I dont think when they were making rappers delight or walk this way there was any thought of dumbing down.. no1 knew those tracks would be successful.. it was when rap became a commercial commodity..record labels started to notice and interfere.. i'd say it was the early 90s when they started//it was the mid 90s 94/95 when labels really upped the pressure starting to force artists to make sure they had a hit record.. it happened before then..but i think thats when it became more widespread.. and subsequently a heap of artists ended up getting dropped around 93/94/95 ..cause they didnt go pop :1-say-yes: today if you sign to a label its like signing you're soul to the devil :sick:

I think a track like "players ball" is so much better than there recent stuff.. :word:

I think music is a very personal thing, If you are making statements in your music, or advocating a certain lifestyle, or even giving your opinion on issues. I expect that to be how you would represent yourself in real life. If you are making throwaway candy coated music then I don't care what you are doing. I think this applies to all musicians not just rappers. It annoys me that someone is telling me to live positive in their song and they aren't even doing it themselves.. I think the musicians that show real honesty in their music the good and the bad are gonna make a greater connection with there fans.. The region Jesus was from most likely he had olive skin dark hair and brown eyes.. all those pictures of jesus with blonde hair and blue eyes are taken a little creative license :word:
