  1. I've spent an inordinate amount of time watching reaction videos on YouTube. Always starts off with "Ok Will Smith..." Quickly followed by "Okay, Will Smith!" Always ends with "Okaaaaaaay, Will Smith!!!!!! Bars!!! Facts!!! He snapped!!!"

  2. You’ve gotta move with the times Ted. Everything evolves to cater to a current audiences preferences. It’s not ignorance, it’s just not what they like or have even heard. If anything the older heads who don’t even attempt to listen to new school stuff before branding it trash, are the ignorant ones.

  5. Come on, man. Enjoy it. You've got six posts with negativity, life is too beautiful for that. I'll also point out that those artists he has collaborated with in the past were not of his era either, with the exception of Biz or Slick Rick and a handful of others. He's collaborated with people outside his norm throughout his career and I can't complain about this choice and the messege. Let Will be... different. Dope track.

  6. DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Fresh Prince and a Grammy boycott that set the tone for three more decades of rap — and culture https://theundefeated.com/features/dj-jazzy-jeff-the-fresh-prince-and-a-grammy-boycott-that-set-the-tone-for-three-more-decades-of-rap-and-culture/ ------------- It's an older article but it's still interesting. I knew about the boycott but it's always great to read more about it.

  7. What a wonderful reunion! Touching and emotional, with great behind-the-scenes footage. A fantastic gift for all the fans. It's amazing to see how many people and generations this show has touched. And after all these years, it feels 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' is more popular than ever. So good to see them back together! The James Avery tribute was perfect. A beautiful moment where words were not necessary to express how they feel about his loss. Very emotional so them all crying The Janet part was also a big one. I'm glad Will and she could have an honest conversation, and that

  9. Yes - was great to see Ross Bagley make an appearance!

  10. Incredible. Uncle Phil tribute, Janet reconciliation, Ross Bagley showing up, it was everything it needed to be. I quite like that it was an intimate setting for the cast, made it feel more like a reunion than a documentary. Loved it. My allergies kept playing up though, which was annoying ;)

    Pass The Mic

Yeah, I love Volume 2. I posted it on my Facebook after I got the heads up for Speech and Eshe about it. I should have tagged you in it. I'm glad you posted the new R&B one here, because I've wanted to watch it, but haven't had the time yet.

  14. This was really really good. No rules, no publicists, nothing to promote....just telling raw stories from back in the day. The craziest takeaway for me was Homebase almost shipped without Summertime! Summertime was the last cut done. I wonder if they had to subtract a song. I can't imagine Homebase without Summertime. I wonder what would've been the lead single. Probably Ring My Bell.

  15. This was seriously one of my fav things. The first time JJFP have been live on social media like that. The story of Charlie Mack breaking Jeffs hand before a show was crazy!

  16. The whole battle idea is corny to me. If it's not rooted in reality, it just isn't interesting. They are talking about battling as presentation or a setup. The Fresh Prince and LL Cool J have been my two favorite emcees for about 30 years. I'd rather just hear them do some songs together. It's long overdue. Shoot, with their history, I"d just like to hear them talk for an hour about their music and history together.

    A decade of music

Since the decade is almost over I thought it would be a great idea to list all the songs Will did in the last 10 years. Just to get an overview of the of the music he did. I'll try to start this list. Keep in mind we're talking about the music he released from 2010 until 2020. If I missed something you guys can always add more. 2015 Fiesta (Remix) - Bomba Estéreo & Will Smith 2017 Get Lit - Will Smith 2018 Icon(Reggaeton Remix) - Jaden Smith featuring Nicky Jam & Will Smith Live It Up - Nicky Jam featuring Era Ist

  21. I can't believe all the familiar names from way way back in the day are still on here, I miss you guys. It's so cool that this forum is still active. What's up AJ! You once shipped a JJFP B-Sides & Rarities mixtape to me after an AIM chat years ago and to this day it's one of my favorite CDs ever haha (it had "From Da South" on it!!) And Tim you were the one who introduced me to Hieroglyphics and that essentially took me down the rabbit hole of underground hip hop which changed the way I listened to music. Is Da Brakes still here?? I miss our forum text-battle tournaments! L

  22. Yes, it's from Word 2. The song was done before He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper. The verse from it made it into the live version of "Brand New Funk." https://www.discogs.com/Various-Word-2/release/1540930

    A decade of music

I doubt there will be any more full length albums but I do hope we get at least a bit more in the 2020s. Also, some of these tracks, like Get Lit (truly awful) are facepalm levels of bad while the latino ****, personally, dont really do it for me. I'd swap all the music the last ten years for one good, Jeff-produced FP track.

