If you were a music critic writing for a mag or newspaper, what kind of review would you give Lost & Found? Here's how I would write it: It's been 3 years since Will Smith had his mark on the music scene. 2002's Born To Reign was quite possibly the most slept-on album of that year. The album was poorly promoted by Columbia Records who ended their relationship with the Grammy-winning rapper later that year. No matter to Big Will, though. He's back and as he puts it, "he's got his swagga back." Lost & Found is the type of album that will surprise most people since they equate Will Smith with such hits as "Getting Jiggy Wit It", "Miami", "Just The Two Of Us" and "Parents Just Don't Understand". They have always considered Mr. Smith to be "pop" but don't get it twisted, Will is definitely hip-hop. You'll get all "tingly" when you hear his long-time friend & partner DJ Jazzy Jeff's scratches on "Here He Comes." Jeff does a clever job of taking the theme from the popular cartoon, Spiderman. "Party Starter" is a certified beat-banger with Ludacris helping out on the hook while Snoop Dogg lends his ever-so-smooth voice to the smoothed-out style of "Pump Ya Brakes." The heavily anticipated "Mr. Nice Guy" has Will using his wit to take tongue-in-cheek shots at Eminem, conservative talk-show host Larry Elder & radio big-mouth Wendy Williams. "Ms. Holy Roller" may be the most controversial track on the album with Will taking shots at religious fanatics who seem to hate instead of love. "Lost & Found", the title track, finds Will admonishing not only wack rappers but the entire rap industry. "Tell Me Why" and "Loretta" are two of the most hauntingly important hip-hop in recent memory. "Wave Em Off" has a hard, rock beat which serves well over Smith's vocals. If there are any missteps, perhaps it's "If You Can't Dance" and possibly the R&B remix of Will's hit single, "Switch". Whether you think Will is soft or not, there's no denying that Will's hunger is apparent on this album. You'll find yourself listening to this album again & again. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Updated Numbers: Domestic Box Office: $167.0 million Overseas Box Office; $127.1 million Total Box Office: $294.1 million Hitch continues its impressive run at the box office. After a strong U.S. performance at #6 this past weekend, Hitch regained the top spot at the U.K. box office helping to push the overseas box office over $125 million. Hitch now has the possibility of topping $325 million worldwide and surpassing $180 million in the U.S.

i'd go with party starter. tell me why is such a sobering track so it would be best to mix it up a bit.
-
it's easily will's best solo album. it's excellent and although it's only late march, it's the best hip-hop album of '05!

i thought free did a horrible job with the interview. i'm pretty sure she didn't listen to the album so she couldn't ask him questions about songs like "mr. nice guy" or "ms. holy roller". i'd give free an "f" for her interview. you're supposed to get some really good stuff and free kept asking him about movies. she didn't even get deep with jeff. i was very disappointed with the interview. i'm not that mad with the crowd though. it was probably the first time they heard "i wish i made that" so they were probably trying to hear what he was saying. they did take

I'd have to say it's Born To Reign with I'm Comin' a close second. Here He Comes is pretty hot, though.

Although Hitch slipped to #6 in this past weekend's box office, the beat continues to go on for Will Smith. Hitch claimed another $4.3 million over the weekend to bring its U.S. total to $166.4 million losing just 33% of its box office from last weekend. It may take awhile for Hitch to drop out of the top 10. At this pace, $170 million is a formality and now the goal for this movie is $200 million. The international numbers will be out later on this week. The worldwide total should easily eclipse $300 million. :thumb:

This subject has been done already on about 3 threads(check the link below). The movie with Ben Affleck is not happening. Neither is The Mark. These are movies that are rumored to have Will involved in it. The only movie is trying to get off the ground is Pursuit Of Happiness. Check this forum

Updated Numbers for Hitch: Domestic Box Office: $162.2 million Overseas Box Office: $97.9 million Total Box Office: $260.1 million Going into the weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com predicts that Hitch will finish in the top ten with $4.6 million. The movie has sustained strong legs and it will be interesting to see if it can continue its strong legs with two new movies(Guess Who? with Bernie Mac & Miss Congeniality 2 with Sandra Bullock) premiering this weekend. If Hitch finishes in the top 5, there may be an outside shot for the movie to finish around $200 million in the U.S.

