  1. Thanx 4 posting that. I've seen quite a few of these so i've been sleeping on them. I defintly plan on getting on soon...not sure if i'll get this one tho.'
  2. The only thing that would be funnier than u asking somebody 2 upload a JJ+FP album would be if any of us waz stupid enough 2 do it.
  3. Wow, that waz a short retirment. I'm glad he's coming back. He's one of the only gritty street emcee i love listening 2. He has yet 2 create an album as dope as his 1st one...i'm hoping he can find his way back 2 that. I hope he watches the way he's livin.' He reminds me of 2Pac in the sense of having a big heart, spirituality, and lots of street smarts, but keeps coming face 2 face with adversity.
  4. Grease (the movie soundtrack)...just watched the movie last nite.
  5. I'll kinda discribe them...and which ever one u think is what u should out 1st...u can go by reading my post. Radio and Bigger And Deffer at straight old skool. Walking With The Panther is late 80's style old skool. Mama Said Knock You Out is an early 90's kinda album. But honestly, i don't love the whole album as much as i love most of the early '90's Hip-Hop. It has some amazing trax...and some that are just straight rhyming..which isn't a bad thing. The stand out trax just really stand out. Marley Marl waz the mastermind of this album. 14 Shot To The Dome is mid-90's. He waz totally exhausted when he did this album, but it's one of my favs. "Pink Cookies..., Stand By Your Man, Diggy Down, etc. Mr. Smith waz his mid-90's come back. It's straight Hip-Hop and nearly every track is radio-ready. This album is Trackmasters at their best (tho' they didn't do the whole album). Phenomenon is a hodge-podge album. There's all kinds of stuff on this album. Slick commerical stuff, straight Hip-Hop, R-N-B soul, everything. G.O.A.T. is his gritty street album. Lost of masculine energy on the album. Lots of deep stuff mixed in some of the trax 2. 10 is his straight Hip-Hop comeback. If u like FP's solo work, this is slightly similar 2 it. The DEFinition is another radio ready album. Some of the trax are just a lil' under produced, but LL always comes correct with the lyrics and flow.
  6. She's just one of many old skoolers who who got some minor success then never came back. I don't think there's anything more 2 say about her other than that. She had her own album in 86/87.
  7. No offense, but i would pay not 2 see that concert.
  8. I just can't get in2 Ludaris. Some of his lyrics are funny...but can't say anything good other than that. I can't stand his voice and dirty south flow. Don't even bet my started on his production. After seeing him perform live, i knew everything i needed 2 know 2 form my opinion.
  9. There's no battle quality in saying things u could do (like the gun talk). It's just ignorant fools talking 2 me. I think it's embarassing with stuff like Jay-Z and Nas feuding. Espeically 50 Cent trying 2 fight everyone in the game. He's an idiot. Especially when it's obvious that it's just for sales. There really isn't any reason 4 people 2 feud. Battling, when done, should be strictly old skool. It waz the compitition that people were after. It waz the challenge aspect that made it entertaining. It's not like that anymore. People just wanna cuss each other out and say explict stuff. It's just mindless insulting. In the end, everybody just looks like a fool.
  10. Yeah, i knew it waz based off of "Roxanne Roxanne." I think it waz really cool the way he put the song 2gether.
  11. Wow! I'm just thinkin' about 50 Cent, G-Unit, Eminem, Ludacris, Lil' Jon, and all those other guys who make it on the charts being there and watching JJ+FP putting on a real show. They are all gonna realize they don't know the 1st thing about rockin' the mic. Sit down commerical rappers....Hip-Hop 101 class is in session. PROFESSOR 'PRINCE: This is a microphone. 50 CENT: ((Gasp)) Ludacris: Wow! EMINEM: I never seen a mic like thaaaat. PROFESSOR 'PRINCE: Will the Real Slim Shady Please shut up G-UNIT: ((Starts crying...in unison))
  12. EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL - Mirrorball (DJ Jazzy Jeff Sole Full Remix)
  13. Man, Uncle Sam waz dope. He waz just a great R-N-B artist. And with Boyz II Men producing, singing, and writing on the album...it waz just a big event. I'd love 2 see him make a comeback, but i think that if he waz gonna try it....it would have happened by now.
  14. I wouldnt' want Nas doing more than one song with FP. He's cool...but he's not one of FP's potnas.
  15. DARLENE LOVE (Bob B. Soxx + The Blue Jeans) - Why Do Lovers Break Each Other's Hearts Takin' it real old skool....'60's old skool in fact.
