  1. I think Tim hit it right on the head. I'm still young! LOL. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I kept it simple this year... the wifey took me out to dinner.
  2. Great job Brakes. This should be fun. I just finished voting. Some of those battles were hard to choose though.
  3. Good idea but Vibe but they completely screwed up the seedings. And how do you not have Lupe Fiasco in the bracket??? I agree with most folks in this thread that either Pac, Wayne or Em will win. It's been set up that way. If kids knew their history, and they don't, then the logical winner would be either Kane, KRS, or Rakim. As much as I liked BIG, he's not above those 3. The same goes for Jay. Although I'm not a big fan of Pac, I respected his skills as an MC.
  4. This is could be interesting if it's done right.
  5. Yeah this song goes hard. The Clipse & 'Ye went in hard on this beat. Will add this song to my iPod & iPhone.
  6. I like the new look. Great job Tim!!
  7. Gospel, Gospel Hip-Hop, some R&B, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Classical
  8. Happy Birthday Big Sis!!! Hope you enjoyed it!!!
  9. I gotta go back to 1987. I liked hip-hop before then but I really didn't understand it. '87 was the year that a true classic album came out - Eric B. & Rakim's Paid In Full. There was one song on that album that caught me & still ranks as one of my favorite hip-hop songs of all-time. The song? I Ain't No Joke. It was when I heard that song that I knew I would be in love with hip-hop for the rest of my life. Besides Paid In Full, 1987 also gave us the following classic albums: Kool Moe Dee's "How Ya Like Me Now", BDP's "Criminal Minded", LL's "Bigger & Deffer", Public Enemy's "Yo Bumrush The Show" and.... oh yeah, JJFP's "Rock The House". Great times indeed.
  10. Yes Tim, you are absolutely correct! Some more pics:
  11. A couple of pics from the reception that friends of mine took:
  12. Hey Fam, Just wanted to let you know that I got married yesterday in Atlanta, GA. I'll try to post some pics when I get back from Mexico. Thanks for the love!
  13. This just broke in the U.S. about 90 minutes ago. The Dallas Cowboys have released trouble wideout Terrell Owens. Go to ESPN for the latest in this shocking sports story. Well.... so much for the Cowgirls! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. On tonight's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann", MSNBC host Keith Olbermann has his usual segment of World's Best Persons. Guess who made it to #1 tonight? That's right - Will Smith for his "Boom Goes The Dynamite' reference at last night's Academy Awards. Here's the link: Countdown With Keith Olbermann
  15. That was a pretty cool video. I like the song too.
  16. Will Smith has won the Best Actor Image Award for Seven Pounds at the 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards. The Secret Life of Bees, which Will Smith produced, won for Best Movie at the 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards. Congratulations Will!
  17. The funny thing is ladi33 didn't bother to sign in but took enough time to call people on a JJFP Message Board losers for not liking the trash that is Lil Wayne. I'm a little sick of people calling other people "haters" because they choose not to like something. It's like people can't form opinions when it comes to these garbage rappers. Ladi33 clearly brought nothing significant to the board nor did ladi give clear, concise reasons why Lil Wayne is a great mc. "He is the ****" & stop hatin' won't cut it on this board(where intelligent conversation happens) & I fear that this is the mindset of most young rap fans. That being said, I still find it an insult that he was even nominated for 8 Grammys. He should not have won best rap album(Lupe should have won) nor should he have been nominated for the big 3(best song, best album, record of the year).
  18. I can't stop laughing at Bale just owning this dude. Now while I feel bad for the DP he got owned. Best rant I've heard in a long, long time!! Classic!!
  19. WTF is this trash???????? Someone please help me to understand why so many people think this dude is the greatest rapper out now. There are grown people who actually want to put Wayne on their top 5 list of greatest emcees?!?!?!
  20. I recorded The Inauguration on DVR while I watched it on Facebook. It was a great day for all Americans. I cried tears of joy when Barack Obama was introduced for the first time before he took the oath of office. I kept thinking about my father who grew up in Mississippi in the 50's & 60's. He told me stories of having police dogs & hoses sprayed on him & others. I thought about my 86-year-old grandmother who grew during The Great Depression, Jim Crow & the Civil Rights movement. I thought about how proud my parents & my grandmother must feel right now. I thought about my other grandparents who are deceased & how they would have felt if they were here to see this day. I thought about those who fought, bled & died for African-Americans just to get the right to vote. I thought about Dr. King, Malcolm X, John F. Kennedy, Medgar Evers, Shirley Chisholm, Bobby Kennedy & other great men and women who stood for change. It was truly a moment that I'll never forget & a moment I will share proudly with my future children. It was simply the greatest moment in American history and I'm so grateful to have seen this moment.
  21. It was big night for Will Smith at the 2009 People's Choice Awards. As one of the producers of the independent hit, The Secret Life of Bees, the movie took home 2 awards for Favorite Movie(Drama) & Favorite Movie(Independent). Smith's night wasn't done as he captured two personal awards for Favorite Male Movie Star & Favorite Male Action Star. See the complete list of winners here.
  22. I really liked this movie and got what it was about. As usual my opinion of a movie differs from critics which is why I don't listen to them. It was a bit predictable(I pretty much figured out the movie about a third of the way in) but liked the strong performances. This is one of those movies that's not for the audience at large. This is one of those risky movies that makes you think. I enjoyed the movie a lot. I thought it would be depressing but I found it very inspirational.
