R kelly - "Trapped In The Closet"(5 Part story)
JumpinJack AJ replied to Vipa's topic in Caught in the Middle
I picked up the "In The Kitchen / Trapped In The Closet" CD single 2 weeks ago. I can't wait 4 the new album. -
The Dairy Queens around here are drive-up/walk-up also. However, there is one about half an hour away from me that u can actually go in and sit down.

All i can say is WOW! This CD is amazing. I love the old Motown stuff and none of these remixes leave me feeling they messed with the music in a bad way. THE JACKSON 5 - I Want You Back - The guitar starts it off, then a retro Hip-Hop beat drops. Perfect way 2 start off the album. GLADYS KNIGHT + THE PIPS - I Heard It Through The Grapevine - It starts off with little music under the vocals. Then this live band back up the original vocals. MARVIN GAYE - Let's Get It On - This on is CRAZY!! The beat is a laidback back, summery soul thump. Marvin's vocals are of course timeless. This remix could top the charts if they released it. STEVIE WONDER - Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours - Funkly live band remix of the track. Stays true 2 the original. THE JACKSON 5 - ABC - Bass heavy mix with a dash of old skool mixed in. RARE EARTH - I Just Want To Celebrate - Raw hip-hop beat backs this one up. Some nice scratches are tossed in. This isn't one of my fav songs in the 1st place tho.' THE TEMPTATIONS - Papa Was A Rollin' Stone - DJ JAZZY JEFF + PETE KUZMA bring it on this house meets R-N-B soul remix. This original song isn't comparable 2 alot of The Temptations stuff, but JJ + PK totally flipped it in a way that i like better. It's dope. What else do u expect from da Magnificent?!? CHECK IT!! SMOKEY ROBINSON - Quiet Storm - amazing song from the start. This throwback R-N-B take on it is great. While the beat is a bit sinple, it's about as far as u wanna take it on the remix of this song. DIANA ROSS + THE SUPREMES - My World Is Empty Without You - This is defintly one of the best remixes on the album. It's a steady bumping slow take on the song. WOW!! THE TEMPTATIONS - Just My Imagination - One of the greatest R-N-B songs of all time. Legendary Hip-Hop producer Easy Mo Bee reworks this track in a vibes infested R-N-B soul remix. U'd expect this sound from A Touch of Jazz. THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH - Smiling Faces Sometimes - Not one of my favs in the 1st place. This remix keeps a dash of the original feel in it...but it's a basic R-N-B remix 4 it. SMOKEY ROBINSON + THE MIRACLES - Tears of A Clown - This is a upbeat dance remix of the song. Interesting. EDDIE KENDRICKA - Keep On Truckin' - DJ Spinna handled this one. The beat is live band meets Hip-Hop funk. EDWIN STARR - War - this is a trippy jungled flava'd dance version. King Britt did this one. RICK JAMES - Mary Jane - This funk remix is a bonus cut. Definitly a great take on the track. If u check this album b4 listening 2 it. Make sure u check The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, and Diana Ross + The Surpremes remixes.

"Miami" is an alright song, but i think it's one of his weakest ever. Compared 2 this other stuff, "Miami" is nothing. I remember getting mad when Big Willie Style 1st came out cuz all the reviews talked about the song even tho' there were others they should have been talking about. Then, when he did the video, i waz like "why, Why, WHY!?!?"

Checkers is just burger place. I'm not sure where they are. I just know they have some up the east coast. 2 the best of my knowlege, they are all drive up joints with picnic tables outside. It's great going there on warm, sunny spring or summerdays. However, me and a friend went up their this winter so we couldn't eat outside and i don't usually let people eat in my car. So we got our food at Checkers, then ran across the parking lot 2 the Wendy's next 2 it. We got Frosty's there and sat down with Checkers...ha ha.

