This is very cool.  Well done. I like that you didn't just go for the singles.

When I saw he won, I was so happy. It's like one less brick taken away from the drama of last year.

JumpinJack AJ got a reaction from fan 4ever in QUESTLOVE SAYS WILL SMITH WAS GOING TO MAKE A SURPRISE APPEARANCE DURING THE GRAMMY'S HIP-HOP TRIBUTE
This has me mad. He sometimes talks about how he's not appreicated in Hip-Hop the way he should be.   He had a place in this, and he walked away.  His partner in music was part of this, and he walked away.  His peers, many who have shown respect for him, were involved in this, and he walked way.  This was a one-night event/commitment, and he walked away.  This could have played a big part in his comeback in pop culture, and he walked away. Him and Jeff have the first Grammy for Hip-Hop. The slap didn't really bother me.  This bothers me.   I can only hope that the Grammy's performance sparks interest in Hip-Hop culture and music and that we see more events surrounding it and that he gets his butt in order and participates.

The posts are on brand.  I don't think I want to see him go back to the same level as he was once doing, as I found it impossible to keep up with everything, but I do think using it correctly until his next big project will be ideal.

Wills Instagram post is great. Using comedy to test the water. Glad to see 99% positive comments, fans telling him they love him and come back. Great to see. Hopefully he feels comfortable easing back into the public eye now.

It's good to see him out, like he's not trying to stay in seclusion.  I also like Will Packer chiming in.  There will always be the petty type who are going to hold some kind of grudge against him, but I think the tide is turning and a lot of people are realizing that this is just something that happened.

it's unnessary in 2022 to beef in hip hop period, too many loved ones are dying in reality, we need game and eminem to do a song together, they're both talented, i think this is just a gimmick to promote his album which is a shame because game is a hit maker, he don't need to do this...

People would loose their **** if a solo deadshot movie was announced right now and oh man I would love to see it.

I thought it was just a choice. I wasn't thinking it was tied to any movie projects.  I kind of doubt that it's tied to Deadshot.  With DC films being re-worked, possibly wiped clean, I don't think we'll see any more Suicide Squad projects, at least not the same one he was involved in.

He handled it well. He was genuine and remorseful.  His charisma and spark was absent, which was probably appropriate. There may be more to say about this, but if he's ready, he should do something to remind people why they love(d) him.

Thank God for Will.I.Am.  I roll my eyes because all the "hip-hop" groups on Facebook celebrate the same rappers.  It's also 2Pac, Biggie, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Snoop, Ice Cube, Eminem etc.  There's nothing wrong with them...and I like their music, but the mainstream is so simple minded with such a narrow taste. I like hearing someone praising artists that don't rely on violence/drugs/sex subject matter and explicit lyrics.

I do think popping up at one of Jeff's shows would be a good idea.  That way he's in a position where he's supporting someone instead of making it about himself.  Jeff is the one person who has been entirely in his corner when it comes to the press. I feel like that kind of crowd would be in his corner the most, too.  Footage of it would get around, making it a special low key moment. From the start I've been saying music is the healthiest playing field for him right now.

People will always make jokes about the slap for the rest of his career unfortunately. People still joke about the entanglement, they still talk about the open marriage. It will always be there and someone will always make a comment.

I don’t however think it’s the end of his career. He’s too liked and too talented for it to overshadow his whole personality.
I think the next step for him is to go about his business. Do a new film, then as he’s promoting it, he will undoubtedly be asked and he can address it then.

I don’t think he should do an interview just about it. It’s just bringing it all up again.

Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Reunite to Perform Fugees Classics at 2022 Essence Festival
The team-up follows the cancellation of the Fugees' 25th anniversary tour earlier this year.