  16. THANX!! This sounds even better than it originaly did!! I can't believe they opened with "Here We Go Again"!!! I'm so hyped!! June 14th needs 2 hurry up!! Here the text from that page (which has no pix on it) 4 the lazy people on the board. --- Will Smith Live In Concert! The Fresh Prince invades LA for a special one-off show. June 02, 2005 - Headliner: Will Smith Opening Acts: None When: March 14, 2005 Where: Center Staging in Burbank, 3407 Winona Ave, Ticket Price: Private show, invite only It must be said that I've been a fan of Will Smith's almost as long as he's been a rapper. I discovered He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper when I was in short pants, and still know the words to just about every song on the album- except "Charlie Mack (1st out of the Limo)," which I never liked much. So when Will Smith stepped out on stage to perform a few pre-emptive jams to promote his then-forthcoming new album Lost and Found, I admit I was easily swayed by the performer's still-strong presence. Opening with "Here We Go Again," whose lyrics I begrudgedly confess I was mimicking syllable for syllable, Smith had at least one fan in his thrall, and managed to keep proceedings as fresh as back in 1988 for well over an hour. The problem that popped up pretty early in Smith's routine was the growing realization that the actor-rapper thinks he still has something to prove; that is, that he still considers himself a rapper-actor, not the other way around, and wanted to make sure we knew he was as talented as the day he announced girls weren't nothin' but trouble. Truth be told, however, he was doing a damn fine job on the microphone, even without the defensive barbs that dominate much of the material on his new album. "Party Starter,' even back in March, was a perfect summer anthem, and I immediately anticipated its pole position on future mix tapes and at future block parties and barbeques; "Switch," the disc's lead single, skittered along on Smith's infectious energy and infused his hired back-up dancers with a believable enthusiasm while the rapper more than kept time with his fast-paced if curiously safe lyrics; and his a capella of "I Wish I Made That" proved significantly more ferocious than the ankle-biting version that showed up on Lost and Found, observing that his critics frequently dismiss him and critique his success despite his relative triumphs in other arenas (those being every one of his billion-dollar earning movies). Other standout performances include his requisite versions of "Summertime" and "Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It," as well as the debut of a new track, "Tell Me Why," that featured an in-person cameo from none other than Mary J. Blige; the new song outwardly seemed to be a little too much of a downer- it sounds a lot like many of Eminem's depressing productions- but Smith's introspective lyrics elevated the tune among the ranks of today's most intelligent rap songs. As the production staff would later inform the diminutive crowd, we were attending not a super-secret concert or some privileged party thrown by Smith, but the taping of a future DVD to be distributed in spots like Wal-Mart presumably in conjunction with the release of Lost and Found. Curiously, the disc has yet to appear in stores, though I did see a clip on MTV during the week of the album's release. Hopefully before too long both you and I will be able to watch and enjoy one of the better concerts I've seen recently; and in case you're wondering, I'll be the white guy in the tan sport coat looking completely out of place, but still keeping pace with Smith on all of his old school hits. -- Todd Gilchrist
  17. Please have audio of this 4 the board, somebody!!
  18. Ahhhh!! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I can't believe i 4got about them. Love those movies...in the order they came out of course.
  19. I knew exactly what u mean. But at the same time, he's gotta do what in his heart, ya know. If it's something he likes doin,' which i would probably like doin,' i wouldn't get totally away from it either. By getting away from Nickelodeon, he can undo that affiliation with them. Besides, it's not like Hip-Hop and Rap fans supported him by getting millions of copies of his album. Why sell him self out 4 people who haven't supported him in a big way. Hopefully his next album drops by the end of the summer. With his last one "Your Pops Don't Like Me" came out in March. The single had moderate success but waz over by the beginning of summer. "Feelin' Freaky" waz a very average song. I think that Jive thought having B2K on the hook would take it 2 big levels, which it didn't. "Gigilo" waz a big hit, but Nick knocks that song saying that there's so much more 2 himself than that single. His album waz ORIGINALLY slated for April 2003, it didn't come out til Oct/Nov 2003. That's a 6/7 month wait....that's 2 long the majority of his audience.
  20. They have "a few things" blurred in the video. I waz watching a late nite music video show on BET that playes the tasteless R-rated videos. They still blur out the nasty stuff.
  21. Ha ha...bigteg, i've always called Kel Spencer the perfect mix of Fresh Prince and Rakim. That's not a bad combination 4 me...my favorite emcee off all time and the greatest emcee of all time.