I picked up Motown Remixed. The album is amazing!! Expect a review from me 2nite or 2morrow.

do you feel kinda bad for loretta?
JumpinJack AJ replied to willsmithlover01's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
willsmithlover...u wouldn't be from the official Will Smith board, would u? That's the only place where u can find people who actually feel sorry 4 the Loretta character. -
"Moments of Common Sense" brought 2 u by Tim. :)

MOTOWN #1's I picked this up last summer. Since the remix album is coming out 2day...hopefully featuring the Jazzy Jeff remix...i had 2 get it out. It's jammed with classics.

HAPPY B-DAY!! I hope your chin dosen't fall off.

That's a nice accomplishment 2 add 2 all his others...especially since it's NOW and not 1997.

Your Top 3 music producers of all time
JumpinJack AJ replied to Big Willie Style's topic in Caught in the Middle
How on earth could i 4get Timbaland!?!? Hotzappa, i gotta agree with u on Phil Spector. At least back in the '60's. These days he's busy killing girls in his house (if that's true). -
It's my favorite track off the album. I haven't seen the video on TV or heard the song on the radio. 2Pac's albums always do well. I think the fact that this one didn't do well is a big statement from 2pac fans that they dont' want Eminem.

Part 1 In random order: Snoop Dogg - laidback gangsta hip-hop. I like Snoop. Kurupt - umm...his mic skillz ain't that bad but he dosen't have any lyrics. His music overall is boring, forgetable, and usually wack. Daz - same as Kurupt Rakim - The master...the greatest emcee of all time. LL Cool J - my 2nd fav emcee of all time. Creative, funny, and LEGENDARY DMX - gritty street Hip-Hop at it's best. Raw and untaimed on the mic. Redman - hilarious, creative, original...one of the best emcees 2 get success in recent years. Method Man - i like alot of his stuff. His voice is one of a kind. Warren G - laidback westcoast genius. I love his stuff. the Game - Wack. Trash. Awful flow, stupid lyrics. Pure crap. Nas - introspective and multifaced. Nice flow and voice. I can't feel all his stuff...but he gets tons of props from me. Jay-z - annoying voice, usually boring lyrics. He has a few trax i like. His early stuff waz good. Biggie - I never really felt B.I.G. Some of his stuff ain't bad, but i think he's highly overrated. Fat Joe - He's got some dope stuff, and some stuff i don't care 2 listen 2. I don't buy his albums tho.' Big Pun - I coundn't get in2 him. I liked 1 or 2 of his singles but i thought he waz highly overrateted. 2Pac - ghetto prophet. Very multifaced and misunderstood. One of the smartest people 2 ever record music and had one of the biggest hearts in Hip-Hop. KRS-One - One of the best ever. Intellegent, thought provoking, and Hip-Hop's biggest fan and leader. NWA - Groundbreaking. Eminem - Once a genius...now an idiot. Annoying voice and often an annoying flow 2. Not a good producer and a sell out 2 his original fanbase. Ja Rule - Hardcore wannabe and DMX biter. His has 1 or 2 singles i like, but not relaly cuz his music is any good...ha ha. Petey Pablo - wack Tech 9ne - haven't heard hardly any trax by Tech 9ne...no opinion. Dead Prez - same here...no opinoin Mos Def - One of the few keeping it real these days. Amazing artist...tho' the sound of his most recent album isn't that great. Tribe Called Quest - Possibly the best GROUP of all time. Ludacris - sometimes funny, but overall his lyrics bore me and his flow annoys me. Most of his singles are unbarable 2 listen 2. Foxy Brown - she's on fire. One of the only non-old skool females that can hang with the fellas. I didn't feel her Chyna Doll album much. She bit Lil' Kim's style which is wack in the 1st place. Trina - Trash...slut music...ha ha Beanie Siegel - no thanx. No lyrics or flow. 50Cent - Trash, unoriginal, obnoxious. WACK Big L - intellegent, simple, but good. I have his last album but don't listen 2 it enuff 2 have a solid opinion. It just didn't keep my attention. Common - one of the best. Flow always dope, Lyrics always on point. The ONLY thing that ever turned me off waz the over all direction of his last album. Kanye West - overrated but better than all the other cats who have come out in the last 5 years. Xzibit - Some of his stuff is good, some of it isn't. I don't listen 2 him enuff 2 have an opinion. The Roots - originators. One of the top groups ever. Again, the experimental stuff they've done isn't comparable 2 their original style. Twista - great flow. Most of his lyrics are dope 2. Trick Daddy - At 1st i used 2 diss him 2 death. But i like his last 2 singles. Run DMC - the greatest group...Tribe will have 2 be bumped 2 number 2 Talib Kweli - classic. Flow always on point, lyrics alway relevant. One of the best solo artists ever. Scarface - dope...original repersenter of the dirty south. P. Diddy - i don't consider him a real rapper. His flow and lyrics don't stand out at all. But when it comes 2 what's on the radio, i don't mind his stuff when u comepare it 2 G-Unit and Mike Jones. Nelly - lyrics are often trash and his flow/voice are pretty annoying. He dose a have a few trax i don't mind tho.' Chingy - I think this guy could have some real usic on his hands, but his production and commercal aimed lyrics are boring 2 wack. I like 2 of his singles which make me feel this way. DJ Quik - pimped out west coast style at its best. Keith Murray - i love this guy. I bought his 1st album when it 1st came out. I can't say i like ALL of his music, but he's defintly got skillz. Gangstarr - AMAZING!! It dont' get much better. Ghostface Killah - I haven't listened 2 him enuff 2 have an opinion. Ice Cube - One of the west coast's best. I grew up on his stuff and it set the mood 4 what good hardcore Hip-Hop is...which is why i hate so much of these fake gangstas like 50 Cent. Juvenile - his music makes me puke Eve - one of the only female emcees that has come out in recent years that i respect Outkast - creative and ground breaking. I don't like all of their recent stuff, but it's still good music. Busta Rhymes - Hip-Hop's last standing solo emcee who gets crazy sales. While other true skool emcees often suffer when it comes 2 sales, Busta always excels.

