  1. Yeah, it may be a little too tearjerker and sentimental for the Sci-fi, Comic book movie fans of the internet (they're cracking jokes about it on other sites), but women and older people will probably like it.
  2. The trailer appears to be up: http://movies.aol.com/movie/the-pursuit-of...ness/23572/main I can't get it to work, though requires a stupid plug-in!!! It is also attached to some showings of "Lady in Water" in theaters now.
  3. Trailer will be attached to the upcoming movie "The Lady in Water", so it may be online before that.
  4. If that's true..then I'm pissed(along with thousands of other fans of the book)...Will, I supported you and defended your casting, so if you visit this site at all: Don't change or let them change the book. "Cortman" is a big part of the book! He can't be removed! Another survivor! The books called "I Am Legend" not "We are Legend". It was okay to change "I, Robot", you can't make a understandable narrative movie out of that book, but stay faithful to this one. Or don't make it at all! (I don't like sounding like a whiny fanboy or crazed fan, but I had to get it off my chest). Considering how many times a movie based on this book has been done.. I think they need to make changes Vincent Prices version was pretty faithful, but is very out dated. "The Omega Man" with Heaston strayed from the source(the ending is really different) and is a lousy movie.

  6. He confirmed he'd begin filming I Am Legend in September in New York Did he mention anything about "Pursuit of Happyness".
  7. Can somebody write what he says..I can't get it to work.
  8. Blackfilm.com better be right on this!!! The news is all over the internet. If turns out to be false, they'll be alot of pissed off people!
  9. This should go in the current "I Am Legend" topic, but if true it needs its own thread!!! link: http://www.blackfilm.com/20060623/features...egendnews.shtml I AM LEGEND News Rumor has it that Johnny Depp has joined the Will Smith vehicle June 30, 2006 When Will Smith was cast as the lead in the long-awaited adapted film version of Richard Matheson's I AM LEGEND, it was probably the worst kept secret. After all, his name had been floating around the web for the longest time. Until certain outlets that folks feel are the bible of information put the word out to confirm our story, sources tell blackfilm.com that along with Smith, JOHNNY DEPP has been added to the cast. No telling which role Depp will play, but given his penchant for playing extraordinary weird-like characters, expect a juicy plum part, like the neighbor, now one of the living dead. Set in Los Angeles after a biological war, the film centers on the sole healthy survivor, a man who finds himself in a battle against nocturnal mutants. Based on the novel by Richard Matheson, the film will be written by Mark Protosevich. Constantine director Francis Lawrence will helm the film with David Heyman, Akiva Goldsman, Neal Moritz and Erwin Stoff serving as producers. Matheson's book was adapted twice before. Vincent Price starred in "The Last Man on Earth" and Charlton Heston toplined "The Omega Man". Shooting will begin in New York at the end of September. Warner Bros. will distribute the film. That would be so awesome!!
  10. They're filming in New York City. link: http://www.nyc.gov/html/film/html/news/060...end_guide.shtml P.S. "Tonight He Comes is currently scheduled to start filming in January 2007
  11. Yes the movie is bad, but Robert Conrad's an ass. I'll he ever did was be on that show which lasted like four years. In reality, when people talk about the great shows on TV, I doubt Wild Wild West gets mentioned. I'm suprised in got made into a movie. It was studio execs looking to captalize on anyting with name recognition, Will got suckered in to joining by Sonnenfeld.
  12. Will's great, but I'm not such a blinded fan that I can't admit to myself that "Wicked Wisdom isn't too good. I admire Jada for trying and wanting to do something she personally feels, but right now they do suck.
