  1. I'm watchin' this now. I missed the 1st 20 mins. I haven't watched Oprah since my high school pyschology/sociology teacher made us watch her tapes from time to time. I swear, she wanted to be Oprah to a T.
  2. Have you seen it? It's been posted already? Yeah, it's my fault for not keepin tabs on Jeff. :paperbag:
  3. Your gonna need a slower beat I think. It's well-written overall. My favorite lines I read was... "Asked for advice, I kept gritting my teeth jus to be nice" "But u know me as a real man, give me an extra verse for u 2 understand" - I don't know if you made a typo, but change the 'give me an extra verse' to 'give you an extra verse'. Just makes better sense to a listening audience. "How could I take away Ur happiness and make sure u we’re sad? The thought alone made me glad, but sick with my self and so damn mad" - Unless you explain it to me, I really don't understand these lines. You might have to fix and really think about what your saying. "I’m an MC, so expressing how I feel is one of the ways I entertain But on the wrong side of the lane, risking my life jus for this fame?" - Nice one. Feel where ya comin' from.
  4. Kel Spencer feat. Raheem DeVaughn - Love & War
  5. Dude, don't you dare even say anything like that. Nas don't even know what he's saying to some degrees, if you wanna nit-pick. Hip Hop Is Dead? **** Hip Hop? That's like, "I love [insert here] but it's dead, so **** [insert here]. Would you say that about a relative or something. If Nas is saying hip hop is dead, he should take it to an even higher level. Find the murder, solve the case, bring the justice. Nas, you were hip hop before Columbia even picked you up. You were Hip Hop when you was a 9-yr old nobody in the park pickin' up game and tryna get everybody there to see what you got. You were Hip Hop when you hit up the spots. (I can recall KRS-One sayin' "Nas is like the dude who's flow you might here in the club, with hunger" (I'm paraphasing and analyzing, so chill). Man, I love Nas, but I hate Nas. Just like Turntable said, **** him. Nah, Nas my dude.
  6. The interview was cool. I honestly haven't been anticipating Nas's album so much for some reason. I know I'm a still get it tho. He's really not making any bad moves or decisions. People just need to understand where he's coming from.
  7. I saw "Black Ty" on 2pac's album and had to think for a minute who that was. Well, if Tyrese feels he needs to be done with music, that's on him. He's had his share of success.
  8. Yeah, I know what you mean. Every indie act tho, is bound to have it's appeal to somebody, whether it be legit fans or friends just playin' around. It's just as silly to think every commercial act is great and every underground act is wack. (based on record sales like Ted said). I don't care what anybody says, Chamillionaire is da ssshhhh. I have his "Sound of Revenge" album and it's amazing as a whole. There's a lil bit of everything on it as far as content is concerned. But again, not everybody is gonna think so or check it out. Some people are satisfied with what musical acts they're into and don't wanna bother finding anymore.
  9. "It’s a different concept for me because I’m a positive guy See the cup as half full and always look on the bright side" - I thought these lines were particularly cool. "Fate was pulling me back… now it’s me that’s refusing" - That was a really dope ending. It's a great verse overall. A good length and honest subject matter.
  10. KEXP 90.3 FM (via internet) www.kexp.org http://www.kexp.org/playlist/playlist.asp - check out the playlist this hour and last hour. Wow! they play some joints. They're currently on 9th Wonder's "Crooklyn Dodgers 3" w/ Jean Grae, Mos Def, & Memphis Bleek. They gonna play that new Nas joint too w/ Jay-Z. They mix pretty good too. Request Kel's "The Building" too, via email or call 206-903-5397 (if u can)
  11. I liked the feel of your vocals over the beat. We all see it, and know the truth. Don't know how many ways to say it, but we keep on. Your flow was genious Brakes, line by line. Are you puttin' snippets of "Business As Usual" on the mixtape? You said it yourself, there's tracks that just need to be heard. And maybe what Ace was saying is right in some senses, but I disagree. There are people who can be "converted" or see what's been said all along. It just took Da Brakes to say it, or whoever. It'll change, but you gotta love the fight put up in this struggle, no matter how strenuous it gets.
  12. TQ - I Got To Go (Cash Money Millionaires - Baller Blockin' -2000) This is the only Cash Money album I need and like. I just up and picked it up one day.
  13. U know I'm wit it. Let the world know "The Building Ain't Big Enough!!!"
  14. You never know what could happen. Someone could pop in anytime. Plus, it's not one of those things you usually do out in the open. It's a confined space activity. And if you're not going to lock the door, at least shut it.
  15. It's happen to me quite a few times. Last song that really did that was Jagged Edge - Questions.
  16. Dude!!! Noooooooooo. She will totally break your heart. Ah, female emcees. You should check out the song "Crooklyn Dodgers 3" with her, Mos Def, & Memphis Bleek on myspace (or somewhere) if you haven't already. Flo Blitz (aka Lance Bennett of Indiana Hooisers football team) - Get In The Game I've listenin to this song like crazy. I've been tryna find these sports anthems him and Kel done. Glad I finally found and heard one. Feel free to check out the video and support 3rd Power. Flo Blitz - Get In The Game Video (Indiana Basketball Team Theme Song)
  17. Kel Spencer feat. Flo Blitz - Pressure (South Mix)
  18. I really liked the beat. Did you make that or use something? You've got a decent attitude, but work on your mixing and delivery.
  19. "But will never crumble a nightmare if u dare oppose me U know how them flows be, it was Ur fault u choose me Now u think Ur debts cleared, I could be much more feared Instead of being booed everywhere, I could be cheered " - I really enjoyed reading this set. This would be good as a slow, chilled rap, and I think you'd be set. Pretty good job Joe.
  20. Jason's Lyric (Soundtrack - 1994) I can't stop playing it.
  21. And I was just listening to Black Men United "U Will Know", which features him. One of true R&B greats.
  22. Saigon feat. Trey Songz - Pain In My Life "Even though I got Pain in My life, I keep discreet I gotta deal, still sleep in the street" "If it was pain up in heaven wouldn't the rain be bloodstains Cuz down here not much changed, in the game cuz everybody wanna thug name If you knew the pain I sustained just for lettin' my gun bang You would pump ya brakes young mayne You would jump in the oth' lane"
  23. Mint Condition - From the Mint Factory (1993 - album)