Your Top 3 music producers of all time
JumpinJack AJ replied to Big Willie Style's topic in Caught in the Middle
There are so many producers out there...here is a list of others that i've always liked...Teddy Riley, Jermaine Dupri, Eddie F + The Untouchables, Soulshock + Karlin (SoulPower), DJ Premier (Gang Starr), Pete Rock, Prince Paul (formally an extended member of De La Soul), Babyface, Eazy Mo Bee, Kay Gee (Naughty By Nature), Johnny J (2Pac's mid-90's in-house producer), Shock G + Digital Underground, Dallas Austin, Dr. Dre, Trackmasters. -
Internet petitions never amount 2 anything. If WW wants 2 do the show, they will. Some petition isn't gonna change anything. We'll just see how things pan out. It's hilarious how much attention this is getting virtually nobody commerically knows about Wicked Wisdom.

Just The 2 Of Us vs. Mocking Bird
JumpinJack AJ replied to DefCEM's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I had 2 go with "Just The Two of Us." "Mocking Bird" is a dope song. It's one of the only songs i've like by Eminem in the past 4 years. The problem with that song is, he's compliaining about things he can change. With FP's "Just The Two of Us," he's putting alot more heart in2 the lyrics and the advice he gives in the song is amazing. A few years before "Tell Me Why" waz written, he said "Just The Two of Us" waz him at his lyrical best. Many of us might not agree with him on that, but i think we all know where he waz coming from when he said that. -
Miss N.I.C., thanx 4 poppin' in!! It's been frustrating waiting on stuff from Kel 2 drop. The last few times i checked 4 his site, it waz no longer up. I got "The Streets Know That/Promise Land" 12" and "The Street Know That / Freestyle" sampler. That stuff has been holding me over for like 2 years. Please keep us posted!!

U can't really believe anything u read on the internet unless it's from a legit source. However, i think it is smart 2 release "Party Starter" now and "Tell Me Why" in autumn (Sept). It just makes sense musically and from a marketing stand point.
