intimidation and assault in a separate incident in which her associates are accused of beating up the boyfriend of a witness. The artist, whose real name is Remy Smith, faces five to 25 years in prison. Prosecutors said Remy Ma shot Makeda Barnes-Joseph in July after a night out in New York, thinking she had taken $3,000 from her purse. Defense attorneys had said the shooting was accidental. Remy Ma was nominated for a 2004 Grammy for her part in Terror Squad's song "Lean Back." Reuters/Nielsen -------------------------------------------- I hope the situation is handled the best way possible. My prayers go out 2 her. I'm glad 2 know we shouldn't have 2 expect any music from her though. The real crime was her being nominated for a Grammy.

I Am Legend - Alternate Never Before Seen Ending
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Will Smith Movies
I actually liked the alternate ending a bit better. Keep in mind i have no knowledge of the book. I just liked the ending being more happy vs. the one that was obviously more hopefull. Why it was still a bit rushed and/or forced, it's pace seemed a bit better 2 me. Maybe this is becuz i had already seen the movie and knew what 2 expect...i don't know. But personally, i like the alternate ending a bit better. -
That's alot of words. My review would be "Lil' Wayne has no talent and all of his songs suck."

Ha ha...Lil' Crappy's career ended a few months after it started. I love how all the dirty south rappers have the most annoying or unoriginal names...Young Joc, Soulja Boy, Lil' Scrappy, Webbie, Baby Boy, Lil' Boosie. Their names are as forgettable and stupid as their songs.

a lot of people all over the world plus mtv's list of the top mc's in the game when you look at the rsponse to the list everyone everywhere agreed MTV doesn't know anything about music anymore...and people who only listen 2 commercial rap don't know anything about Hip-Hop. I was just wondering if anyone in the Hip-Hop community who is an official Hip-Hop head actually likes, respect, tolerates, and doesn't have the desire 2 kill him actually likes him.

LL Cool J interview with Westwood
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, i don't know what he want 2 work with common fools like Jim Jones. I like his attitude 2 keep on moving in the midst of the waterfall of garbage...but at the same time, i wish there was something 2 do 2 change it. -
CHILLI - Glidin' (forthcoming solo album?) (2006?) Not as good as "Game Proof" but good 2 hear Chilli still at work.

New Busta Rhymes track "Lights, Camera, Action"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, i like this alot! I love TR's 80's and 90's stuff...and the more recent R-N-B stuff but i love that emcees are going 2 him. His beats on Snoop's album aren't his best, but it's just good 2 know he's active after it looked like he waz gonna quit for awhile. It's a good comeback for both of them. -
Who says that?

Looks like Busta may be getting his act 2gether. Let's hope so... ------------------------------------------------- Busta Rhymes Gets 3 Years' Probation By SAMUEL MAULL, AP Posted: 2008-03-18 14:23:16 Filed Under: Celebrities in Court, Star Scandals, Music News NEW YORK (March 18) - A judge sentenced Busta Rhymes to three years' probation Tuesday for assaulting his former driver and a fan, and warned the rapper to stay out of trouble. The 35-year-old Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was also ordered to perform 10 days of community service; pay a $1,250 fine, plus court costs; and enroll in a drunken driving program. After the sentencing, Rhymes said the terms of the plea deal won't be a problem. "I have no trouble being a good dude because that's what I am," he said. Scott Leemon, Rhymes' lawyer, said a private agency called Rock Corp. will work out the community service program. He said he doesn't know yet what it will be. He also said Rhymes has paid most of the fines and surcharges he owed. Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephen put Rhymes on notice that he must abide by the conditions of his probation. "If you mess up, you're going to jail," he said. "I've given you a chance." Rhymes said after the sentencing, "I couldn't feel better, and this couldn't have happened at a better time. I thank the judge for giving me a chance and I thank everybody for being supportive." The rapper said he wanted to get back to "having fun, making music, running around and showing love." Rhymes pleaded guilty in January on the day he was set to go to trial on the assault and driving offenses related to four separate incidents. At that time, Stephen revoked Rhymes' driver's license for six months and signed an order of protection directing him to stay away from his former driver. Known for eye-catching outfits and an antic performance style, Rhymes was dressed at his court appearance in a conservative gray suit and lavender pocket square, a lavender shirt, and a gray-and-lavender floral patterned tie. His hits include "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See," "Dangerous" and "Touch It." He also has appeared in movies, including "Shaft" and "Finding Forrester."

Cool...looking forward 2 this. It's still kinda weird for them 2 do an alternate version so close 2 the one they did recently.

By the way, the funny post smiley was meant 2 be pointing at Turntables comment. I made the post yesterday and for some reason it just popped up 2day.

So-called "gangsta" rappers target FP cuz he is an easy target. The reason he's called the 'Prince is because he has self-control and he has class. He isn't gonna cuss, he isn't gonna talk negative about somebody, he's not gonna lyrically murder somebody in his music. So these jealous idiots attack him because he's an easy target and he isn't gonna give much of a push back 2 them. They're nothing but immature, jealous cowards 2 me. Dre isn't a gangsta. He doesn't portray the lifestyle he puts in his music. He dumbs down his music and surrounds himself with dumb people. Gangsta rap doesn't really exist anymore. It hasn't for awhile. I quickly died away after the murders of 2Pac and Biggie cuz all of a sudden, it wasn't cool 2 talk about guns and violence. Since then, we went thru' the jiggy era (which some rappers are still in...talking about material things...and sometimes about guns). Then we dipped in2 the dirty south era which we are still in. Not only does this era continue the trend of stupid and fake subject matter, but u can't even understand the words that are being said now. On top of that, the production has gotten to a childish embarassing level.
-
He's been working out...that's all i'm saying. Other than Dre's Chonic days, he's best year was 96 when he was saying how gangsta rap was fake and just for entertainment. He said it was dead. He said he was gonna be making real Hip-Hop and doing records with no cussing in them. Then he flipped it and sold out, being lazy and predictable. Every once in awhile he does a song that'll let u know he does have something 2 offer, he just doesn't care anymore about being a real artist.
