Usher wants to be like Will
JumpinJack AJ replied to rcpbball30's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Usher is the man. I can see his career going in the same direction. Every album and single he drops is a hit. And i've seen his acting in variou movies and TV shows. He has a little work 2 do, but he holds his own. -
Run + DMC are still cool. They are like brothers. They came up 2gether, took over the world, and basically made Hip-Hop accessable 2 pop culture. Listen 2 the song "Let's Stay Together" (off Crown Royal). The video takes it even 1 step further. Over the years, Run + D's taste changed. Run stayed in2 Hip-Hop while DMC started checkin' other styles of music. The fact that DMC's voice has weakened over the years and that their artistic styles had changed are what made Crown Royal the album it is. When Jam Master Jay waz killed, they both said things in interviews saying how their next album waz gonna take it back 2 the heart of Run DMC. They said that they were gonna mix their different styles 2gether 2 make the next album more complete than Crown Royal. They sounded like they were just about 2 start work on it when Jay waz killed. Days later, they retired Run DMC. Since then, they have appeared at certain events 2gether, but as of right now, they are taking the retirement of of working 2gether pretty serious. Run's solo album is exactly that...a solo album. Nobody has any guest spots on the album. The track "Home Sweet Home" kinda deals with Run DMC's legacy.

Ahhh...i didn't listen 2 the radio all day. Usually they do play "Nightmare On My Street" every Halloween on the Hip-Hop/R-N-B and mix stations.

BLACK ROB - Star In The Hood The Robb Report (2005) I'm not really a Black Rob fan, but i like this song. Makes wanna peep out the album.
-
Whoa! That's quick! As much as i wanna own the whole series, i liked the idea of having 2 wait awhile so i had something 2 look forward 2 over the next 2 years.

No no no no no.....don't get it twisted. What i'm saying here is that there is the proper way 2 convey your ideas, feelings, and beliefs...and then there is the wrong way. Let's just say that when u can't even share your beliefs in an intellegent and respectful way, i won't even put forward the effort 2 respect what u think. Which is the case in the post above.

KIRK FRANKLIN + YOLANDA ADAMS - Afterwhile Hero (2005)

Wow, this post has turned in2 a perfect example of who is lost and who is found. I respect freedom of speech but that doesn't mean i have 2 respect those who abuse it.

Eminem just dosen't have any compassion or heart. And i can't respect a man like that at all. Maybe his camp didn't relay the message or something like that, so i shouldn't come off judging. But still, something's wrong with the situation. I look at it this way tho'...people like FP, LL, S-N-P, etc all take part in organizations 2 help other people. They take the situation they are in and help other people. Not many new cats do that....and it's very disappointing. This is beyond music...it's about character.

We are not only supporters of one of the most talented people in Hip-Hop...we are supporters of one of the greatest people in entertainment...period.

ACTUALLY...that "Parents Just Don't Understand" cover waz done by Lil' Romeo, Nick Cannon, and 3LW. It's just a fun cover. I'd never take it 2 seriously.

KIRK FRANKLIN - Let It Go Hero (2005) This song is amazing. I urge everyone 2 peep the track out.

what's more important.. striving to be happy? or being happy? I like this ?uestion. The answer is easy. BEING HAPPY. In the past year or so, i've learned that even when u are knocked down and discouraged, u can pull up the ability 2 be happy. Reality is that u will never be truely happy if u are always striving 2 be happy. I used 2 always say stuff like "when i get outta debt, i'll be happy...when i get a better job, i'll be happy" and that's just stupid. Even when life is more comfortable, there is still work 2 be done. I've learned 2 tackle all those things and handle my business knowing that there will never be a time when the world stops and i can just chill and say "i'm finally happy." If u live right and truely understand how life is, u can be happy right now...even if u are over your head in stuff 2 do...even in your darkest hour.

I'm not hear 2 defend myself or 2 attack anyone else. I've said what i have 2 say and i'm not wasting my time pushing my point of view any further. Faith is about believeing in what u don't actually see. Nobody waz around when everything waz created so it's stupid 2 fight over this stuff. I knew this post waz gonna go this way...and all i have 2 say is what i said in my 1st post. Nuff said.

This sounds all irrelevant 2 me. Jay-Z is only really respected on the commercial front.
-
Thanx 4 sharing!! This is the best news i've read in a minute. I can't wait 4 the new album. The movies sound good 2...i'm hyped. Maybe we can expect some soundtrack songs. Imagin LL and Latifah on the same track!!

Man, i worked with my friend 2nite and felt like adding something new 2 this post. Since she had some extra training time, i told her she could stay longer if she wanted to...and she did. We laughed all night long. I had lots 2 do b4 closing and she stayed afterwards. I'm on a high that i didn't think i'd ever feel again after my past break ups. I'm just taking it one day at a time and seeing if i can take this another step further. She's been saying some stuff that that i could take for face value...or could try 2 read in2 them more...and i like reading in2 them better...ha ha. Last night i watched the episode of The Jamie Foxx Show where Fancy (Jamie's long time love interest) finally admits she likes him...so i'm feeling unstoppable at the moment. I can't say that i can see things going my way, but i can say that there's no way she has more fun with anyone else. So stay strong, positive, and not doing or saying anything 2 bold until u know it's cool.

What is the essence of being human? I don't know exactly how 2 put my answer in2 words. I believe that we as humans are chroinically a work in progress. We should always be learning, growing, and moving on 2 a better place in life. Anyone who continually makes bad decisions on purpose, lives negatively, and is satistfied with where they are in life is living wrong. I belive that we are born with a sinful nature and that the smartest and stongest people break out of that and live their lives 2 the fullest. does the universe have a beginning? Absolutely. I have strong faith and believe that everything is a creation of God's. The idea that this universe and life started all on it's own is insane and pathetic. Life doesn't create itself. Something living had 2 create it. Why are people still buying Ashlee Simpson records? Me friend likes her music so i bought her the new CD. I actually think half of the album is very good. (Tim has officially disowned me as a friend...ha ha).

Changing Faces - Stroke You Up (Instrumental)
JumpinJack AJ replied to mfuqua23's topic in Caught in the Middle
I have the CD single that has the instrumental 2 the remix of the song...but i think it also has the instrumental 2 the original version. R. Kelly really outdid himself with that joint. It's one of the my fav mid-90's R-N-B trax. I don't really upload music cuz my computer is slow, but maybe we can work something out. I'll post later 2 confirm i have it. -
It's actually quite easy 2 see how he's accomplished all that he's done. He's stayed positive and done as much "right" as a person can do. He's stayed true 2 himself and never sold out for any reason. It dosen't get any realer than that. Look at other rappers. They live filthy lifestyles and then glorify it. Anyone who worships ho's, alcohol, drugs, guns, violence, money and dose it while cussing up a storm is a lost, ignorant person. And 4 those who don't live like that and pretend that they do on records...well, that's just phoney and stupid.
