BREAKING NEWS! R. KELLY ACQUITTED
JumpinJack AJ replied to TopDawg14's topic in Caught in the Middle
Wow! I didn't get 2 read the article yet...but in the words of Flavor Flav "Wooooooooooooooow." I didnt' see the tape, but i did read in-depth news on everything. I personally cannot say i care much about the outcome. I still buy his music cuz as an artist, he's one of the best...tho' i doubt he'll ever reach the level of quality he had between '93-'96...even thru' 2000. My biggest problem with this was that R. Kelly was taking all the heat. Things go both ways. Yes, he is the adult who should know better, but all other parties involved should be catching the same heat he has been and paying for what they did as well. If he did, then he's wrong and he can deal with it with God. After all this time, i'm sure he already has. But the girl needs 2 go thru' the same thing he goes thru'. It's take 2 to tango and teenagers shouldn't be treated like kids who don't know what they are doing...cuz they do. Again, right is right and wrong is wrong. I'm not the judge and i don't know what happened. I'm just glad the whole thing is over. This isn't like murder or rape. I'm not saying it's right by any means, but 1 person was catching the heat that 2 people should have been catching. If he's a changed man with a new out look on life...i say "Congratz"...if he's gonna be acting foul...then i'll just keep my thoughts 2 myself. -
JASON MRAZ - The Beauty In Ugly (Promo) (2007)

A review for any Lil' Wayne album. Lil' Wayne has no talent. His songs are about nothing becuz he hasn't mastered the song writing concept of writing about something. His voice and flow are unbareably awful. His voice makes fingernails on a chalk board sound beautiful. His production is awful and he should be kicked in the face until he dies.

Hmmm...everything about this song is alright...ha ha. LL's lyrics are effortlessly common. Not bad by any means...just common. A few of the lines are a step down from his last few albums. The production is standard for the kinda stuff that hits the radio. I find the synths kinda annoying. The "ay's" are really annoying. The Dream isn't the wackest R-N-B artist ever...but his talent is very limited and boring. He has no presence on this at all. I'm sad this has 2 be the 1st single. It's so average that i would hope is was a filler album cut...not a single. Oh well, this could be what gets him some big mainstream attention again. It's average enough to be good 2 the average commercial rap fan. I just prefer the days when he released a really good song 2 get success.

Gospel and Christian music aren't the blame. Most artists from that genre aren't going for mainstream success. They grow and experiment like every other pool of artists from other genres. Gospel and Christian artists aren't controling or molding popular music tho.' I don't listen 2 any Classical music. It isn't contoling popular music and seems like it has to remain where it's at. Classical music doesn't have alot of room to evolve...but i could be totally wrong since i'm no expert on it. Rock has tons of influence. Rocks has always branched off in 2 different sub-genres. There are always bandwagons in Rock that make u ?uestion the artists. There was the grunge era...everyone jumped on it...even Heavy Metal artists. Then mainsteam Rock (Vertical Horizon) was big along with feel-good Rock (Sugar Ray). Now this awful emo style whiny Rock is big. I'm no expert on Rock music, but it seems 2 follow the same patten of popular Hip-Hop and Rap. Subgenres, gimmicks, bandwagons are all 2 common. Country has a few subgenres but i don't think they have anything 2 do with the overall decline of music. Their fans seem 2 be the most loyal tho.' The only reason the mainstream state of Hip-Hop sucks is becuz there is no loyalty in Hip-Hop music. Fans are quick 2 forget or ignore artists they once supported. Just compare sales of MC Hammer's "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" to "Too Legit To Quit"....or Fresh Prince's "Big Willie Style" to "Willennium." The quality of the music stayed the same, the promotion was the same, the vibe of the music was similar...but sales dropped, the media didn't support it, and fans sold out. I think that the audience that controls what is popular on the radio and on TV has a lack of knowledge of Hip-Hop music and culture. That is why untalented, uncreative people are finding success with garbage music. The fans don't know what good music is. They will buy in2 anything. They don't think for themselves. They let the media and other people tell them what is hot and what 2 listen 2. It's discusting. I think the average age that controls this has gone down 2. The only way 2 fix the industry is to not support artists who are clearly only gonna be here for a short time who have no artistic ability. They need 2 stop worrying about making a quick buck and INVEST in real artists. Hip-Hop needs 2 enrich the minds of the listeners by exposing them 2 good music instead of bad. Also, when u are pushing downloads and stuff like that, instead of albums. U are incouraging fans 2 buy in 2 gimmicks and flavor-of-the-month artists and NOT talented artists who are releasing albums. The industry is shooting themselves in the foot by doing that. They are setting up steps 2 do away with releasing real music in a respectable way. I could go on forever...but it's late and i'm about 2 crash. But because many of us are Hip-Hop, R-N-B, Rap, and Pop music fans, we are seeing the worst of it. Music as a whole is only suffering a portion compared to the fact that nearly every record on Rap and R-N-B radio is average at best...but mostly straight wack.

