  1. Yeah, i wouldn't take things seriously from a guy who is so bitter at the rap game.
  2. Right after i saw JJ+FP in the summer of 2002, i got really sick. I got strep throat and my tonscles were HUGE. My throat waz smaller than the size of a corner. I couldn't even breathe right cuz it hurt so bad, much less talk. However, i found out that if i talked a certain way, it didn't hurt that much. When i talked that way, i sounded almost exactly as FP in ALI. Everytime i talked, i'd throw in a line from ALI at the end of the sentence and my girlfriend would crack up.
  3. I guess i'd say he's the best. My favorites are DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jam Master Jay, and DJ Premier. I think most of the DJ's on "Break It Down" are amazing, but i just don't follow them.
  4. Listen 2 early Eminem freestyles...some of his early raps were just as fast as Twista's stuff. Parts of Code Red proves FP can hang with the fastest. And check that Busta and Mystical collabo on Busta's "Extinction Level Event." Listen 2 Skee-Lo's 1st and 2nd album. I actually think Twista's voice and some of his flow sounds alot like Skee-Lo. Twista is fast, but there are others who can do what he can do...he just builds his entire style off it.
  5. All i'm gonna say is this, which i've said 100 times. FP is a team player. He's cool with everyone. He's cool with 50 Cent and Nelly, but their music is the same kinda music he disses in songs like "Lost + Found." Forget what your tastes are...that's fact right there. When u are friends with someone, u say good things about them even if something like their talent is lacking. When me and some friends had a Hip-Hop group, one of my friends just didn't have 2 much skill on the mic. His rhymes were good, but his flow waz weak...but of course i didnt' say anything bad about him. Being cool with the people in the industry is different from real friends with someone. Let's put it this way. FP wrote the song "Potnas" for people like Jeff...not for 50 Cent.
  6. "Swagga" is my joint. When i go out, i gotta listen 2 that track. It's gets my head right.
  7. I wouldn't be as dramatic 2 say the album will "fail"...but something dose need 2 be released soon.
  8. We talked about this awhile ago. Could be...could just be a name. The truth is, the chances that "Michelle" in "Ms. Holy Roller" is actually named Michelle is highly unlikely. FP would already have a lawsuit on his hands if he used her real name.
  9. I think LL Cool J is classic in every way. His sound, his style, his lyrics, his personality, his growth. I wouldn't say he can end anybody's career...but lets be real. None of the artists that went at him with lyrics are on his level at this point. And i like most of the artists he feuded with on the mic. MC Hammer, Ice-T, Kool Moe Dee, Canibus. I like ALL of them (except for Canibus) and none of their careers are doing much compared 2 LL's. I can't put my fingure on what he's got...but look at the facts. He's highly respected, he's 11 albums deep, he's been around for 20 years, he's got the music awards, the movies, the clothingline, etc. U don't gotta love LL, but none of his success would be possible without the skillz that back them all up.
  10. See, we do have some of the same tastes. :thumb:
  11. Bracesup, now that i know u listen 2 a different music style, i know where u are coming from. That's your thing. But calling them LL, Rakim, and Mos Def "losers" isn't any different than my post expressing dislike for ICP. Don't make it look one-sided. Now that i know what kinda music u listen 2, that puts things in persepective. As long as u aren't like some people (person) here who follows a certain rap click and claims they are making the best music these days and also claim 2 come from a old skool Hip-Hop background...i'm cool.
  12. :blah: I saw him premier the video on MTV and BET. He actually gave props 2 it appriciated seeing other people recognize his work. In fact, i have his 106 + Park appearance on tape somewhere. Just cuz people don't like Nick Cannon dosen't mean they have 2 make up what they saw on TV...which is dangerous since millions of other people have seen it and can point out when they make things up 2 sound good 4 their own best interest.
  13. BOBBY VALENTINO - the whole freakin' album!! It's just perfect!!
  14. Right now, let me just say i'm seriously ?uestioning your Hip-Hop credibility. Scratch that, I AM ?uestioning your credibility.
  15. Wow! Just as i expected, this entire show annoyed the crap out of me. 1st off, pretty much NOBODY doing the commontary has any room 2 talk about Hip-Hop. Flava Flav is on there, MC Lyte pops up 4 a second, Sir-Mix-Alot talks alot, and Brian McKnight gets some screen time 2...but that's it. They knock all the stuff i grew up on like Kris Kross and Marky Mark. They diss "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" as if it waz supposed 2 be song done 2 change the world. None of them even knew what Jiggy meant. They also focused on stuff nobody cared about. They spent like 5 minutes on Madonna's short rap at the end of her track "American Life." They dissed Ice Cube for directing Color Me Badd's "Time & Chance" video (one of my fav R-N-B joints from the mid-90's). They focused on the one Christian emcee who did a track called "To Whom It May Concern" which waz a prayer 4 Eminem, hoping he'd get his life right. The song sounded really dope from the short bits u heard on the show. The thing that made me real mad is that they focued on stuff that waz so irrelevant, but they ignored all the things wrong with Hip-Hop 2day that aren't even Hip-Hop. VH-1 shows alot of love for Hip-Hop...but this show isn't a part of that.
  16. He dosen't need 2 do any movies for awhile.
  17. No doubt. I'm biased becuz i've been a Marky Mark fan since 1991, but his work in movies is amazing. When it comes 2 success, he is right behind FP. Of course he dosen't refure 2 his time as an emcee 2 much, but his limitations are non-existance...just looke at The Big Hit, Planet of The Apes, The Perfect Storm, Fear, The Truth About Charlie, Boogie Nights, The Italian Job...it's hard 2 believe the same guy did the same movies!!
  18. FP can rap just as quick as Twista. Twista only stands out becuz nobody raps that fast anymore. Back in the day it waz quite common. It's just that since the 90's, everybody wanted 2 make their music more laidback. FP, Skee-Lo, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Mystical...they can all race a rhyme properly.
  19. Sorry...but i this post is just silly. I didn't read any of the replies, but here's what i gotta say. Public Enemy is NOT gangsta rap. They are Hip-Hop with lots of knowlege and political insight. And 2 say Dr. Dre's "The Chonic" is just a gangsta rap album is crazy. There's so much more 2 it than that. There's politics, street stories, etc. What FP was complaining about waz that AFTER "The Chronic" blew up...and then "Doggystyle"...every new rap act waz trying 2 be just like them. Nobody waz themselves. Even established artist sold out their own style 2 go "gangsta." Since then, it waz from strictly gangsta rap 2 "guns, sex/ho's, drugs, alcohol, and material things. All these news guys still sell out who they really are 2 be like all the other uncreative fools. The music isn't about anything. Snoop Dogg is defintly alot more than his original incarnation. There's alot more 2 Snoop than his old gangsta image. Snoop is one of the ONLY guys 2 come out in the 90's who have graduated 2 the next level. That's why he's doing trax with FP and Gang Starr.
  20. 2PAC - Live And Die In L.A. One of my fav 'Pac cutz!
  21. Am i the only one who thinks this idea has fallen flat on it's face. TYME 2 DELETE!! Unless Scy puts on a bib and puts his grub down with some Kibbles + Bits.
  22. I think it's a fun remake...nothing more 2 it than that. Keep in mind this wazn't supposed 2 be a momunmental...it waz done 4 the soundtrack 2 a kids movie.
  23. Rakim should have done something with JJ+FP years ago. When i look at that list, Jay-Z just stands out. Even if his 1st album was good, 1 album dosn't stand up the entired careers like LL and Rakim have. And Mos Def runs circles around Jay-Z easily.