  24. Nail on the head. His career buzz wasn’t even highest in the 90s. FPOBA has been appreciated more since it wrapped, 96 is where his career took off. Then he had a flawless, bankable period through 2000-2008, where if his name was attached to a project it went ballistic.

  25. Awesome read! i got the image of Will in my head sitting on the floor playing nes from FPOBA lol

  26. Will Smith To Star As Crime Boss Nicky Barnes In Netflix Film ‘The Council’ Will Smith will take on the role of New York City crime boss Nicky Barnes in his next Netflix film The Council. The project will re-team Smith with Concussion helmer Peter Landesman, who wrote the screenplay for the new film and will executive produce. Smith and partner James Lassiter are producing the pic for Westbrook Inc.’s Overbrook Entertainment along with Jackson Pictures’ Matt Jackson and Jason Essex for Anonymous Nobodies. Landesman’s script tells the never-before-told story of a crime syndicate consis

  27. I also saw that BNF performance and wanted to download it but it was gone real quick. I don't understand why Will or his people are so secretive about these things. Isn't some of his people JL and Omar too? I just dont get it. I couldn't give two craps about Will's movies but when it comes to music please give me as much as possible! Lol

  31. Just saw Aladdin. Same story as Tim. Full house, all ages. A lot of positive talk about Will. Even some applause at the end which never happens in Belgium. I liked it. Loved the end credits hearing the new version of Friend Like Me.

  32. 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes too. This and Bright are proof of how critics are extremely detached from what the consumer actually wants from the film industry and Hollywood. Wills career is beginning to thrive again. He has the calibre to win an Oscar, but his forte is in the action, sci-fi, comedic roles. Im glad to see him returning to those genres. Spies in Disguise looks like it’s gonna be a fun one for the family and Gemini Man looks dope as anything we’ve seen him do. Then of course Bad Boys for Life. It’s a very good time to be a Will Smith fan right now.

  33. It was phenomenal... i absolutely loved it.. Aladdin, Lion King and The Little Mermaid are my favourite Disney films so I was so happy to see a live action remake of of 2/3. I think it was done perfectly and I loved the new twist they added... Like Rebirth said its feeling very nostalgic for us Will Smith fans at the moment.

  35. Damn Ted, you’ve been the most actively disappointed in Will not making music, then when he does, because it’s not quite the flavour you want, it’s an issue too calm down dude, it’s not that serious. This track is dope. Logics new age but with an old school twist and not a mumble rapper and Wills flow and content is somehow nostalgically fresh. Can’t hate on this in the slightest.

    'Aladdin' - Will as Genie

I know people have been looking for new music from Will. Well, we have some... Friend Like Me: Arabian Nights: Prince Ali: Friend Like Me (End Title):

  37. Yes! This is perfect for the end credits. DJ Khaled is mad annoying, so I'm glad that he definitely took a back seat on this. The music definitely has a late 90's/early 2000's feel to it. The way he says "never had a friend like me" feels like he borrowed from 2Pac's "Never Had A Friend Like Me." I get the feeling his going to let Aladdin be a vehicle to finally get his own music out.

  38. I like the song he still got it but obviously this is the first time logic is mentioned on this board so I know most jjfp fans rather see him keep it classic although the song sounds like a home base song

    Get Lit

Hey man - I agree with all that you said. I don't mind Get Lit as I do enjoy house and some EDM but he's not giving us what we want. We want BARS! Will needs to actually SPIT BARS. Once that happens, he'll get more attention online. I don't care if he wants to experiment, you have to as an artist. Caution in the WIld could've been so much better if it was a full song and if he didn't repeat the same 4 lines or so in both "verses". The Fiesta remix video was pretty dope - imagine if those visuals were used for a proper rap comeback song. I've been saying it for years that he's super

  44. Ok if I've done this right, if you play that video, it should go onto the next song when it's finished. I'm missing the 2nd part of Nightmare and the 2nd part of I wanna rock. Other than that, it's pretty much the full concert.
