  1. Yeah, but they can mess u up and ruin your life just like drugs and alcohol...ha ha.
  2. I don't think it would be good 2 put them out there in a big way. If he was 2 ever release old unreleased stuff, i think it should only be done exclusively for fans. We live in a age where pretty much anything can be released (even tho' most things never released never see the light of day). I don't think any of us want JJ+FP's image tarnished by tracks being released that they never felt were good enough to release. It would just water down their legacy. Look at 2Pac. He is one of Hip-Hop's greatests. However, they are slowly releasing EVERYTHING. He recorded so many songs while on Deathrow cuz he wanted 2 fulfill his album contract and get off the label. Much of the stuff that he recorded in 1996 is sloppy freestyles with weak subject matter and little focus. Any true 2Pac fan will tell u that alot of the stuff on his doctored albums is no where near the level of standard that he would hold. 2 make things worse, they doctor those songs with idiotic guest appearances and new, crappy production. It's tarnishing 2Pac's legacy. FP has been very open about how he doesn't let just anyone be around him while he's creating music and how he doesn't let just anyone hear what he's recorded. He has talked about not letting people hear his "weak stuff." I'm all for unreleased stuff being released properly, but not just releasing everything reqardless of the quality. We as big fans would probably appriciate most of it anyway, but it shouldn't be released as if it were his best and available to everyone.
  3. I got Rock The House on cassette. I don't think i actually got it until 1991. When i did, i'm pretty sure i remember getting it when it was marked down REALLY cheap. I think most cassettes when for $12 at the time unless they were brand new. I got Rock The House for probably $6 or so. I didn't get it on CD until 1998 at a regular CD price. I then got a Japan pressing of it that was released in 1997 and had the "Girls..." Instrumental as a bonus track. I think i got it in 1999 for the price of a regular import from Japan. It wasn't until 2003 that i realized that Rock The House was going for so much online. The few people who wanna part with their's realize that it's a rare collectable. I don't know why they don't just print more like they did back in 1997/1998.
  4. Hmmmm....i'm wondering if it's really limited 2 once a day. I voted yesterday around 1 in the afternoon. Then i voted at 1 in the morning last night. Now it's 9:40 in the morning and it let me vote again.
  5. Wow!! I haven't listened 2 "Ask of You" in a looooong time. What a great song. I think i have it...and i think i'm going 2 find out. DJ JAZZY JEFF + FRESH PRINCE - Ring My Bell (DJ Jazzy Jeff's Radio Remix) Ring My Bell (CD Single) (1991)
  6. AOL did a "Top Black Superheroes" feature...Hancock is number 7. Check it. I'm hoping this link will work for every one. http://www.blackvoices.com/blogs/2008/06/3...imDBDL3_link1-a
  7. FP likes 2 change his mind...at least when talking 2 the press. We all know he has music on his mind and enjoys it more than the acting. It just takes timing the constant support from music fans and true fans of the man himself who appriciate his music.
  8. R we all voting everyday??? Just a reminder. We gotta make this happen and pull 2gether like never b4. I know he's the best...u know he's the best...but without dedication from all of us, we could end up disappointed with the outcome. VOTE!!
  9. SILK - I Gave To You Lose Control (1992) Holy crap! I grew up on this album and haven't listened 2 it in ages...but the melodies and many of the lyrics are still rolling off the top of my tongue. What a classic R-N-B album!!
  10. I can't say i understand what Jay-Z is saying here. Is just just saying that Eric B. + Rakim were on a different tip from JJ+FP or was he saying Eric B. + Rakim were intellegent, well respected true Hip-Hop and that JJ+FP was fluffy, pointless, pop garbage? I've never had a huge amount for Jay-Z so i could care less, but i think he needs 2 think b4 he speaks, becuz reguardless of what his point is, it's not clear.
