DJ Jazzy Jeff
Hip Hop Forever III
(Rapster ***1/2)

On his second mix CD for the Rapster label, longtime local hero Jeff Townes, as usual, shines by pointing the spotlight at others. On Hip Hop Forever III, a follow-up to 2004's HHF II, Will Smith's better half digs into his crates to tell a personalized version of hip-hop history, blending cuts by heavy hitters such as Eric B. and Rakim and A Tribe Called Quest with lesser-knowns such as Canadian MC Saukrates and New York conscious rapper Mister Complex. It's a smooth, idiosyncratic mix that subtly shows off Townes' scratching and production techniques and is a reminder that beneath the pop veneer of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, there was some serious musicality at work.

Just picked up my copy. Only just stuck it on though. But got that ITS JAZZY Siren intro that i love.

Got the 2CD version for £11.99 which i didn't think was too bad for a brand new release in the stores. HMV to be precise.

I'll give a review later.

I'm sure it'll turn up tommorow.

As for my review. Its a good mix CD, nothing outstanding but its JJ after all so i can't help but love it. Worth picking up in my opinion. The inlay cover is pretty cool. Got some nice Jeff photos from 2002, and a little reminder that TROTM is out in 2007.

I've only seen the single disc version...but i don't really care 2 get my hands on the 2 disc version since it has nuttin' 2 do with Jeff...just the regular trax. Anyways, the mix is dope. I've been listening 2 it non-stop.

I'll pick it up this weekend if I see it at Best Buy, but I was really hoping not to spend any money this week! I already ordered Kel's mixtape without hesitation and now this.

God Blessa!

I recently put in an order for this, should receive it in the mail next week, I don't like how that review had to go out to disrespect FP like that, that wasn't necessary
"On behalf of Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince we'd like to wish y'all a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and all that something-something, but we'd also like you to a minute, take a moment to look around at your family and thank God for them 'cause they may not always be here with ya, Peace!"

I got it yesterday and gave it a listen today. It's in the same vein as HHFII. I love these albums because they're straight hip hop. There's more songs on this one as well. Good stuff!

God Blessa!

Knockin At The Front Door!!! I loved that song in high school. And the Biz track is from his latest album, which is a good. A lot of classics there.

I bought your CD, listened to it and took that wack sh** back to Best Buy"