  13. This is kinda cool... link: http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=news&id=6895 Like plenty of other people, Will Smith is preparing himself for a global pandemic. The big difference is that Will's is a work of fiction. Smith is getting ready for battle with bloodseeking mutants in the upcoming adaptation of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, and in the quest for authenticity he (along with director Francis Lawrence and several other members of the production team) recently visited the Center for Disease Control to learn about what sort of virus might cause such a worldwide catastrophe, and what the last healthy man on the planet might do to end it. In the latest take on the material (following The Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man), Smith's immune virologist Neville builds a containment lab in the basement of his New York brownstone (the new film shifts coasts from the original Los Angeles setting). The visit to the CDC focused on the science and possible characteristics of the movie's virus and how it might be handled, as well as the potential emotional state of Smith's character. "It seemed very valuable for the actor and director to get accurate information from CDC because it appeared that they honestly wanted to accurately portray how a disease could spread around the world and change things for everybody forever," says the CDC's Richard Klomp, a guy with more titles than the eventual film's closing credits. "They asked the presenters several specific questions about, should we use a rabies-like virus, or something else? How long would it be viable in the environment? What would this guy’s laboratory look like—what kind of equipment would he need if he were trying to find a cure?" The big-budget Warner Bros. flick is scheduled to start shooting in September for a summer 2007 release. At least casting won't take long, and extras should be easy to find once the Avian Flu arrives.
  14. Top Dawg, would it be possible to get a list of the top 20? Is there a list online? Most of the top twenty are studio presidents and highpower agents. Spielberg and couple other directors are in there also.
  15. This one sound pretty dark...I like it! link: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14828 Will Smith is attached to star in Seven Pounds for Columbia Pictures and Escape Artists and is in talks to produce the film alongside his Overbrook Entertainment partner James Lassiter, says The Hollywood Reporter. Written by Grant Nieporte, the story centers on a man who inadvertently falls in love with a woman while attempting to kill himself. The film would reteam Smith with Columbia and Escape Artists, which together produced Smith's upcoming drama The Pursuit of Happyness. Smith also has signed on to star in Columbia's Tonight, He Comes, which has been pushed back to a 2007 start date after "Happyness" director Gabriele Muccino dropped out. Smith will next shoot I Am Legend for Warner Bros. Pictures. There is no director attached to Seven Pounds
  16. Has anyone bought Chris Gardner's book yet? There's supposed to be pictures in there.
  17. I was reading the new Premiere Magazine and it had a ranking of the 50 most powerful people in Hollywood and gives a little info on them. Well for Will (he was number 14!) it said that he was offered the lead role in the upcoming movie version of the tv show "Magnum P.I., but he turned it down. I just thought that was interesting. I'm glad he did. I liked the show when I was a kid, but I doubt if it would make a good movie.
  18. Abrams is supposed to do a new take on the "Star Trek" series. Eventhough "Ali" underperformed at the box office, Mann is still a highly regarded director. "Collateral" made money and while see about "Miami Vice".
  19. I don't think it's anything wrong with the movie itself, it just like people were saying in another thread..this really isn't a type of movie for Muccino. He doesn't seem like the special effects type of director, maybe he and Will will reteam on another drama in the future. This still gives hope for Michael Mann to not only produce it, but direct it as well!
  20. This movie has no luck! link: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=14599 Just weeks after coming onboard Sony's Tonight, He Comes, director Gabriele Muccino has gone, reports Variety. The film is still on course to shoot next year with Will Smith starring. Muccino was hired after Jonathan Mostow dropped out because of creative differences. The trade says that Smith and Muccino had such a strong rapport on the recently completed The Pursuit of Happyness that the star was eager to reteam with the Italian helmer. Once the dust settled and Muccino got into the project, they decided that the story of a superhero in midlife crisis wasn't for him, and the split was amicable. Because Sony has Muccino preparing "Happyness" for a December release, the studio already pushed Tonight, He Comes from a summer start to early 2007. Warner Bros. used the open slot to accelerate the start of the Francis Lawrence-directed sci-fi film I Am Legend.
  21. What would Will do in a movie about the Italian mob?
  22. Cool! It's good that their gonna stay faithful. I just hope Lawrence can pull it off. I know alot of people on this board think he sucks...I'm a little more optamistic, but if he screws this up!!!
