Who named it? It's actually the "Miami Mix" which can be found on most version of the CD single. I was so mad when i found out "Miami" was the next single off the album. To this day it's my least favorite song off of BWS.

Hmmmm...not much of a fan of the new look right now. The board is missing some soul.

Method Man & Redman - Blackout II
JumpinJack AJ replied to Turntable's topic in Caught in the Middle
I got the album but i've barely listened 2 it so far. At times, when sampling, it came off as kind of predictable. That's not a bad thing, but it's not knocking my socks off. There's definitly a few stand out tracx on here. I'm gonna get in2 this album more this week. -
I listened 2 the whole album. I liked it enough to buy it. This is the 1st Eminem album i've bought new since The Marshall Mathers LP. All of the beats can only be rated at 6's or 7's. Maybe an 8 if u are generious. What i do like is that the beats are going back 2 a sound closer 2 his earlier stuff and that that they are set up 2 let him just rap over them so that the listener actually listens 2 him and not an over produced beat which is what alot of people settle for. His flow is actually pretty good. It reminds me of when emcees actually cared about how they flowed over the track. His voice and delivery are kinda annoying over more than half of the album. The fact that he's trying different things and doing it on songs that don't matter lyrically as much as others is what makes me be able 2 listen 2 them without skipping at this point. Lyrically there's pieces of the old Eminem and crappier, later-model Eminem. Something about this album has me listening 2 it kinda often. I think i'm an Eminem fan again. I've been listening 2 Relapse more than Busta Rhymes' new album and Method Man + Redman's new albums. The bonus track that i've heard and liked was "Careful What U Wish For." I wanna get my hands on that.

The "Forgot About Dre" video, the masks, the live show bits all came out after everyone took that line as a diss and since it turned in2 that, Eminem just started doing it. The actual line isn't a diss. He does diss just about anybody he can, but listen 2 half of those lines...half the time they aren't disses, he just says something about them that actually isn't insulting about them.

JANET JACKSON + KANYE WEST - My Baby Damita-Jo (2004)? Janet needs 2 get back 2 music like this....and fast!!
-
Oh, i'm not saying there aren't lots. I must say i kinda liked the remix of "This Is Why..." only because i hadn't heard Junior Reid in about 10 years at that point and thought he brought a good vibe 2 the remix...but that's it.

"This Is Why I'm Hot" was one of the worst songs of the 2000's. It was so bad that i wasn't even gonna give his other stuff a listen.

Mariah's New Album title; Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel
JumpinJack AJ replied to ant1's topic in Caught in the Middle
This article is just stupid. Eminem saying stuff like that has always been one of his unimaginative gimmicks. I find it strange that Nick Cannon let it get 2 him since Eminem has been so predictable. At the same time, Eminem should keep his topics off of stuff like marriage. I mean, if u are married 2 someone, u are going 2 stand up for your marriage and the person u are with. So i can see where that could sting...but at the same time, it's just Eminem. I love that Nick called Eminem out on his music not progressing. Someone in the industry needed 2 say that. Unlike alot of people here, i like Nick Cannon's music. I'll listen 2 Nick's stuff anyday over Eminem's. Nick isn't a battle rapper...but i wish he'd drop more music. -
New FREE Kel Spencer Downloads & Update!
JumpinJack AJ replied to KelSpencer's topic in Caught in the Middle
I've been checkin'...but for some reason my computer isn't downloading half of the trax properly. I was gonna bug one of u 2 send them all 2 me at some point 2 see if it would work thru' AIM or e-mail. The only one i don't need is "Shine All Day" since i picked up the album. I think i've only been able 2 get 3 of them 2 download properly. Kel, your grind is crazy. U've got so much going on. I know i speak for most of us when i say we look forward 2 all your weekly goodies. Dope music. Still holding out 4 the album. -
Mariah's New Album title; Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel
JumpinJack AJ replied to ant1's topic in Caught in the Middle
A few weeks ago i got in the mood 2 revisit her last album...which is still easily her weakest album...but i'm hoping she comes back with something stronger this time around. The song she did for that one movie "Right To Dream" was amazing 2 me. Far better than anything from E=MC2. I haven't heard what Eminem said about her. But keep in mind that if they dated in the past, he's always come off as a very bitter and jealous person towards females. MC Hammer even called him on "Full Blast"...ha ha. I don't think she's gonna sweat him much. Has anyone seen the recent pix of her? She's shooting some movie or finished shooting some movie that apparently has been creating a buzz that this movie could give her some serious acting cred. She's gained weight, neglected her hair and make-up and altered her appearance 2 play this character that's dealing with all kinds of issues. I've never seen her look so bad...ha ha. If the album is dropping in the fall, we should have a new single by the end of the summer...hopefully free from side artists like Young Jeezy, The-Dream, and T-Pain. -
I was gonna check this song out when i saw he did a song with Nice + Smooth but forgot all about it. They are barely on it which is a huge disappointment. I like the beat tho.' I thought Mims was awful the 1st time he came out. Compared 2 the regulars on the radio, it sounds like he's outshining alot of them. I might give his album a listen.