07/3/2022 Lauryn Hill performs at Global Citizen Live at Pier 17 on Sept. 22, 2021 in New York City.Johnny Nunez/WireImage Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean joined forces to perform a handful of Fugees classics at the 2022 Essence Festival.
The surprise reunion occurred during Wyclef’s unannounced set at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Friday (July 1). Midway through his performance, Hill stepped out for a solo rendition of “Killing Me Softly” before being joined by her Fugees bandmate on “How Many Mics,” “Fu-Gee-La” and “Ready or Not.”
The Fugees, including bandmate Pras, last performed together during a surprise pop-up concert in New York as part of a Global Citizen event in September 2021. The brief show marked the group’s first show since 2006.
The beloved hip-hop trio had planned on embarking on a 12-date international reunion tour this year to celebrate the anniversary of their landmark 1996 album, The Score, but the trek was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen. The continued Covid pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe,” the Fugees said in a statement. “An idea sparked to honor and celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Score but we see now it may not currently be our time for revisiting this past work.”
The Score, the Fugees’ second and final studio album, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and scored hits with “Killing Me Softly,” “Fu-Gee-La” and “Ready or Not.” The collection also won the Grammy for best rap album and another for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for “Killing.”
After splitting in 1998, the Fugees reunited in 2004 for Dave Chappelle’s Block Party concert film, came back together the next year for a 12-minute medley to open the 2005 BET Awards and played their final show in Feb. 2006 at a free gig for fans in Los Angeles.

Yeah, I think it's appropriate that the BET award was given to him, but that he didn't attend and that it hasn't gotten much attention.  Going back to Jeff's interview, I think he helps put things in perspective. I feel like he's the only one in Will's circle who's really doing the work while Will is laying low.

I recently had a chance to add something really dope to my collection. I'm hoping its one of the original tapes that were sent out in the late 90s and not a reproduction, but either way its a nice piece to own. Listened to this mixtape countless times, might be my favorite of his too.

JumpinJack AJ got a reaction from Hero1 in BAD BOYS DIRECTOR SAYS SONY "HAD NO FAITH" IN THE FILM'S SUCCESS WITH TWO BLACK ACTORS
    https://blackamericaweb.com/2022/04/14/sony-bad-boys-film-believed-not-successful-black-lead-actors/?fbclid=IwAR3Rf9apgjkmCycUMColWcEuX74iHbNmK3OWeEWAZqR-21Fgbmj8QQlpv3c
‘Bad Boys’ Director Says Sony “Had No Faith” In The Film’s Success With Two Black Stars
Keenan "HIGz" Higgins   Even though Will Smith is going through a career crisis of sorts for infamously slapping fellow veteran actor Chris Rock at this year’s Academy Awards, there’s no denying his existing roster of hit leading roles in Hollywood. For many, the standout of those is his third-ever feature film, Bad Boys, which co-stars comedic legend Martin Lawrence.
Over 25 years and two successful sequels later, with a fourth currently in pre-production, director Michael Bay says the $840 million franchise’s longtime distributor Sony Pictures originally didn’t think it would even be a success with two Black actors in the lead roles.
While promoting his new film Ambulance, Bay spoke to Entertainment Weekly briefly about his directorial debut with Bad Boys. He was asked about his now-signature “hero shot” that dramatically circles the characters at a prominent climax in the movie. Bay said Bad Boys is where it started, and the inspiration was fueled by Sony’s doubt and disrespect for them during principal photography. “Sony didn’t believe in the movie, because two Black actors don’t sell overseas,” he said of their apprehensions, going to add, “And they shut me down, literally. They shut the power off. That’s how rude they were on this movie.” Take a look below at how one shot and a determination to prove Sony wrong led Michael Bay to success with Bad Boys and one of the most imitated cinematic scenes in action film history, via EW:
“So I remember we’re driving our van. The line producer, he didn’t like me. I don’t think he liked anybody. I said, ‘Stop the car! Stop the van.’ And he’s coming up to me, the line producer, saying, ‘What are you doing, Michael? We don’t have time for this.’ I’m like, ‘This is going to be the trailer shot.’ For some reason, I just came up with this shot as we’re driving. And I said, ‘Where’s the circle trolley? Get the circle trolley.’ And we made this round move and you guys rise up and it became a very famous shot. People try to imitate it, but it was a seminal moment. ‘Bad Boys’ literally changed the game on Black actors. It’s the first movie that really traveled overseas.”
As we now know, Bad Boys would go on to make $141.4 million at the box office on a $19 million budget and solidify both Smith and Lawrence as certified Black leading males in Hollywood. We bet Sony is glad they didn’t go with their initial bias!