That was funny. This reminds me of the Eminem that broke in2 the scene that i fully supported. He didn't really disguise his voice tho'....i think i would have assumed it was him from the start. I like how he waz clowinin' and actually showing me that he is a fan of real Hip-Hop since most of his new stuff and his people contradict that. Even tho' alot of the songs are scraping "average"...this got me in the mood for the new LL album. Shoot, them sparking a friendship could dig Em's music cred outta the gutter.

LL Cool J Feat. Trey Songz "Girl If I"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I wouldn't be surpised if he drops 2 at almost the same time...a rough track and an R-N-B (Around The Way Girl/Mama Said Knock You Out, Hey Lover/I Shot Ya) influcenced track. With the label formally known as Def Jam backing him, it's doubtful tho'. -

Skillz Addresses Lil' Wayne's Rant On Mixtape Deejays
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Don't sweat it Schnazz. Turntable is doing the same thing he's always done....worship processed, face commercial rap music while trying 2 get attention doing it. Sure, there's alot of things u could say 2 him...but most of us got real lives 2 tend 2...and that's what u are doing. -
LL Cool J Feat. Trey Songz "Girl If I"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Good track. His voice and flow do sound like they are from the Mr. Smith era. Trey adds flava without stealing the focus. My only problem is the production. It's good...but it's JUST good. Between the last 3 songs, the new album is starting 2 look up. -

Skillz Addresses Lil' Wayne's Rant On Mixtape Deejays
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'll be glad 2 support my beliefs and tastes in an appropriate topic...but this garbage topic is not the place. And just 2 think, if i wazn't one of the only people amoungst the vets on this board, Turntable would have been banned months ago becuz he annoys 2 many people. That's the last time i stand up for him. -

I love how the fact that i rarely support the moral-lacking Democrats has u claiming that it contradicts a culture i've been a part of for decades that u don't really show that u know anything about. I also love how u are dissing golden age artists who people remember by name even tho' they haven't released an album in 10 years and are claiming that your wide range of gimmick-toting, no-talent-having commercial rappers are going 2 be remembered by name in 5 years. Allow me 2 remind u that it's dangerous ground when u continually go after a moderator. -

Yeah, the past 2 years have had me battling alot of bad things and down times. It amazing how they can stretch themselves out sometimes...or hit u once u start 2 get over the last thing. It will all eventually end sometime. I feel like where i'm at right now is the best place i've been in the past 3 1/2 years...and it's just the beginning. Hang in there, u can't appriciate the good times without the bad. It's the tough times where we learn the most and grow the most. We got your back.

Skillz Addresses Lil' Wayne's Rant On Mixtape Deejays
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
When someone tries 2 stay safe by supporting all things Non-Hip-Hop for a whole paragraph, then cops out on the last sentence everytime 2 "kinda" diss it just so that the true Hip-Hop heads don't rip them apart...their comments don't really stick...just like the careers of their favorite commercial rappers. -
It's 2 in the morning and i'm headed 2 bed...but i just found out i got the part i really wanted in this one play i'm doing. I'm totally hyped!!