If u click on FP's name close 2 the end of that list, it'll take u 2 a very basic page about him. There's a few pix on there of him performing that i've never seen before. Check it out.

I saw the article on this in the new Vibe but hadn't read it yet. Weird voting set up....but lets support real Hip-Hop anyway.
-
Actually, he didn't really diss him on "The Real Slim Shady"...pop music fans just thought he did and then Eminem started playing in 2 it. I saw on Facebook that Jazzy was going 2 Eminem's release part...but having him as a guest at his show is, like Ted said, "interesting."

Hmmm...not really sure what 2 think here. I'm not a Jay-Z fan, but i could never imagin him being a real battle rapper. I don't even remember the stuff he did towards Nas. I can't imagin him being a worthy contender 2 LL. I can't wee LL working under Jay-Z willingly if all this was true. After 10, LL's promotion quickly went downhill. I only ever thought their was tension there because LL, being a legend, had 2 work under Jay-Z. I mean, look at Russell Simmons and then look at Jay-Z. That's a big adjustment. Look what the label did and didn't do under Jay-Z. It seemed like the whole label was set up just 2 benifit Jay-Z. In the meantime, i'm just gonna wait for LL 2 change his mind and do a full album again.

Has anyone else read the interview he did with Vibe (the issue that has him on the cover)? It's actually very interesting and i've gained some of my respect back for him. He opens up totally about the last few years. He goes 2 a real vunerable place about his addiction to drugs and how it effected his work ethic and expectations for his music as well as how he treated people. He actually shows respect towards his mother for the 1st time ever since he himself had an addiction. He talks about how he wallowed in the depression of losing Proof and how he was making all about himself. He talks about how his life was just out of control after being in rehab and the hospital, gaining weight, losing weight, and nearly dying. He talks about finding God (he rocks a cross on the cover of the magazine) and also talks about how Hip-Hop excites him once again and how his the music he was making was boring, lazy, and depressing. He talks about not really keeping an ear open 2 Hip-Hop but that he loves LL Cool J's and T.I.'s recent albums. He talks about his style and mixing things up. He says that he's only produced one song in the past few years and that it was "Beautiful" and that he only included it because he felt it was the best song he did while being addicted 2 drugs and that his other material just took him 2 a dark and depressing place. He says he has 2 albums ready 2 release. I can't say i'm hyped 2 hear him like i waz back in 1999 but i do have a genuine interest in this new album. He kinda sounded like a smarter, wiser, and more mature verison of himself from when he 1st broke out.

List of all Will's and JJFP's music videos
JumpinJack AJ replied to Romano338's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Is that the official "Can't Wait To Be With You" music video? I've never seen it. What is the purpose of having silly C-Level look-a-likes performing their song for serious promotion? The kid with a mustache singing Chrispher Williams' part was almost dead on...haha. The akward "Summertime" and "Boom! Shake The Room" clips only added 2 the ridiculousness. -
JJ+FP: NON-ALBUM MUSIC LIST
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Thanx Big Willie! There's a few songs on there that i don't have. I know not all of it was officially released. I might come 2 u with a ?uestion or 2 in the next week or so. -
...actually, i love the 2nd verse...but the 1st and 3rd one kinda suck.
-
The beat is dope. I'd like 2 hear alot of other emcees rapping over it tho.' I feel it's 2 good for Game. Flow wise, i like him...but he could do so much more with his lyrics.
-
Ha ha...i agree wit u Ted. Anything 2 get FP back on the mic in a mainstream way. I'll listen 2 the new Eminem album when it comes out. I highly doubt i'll wanna buy it tho.' It would take alot of backtracking for him 2 actually be dope again...much less taken seriously. I'm definintely interested in peeping this "Beautiful" track that everyone talking about.

Will Smith: The Battle Rapper?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ataraxia's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't think i've ever heard of him going up against anyone famous. Only other up and comers that never got much of a break. Battling was a big part of him coming. On every album he's done he's addressed critics...but there was never much of a reason 2 really go at anyone. He's on his own level. I know there are interviews where he's talked about coming up battling.