  11. Busta Rhymes will do well wherever he goes. Becuz he's a true Hip-Hop staple who can still get legit commerical success; i think that's why he's signing 2 big labels. Think about it, there aren't any Hip-Hop superstars like their used 2 be in the 80's and 90's. The main reason is cuz most of the commercial Rap that gets play is rubbish. But if there was going to be a true Hip-Hop superstar, they would most likely be signed 2 a big label. I'm not saying i agree with the politics. I'm just saying that that's what could be his reasoning behind it.
  12. CHRISTINA MILIAN - You Make Me Laugh (self-titled) (Import) (2002)
  13. Very cool of him. I don't think anyone here is bitter about him not posting. I think we all know he's busy and that he's got love for us.
  14. ...possibly the dumbest thing ever said on the board. Congratz!!
  15. "Just Cruisin'" is the song that i think FP was specifically talking about but he could have been talking about all of the ones they worked on 2gether. Everyone used 2 say that Jay-Z or Nas co-wrote "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" but i've never agreed with that. The song is too simple and silly to have a co-writer. Then again, both of them only talked about being flashy back then. If either of them worked on the song, why wouldn't they have hopped on that So So Def Remix that features new lyrics and cameos?!
  16. D'Angelo just released a "Best of...So Far" album incase u cared. THE PHARCYDE - Y? (Remix Instrumental) Jay Dee: The Delicious Vinyl Years 95-98: Originals, Remixes, & Rarities (1995/2007)
  17. Uhhh...what does the interracial thing have 2 do with anything?!?
  18. Yeah, Jive got paid...why would they start paying JJ+FP tho.' They barely did it when they were on the label...why start now?? I must say that it's kinda akward 2 hear the song on a Wal-Mart commercial tho'...just feels weird.
  19. Even tho' i think the movie is average, i think all of the performances were great. As an actor, i know how u have 2 make the most of what u are given in a script.
  20. I hate prequels...i really do. They should have told the orgin story in this one. Orgin stories are what make superhero movies good.
  21. This isn't any news 2 be shouting about...but i just thought i'd share. It's 1 in the morning and i'm watching some Tatyana Ali movie about a salon and during a commerical break, the "Summertime" instrumental comes on. Strange as i found it, it was a Wal-Mart commercial with alot of bar-b-q/picnic footage. For a really short bit they even have FP's vocals playing.
  22. I already voted...i trust everyone will take a minute out of their day 2 do this.
  23. Let me be incredibly close-minded right now...Superman has 2 have white skin, blue eyes, and black hair...ha ha. Any other race, any other hair color, any other eye color just won't work. Unless u wanna bastardize the whole thing which would have fans like me unhappy. I liked Superman Returns alot. I think Brandon Roth did a great job. I think the fact that his voice and looks were very much like Christopher Reeve's were a big part of making that movie work. The fact that he looked like the character AND the actor who is best known for playing the character was a great combination. Becuz i didn't watch the Wild Wild West TV show, i didn't care about the 'Prince in that character. I'm not sure if i would have if i did. I am one of those people who actually like the WWW movie. Some characters are open for change and some are just locked in2 their foundation. Superman has been the same way since the 1930's. It's dangerous 2 mess with that. Me not wanting FP playing Superman isn't really about race, it's about EVERYTHING. Even tho' everyone other than me on the planet hated Catwoman, i thought it was cool that Halle Barry played the character and did it well. Catwoman is one of those characters who has changed 100 times since her orgin. Which makes the casting more open. I still think FP would make the perfect John Stewart Green Lantern if they ever did a Green Lantern Corps movie. If the Justice League movie that has been put on hold featured grown established actors like Brandon Roth and Christian Bale, i think he would have been perfect for that kind of casting. But since they were doing a younger, less established cast, i don't think he would fit in perfectly 4 that roll. Martian Manhunter would be another hero i could see him play. If they did a Titans movie, i think he'd make an awesome Cyborg. The Hancock idea is okay i guess...but i'd like 2 see him play an established big name superhero at some point.
  24. This takes me back 2 when we got a 1st taste of L+F...classic!!