The other projects are rumors. The only legit project that Will's doing is the Chris Gardner project. Will has been rumored to do at least 4 movies. It doesn't come into fruition until they actually start filming the movie. Will has been rumored to remake "A Star Is Born" for about 4 years. The movie with Ben Affleck is a dead issue since Affleck will be stepping behind the camera to direct Dennis Lehane's novel Gone, Baby, Gone. Filming begins this fall in Boston(source - Chicago Sun-Times 3/24/05). Will may take on "The Mark" but his first project is "Pursuit Of Happiness." I hope this will help everyone.

I guess Lambert is going to start dissing Will. Lambert disagrees with everyone who doesn't like 50 Cent so my guess is he'll say something like, "I like Will but he really doesn't know what he's talking about. 50 Cent is great. I don't care what anybody says."

Well I had Illinois(for obvious reasons), UNC, Oklahoma & Wake Forest in the Final Four. Oklahoma lost so that just blows up my bracket. There have been a lot of upsets. I think the biggest shocker was Kansas losing to Bucknell. Go ILLINI!!! They're still alive. Go UNC!!! They're still alive. UNC & Illinois are my two favorite teams so I hope they meet in the national championship game.

Hitch Box Office Update: Domestic Box Office: $150.6 million Overseas Box Office: $65.6 million Total Box Office: $216.5 million Hitch continues its strong showing at the box office by pulling in $8.7 million over the weekend and then surpassing the $150 million mark on Monday. The box office smash starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes & Kevin James could top off at close to $170 million in the U.S. making it one of the most successful romantic comedies in cinematic history. :thumb:

Premiere Magazine - 50 Greatest Actors Of All-Time
TopDawg14 replied to MissAshley's topic in Will Smith Movies
JJFP Forum Fam, I present to you - The 50 Greatest Actors of All-Time by Premiere Magazine: 50. Brad Pitt 49. Russell Crowe 48. Nicole Kidman 47. Johnny Depp 46. Meryl Streep 45. Jack Lemmon 44. Will Smith 43. Clint Eastwood 42. Gary Cooper 41. Peter Sellers 40. Elizabeth Taylor 39. Denzel Washington 38. Robert DeNiro 37. Al Pacino 36. Sean Connery 35. Harrison Ford 34. Rita Hayworth 33. Shirley Temple 32. Jane Fonda 31. Steve McQueen 30. James Dean 29. Warren Beatty 28. Tom Hanks 27. Gregory Peck 26. Errol Flynn 25. Bette Davis 24. Doris Day 23. Fred Astaire 22. Judy Garland 21. Clarke Gable 20. Sidney Poitier 19. Spencer Tracy 18. Audrey Hepburn 17. Robert Redford 16. Jack Nicholson 15. Marlon Brando 14. Katherine Hepburn 13. Humphrey Bogart 12. Grace Kelly 11. James Cagney 10. Henry Fonda 9. James Stewart 8. Greta Garbo 7. Julia Roberts 6. Paul Newman 5. Ingrid Bergman 4. John Wayne 3. Tom Cruise 2. Marilyn Monroe 1. Cary Grantn Analysis - I think they have too many "Golden Age" stars on there. How can you leave off people like Dustin Hoffman(2-time Oscar Winner), Morgan Freeman(4-time Oscar Nominee) and Kevin Spacey(2-time Oscar Winner)? Denzel Washington at #39? He's a 5-time Oscar Nominee and a 2-time winner. Tom Hanks at #28? He's a 4-time nominee with 2 Oscar wins. Tom Cruise at #3? Sure he's been nominated for 3 Oscars but come on. I certainly would have had Freeman, Spacey and Hoffman over Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Russell Crowe. I'm sure people are going to have a lot to say about this. -
FBI ENDS BIGGIE MURDER INVESTIGATION
TopDawg14 replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
it doesn't surprise me one bit, aj. the fbi and the lapd bungled the case from the start and could really give a rip if the case was solved or not. they haven't solved a case yet involving a rapper. they didn't solve tupac's case. didn't solve jmj's case. they don't care, pure & simple. i think it's ridiculous and i feel so sorry for the families that don't have their loved ones and feel even worse that justice hasn't been served. if they never solved the murder of president john f. kennedy then do you really believe they give a crap whether or not some rapper's murder was solved? (in chris rock's voice) the u.s. government hates rap! -
